Think I might go to the supermarket, in another town, to buy food I don't need, with three children, in my new car!

Why not Spring? I'd go the long way round as well Grin

Thanks HJ am really proud as the midwives were so negative- only last week one of them commented when I said how DD is fed 'Oh you are one of them are you' Confused not quite sure what she meant by that. I was speaking to a colleague the other day and his wife is doing the same- and she hasn't even got a pump!

Was thinking after what Mock was saying about her mum about the some of the strange ideas people have said to me about DD. I am sure I have said this before but my dad told me that you should wean by giving them chocolate so that they can learn to eat and then they can move on to other foods. He also has concerns that by doing blw DD will never learn how to use cutlery!?

DH told me that he thinks that taking DD to sign is a waste of time as babies don't even understand english Confused Confused I coouldn't even respond as I was so speechless Grin

Anyone else had any pearls of wisdom?

Where do they get these ideas from? My mum thinks almost everything should be sprinkled with sugar and that I am mean for giving DD a fruit compote without sugar....when its perfectly sweet as it is. It may explain why I had to have fillings in my milk teeth....

I am sure I will say stuff to DD when she's a mum that will make her think I am a loon....I'll probably say something like 'in my you exclusively bf'd until they were 6 months then weaned' and she'll be horrified because the recommendation will be EBFing until they're 8 months or something Grin.

BP I am very impressed with your expressing. How much can you manage in one sitting? The most I got was 110mls first thing in the morning when away from DD last week. Normally I get between 50-100mls, though sometimes my right boob refuses to produce anything. Not surprising really when in the middle of the night letdown takes about 5 mins.

That would be 'in my day Blush.

TribbleWithoutACause · 11/08/2011 12:22

BP Muchos respect , how many times a day do you express?

Spring Go for it!

Mock Well in my day we weaned babies by having a stern conversation on the day they turned six weeks old about the merits of food and once that was over we'd give them a flat cap and let them get on with it. Never did me any 'arm.Grin

DS is ill today, he's been up all night with a temperature, poor thing. I'm off work with him, he's also off his milk a bit so I'm getting a bit uncomfortable at the moment.

Is anyone else watching the parlimentary debate on the riots? (yes nohun I am a []), it's actually quite interesting, plus, David Cameron looks a tad uncomfortable.

We've had a morning out & just going shopping now. I'll probably watch the highlights later with dd2.

I have just took a video of dd tring to stand up and she was crawling very fast :) My camera on my phone has gone very blurry though Hmm
Can anyone recommend a good camcorder, I do own one but have been asking dh to get it working and show me how to use it for months Hmm

Great, I love a debate and if DC looks uncomfortable all the better! I hope everyone has stayed safe. I was wondering where ILGH was, wasn't it London ish?

I think she moved to Hertfordshire. I saw her post on something the other day so she is around.

Well done to your DD Ty! I have a Panasonic Kumix DMC-TZ7. It takes photos and film and its very good.

:) @ [] Tribble! Did you see my copied open letter to DC on Fb? :)

I thought Essex for ILGH. Glad she is around!

Monster, we have a Vixia HF200 (Canon), am very happy with it, but it's a couple of years old now.

Oh, and someone deleted me on Fb, I assume because I pulled her up on her stupid chain status update about how the reason we are having these riots is slack immigration laws and parents not smacking their children. Oh dear.

Cheers, I have googled. I have a digital camera so may just put up with that for now. But I liked the canon one but v expensive Grin

NoHun I have had that status doing it s rounds with my friends. Hmm
Mostly though my friends have been sensible with their comments :)
I think the police have done brilliantly this last week and should be rewarded by the government.

Nohun Well done you, I've seen a fair few of them myself on my FB. Don't really like it tbh. There was one going around about sending them to Afganistan, because thats a sensible option isn't it. Lets train them to use firearms and explosives. Hmm I did see the letter, I do think politicians have a cushy option but then again I wouldn't like to do their jobs. I don't think I'm bitchy enough.

I have had it from two old schoolfriends, so not proper friends. I pulled both up on it. The other one had another friend (who I don't know) engage me in 'debate', ended up calling me an eco tree-hugging freak, which I think was meant as an insult, but I took it as a compliment! :)
No loss that one has deleted me - I don't choose racists for friends, but I don't delete racists/ignoramuses as I hope maybe I'll get through to them.

I do not envy the police their job.

Ha ha re Currys!

Hello everyone :)

Day one job training and day two for the dc at childminders today. I'm now shattered. Luckilynthey are too, so they are asleep. It's ginenpretty well, he wants to up my hours to 20+Saturday's, so I'll be earning enough for childcare, phew!

We have also accepted an over on our house, so fingers crossed the sale gies through. We will walk away with no debt but no deposit thanks to the crash, so are just counting our blessings (rather than the 24k deposit we will not get :( :( ) bloody lucky not to be worse though, plenty of peopl are. Now we will only have the flat rent, not worry about tenants and a mortgage, and may actually be able to buy a home down here eventually!

I have purposely avoided fb and the rest of mn since these riots. I can't be arsed listening to the right wing bile. Nice to hear DC take the opportunity to infringe as many human rights and ethics as he can in the process grrrr. They are criminal idiots but it's such a complex situation.Theemergency services deserve more than a pension/pay/rights/budget cut after the efforts of the last week (but it's ok, as DC won't affect frontline staff Hmm)

I have remained remarkably impassive (for me Wink) about the whole rioting thing. Just worried for those I know in the hotspots. The calls for the army to be sent in made me raise an eyebrow. They're not riot trained like the police are. Also Hmm at someone's comment not to send in the military as they are trained to kill people. Thats not the main thrust of our job.....

Anyhoo! Sorry to hear that your DS is poorly Trib. I hope he starts to feel better soon. DD's face rash cleared up when I'd rinsed all the detergent out of her stuff. I am going to get some of those washing balls. NoHun what are they called?

Oh dear NoHun. I've had a bit of a time with my dad. I think I've probably said that he's a mixed blessing an as you don't know me I can at least say it here...when we talked about the riots earlier this week his opinions were frankly utterly racist Blush. I was so embarrassed on the phone I didn't know what to say. He's says things like, I'm not racist, it just true that...these are the facts. Oh the the terrible shame of it all. He genuinely believes that he right and that I am too moderate and sensitive. I feel like I need therapy because my Dad is racist.
