Welcome to our cosy, new thread.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
busyprocrastinating · 14/11/2011 19:24

Nohun I will get the photos put on fb. That would be funny if we were due together again- maybe we should aim for 12/12/12 seing as though we just missed 10/10/10!
Hope your DD is feeling better Mock

NoHunIntended · 14/11/2011 21:19

:) 12/12/12 is great! Am aiming for ASAP though, so if we get pg this cycle, it will be end of July. Still a bit sad I missed 10/10/10 by 18 hours!

Will keep an eye on Fb!

TribbleToilandTrouble · 15/11/2011 17:45

We're aiming for two and a half years as a minimum, I don't want two under two and both still in nappies. I love DS but he is enough for now.

Plus I have just started to feel normal for the first time in over 18 months and I don't want to enter into that hormonal state just yet. With what happened last time I want DS to be a bit more independant as well, just in case I and my hips give out again.

Work is having a bit of a laugh, got in today to an email from the boss saying. 'Oh Tribs, you don't appear to have factored in a training day into your shifts. I need you to factor this in asap as blardy blardy blah' and lots of other stuff. I was so livid, does this man not get 'I have childcare to arrange!!!'. I think I can manage it, however that is not the bloody point!

Nohun Are you charting and the like? I was a bit of a geek with that, I had an app and everything [].

Mock Oh poor DD!!

BP Oh that would be such a cool day to give birth!!! As I am such a geek, you need to be aiming for the first day of your last period to be on the 7/03/12.

NoHunIntended · 15/11/2011 17:55

You are young enough to wait, TTT. I have ten years on you, so do not.
Am not charting, just going with the flow, may start that stuff if we are not pg in six months or so. I know when my most fertile week is, that's as far as our planning goes.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 16/11/2011 13:13

I did post earlier, but lost internet connection. so here is the abridged version! DD and I have colds. She's shrugging hers off well, I got sent home from work yesterday!

NoHun thank you so much for the tea- thankfully it tastes good! I think the low supply may be period linked. I do not know if it is vegan, but for TTCing have you heard of preseed? Its a lube that specifically helps with TTCing and when your bfing extra stuff like that can only be helpful (and nice).

HJ you make sense!

Trib stupid bosses- one asked me the other day if I would just nip to N.Yorks for the day Hmm not the easiest with no one to call upon to help take DD to and from the childminders and look after her in the evening!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 16/11/2011 13:16

www.preseed.co.uk It is vegan.

DillyDora · 16/11/2011 13:34

Hi All! Sorry for those with colds. Horrid. We propped DS's mattress up slightly when he had a real stinker and it helped a lot. God, our house reeked of Karvol for a month though!

Good luck TTCers then! I'll be thinking of you...err..hang on...that doesn't sound right. I don't know, I think our nerves might not take another - pg was a bit difficult, birth was just plain ridiculous and we've had some major money hassles since then....we'll see. Plus I'll be 40 next May so I suppose it's more risky disky. Ho hum.

mock I don't know about supply but I get very very sore nipples when I'm ovulating so I do think your menstrual cycle has some effect.

Trib yes your bosses are daft. But don't you working mums just hate having to say 'Um..hello! Childcare?!' or are you cool about it?

Here's a thing - I just got my bonus but they'd pro rata'd it as I was on mat leave. The bonus is based on hitting targets, not how many days you're in the office. I hit all mine so I should get my full bonus, right? When I queried it I was told that if I worked part time then it would be pro rata'd so the same rule applies. But I wasn't working part time, I was off on mat leave....so I think I will pursue it, t'ain't fair!

Oops, sorry, long post
xx

p.s. hello busy did I know you from the old thread? Have you had a name change? Smile

NoHunIntended · 16/11/2011 13:56

Mock, glad you like the tea. DH thought it stank, I quite liked it! :) And thanks re the preseed info.
Get well soon.

Dilly, I'll be 38 in April, sounds SO old, doesn't it! But I don't feel old at all. I was lucky with an easy pregnancy, and though labour was more painful than I ever imagined, it hasn't put me off wanting to do it again.
Hope you get the bonus you deserve - they will try anything to keep money, won't they!

DillyDora · 16/11/2011 15:06

nohun as you say, it sounds old but it isn't!! I only feel old because I'm tired what with working having a lovely wriggly DS. Did you ever sort out all your work disputes?

NoHunIntended · 16/11/2011 15:13

:) They are lovely and wriggly, aren't they!

I will update you all re my work dramas when I have things concrete, which should be at the end of this month. Not meaning to be cryptic, but I want things firmed up, just on the off-chance they are stalking me on here!

DillyDora · 16/11/2011 15:23

You mean it's still ongoing?! Noooooo!

NoHunIntended · 16/11/2011 15:55

Well, it's actually a good-ish result, but until it is signed off, I don't want to a) jinx it or b) have them stalk me here! I promise to fill you in in less than two weeks!

tiredfeet · 16/11/2011 20:05

Fingers crossed re your work nohun and for you too dilly . trib I'm sorry your work are being difficult!

Good luck to those ttc, how exciting! We are leaving it at least another year I think, I was so ill with hyperemesis last time so I want ds to be a little bit older and more able to cope if the same happens again.

Busy buying christmas presents for ds, mainly some books (am a bookaholic Blush and stocking fillers) I think I'll hang back from buying loads and see what others get him as our family aren't the type to consult with us!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 16/11/2011 20:56

I forgot to say earlier, DD has started walking Smile. Max 10 steps for now. So pleased for her! She doesn't walk as carefree as the vid of TTT's DS on FB but really carefully and with great concentration!

Anyone taken their DC for the MMR and booster? Did they do them at the same time? DD has a nurses appt on Friday and I don't know what the score is down here. Back oop north it would have been both at the same time. How did your DC cope and did anyone bf straight afterwards?

TribbleToilandTrouble · 16/11/2011 21:00

Nohun Gosh, I hope it all goes well for you.

Dilly I had a MAJOR strop in a bathroom and threw my jacket on the floor when I read that particular email. The annoying thing is, is that when I originally put in my flexi request I was told that the training was on a Wednesday (which I can actually cover) and they've since moved it to a Tuesday morning (which I can't quite do). They're going to move it back to a Wednesday next year though . It doesn't help that my all my isshoos were work related, so it did set me off a bit. I think I can manage it for the next while, I just need to speak with my childcare people.

Other than the above, work is actually going ok. I feel like I'm slowly getting my confidence back and am managing to deal with things a lot better than I was before.

Urmmmmmm apart from that, DS is attempting to walk. He can actually cover the length of the living room now. Also I'm begining to regret getting him the kitchen, he sat there today for ages just slamming the doors. I got slightly shouty.

busyprocrastinating · 17/11/2011 16:39

Nohun I am not expecting to fall pg quickly. It took ages with DD- the end of July seems really close! But as Trib has told me when I need to conceive for the 12/12/12 baby i will aim for that! Hope that your work things go through ok and you get the result you want.

Dilly I was Sam12- I forgot that I'd named changed to something slightly less dull! I agree with that not been fair about your work thing. They are supposed to treat maternity as if you were still working I am sure.

Mock DD had her injection on Tuesday and they did it all at once. Dh took her and said she squealed when they did it but was absolutely fine afterwards and no side efects so far. Although the information sheet said some of the side effects can occur between 5-10 days afterwards.

We went shopping yesterday and DD ended up with some more xmas pressies- oops. We didn't bother taking the pram and DD looked so grown up toddling around. I think I will have to face the fact she is no longer a baby but a toddler. I had been to see my friends newborn as well which really made me realise how much DD has grown up.

NoHunIntended · 17/11/2011 17:05

bp, I know, I feel like I have a toddler, not a baby. Well, he will always be my baby, even when he's 30! :)

Hope you get pg as soon as you start trying!

Mock, DS had his booster and the MMR in one go a few weeks ago, was absolutely fine.

TTT, glad work is feeling better for you. Don't let them get away with any nonsense.

Thanks all for the kind thoughts re my work situation, I will fill you in when things are sorted once and for all!

DillyDora · 18/11/2011 15:37

Hi all

Thanks also for encouragement about work. I am going to write a stern letter on Monday.

Lovely to hear about little tiddlers toddling. DS does what my bro calls 'zombie walking', (did I tell you this?) staggering along for a few steps, arms out, mouth open, panting...then stops and collapses in a heap - hilarious! Or stops, beams and flings himself into my arms...teary eyed mummy then!

Have a lovely weekend all, mind out at the shops Wink

NoHunIntended · 18/11/2011 15:58

Aw, aren't the cuddles just amazing! DS is a cuddly bug too - I get loads! :)

HarrietJones · 18/11/2011 18:22

Dd3 is v kissy today she's just stopped mid feed to give me a milky kiss!

NoHunIntended · 18/11/2011 21:37

Awwwwwwwww!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 18/11/2011 22:42

DD had her jabs today and was very very brave and barely cried. I was very proud of her. Grin at all the cute wriggly babies! I love it when DD smiles at me when she's feeding, especially when I'm doing something like pretending to eat her hand or such like Smile.

NoHunIntended · 20/11/2011 00:46

Hope your DD is still fine after her jabs, Mock.

Bought DS some Christmas presents today (Amazon, so don't actually have them yet). Got him a tunnel/tent combo, bath crayons, and a jigsaw. Oh, and a Christmas book. Feeling very excited for Christmas, ooh, I love it. Also bought my Christmas PJs, and some for DS. DH has new lounge pants too, but they aren't especially festive.
Five weeks to go!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 20/11/2011 10:00

Wow, only 5 weeks!! DD is doing fine thank you NoHun and is currently tugging on my sleeve for more toast (homemade caraway seed bread-yum). Before Christmas though, I have DH coming home for a fortnight and also both of our birthdays 8 days and 5 days beforehand.

DD has a tunnel tent combo we got from Aldi and she loves it. Are you going to have a tree up and how do you intend to stop it from getting pulled over? We have an artificial tree as I don't agree with killing or uprooting a tree so it can slowly die in a room too hot for it, but I haven't figured out how I am going to keep it safe! Perhaps it could sit in the playpen.....

HarrietJones · 20/11/2011 10:25

Dd1 didn't bother when she was a baby. With dd2 it was in a cage for years as she tried to climb it. Think dd3 will too so it's going behind bars!
