Albrecht I snorted out loud at "Sandi Toksvig" Grin

tsc c'mon, I'm a United fan but Rooney and Scholes bleurgh. Ugly-wife-cheater-with-a-hooker and very ginger, respectively

My list I'd do is Eric Cantona (more in his younger days), Robert Downey Jr (yum), John Cusack, Joshua Jackson, oh there's prob a few others. Oh, Ryan Giggs was on there but I've gone off him lately Grin.

Trudyla · 11/06/2011 19:16

I fancy Rooney too. He's cute. Not Scholes though.

Others include: James Mcavoy, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp and James Dean. The latter obviously wouldn't go on my laminated list though cos he's dead.

Not a very good day today. I'm trying to get M to be more independant, so every time she cries for me to pick her up, I go down on her level and try and distract her. Mmmh, full on never ending screaming is not a success, is it. Oh well, I will continue for a bit and see if it'll work eventually. Went to a play cafe today and M screamed and cried every time another child as much as looked at her. She seems so scared and I don't know why. So overall a day of screaming here Sad

viksam I saw you commenting on WSS's daughters asking about the age gap. That is so funny. I am obsessed about age gaps now and want to ask random strangers what the gap is between their children, hoping they will say, Oh it's 15 months and it was and is soooo easy Grin

cake Did you get my PM? Just worried, something went wrong.

Oh and I love Keira Knightley and she would be on my list if so I wished. And she is not bony, just nice and slim, like I want to be.

Albrecht M. normally has only one nap these days from 12.30 for 1.5 or 2 hours.

Needle How is it going?

Stac How is R?

Sorry for the random thoughts, can't remember all I wanted to say, too much to catch up on. Will try and get on more regularly again.

See yas.

malibustac · 11/06/2011 19:22

Yum to gerard butler, I like ewan mcgregor, simon cowell Blush. I sway betwwen bad boys and pretty boys so jason stratum and danny dyer are in there too. Poor dp's not got a look in.

R has tonsillitus we went to the out of hours gp. Could really go wine o'clock but wouldn't with lo being unwell.

tsc are you feeling ok now he's away? Do you think alls well? Loving the retort poor dp knows I can do it alone. As I say I've done it before I can do it again

But Rooney looks like Shrek! Lol at not even Coleen fancying him anymore.

Trudy I don't think there is a "perfect" age gap, everyone worries if it's too close it'll be too hard but too far apart and what will they ever have in common? And will the older one have got so used to being the only one that they freak out about another child? Our age gap wasn't planned that way - we wanted it to be much smaller. We started trying for dc2 when A was 6 months old but it took 16 months to get pg. I was getting so worried about my ancient, shrivelled up ovaries that I was just delighted to have any age gap at all as I was convincing myself I would never get pg again.

Busy on here again!

Woodlands that sounds lovely - enjoy!

How annoying Mlic, esp after all that effort!

viksam hope things are ok there after your dream/conversation with dh

stac how are you and R

Busy trying to pack for our holiday 2moro, but struggling as Lucas isn't great so refusing to nap being v clingy, has a temperature and is up half the night. Going to put this down the mmr. Strangely though he has eaten slightly better the.last 2 days. He's also walking tons now and has his first and second pair of shoes. My friend is a children's shoe fitter and measured him last week. He was in a strop so I didn't buy any but she called me later to say she thought she had her ds2's shoes that were same size. They'd hardly been worn and mainly in house and in his buggy. He'd also grown out of them in 2weeks. (if I've said this b4 sorry - am a little brain dead with only 4 it 5 hrs sleep a night :-( )

cake v jealous if your film night and having a child free morning.

Needle sorry to hear you're having a rough time

Sorry if I've missed anyone. Will try to check in 2moro, b4 we go, otherwise someone will have to give me an overview when I get back Grin

viksam · 11/06/2011 19:36

trudy I went to a party today and there was a woman there with a 17month old and a younger one, i asked how old the younger one was and she said 8 months, i just stood there with my mouth open trying to work it out..........the 8 month old wasnt hers, she found it very funny!!
D was so funny at the party, he was crawling around taking food off peoples plates, greedy boy! Hes been lovely again today but im minging! DH is also minging but in a poorly way, im just very very tired.
mylife Man, thats shit shitty shit pants, i felt dead sorry for u when i read that. Ive just ordered chinky for the second night in a row.......BAD!!!!
dh have a fab time tonight, and you woodlands sounds ace where u are, u lucky thing!
Well, good luck ladies for a sleep filled night!!!

viksam · 11/06/2011 19:42

melissa Its needles that had the convo/dream with her DH, How are things needles?

Chulita · 11/06/2011 20:10

viksam I am sooooo with you on Bruce Willis, lovely!
I also think Daniel Craig, Jason Stratham (sp?) are pretty hot but tbh I don't tend to find people on tv/celebrities as attractive as people I meet iyswim, I just find tv stuff so plastic [not a telly addict emoticon]

I've got a friend who's got two 14 months apart and has 19 months between 2nd and 3rd dc. She's gorgeous, calm, collected and a great advert for squeezing them all in close :)

I made maple pecan slice for pud rather than lemon whip and oh my goodness it's possibly the tastiest thing I've eaten for a long, long time. I had to give half to the friends to take home or I'd have fought DH for it!

I agree with all of you who say Keira K is too skinny, far, far too thin for my liking. I'd like to have a body a bit more Shakira-esque personally.

woodlands Envy

Chulita · 11/06/2011 20:11

mlic you don't need the cream, just think of what it's saving you in calories that you can spend on chocolate

tsc I hope you manage to chill out and not worry this weekend. Sounds like your dp did everything he could to help today!

Chulita · 11/06/2011 20:12

stac Simon C Shock really? Shock seriously, that emoticon just doesn't convey the Shock required for such a statement! Poor R, you got ABs for her?

malibustac · 11/06/2011 20:24

chu I have to say I think its the power he has. Think its his attitude rather than looks and I know others who say the same. He is ugly right enough. Yeah she has a ten day course of penicyllan(sp)

Spirael · 11/06/2011 20:27

You guys talk way too quickly! Confused I can't believe we're at nearly 400 posts already. It's a struggle to keep up!

Your guess was accurate, Cake. I was indeed roleplaying yesterday evening! The game system is derived from DnD, my character is an Elf, however it's a futuristic game set in Seattle.

Did you never think of getting back into roleplaying? Wink It's can be very civilised, you have friends over for a delicious dinner then all sit in comfort in the lounge with drinks and nibbles. But instead of discussing current affairs, the weather, sports, etc...instead you get to go hunting giant radioactive rats or saving the world from powerhungry megalomaniacs.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4 today, I'm seeing the X-Men movie next week. :)

My week was just a collection of annoyances really, mostly to do with work. In an effort to progress, I managed to obtain a secondment to a different department weeks ago. But my current department are dragging their heels to a ridiculous level about letting me go and sticking me with all the rubbish tasks since I'm meant to be leaving.

Then one colleague announced they were moving teams, pushing back my move date. Then my team leader announced she's moving to America, pushing back my move date and rubbing salt in the wound that my emigration plans have just been delayed again thanks to Canada Immigration putting a whole load of old applications into a black hole for the next two years.

There's also the fact that I might be a candidate for the newly available team leader position, but I doubt they'll take any application from me seriously now since I'm meant to be seconded out. :(

Anyway, I still haven't decided what to get with my windfall. Grin There's nothing appearing on the site that has particularly grabbed me just yet, but it seems to run like the Christmas Flash Sales on Amazon, so the stock all rotates every few days.

I think I'll end up getting something like a booster seat/stair gate, or some kitchen utensils, or possibly something fun for the garden.

Speaking of which, M's sandpit/paddling pool from her doting DGPs turned up today. Grin It's amazing, it looks like a boat and has little waterways in the lid! I'm debating getting it set up so M can use it ahead of her birthday, if we get nice weather.

Albrecht, M's been reducing down to 1 nap recently. She seems to take it at about 11:30am until about 1pm, according to the nursery. But today she only took a 45 minute nap at about 1:30pm and seemed just fine. She was tired but not overtired at bedtime and settled with no problems. (She does however sleep exceptionally well overnight.)

Can there be a geeky corner in the thread too Cake? I'll run a DnD game in it for anyone interested!

For man preferances, it sounds like I'll have all the men that TSC and MLIC don't want! Wink Pretty-boys all the way for me, my list would include the likes of Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, etc.

As for famous lookalikes, the only person I've ever been compared to is Moaning Myrtle of Harry Potter. Hmm I fear I need new friends!

CakeandRoses · 11/06/2011 20:30

it's not even his face or his self-inflated twattery tho stac, it's that awful, terrible, disgusting square hair he has with the very unsettling mini middle parting

poor poor R. you're really all going thru it at the mo aren;t you.

oh mlic I HATE that when that happens. feel like storming back to the shop but as you say that;s never going to happen with a toddler and baby in tow

yes trudy, so sorry, i read it at a weird time when i couldn't reply and then it slipped my mind Blush i will reply!

very Envy woodlands hope you have a wonderful time

i don't envy you tho melissa. really hope things get easier for you soon!

tsc you have to say share with a poor woman, pm us. R is still clingy and upset. She's just fell asleep though so we'll see how tonight goes.

cakes properly laughed at what you said about simon cowell, dp looked at me like I was stupid.

Needle · 11/06/2011 21:19

Evening Ladies- I seem to have missed a whole day of chat, it's taken me ages to catch up!

Well, I am now suitable convinced that my weird conversation with DH was a dream. Thinking back, I overlooked the detail where I grabbed G and ran away and we lived in Hyde park for a week and I fed her berries and ice creams from an Ice cream man who felt sorry for us. Felt a little bit embarrassed when I remembered that little detail.
International Knit in Public day was brilliant- I took G with me and we spent all day at the knitting shop where I go to my group and we just gossipped and knitted and ate cake all day. Gwiffle chased pigeons. It's the most gorgeous, gorgeous shop up in St John's Wood- really chic and boutiquey, with huge leather sofas and rocking chairs and not in the slightest bit grandma-y. DH drove all the way up to drive us home, so we didn't have to take the bus, which was a nice surprise.

I can't believe I missed the whole conversation about famous men, and now I can't remember any of the famous people I like. Apparently I'm obliged to say DH, even though he's not really properly famous. I like manly men though, and they have to be hairy- I can't stand shiny, hairless men. I have a soft spot for Patrick Stewart though, even though he's about a hundred.
I have been told over the years that I look like Liv Tyler (seriously?!) Honeysuckle Weekes and DH just told me that he thinks I look like Nigella Lawson. He sooo isn't getting any tonight.

Albrecht I saw on FB that you're from Shetland- are you a knitter? I only ask because I'm just about to start a Shetland lace project, and am wondering if I'm completely man to consider it.

CakeandRoses · 11/06/2011 21:32

just settling down to watch daniel craig (in james bond) catch you all later...
