EffiePerine · 15/07/2011 07:54

Sorry JJ not Jam - getting my Js confused (too early for my pore old head)

And Jump my fingers are tightly crossed for your friends little girl

JamInMyWellies · 15/07/2011 08:22

JJ Sending lots of love and thoughts to your friend and her baby x

Beans36 · 15/07/2011 12:42

PD - hope today is ok.

JJ - good luck to your friend. I'm sure all will be well - thinking of her.

Having a lovely day here. Making most of last bit of nice weather for a while, I think. DD2 snoozing and DD1 goggling happily. Off for a spot of sunbathing shortly. Tomorrow got friends coming to stay, which will be ace. Then other friends joining us for dinner in the evening. In fact, those ones are the ones where he cooked us the stonking meal the other night with halibut. I think he may be a bit disappointed with our BBQed roast lamb. Oh dear! And my Tesco finest wine, which is on a 2 for a tenner offer at the moment!!! Got prosecco for starters. Yay! And my friends are bringing their little girls too. Will be so nice and DD1 will be in seventh heaven!

DD2 has been sleeping like a dream, but sadly was up 4 times in the night. Grrrr. Never mind. DH was pissed and didn't hear a thing! Lucky boy. Ooh, I love having dinner parties. Am planning table laying already. And I always do the same thing, so god knows why!!! V plain!

LadyThompson · 15/07/2011 13:50

Oh, for cock's sake...just spent an hour in dark house typing long post, only to lose it! It is just too annoying for words. Will hopefully come back later.

DeidreBarlow · 15/07/2011 14:07

Oh lady i tis so annoying when that happens!

beans i love a good dinner party, and as for table dressing I love it...do you not remember the Xmas table runner talkGrin

DS has had a really sore bum, so I have taken his nappy off this aft, with potty casually at his side - he has been 5 times and no accidents Hmm. Maybe this casual approach is the way forward.

I am off out for drinks tonight with my friends. I'm so looking forward toit as it has been absolutely ages since we got together.

DeidreBarlow · 15/07/2011 14:12

Ohkayz forgot to add that everything sounds like it is so good for you right now. Good luck with the house move and the TTC

DeidreBarlow · 15/07/2011 14:27

Gah! Spoke to soon, just walked into the conservatory to discover DS has curled one off in the middle of the floor! Nice.

Rubena · 15/07/2011 14:56

Hi SL glad you had a nice trip. Well on the advice of the HV I put dd on stuffing her face full of smoothies and whatever she will eat then cold turkey cry it out at night (as long as she's fine) 3 miserable nights, then last (4th) night miraculously, she had her milk at 11pm then not a peep until 9AM!! Hoping the method works and not a fluke.
Hope you are OK PD. Spot that's crap - so sorry.

LadyThompson · 15/07/2011 15:50

is a much truncated version of what I posted earlier - harumph.

Spot, I am so sorry about the house. Is there any reasoning with them? If you really want the house, can you give them more time? It sounds so irritating, though. How are you feeling now? I mean, apart from furious about feet of clay sellers, I mean.

JJ - thinking of your pal and her little one.

Sybs - yes, you would be v welcome, of course! There's a king size bed in one spare room (plus a single mattress underneath it which can be pulled out), a double bed in the other spare room, plus the bunk above DD1! So we have the capacity. Village is on the A44 about 6 miles past Blenheim/Woodstock. Any other visitors also welcomed!

Aspa, you once evinced a desire to visit me How is DD2's pox? And how is your house going?

SL - that sounds like a fabbo hol and worth the jetlagged nippers. As to diets, don't mention 'em. The scales haven't made it over from DP's flat yet, which is just as well. Need.to.get.more.exercise.

Jam - how was YOUR hol?

Saucy dreams - managed a double bill about Shane Warne and the least good looking Kemp brother (Spandau Ballet ones, NOT Ross) - neither of whom I fancy in real life. S. Warne in particular looks risible since he's been Hurleyed. His botoxed face looks all rubbery. And those arched eyebrows are like Spock's.

Kayz - what exciting plans! When's the wedding?

Pingu, when is your babe due - was it Sept?

Beans, I like dinner parties as well. It is exciting to be able to contemplate them again. But I had forgotten what hard work it is too! We had some friends of DP's over last weekend.

I am gadding off to London next week. I shouldn't really as there is tons to do here, and I already had a chunk of time at Mum's last week, but I haven't been in my flat for more than the odd night for months and there are loads of people I need to catch up with. Also...MIL has been here such a lot. Monday-Wd this week, then she is back tomorrow for the weekend and then AGAIN next weekend. OK, tomorrow she is coming back to babysit so I can go to this gig DP is playing in. But I would rather not go, and not have to have her here. Which is awful of me. And next weekend, the Game Fair is on at Blenheim (it is actually really good and far better than it sounds...) so they are coming for that.

I had better post this before it vanishes. My previous post was far better and incorporated more people! Very sorry. Happy Friday, y'all.

LadyThompson · 15/07/2011 15:55

Glad DD is giving you a bit more rest, Rubes.

Love to all those being marmalised by sleep deprivation.

Oh blimey, Beans, is it really the last half decent day weather-wise for a while?

Must go, I have done bugger all today. O is being very naughty lately (thinking back, it's since we moved - maybe it has unsettled her) - and I have absolutely had it up to here with rages, tears and tantrums over bugger all.

Rubena · 15/07/2011 16:38

I keep meaning to say Jam I know I didn't acknowledge your post from Florida (although I did in my head!) Think I messaged you on FB but sounds like you've also been v busy and sounds like it was a nice time despite the weather! Lady how funny we have cross texted / MN-ed!

Rubena · 15/07/2011 16:55

One final thing. Roomba (Pet Series) has changed my life [hgrin]

DeidreBarlow · 15/07/2011 17:17

Ooo Rubes what's Roomba?

DD got her first ever school report today. Brought a tear to my eye my little girl has done so well. I'm very proud of her.

TrudyVotion · 15/07/2011 17:23

Hi. Haven't finished reading yet but will never get the time to post if I wait til I've caught up. Am being harangued for a peanut butter sandwich - not sure how long DS will hold out!

PD these things can be so complicated. Can quite understand your feelings about the wake. I have strong feelings about people who encourage others in destructive habits, esp when they're 'friends' or relatives - where's the love in that?

Sorry to hear about the various house stresses. Glad to hear pox has by and large gone. DD had terrible CP when she was four but is left with just a handful of scars, two of which are on her forehead, unfortunately. Hello to people I haven't encountered on here before Smile

Haven't posted much as have just been so busy and tired, tho hurrah, M has slept much better lately. Oh dear, M now asking for porridge and DD making unmentionable mess in the kitchen making some biscuits by herself - see how lazy liberal I am?? I daren't venture in there for M's rations til she's finished. Oh, had the first session of my mad course this week, was crap, sadly. Will give it half a chance next week but if that one's crap too I'm not going to waste the time or the diesel. Have to drive through a horrible junction to get there and nearly caused an accident Blush Will be parking three miles away and walking next week. Also have an appt to see the mad nurse on Monday, which I'm taking as a chance to see if there's really anything wrong (this week has had very good and very bad moments, so I guess there is) and if I can get the sort of help I'm looking for.

Oh, DH back, must go. Oh did I say SS is moving out? It's all go here Hmm

ZuleikaJambiere · 15/07/2011 17:23

Welcome back Summer, your holiday sounds amazing and well worth the jetlag

And hurrah for sleep at last Rubes, long may it continue

Yuck at the poo Deids. Have fun tonight

LadyT is marmalised a real word? Never heard that one before but it is a lovely word. The benefits of mingling with all you clever people is a whole new education for me!

Dd's birthday present arrived yesterday (we are terribly mean and buy her one in December as she gets tons for Christmas). We've got her a big sandpit. But it needs assembling, so a weekend of DIY beckons. She'd better appreciate it

ZuleikaJambiere · 15/07/2011 17:26

Crossed with Deids and Trudy there - hurrah for little Deids Smile, but not good that you've had a mixed week Trudy. I hope the course comes good for you, sounds v frustrating

TrudyVotion · 15/07/2011 17:42

JJ thinking positive thoughts for the new little tiny one.

PD I hope today was manageable, not that I'm really sure what I mean by that.

spot sorry to hear that - house stuff can be such a roller coaster.

Summer your holiday sounds fab. I have very happy memories of Cambridge as I had a boyfriend at the university there when I was 18-19. It was all quite idyllic to me, but then I'm not a downhill mountain biker! DD's free wibbling sounds very cute.

I regularly have erotic dreams about my ex-BF - the one who went to Cambridge actually! I think it's because we were together for so long (seven years) at such a formative time in my life that even though I don't fancy him any more or have any desire to be with him and see him only once in a blue moon, on some strange buried level I feel I'm 'his', even though I'm big on my DH and very much want to be with him. I haven't explained that well.

Deids good potty news Smile

Thanks ZJ, I must sound like a basket case.

Right, have caught up at last (it's taken Octonauts, Bob the Builder, Gigglebiz and Chuggington) and M has wasted away to nothing waiting for his beanut putter sandwich. He's yawning in a very encouraging manner Grin DH and I are off to the bowls club BBq tonight - I know you're all jealous! We go to humour my father who loves trotting out the family on these occasions, and who is also a very good county standard bowls player >proud daughter< DH has taken a bit of cajoling to go, esp as he's veggie and usually seriously bums out at BBQs!

Kayzr · 15/07/2011 19:58

LadyT the wedding is meant to be the 3rd of May. We do really want to get married then still. But part of me is thinking if I am pregnant I'm going to look like I'm wearing a marquee Grin

VagolaJahooli · 15/07/2011 22:32

I hear you on the Roomba Rubes.

Deids Hooray for potty & school success.

Sorry the course seems a waste Trudy, I know Trace gets a lot from her nurse. It does seem so bizarre that there is not something in-between for early MH problems. I know there was a course for HCP & social workers who are SAHM or at least very part time workers that makes them able to help mums dealing with depression. The HCPs don't get paid its completely voluntary, but it sounded interesting. But maybe it never took off as I've never heard anyone seeing one.

Lady DS2 has been really sweet for a while and much easier to handle, then all of a sudden today he is a bloody nightmare. Hitting his brother because DS1 is doing a jigsaw puzzle instead if playing with him. Climbing all over a table at a lunch with some friends, going completely mental in the toilets at the cafe (don't you love the acoustics in toilets Blush ) and screaming because he didn't want me to go to the loo and then didn't want me to leave the loo! Maybe they are hitting a bad patch.

We went to IKEA tonight to get some bits and had dinner with the boys there. We didn't get home until 9.30pm so the boys will be shattered tomorrow. DH is currently trying to sort out a recap of the tour for us to watch as the ITV website has gone tits up.

JJ big white light for your friend. They have had a hard trot.

Spot putting the black light over your vendors.

SL glad you had a great time, DH loves mountain biking at whistler. When we met I tried some downhill runs with him, we used to go to PORC near Tunbridge Wells. But I always just ended up with painful hands and forearms because I was constantly on the breaks. I do like off road cycling though.

Woohoo he's sorted a review for us on eurosport so gotta go, I've got boys in lycra to watch.

Rubena · 16/07/2011 16:19

Deids This

DeidreBarlow · 16/07/2011 16:36

Oh I like those Rubes, I could really do with getting one - genius!

I have only just sobered up after my night outBlush. I really am far to old for hangovers. Actually I didn't drink that much tbh, I just can't tolerate alcohol the same the older I get. Oh well take-away and some cheerfulness later I thinkGrin
