I've been on here waaaay too much today!

Reastie L is usually awake at this time as I tend to give her her last bottle around about now. However, she had a bottle at 7 this evening so I just put her in bed. I usually give her a bottle at tea time then let her play, sleep whatever while we eat tea. About 7ish I give her a bath/get her ready for bed then she has a play and cuddle with DH for a while and at around 9 or 10 she has her last bottle and usually goes to bed about 10 - 10.30. She usually gets up at 6 but she got up at 7 this morning meaning that all of her bottles were later. She's not had as many as she should have had. Technically she should have one at 11 but will probably sleep through it - oh well, probably an early start for me tomorrow!

Sorry, that was a bit boring! Blush

I have verbal diarrhoea, it's what you get when you're at home all day with small children! I need a job!

Morning everyone!

reastie I hope Alice settled and then slept well for you!

jane bummer about the AF but at least you can have another month of fun Grin

ledkr how you doing? Come back on and let us know how you are if you get a chance, hope you are just resting and catching up with your beautiful Dilly!

cant remember all the posts so sorry to those who Ive missed! Who was it that was going to get a slumberbear? Did you get one?

I think it was ponyo asking about my video monitor....yes I succumbed and ordered one! Not an expensive top of the range one, but its good enough. Quite funny actually as we set it up yesterday before harry's afternoon nap and it turns out that all this time we thought he was having a nice long nap, he is actually rolling around his cot and smiling at himself! Now wonder he is always tired Grin

Shouldnt complain as he slept 12 hours again last night!!!!! (well i say "slept" there was alot of rolling around going on, but at least he was quiet!)

I however, was awake from 5.30am!! Is my sleep ruined for life do you think?

Hope everyone had a decent night Grin

janedoe25 · 22/06/2011 07:34

debka octupusses? LOL my mind boggles, men are strange creatures! Grin Oh and well done to S for sitting up, where have all the little babies gone? They are growing so fast!

I hope L slept for you wandering.

ledkr if you are reading, i hope you are ok and i'm thinking about you x

suzy LOL at H rolling around and smilling when you think he is asleep, little monkey.

Day 6 and still no AF...........................

suzym1984 · 22/06/2011 09:16

ahhh Jane, why did i think AF had arrived?? silly me! theres still hope then, I will re-cross my fingerss and toes and cross harry's too Grin

He certainly is a little monkey! Going to put him down for his nap now, this should be funny!

ponyo meant to say before, we are no longer swaddling! Harry is now in a sleeping bag and he seems to love it! yey!

WanderingSheep · 22/06/2011 09:44

"Day 6 and no AF..." Did anyone else read that Big brother voice over style? Grin How strange Jane Confused What day are you in your cycle? Sometimes I have long cycles when I'm not on the pill (around 35 days). I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Suzy Harry sounds so cute rolling around and smiling to himself! Aww Smile. Your sleep isn't ruined forever, seriously, he sounds like he's doing well! DD1 wasn't quite sleeping through at 4 months (she would still get up in the night for a feed) and then after a few weeks she cracked it! Now she's like a teenager and I struggle to get her up some mornings!

Well L slept until 7 this morning! I had to go in a couple of times during the night because she was lying the wrong way in the cot etc and I could hear her wriggling about trying to get comfy. I had to turn her around and tuck her back in but other than that, she slept well.

I woke up at 6 in a panic, though, thinking that I had over slept Hmm went into the girls' bedroom and they were both sound asleep!

I had to use DD1's crappy old buggy for the school run. L is too small for it really (unsuitable for children under 6 months) but I couldn't carry her. I felt awful because she cried because she hated it. Oh well, fingers crossed that the m&p delivery comes today!

Well

janedoe25 · 22/06/2011 10:42

I think/thought it may be here soon as i had some brown spotting. wandering my cycle was always bang on 28 days, but who knows now!
Got my fingers crossed for that m&p delivery!

byronicheroine · 22/06/2011 11:03

Hi all, we've had a difficult couple of days but all is ok now.
K is fine now but... On Monday evening he had some blood in his nappy, this happened once before but this time there was more. So we took him to the out of hours surgery at the children's hospital. They kept us in overnight just to check him out and have some tests done - everything is fine, they think he has a slight allergy to cow's milk (that I drink) and so I have to cut out a few things (including chocolate !!).
However, the real Shock thing was the hospital. I don't want to sound like a snob but I really hope we never have to go to a private hospital here ever again- even one of the nurses asked what we were doing here and that we should leave (Greece I think) Hmm
It was a horrible experience and opened my eyes a whole lot [sheltered girl from the south west emoticon!]
The worst thing was the other people in our room. One little boy had swallowed bleach, he was ok (day 3 I think) but his mum was awful - she stank, had few teeth, smoked all the time outside the room on the balcony and even ordered in a six-pack of beer (who knew you could even do that?!?!) at 11 pm and 9 am the next morning.
The other little boy must have been 3 or 4, and from a (apologies in advance) gypsy family - most of which were in the room at one time or another. He was in cos he'd drank 4 glasses of vodka. The next morning his visiting sister was sick all over the balcony and the floor of the ward. I was so Shock I can't even describe it!! I just wanted to go home.
Between the kids crying and moaning (and screaming) all night I hardly slept and yesterday was a total write off. I also think we have completely messed up any routine K had....
I've slept now and K is fine, we are awaiting test results but I'm off milk and a few other things and there has been no more blood.
All the nurses were nice and said what a huge (one of them called him a giant!) baby he was, but healthy and alert and "clinically perfect". But when they took blood they made us leave the room and that was pretty traumatic (but he'd forgotten in 5 minutes and was probably easier for them to do it).
I did have a 6 in the morning "promise me we'll leave and go back to the UK" moment with poor DP. He was wonderful tho.
Sorry about that post, feel better already! Hope everyone is having better days that that :)

Deliaskis · 22/06/2011 11:08

jane the waiting is driving me crazy, never mind you! It could be your cycle is still settling down, but still 6 days, and no AF is still no AF...

Is anyone else's mn behaving weirdly today. I keep logging in and getting chucked out again. Grrrrr

janedoe25 · 22/06/2011 11:13

byron Poor K, im glad he is ok and they get to the root of the problem soon. I am so shocked at the beahviour of people in the hospital, how can you not realise your child has drank bleach/vodka! Some people really do not deserve to be parents Angry Oh and the nurse Angry And that is in a private hospital? My god words do fail me.

Im glad that you are ok now and K, of course.

janedoe25 · 22/06/2011 11:14

Hi delia, nope mines is fine!

Deliaskis · 22/06/2011 11:18

Oooh byronic sorry to hear about your traumatic few days and Shock at hospital experience. It's when things aren't going well that you just yearn to be back home isn't it? Glad things seem to be a little better for your and your clinically perfect baby!

Ledkr hope you're OK.

Yay for wandering and long sleeps, and for suzy and the end of swaddling. It's funny watching the monitor isn't it? I mean, obviously i don't mean I 'watch' it as I would a movie, but you do sometimes look at them and think 'what are you up to?', or 'go to sleep silly baby'.

Deb v impressed with sitting up. I can imagine with a terry nappy it's a bit like halfway between sitting in a bumbo and nothing!

[random] I had my arm cut off no computer yesterday as DH stole it, I tell you, he stole it Shock so off to catch up...

D

byronicheroine · 22/06/2011 11:24

Thanks jane I meant public hospital Blush but I know! Words have failed me too :)

ILovePonyo · 22/06/2011 12:41

Hello ladies, good god byronic that hospital experience sounds horrific Shock Those poor kids, bleach and vodka wtf?! Glad K is alright and hope you never have to venture back there again. I would have def had a "iwant to go hooome!" moment after that!

jane why are periods so annoying Grin Hope you can get back to ttc soon Wink

suzy you've stopped swaddling!! Yay good for you, glad its all going well. Video monitor are good aren't they :) Don't know what you're doing up at 5.30 though you nutter put a stop to that soon!

delia Grin at "go to sleep silly baby" indeed!

Well dd had a very unsettled night last night, I am feeling it today Shock (thats a yawn).
Went to a very nice (expensive) nursery today for a look about, much nicer than the other one.

Hello to everyone else, am feeling a bit dozy so sorry if missed anyone - hope ledkr is doing alright and when is wiggles back?

reastie · 22/06/2011 13:26

morning afternoon everyone,

jane I'm maintaining my crossed fingers/toes/hands/legs position for you but it's getting rather painful now being stuck like this so long Confused Wink

I have no idea when wigles comes back, think I forgot to ask in excitement for her going Grin

byron I am in complete Shock at the hospital. I must admit, I sat there like this Hmm for ages until you corrected the private hospital with public - I was wondering what on earth the public ones were like if that was a private one Grin . Sounds horrible horrible horrible. Did you have to go there to give birth or did you go to a private hosp?

I'm really Envy to those witrh a video monitor. Wish I had one but dh says its a no go as we've already got a boring bog standard one. D H and I looking to book our first family holiday in september and keeping costs low I've found a cheap self catering place by the sea side - we were laughing last night as the utility room has a double bed and shower in it Shock Grin Confused Shock

Oh and I'm so beyond excited as we are having a new carpet for our sitting room tomorrow - it's been a mess in there since we moved in so finally it is nearing completion. Then FIL is coming to help d h put the tv on the wall at the week end and then d h will prob spend the rest of the weekend trying to do his very important manly task of setting up the dvd speakers in just the right place to get perfect optimal surround sound for the tv Hmm Wink

chocoroo · 22/06/2011 17:19

Afternoon!

Chaos reigning here today...had to pop to shops first thing as DP needed new shin pads for footy but walked out of queue in Sports Direct cos he got sick of waiting the other day so guess who got stuck with getting him some!? Then Baby Sensory then a non napping baby who has just gagged on some pear and thrown up everywhere!

However, my trials are nothing on yours Byronic. Hospital sounds horrendous but good to know K is ok. Boo to the lack of chocolate though. Dark Green and Blacks doesn't have milk in it...it says it does but I can assure you it doesn't!

Reastie V exciting re: carpet. We don't have much carpet but I do love my new hall carpet. Total Sacco.

ponyo hope you managed a nap today :)

Delia I have a laptop, iPad and iPhone to ensure I never get cut off from MN and my social media!

Jane am still part crossed for you...it's all so confusing but they do say you don't get a false positive but you can get false negatives...you never know!

wandering Hurrah for sleep...any tips?

SuzyDo you actually put H down for a nap? I'm still letting R nap where she likes. May be time to break this habit I guess.

Right, R is grumbling so I better attend to her. I actually can't wait for DP to get home so I can sort the washing out. I've turned into a right saddo.

WanderingSheep · 22/06/2011 17:27

Reastie I bet you're finding it hard to type Wink (with your fingers crossed)

Byronic that sounds horrendous! Poor K, is it definitely a milk allergy or are they just trying to rule it out? and those poor children Sad

Well I can no longer post on my iphone for some reason Sad I can't log in (I dunno why) so I was just posting by typing my name and password in every time I posted, but now the message box (that you type the message in) completely disappears if you're not logged in so I can't do it anymore

Now I have to use a laptop where the full stop button is broken and I can't type for shit, so apologies!

OP posts:
byronicheroine · 22/06/2011 19:23

You know what got me through the night? The thought of that post to you lot!! Thanks for that :)
Reastie thank god we decided to pay and go private for the birth, I really would not have coped well with that at all!
choc great (you're not on commission for them are you?!>
ok well it's 9.20 and I'm in bed but K is in his cot screeching at the top of his lungs and not sleepy in the slightest. What have I done?
Good sleep vibes to everyone

byronicheroine · 22/06/2011 19:28

wandering no test results back as yet, there's a list of things I have to avoid like fish, eggs, spices, nuts and seeds, chocolate :( and milk products. Boring!
Dunno why MN isn't working for you today, I had the same prob the other week

debka · 22/06/2011 19:50

byron was thinking about you this am, sounds awful at the hospital poor you, K and other babies :(

Hellish day today here, barely any sleep and feel ill, Imy being AWFUL, just screaming and screaming and throwing things if she doesn't get her way, which then sets S off crying too. Why did I want 2 children???

S sat up in a disposable too today, I officially have a genius baby Grin, actually Imy sat up at that age too, and the less said about her today the better...!!!

Starting to worry about ledkr...

irishqueen don't know where you've got to but S's hair is starting to rival Maeve's!!

Doesn't wiggles get back tomorrow?

americanexpat · 22/06/2011 20:09

byronic - the hospital sounds like a nightmare. I hope it's a simple answer to K's problem.

debka - genius baby indeed! Grin

L went 5 hours between feeds last night so I had a glorious 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I insisted gently encouraged him to finish his feed at 11pm instead of letting him fall asleep halfway through. Hoping for a repeat tonight.

debka · 22/06/2011 20:20

expat I LONG for 4 hours of sleep! On that note- off to bed I think.

Night all!

reastie · 22/06/2011 21:17

deb hope you get lots of sleep and feel better tomorrow.

american I'm v Grin for you and your 4hrs sleep in a row - let's hope for a repeat performance :)

so byron just marmite on toast for you then Wink

just watching apprentice with a moaning alice, I'm so christmas style excited about my carpet I think I might not be able to sleep Grin Grin
