Hello Tyson :)

Leaf fossils-that would have been very cool. We were only getting ammonites in clay, but didn't venture far along the beach-it was also very busy by the time we left. I think a trip after a winter storm is required if DH is going to find the dinosaur he is after Grin

busyprocrastinating · 30/08/2011 17:30

Hi all Smile just caught up on all your news.
Had a crazy long weekend down in Devon for my debut as a bridesmaid Grin The wedding was absolutely lovely and they had a fab Irish band at night, I really enjoyed it (I must admit I usually find weddings a tad boring) and DD looked very cute in her little dress.
Unfortunately the day after it all went a bit pear shaped when my car died and we had to be towed off the dual carriageway. We had to hire a car to come home as DH had work- the train fare would have been £110 each!!- so we got home a couple of hours ago and my car is still down there- hopefully been fixed as we speak, am dreading the bill Sad
I also nearly just had a mini breakdown as my laptop wouldn't work and I need it for work and am back on Thursday but Blush it was just that I had stuck the wrong wire in it.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 30/08/2011 20:42

Oh BP, that was a rubbish end to your long weekend! I hope it gets sorted soon.

Good idea about the post storm trip Seashells. Thats when I went. Shortly after we went onto Lulworth it chucked it down so we had a lucky escape.

Welcome back Ty!

HarrietJones · 31/08/2011 07:18

V quick post to say I'm back at work today & panicking!
Can't think straight & dh is just steering me around. Hoping I'm more in control when I get in the car( in fact I'm not even sure where it's parked) and dh didn't clean it for me

TribbleWithoutACause · 31/08/2011 08:17

HJ I know it's tough, the first day back is always a bit horrid but you will get through this and before you know it, it will be over. Are you in all day? Who is DD3 with today?

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 31/08/2011 08:36

Good luck HJ. Remember to breathe. You will be ok.

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 31/08/2011 09:41

Good luck HJ! It will be better than you think, once you get going again, it's tough though.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 31/08/2011 10:17

HJ good luck today, is your job a busy one as at least then the time will go by quickly.

Bored, bored , bored.Like being in a new job . Waiting for work handed over

Pumped twice cos dd3 didn't feed this am. Started lunch at 10:30. updated my outlook calendar & changed my passwords.

NoHunIntended · 31/08/2011 12:56

Aw, HJ, you'll get through it. Good luck.

busyprocrastinating · 31/08/2011 14:27

hj hope it is going ok at work. Have you gone back full or part time?

I was up all night being sick and still feeling ropey now which isn't good when I'm back at work tomorrow.

NoHunIntended · 31/08/2011 15:03

Pg, bp?

TribbleWithoutACause · 31/08/2011 16:26

HJ Hows it going? Hope they're treating you well.

BP Oh how rubbish, I am sorry it all went a bit Pete Tongue.

Nohun Oh BTW have just bought a HL fitted nappy, DS seems to be out piddling his pockets and we're getting leaks at the front. I think it's because he's commando crawling. His flips seem to be working best at the moment but we'll see.

Talking of pregnancy, a lot of people I know seem to be getting pregnant with twins. Theres a little voice in the back of my head that keeps taunting me, 'you know when you start trying again, it'll be twins for you' .

tiredfeet · 31/08/2011 17:52

Hope your day got more interesting hj

bp that's not good, hope you have a better night tonight.
Dh did the entire night shift last night for the first time ever, so why do I feel more tired?

NoHunIntended · 31/08/2011 18:03

Trib, your HL nappy is leaking? Or your pocket nappies are leaking? What does your HL look like?

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be pg with twins! Please let it be me!!!

Thinking of you, HJ.

HarrietJones · 31/08/2011 18:04

BP hope you're ok.

Day didn't get much more interesting, visit from ababy didn't help. Nice new boss left chocolate & a welcome card on my desk which helped! Not got any work yet, shouldn't moan too much as it will be chaos in a couple of weeks but was a v slow boring day. And my pump packed up so I'm sore now:(

TribbleWithoutACause · 31/08/2011 18:51

Nohun No my pockets are leaking a bit at the front. I got one preloved, it's yellow and has a lion on the back. .

HJ What pump do you have?

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 31/08/2011 19:31

HJ I have a spare medela pump I can send you if you would like it. PM me if you do. At least your day was not a baptism by fire.

Trib I caveat this with the fact that I do not have a boy, but my sister had the same trouble and she found it happened when his penis wasn't facing down, so she made sure it was at nappy change to stop the leaks at the top.

I am seeing baby twins all over the place atm, mostly identical ones. If I had twins and they fed like DD as newborns I'd have no idea how I'd bf as DD fed for an hour at a time and has always needed both sides for a feed.

Hope you're feeling better BP.

HarrietJones · 31/08/2011 19:55

It's a cheapy boots one. Manual. Dh had a fiddle & seems to have the suction back now. I'll have a play tomorrow. Don't need it til Monday now anyway,

busyprocrastinating · 31/08/2011 19:58

Thanks- I've just braved eating for the first time today and so far so good. Am not pg though nohun though I did wonder the other week. I'm another one who would love twins. There are loads in dh's family so had my fingers crossed with dd.
Sounds like a good new boss hj

TribbleWithoutACause · 31/08/2011 21:26

Mock I think it's because he's on his tummy all the time so pee sort of pools faster than the nappy can absorb it. We'll see how we go though.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 31/08/2011 22:25

I can imagine Trib. Most of the wee in DD's nappies is at the front. I have decided that the popper minki pocket nappies are the ones I like best and I found them for about £5 a pop at Tinynippers (they seem identical to baba and boo and even have the same patterns) so all I need is some more and a bucket. I bought some liners suitable for sewage treatment plants although I do find changing DD harder as she's dead wriggly and its hard to keep the liner in place when I put the nappy on. I thought aplix would be easier but I actually found it harder! The little lamb ones are fine but I prefer the minki fabric.

DD told me, in context, that she was tired today! She rubbed her eyes and said I'm tired! So sweet! I think she hears me say it a lot Wink. She still won't say Mama though! When I say it to her she says baa baa back to me. Her stock conversation is however variations of yeah yeah....

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 01/09/2011 16:59

Have I killed the thread?!

TribbleWithoutACause · 01/09/2011 17:46

Mock I believe you did. Wink

Nohun I saw this thread and felt that you'd love having a read. Although reading it myself has me half convinced I want a gaggle of children. I can always get one of these.

NoHunIntended · 01/09/2011 18:15

:) Haven't read all of it yet, but I will do! I still would like a big houseful. Cute bunk-cots, though we'll co-sleep til they are old enough for a proper bed.
