Morning all

Very early wake up call her R was sick in her sleep. Not sure why as she seems fine, hope its not the gastric thing I had. Also meant to say her bum has totally cleared since I went back to the asda nappies so R must be like L and sensative to pampers.

Poor L memphis my friends ds was and still is into everything so has done loads to himself, it was his arm when he was just walking the cast was tiny. He's just being a boy.

Will nip back later.

malibustac · 27/05/2011 06:51

Xpost mlic sorry you had a shit night. Hope you do get a nap.

WhatSheSaid · 27/05/2011 07:15

Sorry to hear about R being sick stac, hope it's just a one-off.

mlic even if you don't go to bed when W does, at least put your feet up and have a rest. I have had starts of 5am, 4.30am and 4am this week and I only survived because A was at pre-school and I could rest for a couple of hours.

viksam · 27/05/2011 07:20

mylife what a shit night, every time i hear off u guys with two i wonder how u do it and then i remember im gona be doing it soon Confused do u have anything planned today?
I have to wait in for a new fridge today as DH bust the freezer compartment on the old one(which im really glad about!!) I might work my ass off and get all the jobs done so i dont have to do anything over the weekend only spend time with D and DH!
Has anyone got anything nice planned for BH?

WhatSheSaid · 27/05/2011 07:30

vik I always wonder that about my friends who have 3 or 4 dcs! I have one friend who has had 4 in 5 years and literally has not had one full night's sleep in that entire time. I do not know how she is still sane Grin (they were all planned though)

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/05/2011 07:55

OMG there are so many posts, I should stop being so busy and come on here more often.

viksam Im really busy over the weekend, dress fitting, make up trial, seeing friends, seeing family.

memphis83 · 27/05/2011 08:24

mlic that sounds like a horror of a night!!!! hope you get to chill out for a bit at least.
cakes I did a curry lastnight, another vegetarian meal, I used pataks paste, and added cauliflour, brocolli, peas, carrots and onions, dh was eating and said there is no meat in this!! he was so shocked as it was so nice and tasty!!! we have only are meat once this week and I purposely didnt make an effort so it was dry so he would prefer oter meas Grin
dh wow you must be so excited, cant wait to see the dress!!
viksam we have nothing planned, we may go cinema monday and thats it!
L slept til 5.30, gave him dummy, woke at 6.30 gave him bottle then woke at 8! Im out tonight for a very very messy night with the lads, my friend is back from oz for the week, he is a doctor and is mad when we are out, a girl riped her knee open last time we went out and we were battered, he was saying im a doctor let me look with the clubs first aid box and she was saying fuck off you perv!!! tonight will be interesting!!

Chulita · 27/05/2011 08:35

cake I made that lentil pie yesterday without meat, I used celery instead of parsnip cos I can't stand the stuff. It went down quite well and we've got leftovers for today, DH just said it could do with either a bit thicker pastry or potatoes inside it but otherwise he really liked it.

mlic the last two nights S has fed around 3am and has then slept til nearly 7 so although I'm still shattered at least I'm not up before 6 like I have been the last few months.

We've finally bought a bike seat for L so we're going to take them both for a ride at some point over the BH. Your weekend sounds busy and fun dh :)

The boundary issue is finally resolved with the house we want to buy, we're just now haggling over the last few 1000s that we want to knock off the price. We don't want to pay more than the surveyor reckons it's worth obviously but they've made a counter off that's still higher so we're going to sit on it over the weekend and then make another lower offer. We have to get the roof done at a cost of 5k so I don't think it's unreasonable to knock that off the original offer price but they seem to disagree...

Chulita · 27/05/2011 08:36

memphis that is uber cheeky wrt to the meat meal! Grin

memphis83 · 27/05/2011 08:43

chulita he doesnt buy the food shop so doesnt realise how expensive meat has got, im just showing him the veggie way a few times a week, I did tell him the other week meals with meat in more or a nice pack up, I spend more on his pack up in a week than I do on our weekly shop!!

Chulita · 27/05/2011 08:48

Fair one!I meant cheeky in a good way, a very good idea though. My DH loves food shopping so he's well aware of how much meat costs. I did a lentil bolognaise a couple of weeks back and he really liked that, much as we like meat we don't have to have it.

Go to go, L is going crazy with me sat in front of a screen instead of acknowledging her witterings :)

CakeandRoses · 27/05/2011 09:05

Keep meaning to say memph I love you calling packed lunches 'pack-ups' is it a regional term?

And I very much approve of the 1 dry meat meal a week :D

mlic did you decide whether you're going back veggie and also about going back to work? < Ignored >
The paste is balti, lots of flavour but not too hot. I put in green beans, carrots, red and green peppers, potatoes and some new waitrose lentils that are a bit like puy which only take 15 mins to cook. Had it with rice, samosas, chapatis and poppdoms. Yum!

Your mornings sound much more civilised chul. Our nights have been quite bad but I feel an end is in sight. F stayed in his room til 7am this morning to to the lie-in machine. Yy, without the bulk/starch of the parsnip you'd need potato. I served it with roast potatoes so didn't put them in it too. Pleased it went down well tho :)

Not sure yet re the weekend vik My father was babysitting sat night but then realised football is on so wants to change to another one. Dh wants to book a london hotel overnight and take F and A to museum etc.

wss yeah I think that re people having more than 2. I guess it becomes your new norm quick quickly. Weirdly, my house is tidier and more organised since having A than when I just had F.

Off to playbarn with friends as usual today. Such a nice rest not having to do their dinner on fridays. Then a film and ice cream on the sofa before bed :)

cake the trade-off is that S is awake for an hour between 2 and 3am, not really an improvement.

Day 2 of tt, we had one wee in the potty yesterday (but I cheated and put her in a nappy while we were out), none in the potty so far so we'll see how we go. Cba really but hey ho, it's got to happen at some point. S is crying in bed instead of napping so we might just have to go out for a walk or something.

tsc busy beekend for you then! I bet Kate will love having her own space for her and her mates, how has her revising going? any better?
cakes it must be a regional thing as ive never questioned pack up being different Grin Im one of the few around here who say lunch, its dinner to most! but I went to a posh school in the next county so if I said dinner they didnt have a clue what i meant!!!
1 hour 15 mins until mil arrives to take L out, her way of trying to make an effort, it will be a one off and she will think she will redeem herself from that! sil said mil wont come to his party as she never went to her kids, but sounds like she is expecting to see him on his actual birthday as sil normally does a birthday buffet tea, not us, we are going to Birmingham to shop and to the sealife center!!! (obviously the shopping after is my cowbag way of making sure we are back late so she cant see him!!!!) but shhhh dont tel dh!!!

Trudyla · 27/05/2011 09:50

Morning

I forgot that it was a bh weekend in UK. Now it makes sense that our flight on Wednesday is ridiculously expensive.

I met a friend with her baby yesterday. Everyday she came close to M, M started screaming like crazy. She was very tired but this was very unusualy. The mother of the little girl said that other children react like that to her daughter. The little girl comes close, tries to touch M and then lifts her arms up in a dramatic way, so I wonder if M (and the other children) thinks she is a dragon or something. Anyway, afterwards she would not stop crying, so I am trying to forget about yesterday.

spirael You said a while back that you don't think you're a good mother to a baby. What on earth made you think that? You are doing such a wonderful job and have such a calm and well adjusted little girl. I think you are doing amazingly well, so don't put yourself down!

chulita Nice plans about the bike ride. Everybody is cycling over here but I'm still undecided whether we should get a bike seat as well. Sooo much stuff to clutter up the flat :-( Wish we had a house.

cake Wow, a museum with a 10 months old. You are ambitious. What kind of museum would F be interested in?

kkfairybrains · 27/05/2011 10:20

Oh mlic so how late are you? do you feel any different?
Exciting plans for the weekend here! Going to slane tomorrow which is a music festival and kings of leon are headlining!! can't wait! meeting up with a few people up there including 2 of my cousins with their wives and both have just announced they are pregnant! one with twins so can't wait to see them! Dp is bot impressed as they're not showing the match at it but he can watch it on his phone!

trudy that poor dragon girl! do you think it is the arm-thing that's scaring other children? and poor M Sad

stop prematurely ageing my baby, she's only 10 months today! tbh, both F and A are pretty easily entertained so we just drag them everywhere - we'll probably go to the Natural History or the Science museum, both of which have sections for children so most toddlers would probably be cool with them. And of course i'll they'll love the dinosaurs Smile

chul i reckon you have to go hardcore with no nappies except for sleeping. others do it differently and do use nappies at times but from what i've seen with my friends' DCs that deffo takes longer before they're reliably dry.

CakeandRoses · 27/05/2011 11:42

I reck you will be a parmotarian like I said before mlic I warn you I will sulk and thrust you out of my lonesome veggie's corner on your meat days tho :o

Are you looking for work at all?

Did you talk to your dh about money?

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 27/05/2011 11:45

Hope you have a definate answer one way or the other soon mlic!
E has started to go out to the hallways to do her poo's. She's doing it right now and has done the last 3 days! also the last 2 days she hasn't taken a daytime bottle. She takes little sups of water but not much out of the beaker so would it be bad to give her a bottle with water if she'l take it or do i stuck it out with the sippy cup in the hope she'll start to take more?

CakeandRoses · 27/05/2011 11:59

kk E sounds most mature Grin

personally, I'd keep trying with a cup as the advice is to transition from a bottle to a cup at 12m anyway so that's easier if they're already well used to it. 2 milk feeds is fine at this age and she'll drink more water as and when she's thirsty. F never had a bottle so glugged down tons of water from a cup from very young.

I think tsc said she still gives the bedtime milk in a bottle after 12m and i can see the sense in that but otherwise getting them used to a cup for daytime drinks can only make life easier in the long run, imo.

OP posts:
Chulita · 27/05/2011 12:21

I only put her in a nappy yesterday cos I really wanted to see my friend and thought that day 1 of tt wasn't the best day to go nappyless to a softplay type area. She's been nappy free all day so far today, kitchen floor 1 - potty 1 - tantrums for not getting raisins on demand 2. I've put her down for a nap in a bright bots but just remembered she almost always does a poo during her nap Confused oops! I was a bit nervous when she was running around the post office earlier and I stuck a towel in the buggy just in case.

kk if E's still doing lots of wet nappies I'd stick to trying her with a cup. L had a bottle til about 19ish months just before bed cos she wouldn't drink milk out of a cup for some odd reason. S hasn't had a bottle so if he goes off boob I'll just give him cups.

Chulita · 27/05/2011 12:22

I'm pretty sure I'm not pg now, haven't got af yet but dark brownish mucus so I reckon any day now. 8 months of freedom, I don't want it back yet! DH is on a promise so we'll just keep trying and see what happens Grin
