Trib- we've seen loads of Mormons here too. Wonder if theyve targeted our area as heathens?or we seem to know a high proportion of practising Christians here compared to our old house so possibly they just think they've got to convert people rather than start from scratch. Once at my old house I had two very old totally stereotypical Irish catholic ladies try to convert me. Was slightly surreal as they were so much the stereotype. I half thought it was a joke Blush. They almost passed out at the fact none of us were christened.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 27/08/2011 09:55

I wasn't christened as my dad wanted me to experience the different facets of christianity before making up my own mind, so I went to a Calvinist school, methodist sunday school, then a CofE school, then a catholic one then one that practised nothing. As a result I would say I have faith rather than am religious and I am still not christened. I would like DD to be able to make up her own mind too.

I've interviewed quite a few Mormons looking to join the military.

BFF as your DS is allergic to cows milk are you weaning him onto formula or are you just finding alternative sources of calcium in other foods for him?

HarrietJones · 27/08/2011 12:10

Wow at the variety of schools Mock! I'm a great believer in children making the decision as they grow up. Currently dd2 is a Buddhist and dd1 is an atheist apart from Christmas and easter

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 27/08/2011 12:52

I went to 7 different schools. Fortunately I never moved schools at a vital time like the middle of GCSEs or anything.

bestfootforwards · 27/08/2011 14:01

mock he has a special hypoallergenic formula, we had to get him used to drinking it before nine months anyway, as it tastes horrible (but he now loves it). He also has calcium and other supplements. Its a big faff but so worth it as his eczema improved so much since we got to the bottom of it. I just fume at how long it took to get diagnosed, but that's another story.

SpringFlowers · 27/08/2011 19:59

A bit late but my Friday five:

1, What are you doing on Monday?
We are going sailing. DD2 is learning and has to spend lots of time on the water so that she can do her RYA2 in September.

2, What colour pants do you have on?
Red. They're new and have no visible lines and feel lovely to wear.

3, Favourite could not live without Mascara/make up item and why?
I like my Clarins foundation, it's a new kind and smells nice and is a good match for my own colour.

4, Favourite go to recipe for LO at the moment?
Chilli & rice. DD loves it and always eats more than there is.

5, What's on your to read list?
Loads...still haven't started War & Peace, I want to read The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing and I have bought One Moment, One Morning (I think that's what it's called) but haven't started it yet.

NoHunIntended · 27/08/2011 22:24

Mock, that is some education! Wow!

Spring, I'd love to be able to sail. We will learn, maybe as a family when DS (and any other DC we may yet have) is/are old enough. I'd LOVE a boat!

HarrietJones · 28/08/2011 10:38

Think there may be a tooth. Feeling like a sharp bit now.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 28/08/2011 10:51

Aah, the last of the gummy grins HJ. I miss them!

HarrietJones · 28/08/2011 16:44

Definately a tooth, can see the line now. Days of chin biting wil soon be over.

Hips bad at the moment ( I've a thread in health if anyone wants to be kindWink). spending a lot of time laying on my side as it doesn't hurt as much. Dd3 comes & lifts my top up for milk. Dd2 was in stitches as her doing it standing up yesterday.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 28/08/2011 21:43

Smile HJ. Sorry to hear about the hips,

Trying to upload photos on FB and its being a PITA!

NoHunIntended · 28/08/2011 22:00

I'm no hip expert, so I'll just say get well soon to you here, HJ.

And oooh at all the new teeth arriving!

DS also lifts or pulls down my top when standing - as well as having great fun pinging the elastic on my bra straps! Cheeky scamp.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 28/08/2011 22:11

Aah yes, the strap pinging. I think DD will be an archer in the future as she pulls the strap with the same manner as an archer and waits then releases for maximum effect.....

HarrietJones · 28/08/2011 22:27

Just been looking at your pics mock!
And yours nohun!
And someone else (BFF)?

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 28/08/2011 22:47

Yes thats BFF. When are we going to see your little one HJ?!

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 29/08/2011 08:05

HJ-I hope you get better soon! It's been far too long for you :(
Spring-I hope you get sailing today, it looks beautiful out there.
Mock-wow! So what religious persuasion did you end up after all that iyswim?!!! Must have been fascinating :)
FB is fun to see all your lo, they are changing so quickly it's mad.

Well I'm holding the fort at home today as dh is off gadding around with a friend. I have got my own back by having 1.5hrs lie in this morning (so it was only until 7.30 but hey, it feels gooooood!)

Have a happy bank holiday Monday everyone!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 29/08/2011 16:56

Seashells Christian with no sub-category thereof!

I am soo tired, I have no idea how I am going to fare with this whole baby/work thing if I am so shattered at the moment! DH reckons it will be easier as I won't be looking after her all day. I am not sure that work is less tiring....I may be totally wrong though!

TribbleWithoutACause · 29/08/2011 18:23

seashells oh sounds nice.

mock it is tiring but you do get used to it eventually.

I managed to spill an enormous cup of tea all down my leg and feet, I did run them under cold water but I still feel sore. Oh well.

HarrietJones · 29/08/2011 18:38

Ouch trib!

One more day then I'm back to work :(

Dd3 teething big time, think the second is on it's way too. V sore ( think she was gutted her sandwich hurt at lunchtime!). We went down the meds route today which seems to help but not easy to get in her!

tiredfeet · 29/08/2011 18:56

seashells well done on the lie in, weird that once that would have felt like an early start!

Have gone back to old name, other one took too long to type lazybones

Took ds on a ferry to the isle of wight today, with loads of family (they sailed over and we waved at them!), was lovely but I'm shattered now

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 29/08/2011 19:49

Grin mock, I guess that was the only feasible outcome with that many school experiences!

TF - gorgeous day down here wasn't it? I may be sunburnt ever so slightly, like this Blush

HJ - this week will be tough, but I hope it gets easier for you-thinking of you :)

Tribs-have you got aloe vera in the house? Really helps with burns :)

A good day had by all, dh survived his sportiness!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 29/08/2011 20:01

I am soo jealous of your day out Seashells! Last time I was there we had crab hotpot for lunch at Lulworth Cove Smile.

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 29/08/2011 20:18

It's so gorgeous down there! Did you like my fossil, I was most proud, dh was sulking Grin I'm envious of crab hotpot yum yum yum!

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 29/08/2011 21:38

Yes I thought it was fab Grin. When we went there every rock I overturned a hundred little insects covered their faces and shouted 'ARGHH MY EYES!'. We found loads of leaf fossils. We also went to Seaton and I got a 3 inch chunk of Ammonite out of a hunk of clay. I was very pleased with myself! Smile.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 29/08/2011 23:52
