Well done with the round ups deb and reastie big brother man couldn't have done better himself, and welcome back wiggles
hope you had a great holiday
all ok here after the hospital scare, think it must be a slight allergy. I'm finding it hard to stay off chocolate so many foods tho, think I had some cheese in my sandwich at lunch. Oops.
delia I'd be upset with that behaviour of MIL, can you have a word and explain how that makes you feel? Maybe she hasn't thought of that
jane oh well.... You'll just have to try try and try again. Enjoy! Think you must be getting my quota too (tbh you're quite welcome to it!)

chocoroo · 23/06/2011 14:48

So...
Yay to new carpet reastie, boo to AF Jane but yay to another month of ttc. Welcome back wiggles and where is ledkr? hope all is okay.

deb How lovely is it to feel like you instead of mummy? I love it. To feel especially like me I am planning a big girls day on Tuesday for Take That...have booked a double shift of babysitters...PIL in afternoon then DP is on duty with ones of my mates' DH in the evening. I'm so excited!

And Delia what a plonker your MIL is. I can usually think of mitigating circumstances for these things but I really can't this time. You might need to get DH to put is foot down, although I guess that's always easier said than done.

V worried about ledkr now. Does anyone have a number for her, even just to let her know we're thinking of her?

Swimming was a major success this morning. R loved it and kicked, splashed and laughed her way through it. She's asleep on the sheepskin rug now and I'm hoping it will be a big nap so I can watch Waterloo Road tidy up.

Had such a funny day with my mate,we had spray tans then had our eyebrows threaded and tinted,it was a stand in the shopping centre so we felt very foolish sat there with dye on our brows,my friend has very faint brows so when she sat up was crying with laughter, she looked like Charlie Chaplin or Maverick haw haw.We have the wedding tomorrow, ended up getting a nice maxi with a cardi and nice accesories including a huge bag for vodka,dh has been booking a hotel for tomorrow night and i just stopped him as he was about to confirm one at a DOG FRIENDLY one,is he mad? Yuck. I am off to do the school run then will have a little catch up,hope you are well.

debka · 23/06/2011 14:59

I've pm-ed ledkr but according to her profile this is the last thread she posted on. Really hope she's ok...

debka · 23/06/2011 15:00

YAY! Great x post!

reastie · 23/06/2011 15:14

great to hear from you ledkr, glad all well - you had us worried there Confused

too late debka - i found the cheesecake and polished it all off Grin Wink mmmmmmmmmm

byron glad things bit better

choc glad you enjoyed the swimming

well, i've taken down carpet piccie in dissapointment that the new fireplace has already blown dirt onto carpet and I've had to get the hoover out and just off to 1001 it Shock Sad Angry . Think I'm going to end out having to get a rug by the fireplace to stop carpet damage - dh hates rugs Confused

janedoe25 · 23/06/2011 15:35

yay ledkr you are back, glad you are ok. Hope you have a fab time at the wedding tommorrow, oh and try pinch some centre pieces for me Wink

wigglesrock · 23/06/2011 17:34

ledkr glad you are back from internet wilderness and with Prozac, lucky girl Wink Glad you got great outfit, sure you'll look scrumptious and besides you'll have a great time, bit of a drink, bit of a dance.

jane get period out of the way, and have fun with all the sex Grin

byronicheroine glad K is doing better and hope you are getting over your trip to hellhole hospital!!

chocoroo Anna loved swimming on holiday, glad you and R had fun.

deliaskis glaring at your mil

Have had quick read over posts, I do believe someone is trying to lay claim to hubby no2 Howard from TT, mitts off, he's mine, I liked him before anyone Grin

Well we had brilliant time, Anna was great, plane, heat etc didn't bother her at all, we kept her inside or in shade apart from a morning and afternoon swim. It was hard trying to prise her away from the staff, they just came, took her and covered her in kisses, looks like she may have developed her Mums penchant for Spanish men Grin Sofia and Olivia just played in the water most of the day and we were very lazy just sat about eating Blush

Sofias' dancing show was a laugh, its just for fun, they don't compete, she goes one afternoon a week after school, really enjoyed it, and she seemed much better Grin We visit Olivias' nursery school tomorrow morning for her induction hour, she's a bit nonplussed about the whole thing!!

Am going to post and update stats later, so any lurkers out there unmask yourself.

wigglesrock · 23/06/2011 17:51

PS have uploaded some photos

americanexpat · 23/06/2011 18:21

My sleep rates as news, how exciting. Grin No repeat last night, tried to get him to finish the bottle at 12 but he wasn't having it.

jane - I love your TTC talk! It's such an exciting time and I'm quite happy to live through you at the moment. Grin

ledkr - I thought of you today when I snapped a photo of L and Sophie. Glad everything is OK.

wiggles - sounds like a lovely holiday. No shame in lying about and eating, it's a holiday after all. Grin

DH joked (as in, was serious but acted like he was joking so when I called him a twunt he could say he wasn't serious) that since I'm home all day, I should be doing more housework. So, not only am I taking care of L all day, up half the night with him and still bringing in a half salary, I'm supposed to be the maid too? Confused Maybe he could do some housework in the evenings instead of just leaving dirty dishes and socks all over the house.

reastie · 23/06/2011 18:33

american I recommend not doing all the housework all the time then when you do do it he's more grateful/appreciative (ime Grin )

wiggles love love love the piccies - esp anna swimming and the matching s and o outfits - they look just like you there Grin speaking of childrens dancing shows a friend of mine was telling me once she was watching her child ballet show (I think) and who sat next to her but king god lord sir paul mccartney Shock Grin Envy as his little girl was in the same show. imagine that [beatles fan]

debka · 23/06/2011 19:30

reastie of all the people to go wobbly kneed over PAUL MCCARTNEY??!! No thanks!

wiggles great pictures, Anna looks so BIG! Glad you had a good holiday :)

expat if he's that bothered he can do it. Unfortunately my DH wouldn't notice if there were actual mushrooms growing on the toilet seat so that rarely works for me!

Do you know I think S may have gone from the biggest at birth to the smallest baby on the thread. She is 19 weeks and weighs just short of 12lbs AFAIK. Any other titchy contenders?

wigglesrock · 23/06/2011 19:39

reastie I'm with Debka, Paul Macca thumbs up, as he's called in our house, I'm not a fan, Mr W loves him. Its his dyed hair - gives me the willies Grin

debka I have no idea of Annas' weight, HV due out next week, Anna is 18 weeks and I haven't weighed her since April. HV is coming out to do 14-16 week review Hmm She is starting to sit up too, and I think she finally realised we had a dog today Grin It was really funny, she just kept staring at the dog, wouldn't take her eyes off her!!!

Hey all, welcome back wiggles what lovely holiday pics! Looks like you had a great time.

ledkr glad you're ok - we missed you and wiggles! Put up some piccies of the spray tan then Wink

deb I think I can make you feel a bit better - dd is just short of 12lbs at last weigh in and is 18weeks. The hv was a bit Hmm b'cos she's dropped a bit on her centile, she's 2nd centile now. But as long as babies look healthy etc I wouldn't worry?

choco nice to hear swimming went well, I can't wait to take dd! Did you put her in a cossie or just a nappy? We have a lambskin for dd, she loves sleeping on it :)

american Hmm at your dh re: housework, can you keep a can of polish near you so when he gets home you can spray it about a bit and he'll think you've been dusting?!

delia MIL sounds v annoying, poor you. Hope you;re feeling ok now - have you decided to do anything about it?

Am off to catch up with desperate housewives on Sky+ now, might be going to my first baby group tomo, eek! Heres to sleepy babies tonight :)

americanexpat · 23/06/2011 21:25

My housework standards are already pretty low, if I let it slip more I think it might be a health hazard. He has a higher filth tolerance than I do too. Ponyo - I don't want to encourage him, maybe I should spray the polish at him when he complains. Grin

For the swimmers, same question as Ponyo - what do you dress the babies in?

reastie · 23/06/2011 21:25

hahaha ponyo I see you have my thinking re:grabbing the polish. I once heard you can spray that spray polish stuff on radiators and so when they are on the polish smell makes your house 'fragrant' - maybe we should all do that in winter so all out d hs think we beaver away all day . Think it would have limited use though as after a few months it would be obv there was no dusting going on!

okokok deb and wiggles in my defence re: mccarney I mean wobbly legs in an in awe as opposed to hunky way (should have been more specific I know). that would be plain weird to be all overcome by hottness by a grandad ages man Hmm

wigglesrock · 23/06/2011 21:36

I dress Anna in a swim nappy, (I like Tescos own or Huggies, I thought Boots were very fiddly) and a swimming costume, I only covered her body because of the sun. If you are getting a swimming costume, get a size bigger (Anna was in 6-9 months), tight wet swimming suit, panicky mummy and slippery baby not a good mix Grin I once used a swimming costume with a built in nappy for Olivia, lets just say it didn't end well, she did a massive, unexpected poo and in the end I just turfed everything out, not pleasant!!

Ok, reastie you are slightly forgiven re Macca but I saw Gabriel Byrne in real life and he was stunningly attractive, like seriously "my God, I can barely breathe". I also spoke to Andy from CBeebies in Belfast a couple of years ago, Sofia recognised him outside M&S and shouted out his name Blush, he came over and was so lovely to both girls, really, really nice so he might be my secret crush Blush

chocoroo · 23/06/2011 22:06

Evening!

Couple of glasses of wine in here so you'll have to forgive me.

wiggles Gorgeous hol snaps, am very Envy but the girls are lovely. Oh, and if you're a Howard fan please check out my pics and tell me DP doesn't look like him!

Reastie You're bonkers. Macca is a bit creepy for me. Must be the
hair dye. Although my strange crushes are weirder than tat so will
shut up!

American what is this polish you speak of? I Hoover once a week. Will assume I am a slattern.

Ponyo R has a Huggies swim nappy, a mothercare swim nappy and a swimming costume (Peppa Pig). I am paranoid about poop and the teacher kept going on about the dual barrier method and I didn't think her little pink costume would count as something that would keep poo in! Agree with wiggles though, get a costume a size bigger...R didn't half whine when I peeled hers off her.

In terms of weight, R is about 16lb so still on the large side! She did drop from 75th centile last week though and HV glared at me after refusing to give me weaning advice Hmm

hubbard86 · 24/06/2011 00:33

hello ladies, not been on for a couple of days due to an anxiety attack, gosh you lot are a chatty bunch.
ledkr glad your feeling better
wiggles hope you had a fab holiday.
debka freya was on 75th centile and is now on the 40th but she is very long 91st centile for height, her dad is 6ft4 and i'm 5ft11 so she was never gonna be a short arse. Very impressed at the white chocolate cheesecake. I tried to make one once but sent dh for the ingredients and he came back with cheese spread instead of cream cheese so it never happened. Got to make a coffee cake with a coffee buttercream for sunday as its mothers birthday.
reastie poor you with a dirty carpet already, you will be constantly cleaning it for the next 10years.
jane have fun
I have started giving freya some baby rice and fruit puree in the evening and she is now sleeping 7.30 - 7.30 without a feed and only 1 dummy run fingers x'd. She was already on hungry baby milk and going 2.5 hrs between 6oz feeds, putting everything in her mouth and trying to grab food off us so decided to try her. Only doing a tsp a day but its doingthe job for the moment
Sorry if i've missed anyone but you really are a chatty bunch

Emski76 · 24/06/2011 07:24

Hubbard, I hope your ok after your anxiety attack. Good to hear from you.
Ponyo, Noah wears a swimming nappy and a costume to swimming, and it is a size bigger. I like to think it keeps him warm.
Wiggles, I also have a secret crush on Andy from CBeebies, especially with his longer hair. Mmmmmmmm.
American, I do my housework once a week and have been known to go around the living room on my hands and knees picking up bits rather than Hoover when we have visitors. Dh luckily is a slob so doesn't notice if the house needs a clean. He's be in trouble if he ever dared to mention it. He looked really surprised last night when I'd actually made a lasagne for tea, that's how much of a domestic goddess I am not!
Delia, your mil is being very naughty, you need to have a word with her re routine. Dh had to talk to mil several times when she first started looking after Ben and now she's fab.
Wiggles, Anna looks fab and so grown up in the photos. Looks like you had a fab time!
Debka, White choc cheesecake, yummy, send some my way

reastie · 24/06/2011 07:34

morning

hubbard hope you're Ok re: anxiety Confused and glad freya enjoying baby rice. alice is 4 months today so has reached the unofficial age of giving her food Hmm . actually question re: baby rice - the pack says use with formula milk or expressed milk - erm, can you use cool boiled water instead? I don't like giving alice more formula than needed and I'm lazy bum never getting the chance to express.

wiggles i meant to say re: photos how big anna is looking now - they're not little babies anymore are they [sob]

choc - please - the macca thing is a starstruck/talent in awe, not a sexy thing Hmm .

DH and I got cross had words last night as I got frustrated as he just carries on as he was pre dd in what he wants to do (don't get me wrong, he's great at looking after her, just not so great at prioritising what needs doign when based on alices schedule). Alice was due for a feed in about 10 mins but needed a bath first (which he does) but he decided he needed to do internet banking first. When I nagged suggested he should give alice a bath first and then do the internet stuff after while i was feeding alice he got all Confused Hmm [annyoed] with me. H e just doesn't ever think about these things I don't think - like when he comes home from work and I'm trying to feed alice/ cook burn 2 seperate dinners (long story - we always seem to eat different meals)/entertain alice/eat dinner/make him a cuppa/clean etc etc and he gets out the shower and faffs about for ages doing goodness knows what and i'm downstairs desperate for help tryign to do everything at once and failing in everything.

janedoe25 · 24/06/2011 07:43

hubbard are you ok? I really feel for you, i used to suffer anxiety attacks in my early 20s, they were pretty scarey.

wiggles loving the photos, the girls looked as thougth they had an amazing time!

The schools here break up for the summer today, so i am off work as of 9am for 7 weeks Shock really bricking it as i am skint! I need to get some full time children but i dont think i am ready to care for babies/toddlers at the moment!

We were at TGI fridays last night with the fil, at the table opposite us there was a little girl with DS. I couldnt keep my eyes off her, i was a sobbing mess. It sometimes hurts more when i am grieveing for the person Zoe would have become. All fil gabbed on about was his friend who's baby was stillborn 40 odd years ago, i wanted to shout at him to STFU, i am crying because of my daughter not your friend!

oops, sorry for the rant hormone overload here Blush
