J didn't really eat any tea - it was stuff he normally likes but I think I gave it to him when it was still a bit too hot and it seemed to put him off. So I have just given him some toast and milk in front of In The Night Garden (he is sitting in his new little chair at the coffee table). I feel a bit bad-motherish - will he not eat his tea on purpose in future in order to get this? Plus he was rushing around burning up energy till I got him to come and sit down and watch TV and eat!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 26/09/2011 19:34

What's he doing in Mbro woodlands? That's 10 mins from my house :)

Mon - homemade veg pizza and wedges
Tues - quorn curry
Wed - quorn sausages, sweet potato wedges, cauliflower cheese and peas
Thurs - Pasta (sundried tomato and balsamic sauce) and garlic bread
Fri - Pie with root veg gratin and broccoli
Sat - Quorn pieces in bbq sauce with jacket potato, sweetcorn/veg
Sun - roast probably

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 26/09/2011 19:51

Technically they're Linda McCartney sausages on Wednesday, not quorn.

memphis83 · 26/09/2011 20:16

Evening everyone!
tsc she is a ucking crackpot, it makes my mil seem sane!

cakes on subject of homework, I think that they sould have fun homework
that they can learn from like making things like volcanos and parchment style letters that is fun but they can learn from elements of it, this is the sort of homework the school L will go to does plus reading, but I have read to L from tiny and he loves books, but I feel the same as mlic if I had the funds L would be going to local private school, but we wouldnt be able to afford the huge amount of uniform let alone the fees!

Stiener schools are very weird IMO, my friend is raising funding for one here, but its not for me, but then my half siblings go to a tiny goverment funded village school which is like a cult, very religious and racist, freaks the shit out of me, my 11 yo sis has just started high school and didnt know anything about periods and sex ed as they arent incouraged to open their mind to stuff of that nature Shock where as my friends daughter got told at 9 at school.

I had a fantastic day yesterday at cp! my friend was so shocked, was just a lovely lovely day, makes me realise how much I love my friends, but then today has been horrid, dh is away and I really need support, we had app with accountant today he has royally fucked up and handed us a 5 grand tax bill which could finish the business off, I am in a mess my mum is in bits, she is too ill to be able to work for someone else and we dont know what to do! I feel like I need to do something for my mums sake she is at breaking point, I didnt want to leave her tonight :( dont need a reply, just wanted to get it out as im so worked up, I could knock the accountants fucking head off! Diet is going well I cant stomach any food!

Woodlands · 26/09/2011 20:16

He's appearing in a court case there (as a lawyer, not a defendant!). He seems to go there about once a week at the moment! Unfortunately there are now massive signalling problems outside King's Cross so there's a two hour delay, so god knows what time he'll get in, poor man.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 26/09/2011 20:18

Oh no memph that's terrible :( No practical advice from me unfortunately, just wanted to say I feel for you/your mam :(

WhatSheSaid · 26/09/2011 20:33

memphis just a quick one from me as I'm about to go out to drop A at pre-school btu several years ago dh had his own business and ended up owing some tax (and it was more than 5 grand too). Anyway, there was no way he could pay it off straight away but the Inland Revenue were very happy to arrange just paying off a certain amount a month, they are happier to get their money slowly than not at all. I don't know if it would be the same in the UK but it's worth aranging to talk to someone to see what can be sorted out.

thanks for replies! tsc He is a fucking idiot, we pay a fair whack for him to sort tax for us as we dont have a clue, the past 2 years we have been fined as he sent the forms too late, we also try to keep below the vat level and we have gone over that so have been stumped with a ridiculous bill for the last 8 months of vat, he has only just chose now to tell us, I had to walk out as I wanted to kill him and couldnt hold my temper, my mum just sobbed!
wss that is a reassuring read, I hope it gets sorted soon, we just have to wait for that knob jockey to call us back

MalibuStac · 26/09/2011 22:04

Oh goodness memphis he sounds a total knob, after you get this sorted get another accountant. My uncle had a similar problem but the outcome was the same as wss said, maybe you should get your stuff from him and get them double checked. Hope you get it sorted quick and your mums ok.

tsc your mil is a nutter. I did laugh at your reply to visiting at half term. Are you doing anything for C's birthday?

mlisc baby bots day looked fab. How was the food. Also agree I have no idea why you want to loose weight.

cakes I agree schools can be ott with homework in scotland we have recently adopted the curriculum for excellence which focuses on the things children excel at instead of forcing them to do subjects they can't do. Obviously they have to do english, maths and languages. But the programme starts from 3 years old all the way to 18 giving a better grasp of the child learning styles etc (hope that makes sense). I have no clue what a stiener school is. Also wouldn't send my kids to private school but that's personal choice oh and lack of money.

melissa how did L's op go?

chulita how you been keeping?

kk how's business school?

How's everyone else? I'm jUst off to bed, r is back at nursery tomorrow after 2 weeks off.

kkfairybrains · 26/09/2011 22:45

Oh dear memphis that sounds scary. What a twat :( . Really hope you can come to some arrangement thats not so harsh.
Woodlands thats a pure pain hope he gets home soon.
Stac its going well thanks! Bit boring but finding it very helpful. Hope R settles in ok again.

MalibuStac · 26/09/2011 23:17

Have you saw these Thanks

Chulita · 27/09/2011 07:44

memphis that's awful, what a horrible surprise. Sounds like maybe you need to shop around for a different accountant - he's not trustworthy if he sends stuff in late earning you fines and then waits for ages to spring this news on you. There are plenty of good quality acc around. Like others have said, the Inland Revenue is usually very understanding about stuff like this.

S is all snot dribbles at the mo, not good for my still over-sensitive stomach. I spend all day either wiping his trails or heaving...

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/09/2011 08:15

Thanks what are these in aid of then?

D is getting better at night, he's doing a solid 6 or 7 hours from when I go to bed which is nice. Going to get him his own big bed soon though which for the first time in my life will mean actually getting out of bed when he wakes in the night!

memphis83 · 27/09/2011 09:11

L slept from 6.30 til 6.30 then I passed him a bottle and he slept til 8.30!
dh think they are to say thanks to someone
chulita I know, we have been with him quite a few years as the one before was sharing our info with other but atleast he did the job and we never ever had stupid bills! how far gone are you now? are you getting bigger and is the weak stomach improving yet?
Well due to not getting my contaceptive injection for ages Im having my first period in years! Im slightly relieved as I was worried I was pg. dh still wants to try now, think we will try earlier than planned but not yet, just so I have a better chance of not being huge when we do get married! I rang somewhere up to enquire about size of venue and they asked when I planned so I said spring 2014 (not actually thought about it too much though), fully booked on weekends! Shock they said I will find this at lot of the venues where you spend the whole day, spoke to my friend and he is getting married in 2013 and he struggled to find somewhere! stupid, so may have to book somewhere and then forget about it til 6 months before

MelissaM · 27/09/2011 10:15

L is doing really well. He was first one into theatre. His op was very quick and I was called thru to recovery in less than 45 mins. He was very upset, and somehow they had managed to get his bear wet Hmm He cried for ages apart from when we both road on the trolley back to the ward (so I could keep cuddling him). Within an hour he was running round like a loon and escaping from the ward. You wouldn't have thought it was the same boy! He slept reasonably well only waking about 3 then 7. He's on fine form today.

memph that's awful. Like the others say if you contact HMRC they are usually understanding but your accountant is awful.

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't heard of Steiner schools. E goes to our local catholic primary and L will go.there too. No need to pay for private schools here as all the schools are excellent.

Nothing planned today as have to pick E up at 1 and there is a meeting b4 about how they are assessing the children this year. There was one about phonics yesterday but obviously I was a little busy at the hospital with L, but dh and mil went. Coffee with a friend after school run 2moro and then coffee at school b4 pick up.

kkfairybrains · 27/09/2011 11:12

Thats brilliant he's doing so well melissa!
I've never heard of a steiner school either. E is going to go to a small school just outside the town I live and i've heard nothing but good things about it. No need for private schools here and I actually don't know where there are any private schools!
Memph so when you going to book it? exciting stuff!! Was looking at pics of a girl I went to college with she got married in spain and it looked absolutely beautiful! Sometimes i'd love to go abroad to do it.
Had slimming world this morn and was only 1lb down. Thought i'd be more as I was 2 down on my scales at home.

memphis83 · 27/09/2011 11:58

kk it just seems ridiculous to book something to far away, but then I will be annoyed when we have to get married on a weekday if I left it too late, there are only about 3 venues that would be suitable because of distance, may think about it after xmas...or leave it til next summer..if I leave it long enough I may get my way and get a wedding abroad with no one to ruin it!
melissa glad he is doing to well and sweet that they let you ride on the trolley back!

Chulita · 27/09/2011 12:23

melissa that's great that he picked up so quickly! I hope it's all good news for him from now.

memphis that is ridiculous. We were only engaged 6 months, thankfully I had a friend who worked at a posh school so he booked the lot for us for free Grin. I can't believe things are booked up 3 years ahead!
16 weeks gone, still feel sick and I reckon I'm anaemic again cos I feel really weak and washed out all the time, a month til I'm halfway though :)

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/09/2011 14:55

Wow memph that is ridiculous. We were married within a year of being together, on a Sunday, with 120 daytime guests and 200+ evening!

At least it's 1lb off though kk :)

Schools locally aren't bad it's just I live in such a deprived area and I do worry about who the boys will become friends with as much as their education. Trying not to worry about it until secondary school though. And dh was born and bred here in shitsville and has done pretty well for himself. Although he was away in the army from 16...

Are you going to the doctors then chulita? You should be checked out if you think you're anaemic [don't envy you at all emoticon]

My children are both super tired. I don't think they've recovered from S
unday yet, so I thought we'd have a morning out and a chill-out afternoon in...but they're not happy about it...

memphis83 · 27/09/2011 15:29

chulita get yourself to the doctors!
I know it seems crazy to me, In that time until then I want to have another baby and move house, but the thing that is against us is we dont have a lot of leway, I dont want to get married at local regestry office as it is disgusting there, just like a heartless office and I wont get married in a church so hotels are our only option, there are only 2 big enough to house our friends at night within driving distance, The village cricket club has a marquee and it looks amazing but couldnt actually get married there and I would have to arrange everything myself where as I want a lazy one that is planned for me but who knows im not booking so early so I may not have a choice! (oh and I dont think we are bothering with an engagement I feel people will expect a party for that too if we do!)
mlic thats why we are moving before L goes to school the school here is shitter than shit, not the schooling its the kids themselves are vile on a whole!

Chulita · 27/09/2011 17:40

I can't go to the doctor's and say "I'm pg, got a nearly 3 year old and a 14 month old and I feel constantly drained" can I?!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 27/09/2011 17:50

No, but you can go and say 'I've suffered with anaemia in the past and feel the same way again, please can you do a blood test for me'

WhatSheSaid · 27/09/2011 18:02

Glad op went ok melissa

Yes you can Chul because they can check your iron levels and give you something for it can't they? Or are you already taking iron supplements?

Our local primaries are OK as far as I have heard, our local secondary is apparently improving loads but was pretty rubbish to start with. I would go private for secondary if we could afford it, that or move into a better school zone. Though our local one may be way better by then - it's a long way away. Secondary starts at 13 - they have intermediate schools here for age 11 and 12.

CakeandRoses · 27/09/2011 19:22

fuck fuckity!!!! she's given up sleeping. feel like shit warmed up and then allowed to cool and then reheated in the microwave :(
