Thats not fun saoirse86, I don't have any suggestions but how long do you leave her before you go to her? Is she still in your room? Could something be disturbing her? Cat, cars?

I know what you mean about still feeling younger newmum001 but I never did the going out, girly holidays etc so don't miss it at all. I moved in with my bf at 18 and bought my first house at 19 so had no spare money to travel or drink. Dh says I've been 45 all my life which is why we're perfect for each other. I really love my life now, I have a man I love, 2 perfect little boys and although I'd rather not work I enjoy what I do. The only thing that would make life better would be more money but most of it would be spent on the kids and doing things as a family, like treating them and me to Disney Grin

I hope you can make a decision your all happy with beaditAli about the helmet.

I'm having a bodyshop party on Friday and I'm getting people dropping out now :(. Why do people say they'll come if they're not going to? This happened last time I had one about 2 years ago. If any of you fancy it you're more than welcome Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 28/09/2011 20:10

Didnt mean that to sound like you were ungrateful or anything newmum001, just that although I'd be happier to be younger I don't feel I'm missing anything so can't relate in that way. Plus I don't have anything to miss/reminisce over!

newmum001 · 28/09/2011 20:11

Never done a link before so lets see if this works. Also don't know if he looks like him on this picture (or at all) but it was the best one i could find.

Happy belated birthday newmum and have a great weekend. I do sometimes wish I could go out more and do certain things that just don't work out with a far too mobile and tantrumy baby! But I'm generally happy as I am. Maybe when I don't feel so tired any more I'll start doing more.
I hadn't even thought about some kind of separation anxiety. It might make sense as I had to leave her with my mum last weds, dp's mum on Friday, both were long days when i went to liverpool. Then she was ill but I sent her with dp to his parents on Sunday for a few hours while I did some work. Maybe she felt a bit abandoned by me.

mapletrees · 28/09/2011 21:57

Happy Birthday Mary :o (Just in case you're lurking Jess)

Only our two little October babies to go...

MammyG · 28/09/2011 22:07

Hi all ....am lurking just up the walls with work and stuff. Got voted in as vice chair for our school parents association - cause I dont have anything else to do!! Phoebe has been sick for days - rotten cold but still smiling thru all the green bless her! Im now starting so heading straight up to bed!
Anyone have a child who is dyspraxic? If so when did you first start to notice? Am a little concerned about DS2.
Will post more when feeling better - hope you are all well x

saoirse86 · 28/09/2011 22:42

Maple how do you remember all the birthdays?! Very impressive!

MammyG I hope you all feel better soon. My mum's friend's son had dyspraxia but he wasn't diagnosed until he was 11. I started a thread aaaaaages ago about it after mil and SIL kept going on about how walking before crawling causes dyspraxia. Total rubbish of course, but there were a lot of parents of dyspraxic children who replied. Many said their children had walked before crawling. Did your ds do that? Anyway, maybe start a thread in chat or Behaviour and development here and see what advice anyone could offer.

beaditAli · 29/09/2011 08:37

Happy belated birthday Mary! x

newmum He's ok and quite similar but DH wins on handsome points! Grin
saoirse my mum has theories about walking before crawling too! I think there's been a fair bit published on it recently though don't know any details. Mammy i would have thought a thread in chat would be a great place to get advice. Hope the green disappears soon!
Gorgeous again this morning...... hope everyone enjoys a bit of sun Smile

I have no idea about dyspraxia MammyG, they are keeping a close eye on ds1 for dyslexia because of his speech problems as dh has it too.

Off to get Luke's jabs in 5 mins, I have 2 friends whos children have been ill with them so I'm a bit worried :(, ds1 was fine though so fingers crossed!

lumpylumps · 29/09/2011 19:16

Cinnamon Olly was fine after his jabs although I do now know why he was poorly at the beginning of the week. He's a poor little spotty boy. Mostly down his right side at the minute. I'm hoping they don't bother him too much but ds1 was worst on days 3+4 of the spots so that'll be sat+sun. just in time for sil, bil & 2 dns coming to stay!

Happy birthday Mary and belated happy birthday newmum!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/09/2011 20:05

Highly recommend poxclin lumpylumps, worked wonders with Luke who was pretty itchy and they healed quicker than ds1's, don't know if that's because of something else but ds1 wasn't itchy so I hardly used it on him. Hope it doesn't affect your visit too much. How's work going? Is your ds1 happier at nursery now?

Luke cried so much :(. With the first one he looked confused, second one annoyed and third really cried and didn't stop until I gave him some raisins, even cuddles and muslin didn't help! He said the only lie part is rubella and he may get a rash in 10-14 days time.

sassy34264 · 29/09/2011 20:55

comix so sorry to hear about your mum. wishing you all the best for the treatment. sil started hers this week. she has to go every day- mon to fri for 6 weeks. its going to be gruelling i think.

happy belated birthday newmum im 10 years older than you, as i will be 37 on mon. eek. but i dont feel it. i didnt do the partying until 27, but you do get to the point where its not as important to you. or more truthfully, you just cant face the 3 day tiredness/hangovers! (grin)

beaditali i agree that you should maybe keep going with the helmet until it no longer fits and then re-assess. i can see why you want a helmet free boy, but im just thinking that you may feel incredibly guilty later on if he doesnt improve much more/completely.

i think i mentioned that jacob had croup. well, had to take him back to docs on fri as it had regressed back to how bad it was originally. they gave him 3 doses of steroids which seem to have done the trick- fingers crossed. it also cleared up his eczema for a while but its back again now. it was a bit scary though as the side effect list on the leaflet was the longest i have ever seen!

i had a scan and a consultant appointment yesterday as i am 36 weeks!!! the consultant is happy to let me try for a vbac. the baby is estimated at 7lbs 6oz at the moment- which was jacobs birth weight and i had had them both at this point, so i have 6lbs 10oz less weight now than i did last time! i have no swelling at all and no carpal tunnel either.....hooray.
anyway the doctor has said that im showing no signs of having a diabetic baby, which is good, but cos of this, they are happy to let me go to 40 weeks......nooooooo.
she has said she will do me a sweep in 2 weeks time at my 38 week appointment. was hoping you could answer a few questions for me. who had a sweep on this thread? cant remember. how quick before you went into labour? did anyone need inducing as well? and who ended up with a c sec in the end? thanks.x

cinnamongreyhound · 29/09/2011 21:28

I had 3 sweeps at 40+6, 40+8 and +10 I was induced at 40+13 but I only needed one gel and had a natural delivery sassy34264. I had one sweep with ds1 at 40+12 and was induced at 40+13, had one gel again but due to midwife cock up had drip eventually but did manage unassisted natural delivery then too, after 33hrs! With Luke I was induced at 9am, proper labour started at 1.30 and he was born at 5.30pm. I think the sweeps helps as my cervix was thinner and softer with each one, I had already had a vaginal delivery but I think the sweeps helped and they really aren't that bad.

newmum001 · 29/09/2011 22:09

I can't remember when I had my sweep sassy but it was a good few days before I went into labour so it didn't really do anything for me. It wasn't painful just a little bit uncomfortable as you can imagine! Had a natural delivery (with gas and air and pethadine) and was in labour for 11 hours! She was out in 3 pushes and I don't remember feeling any pain when pushing (probably just glad it was coming to an end) but the stitches hurt so bad! I'm soo happy for you that you can try for the birth you want! Considering how much I hated being pregnant I really quite enjoyed the labour, it was very exciting and the gas and air made me feel pissed which was so nice after a sober 9 months Grin

Just had to come home from my sisters (was dying my hair in preperation for saturday night) cause grace woke up screaming and dp was worried and wouldn't u know it she was asleep again when I got home!

saoirse86 · 29/09/2011 22:15

I had a sweep at 39+5 as I was having contractions and my hind waters had gone. That was at about 11am, I had her at 6.42pm on the due date, so about 55 hours later. I had a natural unassisted delivery.
My sister had a sweep at 39+4 after her waters had gone, then two more sweeps the following day and her contractions started 2am the following morning. They were going to induce but she ended up having an emcs about 50 hours after the first sweep. She'd failed to progress (got to 2cm) and imara's heart rate was dipping to 70bpm during contractions.

saoirse86 · 29/09/2011 22:21

Newmum she was out in 3 pushes?! Shock Envy my sister told me the day after orlaith was born that my mum had texted her at 2pm to say I was pushing and to wait for a call to come and visit the baby, and I got her out at 6.42pm! But I agree the pushing wasn't that bad. It actually felt better because it felt like I was working with my contractions rather than just wishing them to be over iyswim. It seemed less painful and I didn't need gas and air for that part, just for a couple of hours before I started pushing, and for the stitches. Ouch!

Debs75 · 30/09/2011 07:05

With Lucy I had a sweep on the tuesday then on friday was induced. Ending up with the drip as she was far too comfortable to move. I don't think the sweep did any good at all. she was another one born with just 3 pushes. I think in all honesty she could of been born with no pushes .
With dd1 I had a sweep and she was born the next day, I was over by 3 days and all it took to get me started was popping the waters.
With DS I had a sweep as a contraction was coming, hurts like hell and makes you hit the ceiling but moves the labour along. He was my only one with no epi as well, it was a very natural mother earth type of delivery

lumpylumps · 30/09/2011 08:29

Sassy from what I've read on here (this thread and others) sweeps are pointless unless you are in labour! I had one at about 11am with Olly but was already in labour. had him at 0030. 2 weeks early seems a bit excessive. whats her reasoning for it??

sassy34264 · 30/09/2011 09:56

i dont know lumpy and im not asking! ive been pregnant for 1 and a 1/2 years out of the last 2, so any time from now is fine by me! Grin

in such a happy state! dp just rang and he got his redundancy! yippee! with any luck he will be home full time by february. the relief is enormous, cried my eyes out. sat here now with big puffy eyes and a red bulbious nose but i dont care. Grin

newmum001 · 30/09/2011 10:35

Sassy it's been on the news all morning and I was thinking about you and your dp! So happy for you!

newmum001 · 30/09/2011 10:35

Sassy it's been on the news all morning and I was thinking about you and your dp! So happy for you!

newmum001 · 30/09/2011 11:04

Saoirse regarding the 3 pushes, I progressed quite slowly even though I was only in labour for 11 hours, I was 4 centimetres dilated when I got to hospital at 11am and that didn't change for hours so they gave me something to make my contractions stronger and I spent about 5 hours on all fours cause I couldn't bear to lie down and standing up hurt so bad. They broke my waters at about 4pm and one midwife finished her shift at 21.30pm and warned dp I'd be in labour till the early hours at least and then all of a sudden I needed to push and grace was born at 21.44. So all happened very quickly in the end but I think gravity had a lot to do with it cause of the position I was in.

saoirse86 · 30/09/2011 11:07

I think my problem was that I still had my waters and actually pushed them out in the sack eventually, and I hadn't had a wee for at least 24 hours. I'd just lost the ability to wee. In the end the mw put a cathata in and out gushed a litre of wee! Things got a bit faster after that!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/09/2011 13:51

What a beautiful thing child birth is Wink

That's lovely news sassy34264!

I fell over taking my childminded little boy to school :(. I was holding luke and lost my balance as we went through a little walk way and I was trying so hard not to hit Luke on the wall that I think I fell much worse than I would have. I have a big graze on left arm and right elbow. I did fall on his legs in the end and he cried but not for long and he was walking fine straight after so I think he's fine and at least I didn't hit him on the wall. I have really hurt my ribs though, supposed to be ironing while kids asleep but I'm quite shaky when I stand :(

newmum001 · 30/09/2011 15:16

Aww that's awful cinnamon! Don't bother with the ironing sit down with a brew and rest your ribs! Sounds like it was a nasty fall! Glad you and luke are ok tho!
