Happy Birthday Phoebe and Flynn Smile Hope you both had lots of fun...

sassy I think you're safe on the induction front sassy - I was told they don't do them if you've had a previous CS Smile

More happy birthdays to Flynn and Phoebe

I would avoid inductions if I was pregnant again. I don't mind the gel and breaking of waters but I didn't like the being made to lie down whilst they pumped me full of drugs. I much preferred moving around to help labour progress. Really hope you get what you want Sassy

cinnamongreyhound · 23/09/2011 16:08

I had a horrible experience of being induced with ds1 but much better with Luke but still had to be monitored continuously which meant not being mobile which I hated too Debs75, although I only had I lot of gel they still insisted.

One of my mums had a cs first due to breech and was induced with second mapletrees, was just told they don't turn the syntocinon up as high with previous cs.

Went to give blood today and they were so rude about me bringing Luke and one minded little girl, both sleeping but she was worried theyd wake up and 'scream the place down' while I was donating. I was then told if I got a bruise it would be my own fault for lifting children!! Grrrr.. who would have thought they're desperate for blood!!

lumpylumps · 23/09/2011 19:28

Hey ladies! I've missed birthdays!!!!!!! Belated happy birthday Maria-Ann, Phoebe and Flynn. Hope you all had brilliant birthdays!

Beady, Both mine have had the triple vac. I'd like to think that if there was anything really to worry about there would be more studies. I avoid looking too much into things because they just frighten me & make me question everything. I can understand people avoiding it, especially if they have experience of autism but I also believe in trying to keep the herd immunity!

Sassy please send me your address, I have a little something for the baby. I promise I'm not a crazy psycho stalker!

I'll admit I haven't read the discussion about immunisations as I've decided that grace will have it and don't want to end up worrying about it but I think all you can do is get all the info available and make your decision based on that.

Grace is staying at dp's mums tomorrow night. It's basically to see how it goes as we're going out for my birthday next weekend and she will be staying overnight then but I wanted her to have a chance to get used to it first as she's only done it once before and she was only 3 months old then! I am dreading it, really really dreading it. I'm going to miss her so much and I'm worried that she'll think we've abandoned her. She's a mummy's girl and I don't want her to get upset without me! As much as I'm looking forward to having a night on our own I really feel like I could cry!

She's walking so much now and is choosing to walk rather than crawl and just today she's learnt how to stand up without holding on, bend and pick things up and she's figured out how to climb off the furniture (which she figured out how to climb on weeks ago) she's such a clever girl!

I've missed birthdays too so happy birthday to all those I've missed. Hope they've all had a lovely time

Happy Birthday Orlaith! Grin Hope mummy and daddy have something fun planned for today...

cinnamongreyhound · 24/09/2011 15:44

Happy birthday orlaith, hope you have a fab day!

Debs75 · 24/09/2011 18:51

Happy birthday Orlaith

Had a good day today, sold Lucy's cot on Gumtree for £55. Pretty good as it only cost me about £90 and she has hardly used it so we now have some room in our room. Just got the double pram, the bath, the pram stand, the carry cots, the nappies and a tonne of clothes to sell now. Better get on it, I might make some money for christmas.

comixminx · 24/09/2011 21:59

Happy birthdays to the babies I've missed - belated happy birthday Maria-Ann, Phoebe and Flynn and also Orlaith! Fantastic stuff all round.

Ups and downs at this end of things - busy at work and pretty achievement-y which is good, but at the end of the day I do seem to be feeling rather like the Red Queen in Alice - running as fast as I can to stay in the same place! Oh well, it's still lovely to see how Aphra changes all the time and does new stuff. She is walking really well now - holds her hands up so that we walk with her, and then she is clearly using it as an actual method of movement which she enjoys experimenting with.

On the down side, a small negative is finding out that the Ergo sling we've been using since the beginning of the year is a fake! It was a bit cheaper than the full price ones and is less good quality, and on the local slingmeet email list it was said that they are less reliable because they don't have all the safety checks. I feel quite cross; it was certainly advertised as an 'original'. This is the one I showed at the meet in Birmingham so I hope no-one else got caught out following that - I know that a few people were interested in buying one after that.

On the rather more down side, my mum has just had bad news from a breast scan - she has a small tumour. It all sounds like they've caught it very early - you can't feel it and it is very small - but apparently they are recommending radiotherapy and chemotherapy as well as a lumpectomy so it all is making my mum pretty uneasy. She got the news yesterday so we went over today and saw them - we were able to take her mind off things by having fun with little A, at least.

MammyG · 24/09/2011 23:34

Happy Birthday Orlaith!!!
All well here. Lovely evening with the family today - cake and dinner. Family day trip tomorrow just to hang out and play really. Am so looking forward to it feel like its just been all time pressure and to do lists since I went back to school. will be nice to chill and enjoy the kids. Phoebe full of the joys but thinks we are all daft - bursting into song spontaneaously!!
comix sorry bout your mum - hope it all sorts itself out!
must dash - crying little boy!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/09/2011 07:05

So sorry to hear your news comixminx, it's good that they've caught it so early and that they already have a treatment plan in place.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2011 10:59

Happy Birthday Oliver, hope you have a wonderful day! Wasn't sure when you said you were away SeaChelles but hope you have a fab time.

Have had a bit of bad news today, my newest mindee had just given me notice :(. I am upset because of the work I have to put into new children and now to lose her after what will be just under 2 months after notice period. Plus I turned down someone else to take her as I know her mum (not really well but well enough) and I can't afford to have this space empty! It's rubbish as I'm not working any less hours so can't say I can rest in the day and make up the money in an evening job, just got less kids. I am so sick of struggling every day and stressing about money, just trying to work out how we are going to pay for everything this month after I had 2 weeks off in August. DH and I both work 45+ hrs a week and we still can't afford to go out for a meal or on a nice holiday, at the risk of sounding like a spoilt brat, it's not fair :(

Debs75 · 26/09/2011 11:34

Happy birthday oliver

Sorry about your mumComix hope she is feeling well soon.

Cinnamon that's bad, can you get the mum who you turned down to take the place? It must be bad that you will still work as hard but for less money.

Lucy took her first proper steps yesterday. 5 steps to dp and then 4 steps to DD1. None to me, she just flops on me. For me she saves all her pooey bums, 3rd one this morning so better go

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2011 12:31

I gave her the details of another cm and she has taken her on, started beginning September I'm afraid. I do get phone calls reasonably regularly so just keeping fingers crossed that I get one soon at they fit around my current customers. You wouldn't believe the trouble I had with a 30min overlap one day a week during school hols with the one I'm about to lose :(

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2011 12:32

Oh and yay for Lucy! I'm sure she will come running to mummy soon enough!

mapletrees · 26/09/2011 12:47

Happy Birthday Olly :o Hope you're having a fun day...

That must be really annoying for you cinnamon. I hope you find a replacement soon. Shame you're not a bit nearer to me....

Sorry to hear about your mum comix. I hope the treatment is sucessful and not too unpleasant.

saoirse86 · 26/09/2011 13:27

Hi everyone! I know I've been away for ages so probably missed loads.

It's been a hectic few weeks. My sister's gone back to uni in Liverpool so we've been going up and down looking at nurseries and flats, and trying to sort out her modules, loan, funding etc. All the flats kept being taken really quickly, sometimes before people had even viewed them! Confused I think my car could do the drive to Liverpool on its own now. She finally found a flat but won't get the keys till later this week. And it's unfurnished so we need to sort out buying furniture and taking it up. She started today and is having to commute from Birmingham. She got up at 5.30 this morning and will get back at 8.30 tonight, just to do it all again tomorrow. Imara had seemed to be settled ok in nursery until this afternoon when she went in to feed her. I'm sure she'll be fine soon though.

It was orlaith's birthday on Saturday (thanks for the birthday wishes) but she was a bit under the weather all weekend. She was sleeping loads and really hot yesterday. We went to a style thing in town in Saturday and she slept for most of it but did get a birthday kiss from George lamb! My SIL was very envious! Grin

I hope everyone's well and I'll try to be on here more from now on. I can't miss baby sassy's birth!

comixminx · 26/09/2011 14:20

Thanks for people's good wishes - I am trying not to be blase about it because of course for Mum it's a big deal and it is likely to make her feel unwell and suchlike, but at the same time as you say they've caught it early, have a treatment plan and all that, so it must be about as straightforward as these things get. I really hope so anyway.

How annoying for you, cinnamon! Has she said why? Hopefully it's just an unavoidable change of circumstances, still annoying of course but not something that can be helped? Hopefully someone else will come along soon. I know when I was looking at CMs here in Oxford it was really hard to find someone nearby who had spaces.

Saoirse, good luck for your sister in Liverpool! A very long day for her at the moment, hope the flat is sorted out quickly. Where in L'pool is she going to be based? that's where mum and dad live.

saoirse86 · 26/09/2011 15:23

Comix, she'll be living right near the university, about a 7 minute walk to the maths building, and it's literally across the road from the nursery. It'll be great for her, when she gets in that is!

Right, orlaith's been asleep for 3 hours and 40 minutes so far. She's slept through lunch and if she doesn't wake up soon I'll have to go to the post office that's further away. It's so weird her being sleepy the last few days, I've got so much done, I even got an assignment done a day early, that's not like me at all. I wish she'd sleep for this long at night! Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2011 17:24

Thanks all of you for sharing my stress! She said her boss didn't want her to go back part time and she is making her life very difficult and she can't cope with it anymore. Her partner said he will have to take a second job so she can stay at home so I guess he can see she has been unhappy, just wish she'd decided this a while ago. Have had another enquiry for before and after school in a months time so I may have the same amount of money and have a quieter time in the day, although I don't count on anything until it's signed on the dotted line!

Hope the flat is sorted quickly for your sister saoirse86, does she have a partner to help her with all the moving, studying and childcare? Hope Orlaith's sleeping habits continue to be better and carry over into the night!

newmum001 · 26/09/2011 17:41

I am sooooo jealous of orlaiths birthday kiss from george lamb! He is beautiful!

saoirse86 · 26/09/2011 18:24

Hehe newmum, he's really tall too. It seemed like he was standing on a step when he was next to us!

Cinnamon, I hope that minded works out for you, there's nothing like money worries to make you feel stressed out!
My sister's a single mum and is moving up there on her own. She hasn't kept in touch with her old friends so she doesn't know anyone there really. She had to go back or she would've had to repeat the second year if she'd gone elsewhere. It's only 8 months with a month long break at Christmas and Easter so hopefully it won't seem too awful.
