Hope this is ok? Thought it was subtle enough for the wider MN and not offensive!!

Blimey you've beenchatty. Thx for the lovely sympathy and advice about Thursday night. It was a dark night of the soul indeed. And would you believe it, the childminder was sick so I had dd1 unexpectedly all day, too but wehad visitors and I coped and then we went go see my best friend and did tea, bath there and I drove us back late at night which went well. I am coping so much better with the deep deprivation this time. So far... But I was very miserable and it really helped to unload on you all thank you

Re sex drive. Almost non existent here. But what I do know is the more I do it, the more I feel like doing it. And sometimes we have to schedule it in. If we wait until after dinner, we end up too tired, so sometimes we do it before supper. Although this is all Pre dd2 info as we've barely done it since she arrived. Abd I had my mirena coil put in last week and I'm still bleeding g relatively heavily. Should I be worried? check up in 4 weeks.

Beans33 · 29/05/2011 07:51

WG - I had a mirena coil for a few months post DD2. Must say, I never got along with it. Bled for 10 weeks then had to go on anti-bleeding pills, which worked for 2 weeks, then bled for another 5 weeks, so had it removed and am on Microgynon 30, which pre babies, I was on forever. I know it works and doesn't seem to affect me in any negative way. But my sister has a mirena coil and swears by it. Thinks it's amazing!

Spot - it does sound really hard work for you with B. He sounds like such a brave, lovely little boy. I know loads of babies who don't like being on their tummies, so they're never put on them and it doesn't seem to affect their development at all. It's amazing how you have adjusted to it all and are just getting on with it, with hardly any mention of it all. I am in awe of you. And agreed, it will get easier when he can sit up on his own. How many months is he now? I get so confused with timings! We need a 2010 onwards list! Shall I start off??!

Or is that too silly???

PS Better night here last night. DD1 had brief moment when couldn't find Sheepy at 12.30, DD2 stirred and screamed at 4.45 then back to sleep. Although was then up at 5.45, but I ignored til 6.15. Phew. I was asleep by 10.15pm though. Brilliant. Going to put them both down for a lunchtime sleep today and try to have a few zzzzzzs myself too.

EffiePerine · 29/05/2011 08:03

Beans I would love a second baby list, I tend to think off all the you get siblings as being tiny babies still.

WG: glad to hear Friday was a better day for you :)

EffiePerine · 29/05/2011 08:09

Vag: he's eating breakfast this morning which is an improvement. It has made him v miserable though.

Waitinggirl - 24.02.11 - DD2 - Georgia Emily - 7lbs 5oz

Adding myself. This baby apparently likes to sleep in our bed. A bit of boob in gob while lying down, then detach and let her sleep with us. Making it all the more manageable. No doubt storing trouble up for later, but whatever works for now...

Have started a fiddly recipefor lunch which I wish I never started. Ugh. Needs a lattice cutter, whatever that is

Beans33 · 29/05/2011 08:17

Ooh, ooh - here's even more of a list, so we know about everyone's children!!

Beans - 2 DDs
06.12.08 - DD1 - Isabella Sarah - 6lbs 13oz
20.06.10 - DD2 - Prudence Emily - 6lbs 13oz
Waitinggirl - 2 DDs

24.02.11 - DD2 Georgia Emily - 7lbs 5oz

Sorry, WG, can't find the old list to add in Madam!! But do you want to add and then maybe we can all put in all our nippers - or is that too much? But I get so muddled, so would be lovely to remember who has what all in one go!!! Older and younger siblings of Dec 08 nippers?

OP posts:
TrudyVotion · 29/05/2011 08:52

TrudyVotion · 29/05/2011 13:08

A couple of people have asked about Mindfulness and I've done a really crap job of explaining, mainly because I haven't made the time to really get stuck in. I'm doing that now, and have found a http://hubpages.com/hub/Art-of-Mindfulness-Did-You-Eat-That-Apple site that's doing a fairly good job of explaining it. This section sums it up well:

By training in mindfulness you learn to observe your thoughts and feelings, this changes your habit of being embroiled in them. Now your thoughts and feelings begin to lose control on you and you find yourself rather free to respond as you would like to, rather than just reacting robotically.

There's lots of fluff about meditation and detachment and so on, but my understanding, certainly as it applies to me, is to be sufficiently aware of my own feelings that I don't automatically go off on one when events start building up. It's about being able to detach from the old thought processes and think 'oh look, I'm getting a bit het up here, that's interesting. I'm going to let these thoughts run through my head and not get annoyed with myself for getting stressy, but I'm not going to let it be the start of a spiral as I usually am. There, isn't that an interesting colour DS has painted the table?" It's a bit simplistic and I'm concerned I'll end up a detached zombie looking in on my own life, but I think that's the gist.

TrudyVotion · 29/05/2011 13:09

Sorry, screwed up the link. Is this better? Website.

So nice to do this list esp as its bringing in the bigger LOs.

Had a brilliant morning at a pool in a town near us called Monster (Que excited squealing from my boys). The pool is like your average centerparcs pool area slides those lazy river things & lots of pretend rock walls & cavy type places. I have to say most pools in NL has slides & lazy rivers but this one goes one step further with the rock stuff.

Our Indonesian takeaway lady gave us free tickets to a huge eurasian festival which is on here at the moment. It is basically an Asia food & culture festival & tickets are quite expensive so we are pretty pleased to be able to get in for free. We are just waiting for Ds2 to wake from his nap then we are off. DH & I have eaten lean today so we can pig out this afternoon.

Glad the meds have helped Effie, though shame about the grumpyness.

HRHvagolaJahooli · 29/05/2011 14:00

Thanks for that link Trudy. I think I'm good at thinking through my reactions but not at the time that I have them. I think I'm going to have a go.

HRHvagolaJahooli · 29/05/2011 14:43

WG we co-slept with DS2 & he natural moved himself to his own bed. Though the boys do often sleep together in one bunk. Sometimes he was in a cot with one side up & pushed next to our bed & other times he was just in with us.

spotofcheerfulness · 29/05/2011 22:34

That's a v interesting link Trudy thanks

That pool sounds ace, Vag. T would be terrified but I'd love it.

B is 5 months today, BEans. That is very sweet what you said about me, but sadly not all that true. I just know I've been such a bore about his problems from the get go that I try to rein it in a bit here, but I do sometimes get frustrated at his limitations.

WG forgot to say from a while back, but v pleased for your DH's news. I remember B kicking to BE while I was heavily preg in the bath as I was laughing so much.

By the way, those of you who had catnapping babies, can you remember when they started sleeping longer in the day? B does 4 sleeps of half an hour a day, either in the sling or in the cot, but won't do any longer. It's not too bad but would be great to be able to plonk him down and get in some quality time with T who is started to resent the screaming limpet as B has begun t be known. I remember walking T in the pushchair for ages to get him to sleep but not possible this time round.

adding madam to the list. although they do have my surname as a second middle name, but i'm not putting that on there. lovely to see you all. fiddly recipe was success, even without a lattice cutter (went to shop, asked for one and was given a knife designed for cutting lettuces - honestly!)

Our first weekend sans DD was lovely, we stayed in a tiny hotel with few other guests, so we spent all yesterday afternoon gossiping and giggling uninterrupted in the lounge area and then had an excellent meal last night. The organiser had reserved a private room for us, so more (Wine fuelled) gossip and giggles and then an excellent breakfast with yet more chat and the Sunday papers. Was perfect. DD had fun with the ILs, fortunately, but she fell over this afternoon and immediately wailed "want Grandma", I suspect my popularity will fall lower and lower over the next few weeks

DeidreBarlow · 30/05/2011 08:33

They don't have middle names as it took us long enough to decide on DD's first name, so trying to think of two was nigh on impossible! DS din't get one because DD didin't Grin

WG, we have had both DD and DS in our bed when they have been sleeping badly (although not both at the same time!). If it means you can get some sleep, go for it. Both of mine are well aware where their bed is so nowhere near as bad as you might think.

Rubes how is DS early wakings? DS still napless and has gone till about 6.15 - 6.30 past few mornings.

A lettuce knife!!! Giggled at them getting lattice & lettuce mixed up but why on earth is a separate knife required for a lettuce? Apart from cutting the stemy bit off I just tear them.

DB I love how you typed 24-11-06 then said DS was due December 08, a little alarming, but I'm sure Trudy would have worked out it was 08. When I took a four month old DS2 to AE one night with an ear ache (it was more a walk-in center than an A&E) I wrote his DON as 13/12/09. The nurse kindly explained that he would be terribly premature if that was his DOB.

Well I have a very quiet week this week so have decided to try out some TT with a bit more effort. So far I've realised I need to invest in one of those mops with the sprayed on the head, to save my back but otherwise I'm ok. He has his own two pairs of lightening McQueen undies but as he has wet one he has to go back into boring hand me down undies from his brother. He hasn't done a poo this morning so that's going to be the tester. Also I think I'm due a visit from Aunt flo, which could be a good or bad thing when holed up indoors waiting for poo & wee. We do need to venture out for a wall later as we need coffee & some bits. Might put a non disposable pull up on him.

Hi Spot. Please tell us how things are going, we can't help but a problem shared and all that.
