newmum I know many women feel like that, a lot of my friends do. Unfortunately for me it's the complete opposite way round for us. I'd prefer it to be maybe every other night, he'd probably settle with once every 6 months! It tends to be once a month for us now but I think part of it is because I've been bleeding for 2 weeks a month at least and DP heaves when he thinks about blood! Hmm

Well it seems to have quietened down a bit riot-wise so hopefully all will go well. I'm dreading the drive with 2 girls in the back though. Confused

beaditAli · 11/08/2011 11:49

Just done a monster catch up but nanalumps still haven't found your post re Toby's head. I'll go back even further after this post....... must have not caught up properly for longet than i thought.
Loving reading all the updates and can't really belive we're so close to birthdays already!
Here goes with Jack's update tho I always babble on so just stop reading if you get bored!!!
11 months on the 20th! Crawls so fast he often goes ass over head. Plays hide and seek and loves to stop-turn-cheeky look-........ egging you on to chase him. Not walking or standing unaided yet but when he's upright I swear he could reach the ceiling Shock size 2 shoes are too small for him Shock Sleeps 7pm ish to 6.30am every night then naps for 1-1.5 hrs around 8-9.30am. Afternoon nap usually around 3pm but only does about 20mins even if we're in the car.
3 meals a day and eats what we do and also has some pots of 7+ foods if it's easier. 3 bottles a day..... 6oz ish before morning nap, 6oz ish around 3pm then 7oz ish at bedtime. Favourite things are his 'rag' which is my old scarf cut into snuggleable sized bits...... won't sleep without one! Books...... actually sits and talks to himself/reads them which makes him look about 5! Grin Long streams of parcel paper will occupy him for ages Love having his teeth brushed and is way more ticklish on his right side than his left Confused Giggles and smiles a lot and we can still have days when he doesn't shed tears for about 3 days.... unless I forget to catch him or he crash lands without his helmet on Blush
Helmet update: At the start of treatment he was missing 20mm growth and he's now only missing 6mm so massive improvement but still a way to go yet so hopefully before Christmas it'll be on his teddy instead! [hopeful emoticon]

Still no immunology appointment for his egg allergy!! Shock Shock we definitely don't exist to our local hospitals! No wonder really since they registered the wrong DOB when he arrived!

Looking forward to reading more updates!

newmum snap with the fun times here but doesn't bother me one bit either! Blush

Sending hugs to everyone affected by the riots..... chelle glad DP got home safe xxxx

Luke is in 3 1/2 shoes beaditAli! Ds1 has massive feet too not sure where it comes from as I'm a 7 and dh is an 8.

I'm with saoirse86 newmum001, I've always had a higher sex drive than dh and when pregnant was even worse but he wasn't as keen as normal. We usually manage 2-3 times a week but he's more of a morning person and I'm an evening one. I think the more you have the more you want so if you can get in the mood once it might kick start things. Dh is 15 years older than me so it can only get worse! Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and I was invited out so he insisted I went and we willgo out next weekend. When I got home he was asleep so I woke him up and we danced to our first dance song but there was no chance I was getting anything else!!!

I have had a really hard time with working and not having as much time for Luke as I felt I should bananacurry and looking back have perhaps been a bit depressed. Not sure how but I have pulled myself together and looking at the positives (like all the other people who play with him) and alternatives (me working away for 10hrs a day) and MADE SURE I spent proper one to one time with him whenever possible. It is really sad how fast is whizzes by and how little we really remember. Have a good cry and then look at all the positives to you returning to work and all the lovely things you can do as they get older that you can't do with a baby in tow. Big hugs to you and enjoy your last few weeks xxx

beaditAli · 11/08/2011 15:19

cinnamon he's never really worn shoes so I don't know what size he is but all the shoes we were bought that are either size 2 or 6-12 pram shoes are tiny on him. Maybe I should go and have him measured?? DH is 11 and I'm a 8.5.... poor lil man might have flippers Wink

Anyone want to help me sort my study out today?? Pleeeeeeeeeeease?? Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2011 19:16

I'm not a big fan of shoes on babies but Luke wants to walk when we're out and apart from him getting filth socks or feet I was worried about him standing on something. He walks better without them but they are cute and I got them in the sale!

bananacurry · 11/08/2011 19:24

Poor Olly just has ds1s hand me down shoes at the minute cos he's not walking properly!

Cinnamon Your ds1 has SALT doesn't he? What was/is he struggling with? I know ds1 is only 3 (almost) so still time but he's really struggling with ls (which I know is very common) but also anything followed by r like brush, crush, trap etc!

newmum001 · 11/08/2011 19:25

Grace won't keep shoes on, I swear she'll be staring school with bare feet! She thinks they're fascinating and takes them off to get a closer look. But she has got massive feet too, I'm a 7 and dp's a 10 so we're not exactly a family of small feet!

ha ha! I'm a 3!!!!!!!! Dh is an 8!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2011 19:52

Get him referred now if you have concerns bananacurry, I questioned it several times and nothin was done. Now he's 4 he has got bad habits as well as problems so better sooner. He didnt speak at all until almost 2 and everything was d d d d and he called me duddy until he was 3 1/2. He substitutes letters at the start when he can't make them and was missing consonants off the end of words. He can't make c/k, g, j, v, sh, th, he's working on f and s with the speech therapist and it's coming along really well, and p and t came a month or so before he started therapy. Getting an assessment doesn't cost you anything and will put your mind at rest. IMO the children in the nhs group sessions were not as bad as ds1 but still having therapy.

bananacurry · 11/08/2011 20:04

Thanks Cinnamon I've started a thread in behaviour and development too. How did you get him referred? GP or HV?

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2011 20:10

GP's here won't refer under 5's so HV and they were really helpful with the whole thing! Just went to the clinic and she did the referral for initial assessment there and then. That was end December and he had initial assessment in February, hospital assessment in may and therapy started in June so not massively quick!

bananacurry · 11/08/2011 20:14

I'll give the hv a go then! unfortunately ours are crap so I'll not hold my breath!!

cinnamongreyhound · 11/08/2011 20:29

Ours are rubbish for advice etc but with this they were the most efficient part!

Debs75 · 11/08/2011 20:48

Newmum that was me after I had ds 12 years ago. I was exhausted and had no desire whatsoever.
It does not last long and dp has a ridiculously high sex drive and he is still here. Things got better but dropped off again after dd2 and are even worse after Lucy. We have sex about once a week but I know I could go a month or two without missing it. The big thing with us is the other kids so dp knew that for 7 weeks there would be no sex as they are off school. He moans about it but he knows things will get better as they did after ds and dd2, obviously or Lucy wouldn't be here

MammyG · 11/08/2011 21:24

Sorry to all those suffering as a result of the rioting! It sounds so needless and awful. I lived in New York for a few years after the police were given more powers and zero tolerance promoted. It was amazing the difference. Felt safe everywhere.

Bananacurry Im back in 3 weeks too. I know how you feel and it sucks but I just keep reminding myself that I am doing what is best for my family in the long run. An older mum actually told me that when they are small they simply adore you anyway and dont feel too bothered once they have a routine. She went to working part time when her children were going thru their early teens and said that it was far more valuable. Its at a point where they stop talking to you and not telling you what they are up to so she felt it was so important to be there to bring them places etc and when they got home. In hindsight she thought it was the best. I console myself that I may be able to do that.

newmum it gets better. I am definately affected by body issues. once I feel better about myself it improves and def the more you do the more you want - so here is a fun thing to try....do not tell DH that you are doing this but for 3-4 weeks everytime he suggests it just go with it. after about 2 weeks he will click what is going on and trust me you will feel good by the end of it. when he clicks some naughty about the house lark will even start and you will just love feeling wanted too!!

sassy34264 · 12/08/2011 10:06

newmum i dont have a lot of desire. never really have. but i have noticed that it increases when i lose weight, so its definately a body image thing for me too. i still like to do it though for the closeness (bit soppy i know) i suppose its cos i miss him when hes not here. dp has been back 2 weeks now though and we have only had sex once. but i would say that was his choice more than mine. i dont tend to ever say no- no need, i can make it be very quick!!!! Wink hehehehe

i had both babies measured for shoes at clarks when they started walking,. jacob was a 3 and a half but isobel was only a 2 and a half and the proper shoes only start at 3. she would have had to get crusing shoes. decided to wait till she gets to a 3 and then i'll get them some. the woman in clarks told me to keep them out of shoes as long as possible- didnt ask why.
babies are 1 tomorrow- eek. tooooooooooo fast!

beaditAli · 12/08/2011 11:19

Wow sassy the first first birthdays! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOU JACOB AND ISOBEL xxxxxxx
Hope you have a gorgeous day!
Have made a decision to get things moving tonight since you all seem to have more duvet fun than me! Jack had better be as quiet as usual tonight and not give me any grief to change my mind! Wink

Happy Birthday Jacob and Isobel xxxxxxxx Have a fab day all of you!

I'm home alone! my babies are in nursery! MammyG thanks. I know its all for the best for the family & I know they won't forget me as Dh pointed out last night he's away sometimes 12hrs a day & they still love him!!! Its very quiet tho! I guess when I'm actually going to work it will be better. Just seems a bit pointless when I'm at home!

I have managed to do a rough trial of ds1s Mikey mouse birthday cake & Its pretty good, even if i do say so myself! Got all the ironing done so am just sat sitting now! I'm waiting for my new phone to be delivered. Any time from 8am-6pm so I can't go anywhere!

Debs75 · 12/08/2011 13:50

Have bought all the ingredients and tins for Lucy's birthday cake so just have to have a quiet hourHmm half hour to actually bake one. Am deciding wheter to do a plain vanilla or chocloate cake. It will have pale pink icing so would look good chocolate.

mellymooks · 12/08/2011 18:18

Happy Birthday Jacob and Isobel!! Crikey seems only 5 mins ago I remember Sassy posting to say they had arrived!

DD cracks me up she told me today "when Daddy does a wee he has a special hole in his pants and he squeezes his willy and the wee come out" Grin

Also she told me she wants to buy a globe of the world, I said where was she going to get the money from? She said 'from the cash point' ahh I wish it was that simple Smile

Flynn has started saying 'row row row' and rocking forward and back for the song ahhhhhh.

SeaChelles · 12/08/2011 20:40

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow Jacob and Isobel. Make sure Mummy and Daddy spoil you!

Olly has been nightmare this week, waking up in the night for no reason and I have been having to feed him sometimes to get him back to sleep. Just lays there staring at you, then screams as soon as you leave the room!! Really unlike him. Plus this comes in the week where I have had no help.

We have barely seen DP. He has worked:
Mon 2pm - 10pm
Tues 8am - 8pm
Weds 8am - 3am
Thurs 11am - 11pm

and will work:
Today, Sat, Sun and Mon 11am - 1am.

I am so lonely. Don't get me wrong, the overtime money will come very much in handy. But I really miss him.... Sad, we aren't used to him not being here.

Best go to bed now! Will no doubt be up in an hour! Hmm
