reastie sorry about your grandpa, it's always a shock when it happens whether it's expected or not. I agree with the militant faction of evening guarders, I would just say she goes to bed then, end of. But then the PILs are not even allowed to ring the house phone after 7pm so I am possibly a bit scary. Did snort at the biddy zumba though.

wiggles Grin at the condoms, and the fact that you have a designated drawer!

needto wedding venues are ridiculous aren't they? They hike the prices up so much. I remember a posh uni friend asking why we didn't just put up a marquee in my parents back garden. Er cos it would have to be the size of a wendy house Hmm

delia good luck for next week, glad the nursery okay. Am papping my pants a little bit for you though.

Right, going to make a hot chocolate after getting soaked to the skin in a rain shower. Was sunny when I left and as soon as I got back into the house Angry. I also got splooshed by a stoopid bus Angry. Actually sod the hot chocolate I'm getting a whiskey, even my knickers were soaked!

WeAreBorg · 16/08/2011 15:28

Knickers soaked from rain not wee might I add! I am continent!! (proud)

reastie · 16/08/2011 15:44

borg we have a designated drawer too Hmm Shock Wink . Btw your friends helpful comment on marquee isn't that helpful anyway - I actually looked into hiring a big marquee in the garden for my wedding reception and they are Shock expensive esp when you add up extras like flooring/chairs/tables etc etc

janedoe25 · 16/08/2011 15:49

Afternoon all,

I am pmsl at the elephant towel thread!Grin

wiggles Grin at your condom drawer and well done MR wiggles for checking the dates! Shock

reastie Grin a zumba gold.

needto we booked the first venue we see purely because of the price. We get canapes/champagne, 4 course meal, 3 drinks with dinner, drink to toast speeches, evening buffet, chair covers and sashes, table centre pieces, cake, dj, my make-up and a room for the wedding night (for 80 guests) for £3595!

borg well done on being continent!

ILovePonyo · 16/08/2011 16:13

Hello all, well I have survived my weekend with the IL's, was ok but I am so glad to be home! MIL did my head in but thats no surprise Hmm Not got time to post stories but I'll try and get some on later Grin

reastie sorry about your G'pa, hope you're ok. Glad it was peaceful.

I've had a quick catch up, saw hubbard has been back on just the once is it? Hope she is ok.

How did I miss that towel elephant thread?! Hilarious stuff, and granny zumba for reastie Grin Btw I bought that wii fit zumba (the one with the belt) and am planning on doing it tonight when dp is out, am fed up of my big fat tummy. However we will see how regularly wii zumba takes place...

Off to sort stuff out now, how exciting, oh it was dd's 6 month birthday on the 14th - yay!

Emski76 · 16/08/2011 18:06

Hi all
Delia, good luck with work next week, its always a relief when your little one settles in ok. It's come round so quickly!
Reastie, good luck with zumva gold, should be fun if nothing else! Look forward to hearing your stories!
Hope your all ok

knittakid · 16/08/2011 20:36

So sorry about your grandpa reastie
wow can't believe some of you are going back to work! I thought i might do that at 3 months when my ma wasn't going to go through, what a fool! Barely can leave p with dh for a couple of hours... Just a quick update round here, we had a great week camping, today i had my first counselling session and p's crawlling!
Xxx to you all

MizK · 16/08/2011 20:37

Hi all, back from hols so just lazing about catching up on rest (and MN).
couldn't believe all the riot stuff that kicked off, been scanning the thread and glad everybody seemed to be OK, scary stuff.
hubbard very sad about your dog, completely heartbreaking for you I'm sure, especially as it was your dog who I'm sure you loved lots. It was completely not your fault, we had a dog but rehomed him when I got pregnant purely because he was v hard work, most people try to keep their dogs so you absolutely mustn't feel guilty. Hope your DS is OK, surgeons are so skilled they will be so careful with him and make sure he comes through good as new.
reastie also sorry to hear about your grandad, hope you and your family are as well as can be expected. Just to add my two pennies re your PILS....I actually think that you should let them round one evening and keep Alice up. Controversial maybe, but if you do it and she screams and carries on, they will see that its a bad time and won't hassle again, and if she is happy and they get lots of snuggles, they will be pleased, your DH will be happy and you might get a warm fuzzy glow at being such a sweet DIL.... just my thoughts, its sometimes much easier to go with things cause saying No is obviously stressing you out.
ponyo updates re PILs eagerly anticipated.
Borg please dont brag about continience, things can be touch and go chez MizK at times (don't make me laugh or sneeze is all I'm saying (wink) )
Love to everyone else!

Will put pics on in a min, Cassia was so angelic despite travelling all over! paris was lovely but a bit cold, but Toulouse, Orleans and especially Barcelona were amaze. I want to live in bracelona, its just fabulous, the weather, the people, the food - wish I was still there!

janedoe25 · 16/08/2011 21:02

knitta wow to P crawling! Glad you had a good week and i hope the counselling went well.

mizk your hol sounded fantastic!

hubbard how are you and T? Hope you are ok.

Emski76 · 16/08/2011 21:13

Gorgeous pics MizK, and how great do you look!! Glad you had a good break.
Knittakid, well done to P fir crawling! Hope your first counselling sesh went well
Where is Ledkr? Did the shopping ever get put away?

wigglesrock · 16/08/2011 21:39

MizK gorgeous photos, Barcelona was the first place we went to after Sofia was born (without her) we had such a fantastic time. We keep meaning to go back, deffo my fave place, to be completely honest I think I preferred it to New York Shock I agree WeAreBorg no boasting by stealth about your pelvic floor Grin

knittakid so glad you had a fab time and counselling went well!

jane no update on the delectable Mr Leto - will keep you posted.

Just to reassure you that we don't have a gold plated condom drawer, full of different flavours, textures [snigger], sizes [chance would be a fine thing!], I just thought it sounded better than knicker drawer Grin

OP posts:
WeAreBorg · 16/08/2011 22:19

mizk your holiday sounds amazing and Cassia is so pretty. I like the way you airbrushed your photos so your legs look so long and toned

wiggles both you and reastie have magnificent alphabetised days of the week condom drawers and don't you tell me you just plonk them in with your pants like the rest of us.

knitta good luck for the counselling, and hooray for clever pablo!

Waiting for your update ponyo

Ha ha yes everyone, I am continent!!! I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Grannyapple · 16/08/2011 22:19

mizk fab pics! Had to laugh when I read ur profile comment about guilty obsession with the real housewives of wherever...I too share same guilty pleasure...I find that I need to sit down every afternoon to watch the real housewives of orange county on itv 2! My sis is the same..she's been addicted since being on school hols (teacher)!

knitta wow,crawling already?!

Borg..well jel re pelvic floor...have been getting back into the gym & have had a few cheeky wee 'incidents' during some of the classes...tis horrible! Sooo need to work on the old pelvic floor exercises!

WeAreBorg · 16/08/2011 22:22

Quick question before I forget, N hasn't pooed for 8 days Shock, would you stop food at this point and stick with milk do you think? He's fine but producing the vilest farts known to man. I've tried to give him water but he just pours it on himself and laughs, any ideas/should I be worried?

WeAreBorg · 16/08/2011 22:25

x-post granny I was meaning to ask you if people call your Nate Nate or Nathaniel. When I tell people his name they say things like, "ooh that's a big name for a little baby", or "I'll just call him Nathan I think", or sometimes look blank Confused. It's not that difficult is it??

debka · 17/08/2011 06:19

Hey everyone

borg keep feeding but maybe give him some extra fruit juice/pureed fruit/prunes. Prune juice always worked with Imy. Don't give him too many bananas either. And don't be surprised if when he finally does poo if it's quite big and hard and there's blood on it. Imy was like this for a while, had to give her lots of fruit and she was ok.

Grin at condom drawers, bet mrwiggles has them all compartmentalised for wiggles pleasure Grin

knitta WOW CRAWLING!!!

mizk sounds like you had a brilliant time, maybe when my girls are both old enough to be left we might take a trip to Barcelona too.

Well it's 6am and I'm up but my little cutie pie is still asleep! She had a wiggle about and a kick at 5.30 which woke me (bloody thin walls), but went back off again. Think I need to start going to bed a bit later Shock

janedoe25 · 17/08/2011 07:26

compartmentalised condom drawer for wiggles pleasure - LOVE IT Grin

borg what debka says about constipated baby! Defo stay away from bannanas. Would he drink some watered down Orange juice?

Much excitment here, i have bookeed my hen night up! I am having an over night stay in Edinburgh, booked a boogie bus to take us there and a cocktail class thing at hard rock cafe. So excited!

Think im going to head into town today, hoping to catch a glimpse of Brad Pitt! He is filming his new film (world war Z, a zombie film) in George Square, it has been made up to look like downtown Philladelphia!

Ladies fingers crossed AF stays away for me, im trying not to think about it too much but i was feeling sicky all day yesyerday and threw up at dinner time Shock Probably all in my head though!

debka · 17/08/2011 07:33

jane fingers and toes crossed for you today :) When will you POAS? Got all excited about your hen night then remembered I only know you on the internet so wouldn't be invited! Grin Hmm

Well Bina woke at 7.15 in the end- she slept for twelve hours

debka · 17/08/2011 07:34

BTW jane am v Envy of seeing BP, take your camera!

janedoe25 · 17/08/2011 07:38

debka you are all invited Grin Well done Sabine, she has really got the hang of this sleep thing now! Oh and well done to you too! Grin

Im a bit bored waiting on the kids comming, been up since 5.45 i can't seem to sleep much these days, can you come and do some sleep training with me debka?

Grannyapple · 17/08/2011 08:03

Borg yeah we get that sometimes! But most people call him
Nate except granny who uses his full Nathaniel name...I don't mind as she only sees him every couple of months. But I intend on keeping his full Sunday name for when he's in trouble like my mum did with me Grin. But we've had a few ' oh what's that short for?' comments from people when they ask his name...but I think it's partly cos some people need a double take with me & my strong Glaswegian accent down here Smile.

Just thinking about Nate's lack of poo...has he been on medication since he was ill? Could that also be the cause?

Jane I find it slightly cool yet bizarre that BP is in Glasgow...a few of my family are in amateur dramatics & I think they're hoping to hang around to (a) get a glimpse & (b) hang around in the vain hope they might get called as extras...Hmm

Grannyapple · 17/08/2011 08:06

Ps Nate's still asleep...WTF? Canny seem to make up his mind about when he wants to get up! Just went in to check him & he's in a deep sleep happily snoring away...albeit lying diagonally in the cot!

ILovePonyo · 17/08/2011 08:18

Morning, dd slept til 7.30 Grin

jane I am loving the term 'boogie bus' - never heard that before! Hen night sounds fab, when are you having it? Good luck with the lovely Mr P, hope you spot him :) Boo to lack of sleep for you.

deb 12 hours Shock What a little star!

Borg 8 days?! That'll be a nice surprise for you when it finally happens then Hmm Grin Btw I really like Nate and Nathaniel, not as keen on Nathan. If you wanted him called Nathan thats what you'd name him isn't it?

MizK lovely pics, look at C - she's got loads more hair hasn't she?! You look v glam and tanned. I went to Barcalona when 14 wks pregnant, and felt tired/sick/too hot all the time so didn't enjoy it, would like to go back to try it again.

Well I have realised mil is annoying b'cos she basically cannot have a conversation, she talks and talks and talks about herself and if you say anything she ignores you and carries on. Plus she's always slagging off her other dil and sil, so i wonder what she says about me.
dd got passed around a lot and when I'd say to put her down they wouldn't, thinking she wants to be held b'cos she's squealing, so I'd have to take her off them and put her down (then she'd stop shouting and they'd say "oh she's very independant isn't she' Hmm).
Plus trying to make bottles and being made to feel like I'm overeacting about leaving the kettle to cool down etc, in the end I flounced and went to tesco for 15 cartons Grin

I know it all sounds very normal/like me moaning but a weekend of it wore me out! And listening to some of her theories on her own kids, and her constantly telling dp how "family is so important to your brother you know" like it isn't to him, and we only saw his brother once for about 10 mins.

Right thats enough Blush Hope everyone has a nice day!

reastie · 17/08/2011 09:01

ponyo totally understand the PIL Angry - it must be very wearing after a whole week end Hmm . Love the underhanded sarky comment on how family is important to your brother - was that an intentional dig?

jane was that brad pitt did you say? ohhh, if you see him give him a big kiss from me and lots of photos please Grin

borg re: lack of poo with Nate - I think Alice went over a week a couple of times - and the longer it went the stinkier the wind Shock - it did happen eventually

deb 12 hours? Envy

I bet mrwiggles puts them in date order in the drawer now too Grin

Don't know why I spend so much money on nice things for alice to play with - it seems give her a remote control and she's happy for hours Hmm

Where is ledkr I am awaiting a bag update

jane keeping fingers etc crossed - did df have to go away in the end this month during peak ovulation time?

mizk you look far too fab with those slim long legs on show Envy

big wave to knitta

oh yes, PIL update, friday evening seems to have been forgotten for some reason Hmm . So they are too busy this week end and if we try and organise something for the following week end they will try their best to be available at that time Hmm mental power games

ILovePonyo · 17/08/2011 09:55

reastie I think it is a dig yes, I asked dp and he was quite chilled out about the whole thing even though he knew she was having a sarky dig. When he was younger she was much worse, some of the stuff she did was completely bonkers, so I think he's happy she isn't as barking now as she was then. Your pil sound like they're being pretty odd too - is it power trips for them then do you think? God people are weird aren't they Grin

knitta I forgot to say - crawling!! Wow what an active little boy, is he keeping you on your toes then Grin dd keeps getting frustrated b'cos she wants to sit up and move around but can't yet, hehe.

Oh I did some of my wii zumba last night, its difficult! Shock Think i'll need to do more than 20mins at a time to make a difference though..
