Thread 3!!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsWajs · 16/08/2011 10:34

Oooops tell a lie my request has been sent now!! God knows what's wrong with this thing though, still can't see the page properly Confused

kittycatcat · 16/08/2011 10:56

mrsw I was worried about s waking from room to room as we don't have a nursery chair either but he was fine. tho I agree with you. You don't want to be all up at 4. Eugh. I would deffo wait longer. He was still in his Moses basket which was in his cot. Getting him used to new surroundings and not being next to me for now!

GlaikitFizzog · 16/08/2011 11:29

Ooh I couldn't wait to get B sleeping so I could check up on the FB group! [saddo]

Aussie I feel your pain too with expressing. Could you try dropping the afternoon sessions to give you freedom. Thats what I've done and it makes a huge difference. I'm now once in the morning and then before bed and I'm still getting 4 feeds for B, his middle feed of the day is now formula and he doens;t seem any the worse for it. It really is a fine balancing act between what best for you, best for baby and best for your sanity. If you can find that then you are laughing!

JoEW I was with you on the unoriginal NN

chillikat · 16/08/2011 11:40

I'm struggling editing the who's who doc - 2 attempts now and it's still not showing. Will try later when I'm on the PC rather than the netbook.

I'm having a much better day than yesterday :) and the last jab has been postponed again til next week as the nurse is ill.

BuckminsterFullerene · 16/08/2011 11:57

mooooorning!

All this talk of pumping, I'm trying to start a routine! I'm trying to get into the habit of pumping before I go to bed and then first thing in the morning. Just in case I don't get a chance to pump at school.

I've still got no idea how much F'll need for a day with CM. And I guess it'll vary with when the milk was expressed: older batches will be less fatty.

15 days till I go back to work Sad

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 16/08/2011 12:27

Now that we've got photos etc on the FB group page, can we make it secret?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 16/08/2011 12:28

Buck :(

chillikat · 16/08/2011 12:38

Hmm, still can't seem to edit the doc - can people see my posts or profile pic (I'm sat in a box!) on FB? I'm wondering whether my privacy is set too high? It's all 'friends only'. Will try again later, right now I'm going to try putting sleeping baby down and get some lunch.

Buck :( about going back to work. I seems too close to me as I'm already having to look at nursery places and I'm not back til Feb/March.

I'm thinking of making cake if M stays asleep for a while....

MumToTiny · 16/08/2011 13:03

Hello ladies, can I join you? I've been lurking and following everyone's stories since last August but have never got around to posting Blush

I think I've got one of the youngest babies of the lot - he was due on 28/4 but didn't arrive until 11/5 (on the day I was due to be induced - think my labour was encouraged by extreme panic!)

Tomos is generally very chilled (although he's a bit of a grump today!) and so far we've had a smooth ride - breastfeeding is going very well, weight gain pretty steady (although he dropped below the 25th centile last weigh-in - cue HV saying not to worry... Which I wasn't until she said not to - grrr!)

Major kudos to those of you who are expressing - I've done it a couple of times for nights out, and found it such a faff!

I've loved following everyone's ups and downs - it's so refreshing to get the warts and all version rather than the competitive mummy version (oh yes, mine's sleeping through the night, isn't yours? Etc etc) - could have slapped a friend the other day - so smug!

Sorry for the mammoth post, hope you don't mind me gatecrashing!

GsyGacheFiend · 16/08/2011 13:29

chilli we can see you on FB, You have the same settings as me, so we can see your profile pic but none of your personal info apart from what you post onto the group site.

GsyGacheFiend · 16/08/2011 13:42

Hello Tiny, don't worry your post isn't mammoth by our standards, we love to chat Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 16/08/2011 13:54

Hi Tiny!!
ROugh day again today here. He is happy, then suddenly screaming. I have just left him crying in his cot as nothing I did comforted him. I've only been away long enough to pee and make a cup of tea. I think he asleep now. Scared to go up incase I start him off again. Is that ok to do?

I should really go have a shower, I'm still in my PJs, but I can't sneak past his room without him hearing.

In better news though, he was in his jumperoo for half an hour this morning and loved it!

DairyBeetle · 16/08/2011 14:19

Right, I think that the majority of us are on the FB group now so I'll switch it to 'Secret' if anyone hasn't joined yet PM me and I can add you as a friend then to the group.

Waves hello to Tiny!

Buck I'm with you on Sad return to work blues, I have a meeting to find out if they have accepted my change of hours request tomorrow Sad

Fizz I once spent an afternoon figuring out which are the squeeky steps and floorboards so I can get past S's room without him waking...

I think S has just demonstrated that he's "showing an interest in food". I was feeding him while eating my lunch when suddenly my Marmite on toast wasn't on it's way to my mouth but being merrily shoved into his! I managed to get it off him before he could do more than give it a good suck, not that he was willing to let go!

chillikat · 16/08/2011 15:03

We have some jumperoo enjoyment here too - smiles when bouncing and the session didn't end in crying :)

I'm now on the PC so might try editing the who's who again, but only once M has finished feeding from the right and i can type with my right hand instead of 1 fingered with my left!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/08/2011 16:27

That sounds tough Buck. My friend (also a teacher) returns to work in a couple of weeks after a year and a half off and she is in a flap about it all, the logistics etc.

My iPad wasn't picking up certain boxes on FB either, so I'll add some details on there when I get on the PC.

Hi Tiny, welcome to the April thread Smile

Get me, I made bunting today. Yes. Bunting! Ds2 was with his granny and grandad this morning so I took the opportunity to finally finish it. It has taken me bloody ages as I can only do bits here and there

Cyclebump · 16/08/2011 16:41

Welcome Tiny, that was by no means a mammoth post, bring them on!

Sounds fine to me Fizz, when you have to pee you have to pee and if you go in and he's not sleeping an sees you it might set him off again, that's what H does.

I start back for half a day a week at music school on 10 September. DP will be taking H to work/babysitting then taking him to rugby where I'll meet them to take over. I think DP is quite looking forward to some regular boy time.

Eek! I hear the sounds of big pooage...

chillikat · 16/08/2011 17:30

Can anyone recommend a changing bag? The one we got with the Babystyle Oyster is ok, but doesn't have enough pockets for my liking - main pocket, one big zipped pocket and two smaller open pockets - and I'd really like to use the changing bag to store my keys, purse and phone without them disappearing in amongst spare baby clothes, toys, etc!
I've looked at this and this as I'm not sure whether to get something for me or for DH to use too....
I don't want to spend too much - up to about £40 ? or should I just get a bigger non-changing bag to put everything in?

kittycatcat · 16/08/2011 17:45

Welcome tiny. Ur Tomas shares a birthday with my Samuel. I was also due 28th and went into labour the day I was due to be induced - 10th may. Had ecs on 11th. Smile

Sad buck

Grin dairy at the marmots incident. Ur lo clearly is of the love it variety.

chilli I have a pacapod but they are about £90. Perhaps eBay. It has a big zip pocket which houses two separate 'pods'. One for nappies etc and one for food or milk. They detach from the bag. One big section for clothes. A front pocket I put my purse in, and a smaller zip pocket I put my keys and phone in. Your second one looks good.

kittycatcat · 16/08/2011 17:59

Oops apologies tiny - Tomos

fraktious · 16/08/2011 18:25

buck we'll commiserate together. I go back to teaching a week today:(

Welcome tiny

I love our FB group - well done for setting that up dairy

Impressed with the bunting ILTMI Grin

I have sooo much to tell you guys, mostly to do with poo (we have a scale, the top of which is a Mauritian, bearing my brother's Notre Dame), topless sunbathing/boob time - guess which one raised more eyebrows, a misunderstanding where DH thought I was giving M chlamydia and I still owe you stories of the dinner party circuit! Perhaps that's a job for the 1, 3, 5, 6, 7am feeds we've been having...

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 16/08/2011 20:04

Phew, B is finally asleep. I am half way through a box of Lindor truffles and have cracked open Wine. DH is footballering tonight so i'm praying he stays asleep!

JKSLtd · 16/08/2011 20:51

Not on top of things atm so haven't got round to sorting FB yet.

Chilli - i will link to the bag i bought recently, hang on.

JKSLtd · 16/08/2011 20:56

i bought this one as i don't like the style with flaps over the top as you always have to lift that & hold it out of the way to get to anything.

But, she doesn't seem to have any for sale right now - worth emailing to ask as she was very good sorting out exactly what I wanted :)

JKSLtd · 16/08/2011 21:09

Oh and I've name-changed too :)

Sassy20 · 17/08/2011 00:27

Chilli I got my changing bag from boots. It was £35 I think and looks just like a big handbag with lots of pockets etc. I think it's great. If you want me to post a pic on fb site let me know.
