DeidreBarlow · 03/07/2011 14:00

Why is he wearing his jacket, is it nippy at Wimbledon?? Get your guns out man!!

Asparaguses · 03/07/2011 14:00

Also meant to comment on the hair washing. I'm so jealous of Trudi, Veg and anyone who can get away without regular shampooing and not look like an oil slick. My skin and hair are grease factories. I HAVE to wash my gaur daily because after 24 hours it looks wet with grease. If I were to leave it to self wash I actually think people would notice within two days and probably start to think I was disgusting. Ho hum, it's a life of daily washing, conditioning, seruming and blow drying for me.

Asparaguses · 03/07/2011 14:05

Love Rafa sparing a few moments to wake George feel special. Love Rafa in general.

VagolaJahooli · 03/07/2011 15:13

Right I'm off over to Wimbledon to get ready to console Rafa, I think he needs my special emotional support.

DeidreBarlow · 03/07/2011 16:03

Hold that flight Vag....

VagolaJahooli · 03/07/2011 16:06

Dammit he must have heard I was coming and didn't want my special emotional support. Come on Rafa.

Asparaguses · 03/07/2011 16:41

I'm close to Wimbledon. Should probably jog down there right abt now.

VagolaJahooli · 03/07/2011 17:57

Please knock before you come in Asparagus.

DeidreBarlow · 03/07/2011 19:31

But Vag you didn't knock while I was there!Grin

spotofcheerfulness · 03/07/2011 20:03

Bunch of perverts.
JJ, I think the Tues am would work best for us as my mum isn't going to be around much (despite us staying at her house) so we could chat a bit more with the babies and T could have his granny time. Do you fancy coming to Ely? Will have a fair bit of travelling to do tomorrow so if you don't mind either way would be good to stay put for the day.
Will FB you with my phone no.

spotofcheerfulness · 03/07/2011 20:03

Especially you, Beans, with your daylight shagging. The very thought

TrudyVotion · 03/07/2011 20:52

15 girls born in 18 months and everyone is a girl... - no, really, every single one?! Grin Oh snarky snarky.

Sorry to hear about the pox - "baby gap" brilliant, not heard that one before. Poor DD had it when she was four and was absolutely ridden with it poor love, in her ears and everywhere else. Max seems to pick up everything going (I breastfed, that's not the deal, they're meant to be super-healthy and terribly clever and well behaved) so no doubt we'll get it sooner or later.

DD went to this music group this afternoon and Mr Creepy turned out to be the least of my worries. He's even more revolting up close than I remembered but fortunately he couldn't remember where he knew me from, and I wasn't about to refresh his memory. Fortunately I knew the other mum there so I could avoid him without just having to stick my nose in my book. Anyway, as I had thought might be the case, within 20 mins DD was really worked up and getting teary because she didn't know the pieces and couldn't keep up. The guy had said to her not to worry that a) she didn't know the pieces and b) probably wouldn't be able to keep up because they play quite fast but just to listen if she felt happier doing that. That's not DD's style though, if she can't do something it's the end of the world. In the end I managed to get her outside before the waters broke and we had the full heaving sobs routine. She even said she wanted to give up the violin, so that was a raging success! There's no reasoning with her when she gets like that so I had a brief word with the leader of the group and we sloped off. I felt terrible for her, it's awful watching them fall apart slowly and I'm not the sort to insist she goes back in there and gets on with it.

Sorry, I think I'm picking up where Rubes has left off - feel free to tell me stop blahing on Blush

TrudyVotion · 03/07/2011 20:57

I've found the toy! It's this - so happy!

TheInvisibleHand · 03/07/2011 22:16

urbs - my coolest ever moment was maybe a decade ago, finding myself in the ICA bar, drinking next to Jarvis, who was looking every inch as you'd expect.

Sorry not posted in ages - just lost the plot after the holiday. St Ives was lovely as ever, but 2 weeks was probably a bit much for all of us - the original plan had been to be with my sis and her family for one week and on our own for one, but that didn't happen and I think the DCs were missing other company by the end! Then came back to work mayhem and then A&E crisis as DD managed to shut the door with DS's finger in the hinge (icky, but nothing that won't fix and a very guilty feeling DH as it happened on his watch). Anyway, only just feel like I have rejoined the human race.

Sorry for the complete lack of personals - I have sort of tried to keep up but have managed to more or less lose track - will try to do better!

urbanewarrior · 03/07/2011 23:44

I heart piriton aspara - and felt like a proper mum for the first time ever as I already had calamine lotion and piriton syrup in the house. That or a girl guide Grin. And snark at baby gap. Is it from that Caitlin Moran book? I loved it - read the whole thing in a day last week [is there a skiving emoticon?]

That toy looks great trudy - have bookmarked for christmas. With DC3 due 7th December am going to have to be super organised this year. Which I love doing for christmas anyway so poor excuse. Sorry to hear your daughter didn't enjoy the music group. I hate joining in when everyone else knows what they're doing so can see where she's coming from.

Am hopeful that we get some sort of a night's sleep tonight as the DCs seem a bit better. 'Night all.

urbanewarrior · 03/07/2011 23:46

Invis I am v Envy. Also as I was kicking around drinking in the ICA bar 10 years ago*. It could have been me goddamit Grin.

*mainly because it was £1.50 to join and it had a licence until 1pm rather than a particular enthusiasm for contemporary art.

LadyThompson · 03/07/2011 23:49

Good to see you, Invis. How IS work, anyway? Is this new (ok, not so new now) job panning out?

Aspo, that's rough about the pox. And you Urbs! Sorry about Pulp. Festivals...I can't be fagged, though Latitude does sound good. DP's idea of a festival is Glyndebourne Grin and mine is Edinburgh....

You ladies getting into a froth about Nadal Grin I can't really think of anyone I fancy at the moment...it's such a shame. There must be someone...must wrack brains. Hence daytime shags aren't really an issue for me at right now. Probably reaching a bit of a crisis point but a baby next to the bed prob doesn't help.

Oh yeah, we were talking about shopping bills a few weeks ago and I said we spent about £100 a week. Well, we spent £220 the other day. Not even a lavish shop. But I worked out over £60 was nappies, baby food, wipes, formula etc

Trudy, I ff both mine through choice so am fully expecting them to grow up unhealthy and thick. Oh, that man sounded totally horrid, by the way. Ugh.

Wine snobbery - my take on it is this. I like el posho wines and champagnes and enjoy trying them. I also enjoy cheap ones (and enjoy trying them). I do find people who insist (and I do know a couple) who think that only French wine is worth bothering with. Same as people who think that France and Italy are the only proper places to go on hols. They give me the bloody vapours.

Beans, it's a shame your friends can't just make the beautiful food and not wang on about it. I don't mind people wanging on about stuff per se, because I find enthusiasm for anything so interesting and appealing. But not if it's in a self-aggrandising way.

Vag, I love Morrissey. Is your DH a fan?

Having lovely time at Mum's.

VagolaJahooli · 04/07/2011 00:39

Oooo DB was that you I walked in on, well you have been working out ;)

Lady I love him, DH has seen him once in North London with me but didn't remember the gig, but he was headlining the Saturday night so saw him and is now going on.about how much he likes him. Bless. He is playing here in Eindhoven but its when I'm in France. Do people really go on about holiday destinations? Though I do love Italy.

Hi Invis.

I'm up in the wee hours because I'm trying to decide where to camp out in the week before we go to Condom (Hehe). I have a choice of anywhere between Paris and the Bordeaux region. Any suggestions? Also both boys have suddenly spiked temps so I've git them both in with me. I'm I'm bed with two hot men, but not in the good way.

Beans36 · 04/07/2011 08:25

Morning all. Everyone was quiet yesterday!

Trudy - I'm 5 ft 6 too and weight 11 stone 1. I cannot seem to break the 10 stone barrier. And when I do, I then ping back up to just over 11. Really annoying. Post DD2 I stayed at 11 stone 8 til Xmas, then had a really nasty dose of flu (self-diagnosed as swine flu!!) and didn't want to eat at all, and 8lbs very quickly. Luckily have managed to keep them off, but just can't seem to lose any more. Probably because I eat like a horse. Oh dear.

How was your DD's music group? Did you manage to get some make up off her??!

Gutted Nadal lost so comprehensively yesterday. Weep. Djokovic is just such a teenager somehow. So grumpy and horrid. I'm sure he's really very nice, but still.

We watched Transformers last night while eating a Lloyd Grossman curry. Was delicious!

DD2 giving up her morning snooze. Gutted.

Right, must go and actually pay some attention to my daughters. Another lovely day today - hurrah! Park here we come!

Asparaguses · 04/07/2011 08:40

Urbs - 'baby gap' is indeed from Caitlin Moran. I loved her book and was laughing out loud at the section on naming your daughters' bits. Ended up reading it aloud to DH and now it's baby gap all the way (we were on bot-bot before, which, coincidentally is what CM eventually settled on).

DD2 is ravaged by the pox. Not an inch is spot free. Screamed in pain even in her sleep. I am utterly exhausted and cutting it v fine for a work meeting.

Effie - I hope you had a fun weekend under canvas. I want to pick your brain on campsites. We want a weekend of camping in mid Aug with friends. Somewhere quiet small and wild. Preferably with pitches in a wood or something so you don't get too much of a sense of others camping right next door. It needs to be within a couple of hours of London. Any recommendations?

LadyThompson · 04/07/2011 08:53

Oooooh the pox scares me. It sounds really hard. Neither of mine have had it....yet. Glad to hear Caitlin Moran's book is good, will order it. Great journalist, nice lady.

All these 5'6" ladies. There's me and Vag as well. Won't tell you how much I weigh still. I can only cope with kg as stones are too real/depressing!

Beans36 · 04/07/2011 08:59

Oh my god, I missed so many posts when I posted - will read back!

Beans36 · 04/07/2011 09:10

PS I had the most amazing dream about marrying my ex last night. I have woken up feeling very sad and confused. He is getting married in December, so think it's a bit on my mind at the moment, as we got on brilliantly, but he is 5 years younger than me and so was only 21 when we split up as I was looking to the future and marriage etc and he didn't want to til he was 30, which seemed ages. So there was no bad feelings in split, just sadness really. And he was very nice. I don't have ANY regrets about marrying DH (well, the usual ones all marriages have!!), but this did raise a couple of "what ifs" in my head and am now feeling a bit blue. Silly really. He's the one who was looking at buying our old house!

I love baby gap - brilliant! Trudy - Mr Creepy sounds grim. Yuck yuck.

So sorry about the pox - how horrid. But just think, once it's done, it's done. Phew!
