wigglesrock · 29/06/2011 21:47

reastie well done, feeling very proud of you Grin

ledkr yes, I almost lost my bottoms too, the fact that I was just swimming makes me think, is it me creating waves Blush

ILovePonyo · 29/06/2011 21:49

Interesting ledkr, don't blame you for not wanting to stop giving the baby rice if its (possibly) helping her to go til 6. Have got similar hopes for dd when I start giving baby rice, we'll see. Grin at cossie mishap and your ds haha!

Beauuutiful dress jane, am getting excitied to see a pic of you in it in Nov:)

reastie glad it all went ok, covered for 10years eh, wonder if you'll be keeping it in for that long Wink Grin

Bed time for me soon, dd didn't have a great sleep at my mums last night, lots of night wakings and up early - I was hopeful as when we stayed there last time she slept til 8.45am - what on earth?! - never before or since, oh well I can hope...

40Weeks · 29/06/2011 22:07

Jane wooooowwwwwww amazing dress. You will look amazing

tadjennyp · 29/06/2011 23:53

Wow, 40weeks you looked amazing and Mikey is gorgeous!

Jane, beautiful dress - you will be such a lovely bride.

Emski, ledkr, wiggles sorry about your grandparents. That must be so hard to watch.

Great photo Debka.

Any one else's lo blowing raspberries constantly? Grin

tadjennyp · 29/06/2011 23:54

Forgot to say well done reastie and hello to everyone else! Blush

Emski76 · 30/06/2011 07:31

Jane, the dress is beautiful,I actual said wow when I saw it. Your gonna look amazing and it is so worth paying for!
Loving hearing about your cossie mishaps! Nice to know it isn't just me!
Reastie, glad the op went well
My grampy went last night about half ten. Didn't get text from mum til 1am, called her and she'd just got home from the hospital. Thankfully she was quite calm, I wanted to drive up to her but she wouldn't let me. At least he is at peace now and it's all over. He was the kindest, gentlest person I have ever known.

reastie · 30/06/2011 07:45

oh ems :( i bet you didn't sleep much last night. he didn't make it to his birthday then. i hope you're alright and you're right about him being at peace now

Deliaskis · 30/06/2011 08:11

Hi ladies,

I have for some reason been coming on reading and catching up a bit but haven't really been posting much. However, am still here! Hope babies slept well last night.

jane the dress is really stunning, you'll look lovely and just as importantly you will feel amazing in it.

reastie brave lady, glad it went OK. Completely nodding in agreement re your comments re DH just thinking about getting himself ready!

Ledkr sorry but you just said (in a roundabout way) that you fancy Hagrid?

Emski sorry to hear your sad news. He is at peace now.

wiggles and Ledkr sorry to hear about your GP worries.

I had a funeral on Tuesday, my Mum's closest friend, who I have known my whole life. She had been poorly with BC on and off for about 12 years, and it finally got her. Very sad. There were about 200 people there, - she was such a lovely lady, and everybody knew her. Sad day, although wonderful service at the same time. I was exhausted for the rest of the day though. Hadn't realised how much it would take out of me.

LOL at 'swimming costume mishaps' I have a lovely black tankini that I bought a couple of years ago for a holiday to Barbados, and there, I was mainly drifting around the swimming pool, reclining on the deck of a yacht, or sunbathing in the garden, so I didn't actually 'do' much in it IYSWIM. I am now wearing the self same one for Water Babies, and the section below the boobs never stays in place when we're bobbing up and down with babies etc. exposing all my post-baby flab and lurvely stretch marks. Nice. Oh well, I am at least the only one in my class in a non-maternity cossie so I suppose it's not all bad.

C was fab at water babies again this week, and we are again having a really nice week. I have to say, it's actually about 3 weeks now that we have really not 'fallen out' (as in had a sh!t day), so am Grin about that. But then thinking, you could say, we're due... [glass half empty icon].

Went to look at nursery yesterday [yikes]. It was really nice and both DH and I are happy with it. It is weird though, and I am a bit on edge about things likee how they will get her to sleep (i.e. you need to spot her cues as otherwise she goes manic and lots of screaming ensues) at the right time etc. I also felt stupid as the only questions I could think if asking were about food and how they would deal with her starting solids etc. They kept showing me menus they used and I kept asking things like 'but what if by the time she starts, she has only had mashed carrot?'. DH was looking at me with a Confused shut up about mashed carrots crazy lady.

C is having bits of baby rice too. I am just starting to add some rice to the last bits of bottles that she struggles with (not every time, just the ones she is not happy to have), as because of reflux, she seems to find it easier to have something a bit more solid going down. Only rice so far, have got some porridge and also a few veg jars that I will start experimenting with next week (when she's 20 weeks). She seems to like having the rice though, keeps grabbing the spoon and ramming it towards her face, then when she's had some, holding her mouth open like a sparrow waiting for more.

Anyway, that's enough random waffle for now. Hope today is kind to you all.

Dx

40Weeks · 30/06/2011 08:20

Quick hello ladies

emski I am so sorry for your loss. It must be so hard, your poor mum

Delia loving th sparrow mouth

Ds2 has a vomiting bug, not sure if it's the start of chicken pox from ds1 he has a few spots but they haven't come to much since yesterday morning. God knows how we will manage preschool run, hope there is no puke en route! So won't be on much today as hands full! Have a good day everyone, thinking of you all

ledkr · 30/06/2011 10:54

ems sorry to hear that, will you be able to get to mum?is she far away?
delias D finds the rice a bit tricky but not sure if thats a cleft issue,i use lots of water to help it down.
Oh she has just rolled from front to back!! let the games commence Hmm
I just had a revalation. I was sat here thinking how much the house needed cleaning and decided to finish watching jezza then log on and tell you lot how dirty my house is and how lacking in motivation i am when all of a sudden i did a strange thing,i actually switched off the tv.left my net book on the sofa, and di some cleaning!!!!

ledkr · 30/06/2011 10:56

40 hope you didnt pass bug onto Sian the news lady, she looks like she needs a good meal as it is Grin

ILovePonyo · 30/06/2011 12:32

ledkr i have mopped my floors this morning Shock what is going on?!

delia sorry to hear about your mums friend. I can totally relate to the nursery anxiety, I have looked a nice one but though similar things to you - what if she gets over tired and cries and cries, what if she's fussy having her bottle etc etc. I'm sure they'll just deal with it but glad its not just me thinking like that :)
Grin at mashed carrots Grin
Here is a daft question - when you give baby rice do you use the left over milk from the bottle to give to her?! I don't feel embarrassed asking daft q's on here anymore Wink

emski so sorry about your grampy, hope you are looking after yourself xx

Last night was horrible, nothing to do with dd either, she slept really well. Poor dp went out with his friends for a meal, only had a couple of pints but when he got back his kidney was really hurting him, he ended up being up most of the night because of the pain and eventually vomiting loads :( He went out and got nurofen at about 3am which helped but was still being sick after.

He's at hosptial today (had an appt for a scan booked anyway) but I felt really bad for him last night, there was nothing I could do.

Deliaskis · 30/06/2011 12:55

Ponyo at the moment I am just mixing a bit of rice with leftover bottle milk, and TBH I started doing it this last week partly for my own amusement (bad mummy, I was just wondering what she would do if I tried it, having been back and to on the decision of early weaning cos of reflux). Now it's a convenient way to know she is actually having enough milk, plus she seems to enjoy it, she is certainly much more comfortable taking some of her milk this way, plus in terms of familiarity etc. she getting used to spoons etc. and we will need to start solids soon in earnest anyway. I guess when I am weaning 'properly' I will make up the requisite amount of 'food milk' per day, keep it in the fridge, and add it to what she is having as I go along.

PS sorry to hear about your DH, hope the medics get a good look at what is going on.

40weeks sorry about poorly DS2. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Ledkr stop the cleaning crazy lady, instead, get a cup of tea and recline on your sofa dreaming of Hagrid.

D

ledkr · 30/06/2011 13:33

I am not thinking of it as weaning and would certainly not do it if i was out for instance,im just getting her strated really.
Yes Hagrid is not a good example is it?yuck.
Am reclining now,but am off to sort out my clothes in a bit.
A strange thing is happening too,MY TUMMY IS GOING DOWN,Yes! It has defo started to shrink and ive lost no weight and shredded little, the over hang has lifted too,im quite pleased.
I have been following ww since Mon and so dont think anything has shifted yet, shall i still go to the weigh in or leave it this week?Chocco?Anyone?

janedoe25 · 30/06/2011 13:53

emski I am so sorry to hear about your grampy, i hope you are looking after yourself. My thoughts are with you and your family.

wigglesrock · 30/06/2011 14:04

Aaagh keep losing posts!!!!!

emski so sorry about your grampy, thoughts are with you and your Mum xx

ledkr glad your tummy is going down [said through gritted teeth Grin ], I seem to have the opposite issue!!!

ponyo Hope dps' scan is ok, know how worried you are about his health, even if you don't let on Grin

delia Glad you and C are having fun together, funny enough I bought baby rice for Anna today, didn't use it for the other two, but might let her have a sniff!! ponyo I wasn't exactly sure how I was going to make it up either, so thanks for asking!!

Well Sofia finished school today, think I may be re-thinking how much I'm looking forward all being together for the summer. Olivia has been off since Monday and we've already had a 30 minute quiz on "why can't rabbits swim", "why can't I have all the toys in the Argos book" and Sofia has fine dark hairs on her arms and legs and Olivia told her "you're hairy like Daddy" and "you need that stuff from the tv that kills hair" Shock Already thinking of locking them or myself away for the teenage years!!!

reastie · 30/06/2011 14:18

ponyo I had a frend who had that kidney pain thing and then lots of sickness and it was food poisoning Hmm

crazy mashed carrot lady delia glad you've had some positive weeks - i think you're just getting good at this mummy business and C is settling down Grin

just got an internet order from debenhams delivered with 5 options for dresses for alices christening. Not sure which one if any to go for Confused . They are all impossible to bf in (so will have to get almost naked to 'do it' Wink ) and no idea what weather to plan for. Anyway, all require further shopping for suitable jacket/shoes etc Grin

ledkr I've joined a cleaning thread recently Blush as I need to get my house in order. They arn't nearly as nice as you all though but it makes me do a bit more knowing I have to write a 'ta da' list at the end of the day to them (things I have done as opposed to to do) . go to the weigh in and well done you on the klack of floppy tummy Envy . I have the same tummy as wiggles and Ive just squeezed into a pair of support knickers but can hardly breathe and there's a big overhang at the top Blush

wiggles it's going to be one fun summer with all the girls home Wink

WeAreBorg · 30/06/2011 15:11

emski so sorry about Grampy, hope you and your mum are getting looked after.
Ponyo how is DP? Could it be a kidney infection do you think, hope he managed okay with his scan.
jane gorgeous dress, I can guarantee your DF will not care about how much it costs when he sees you in it!

Can't remember who mentioned wentworth miller but yum yum. I don't get out much these days so my perving of men I don't actually know has reached a level not seen since I was about 13 and genuinely believed that "if they met me they'd fancy me". Personal current favourite imaginary sex buddy is Eric from trueblood, although I have been faithful to him for a while so we're probably more like GF/BF now.

wiggles yes but why can't rabbits swim? your girls are gorgeous.

ledkr · 30/06/2011 15:11

ponyo, how is dh?Iwas in hosp with severe kidney infection a few yrs ago,was in a week, great fun when single parent at Hmm it was really painfull, poor him.
Dilly is amild pita today, not finishing bottles so wants to feed loads and isnt sleeping long enough to not wake grumpy.

ILovePonyo · 30/06/2011 15:31

Thanks for asking about dh all - I have been stressing as his appt was at 9.30 and he thought he'd only be an hour or so, he ended up having to have a ct scan too so didn't get back til 1.30 and his phone was off the whole time.
Don't think I said before but his kidney is partly blocked (has been for years apparently but the docs kept fobbing him off), he might have to have surgery, still don't know waiting for results from all the scans he's had recently. He had one 2 weeks ago where they injected him with dye then he couldn't hold dd after wards as he was radioactive! Shock

WeAre Grin at 'if they met me they would fancy me' - ah yes the random celebs I used to think that about :)

ledkr glad to hear about the tum - well done whatever you have been doing is working!

got to go dd is being noisy/grumpy, back later on :)

ledkr · 30/06/2011 16:15

Ponyp my ds has bad kidneys and has to have the radioactive thing too,we had to keep him away from children after which was hard when he was a child himself. God d really is winging today, when im on my own i keep muttering "oh bugger off" and stuff dh wouldnt be happy Grin Glad Ella is bakc so she can do her little mother act.

wigglesrock · 30/06/2011 16:41

ponyo I spent a vast amount of my time as a teenager convinced that Andrew McCarthy was going to whisk me away Blush, hope dp starts to feel better.

WeAreBorg rabbits are too hairy to swim Grin, although when hearing my explanation I seriously thought she was going to suggest we get two, shave one and run a little experiment. Me senses the force is strong with this one!! The girls look like my mum when she was little Shock, apart from Anna she looks like her Daddy but has her Grandas eyes! She still has her bright blue eyes, really strange when you see her with her sisters and their very dark eyes.

ledkr Anna has been a bit whingy today, but her cheeks are a bit warm!!

WeAreBorg · 30/06/2011 17:03

ponyo well hope DP is a bit better anyway, are they thinking of a stent or something? Hope DP doesn't mind his personal problems being discussed!

Nate has gone weird, well more so than usual. He is being a bit of a wuss these days, you know that bottom lip pout thing they do which is really cute, but doing it loads. Today he was frightened of 1. hoover, 2. the velcro on his wetsuit, 3. my friend who he sees all the time, 4. the shrieks (this word doesn't look right, is this a word, shreeks? shreaks? ) from the tennis, 5. the extractor fan over the cooker, 6. hand dryer in the changing rooms. But not scared of a fat well fed boy running and jumping and nearly landing on him in the pool, that was fine Confused

WeAreBorg · 30/06/2011 17:05

wiggles Grin at your shaven/hairy rabbit experiment. So mum knowledge, do we just lie so they think we know everything or do I have to do some serious learning now? Or just explain mummy is thick?
