memph the last king of scotland isn't easy watching in some ways as the subject matter is harrowing stuff (obv) but there's some funny bits too and overall a very watchable film. James is wonderful in it

i totally agree re keira. she's actually the reason i haven't watched atonement. i'm actually on strike about her films (which isn't usually too much of a sacrifice) as dh jokingly said yonks ago (when we were still just friends) that he'd leave his (then non-existant) wife for her, or words to that effect. i've never let him forget it and refuse to watch any of her films with him!

cakes I didnt think people ACTUALLY saw her as a sex symbol, shes all boney and boy like! dh's woman he would leave us for is Danni Minogue! I have two, James McAvoy and Cain from Emmerdale, but only if he acted like the badboy he is on screen!!!

Dylthan Aw thank you. He was actually covered in spots when he was born but they hardly show in those photos.

So I don't know if I had sleep success or not. We did one nap yesterday but he was still waking loads, then cried and would not stop fannying about for 1.5 hours at 1am... not good, had to get dh up. But at 5.15 he sat up and I thought, here we go as that's when he's usually up but he just lay down on my chest and slept for an hour. Then fed and napped til 7.45! So I should give the one nap another shot today, right as I had some good results?

Those of you whose dc are down to one nap when do they have it, please?

MLIC Love the video. I am Shock at your finances though, I could not live with that.

stac Hope she's better soon. I am such an idiot, I have been reading your name as Mali-bus-tac.

Needle Re the knitting does it count if you are outside but no one is around? And I agree with Memphis it only takes a minute to say, "I know I'm being crap atm, sorry."

Albrecht · 11/06/2011 11:09

Shit he's only had 45mins, this isn't going to work is it...

Albrecht · 11/06/2011 11:12

Awww man I hate James. One of those "Oh me, attractive, well I don't know, if you think so." men, bleurgh.

I'm more of a Philip Seymor Hoffman person myself Wink. Or Julianne Moore.

albrecht its meant to be malibu stac like the doll in the simpsons lol. I couldn't put a hyphen in. That is success, I would definitely try it again.

Albrecht · 11/06/2011 11:37

Sorry MLIC I really didn't mean to sound judgey. I was just surprised about the nursery thing but I'll shut up now.

I annoy mlic all the time with my comments ref her finances and dh alb, you'll have to get in line behind me for a beating from her Wink

It won't surprise to hear that on this thread there's there's a feminist corner, a 50s Housewife and Proud corner and a few inbetweeners. I have my arse sitting firmly (and unshaven) in the feminist corner altho i'm one of the most housewifey baking 'n' soft furnishing types on here.

re the one nap - may he'll have longer if it's later? A only has one - around 11ish for 2 hours.

yy, i don't fancy Mr McAvoy AT ALL, i'm only admiring his actoooorialness.

memph the only film i thought she was attractive in was The Hole when she was younger and much less bony. Funnily enough Dannii Minogue is the sleb i've been told i most look like (i can't see it). I'd fancy Angelina if i was a man and a little bit anyway Grin

Phew MILC. I should have thought before posting that though as I'm sure your sick of explaining yourself. And I need to remember that what works for me isn't for everyone.

I will try that tomorrow re the nap Cakes. I was once told by a man I was in love with that I looked like Sandi Toksvig.

memphis83 · 11/06/2011 13:15

cakes I will keep dh away from you then, he is totally smitten, I always read a trashy sleb mag in the bath just as I want something I can read without having to concentrate and I asked dh to get me one, he came back with one that had Danni on the front!
I always get called Willow, people think I look like the annoying ginger in Buffy, she was also the on in American pie so I always get shouted at me 'and one day at band camp..... ' very boring!!!
dh has gone out again to go to work to clean his off roader to sell to put towards a car, so I may get a car sooner than expected Grin

Like your retort to dp tsc :D but wayne rooney? that's just wrong/verging on illegal especially when said in the same breath as the Angel Bettany.

Properly snorted at trent d'arby and rik mayall - I can see it a bit!

F's the same as E, mlic, a proper little wuss about spiders even tho we aren't bothered about anything like that. I wonder if its the staff at nursery or just instinctive?

argh too many posts to catch up on!

am still on holiday but am now in posh hotel (my prize i won in that Mumsnet competition) so finally have some internet! must go and do J's tea shortly but need to mark my place so will quickly answer some of the survey questions I've missed.

J has just started crawling today! So no walking yet.
Two teeth but has been teething like mad this week and has four bumps under the gum at the top.
3-4 BFs a day now, 6am, lunchtime and 7pm. Occasionally an extra one mid afternoon when teething/upset/bored. Night feeds are now a thing of the past! J slept through for the first time less than two weeks ago and is now doing it about three out of four nights. woohoo! He wakes at 6am but plays happily on the floor by the bed for a while.

No dishwasher, no tumble dryer. No space in our small kitchen! It has been nice having a dishwasher on holiday but I don't mind not having one.

We do an activity most days, generally in the morning (swimming, baby group, buggy bootcamp, singalong). I catch up on housework while J is napping. After his nap we normally go to the park or round to a friend's house.

I sweep the kitchen floor when it needs it, mop weekly, but I do wipe under the high chair after every meal anyway.

DH changes J's first nappy every morning and reads him a story before bed, and apart from that helps as and when he's around. I reckon I should do all the housework and cooking while I'm not working but he doesn't agree so does his fair share. His attitude is that my job is looking after the baby and then we share that and housework when he's around. He's a good'un. This morning he looked after J for a couple of hours while I went for a swim, a sauna and a coffee. mmm!

Tonight we're having a posh dinner in the hotel restaurant and since it is free, we've booked a babysitter! Can't wait. Must go and do his tea first.
