Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

eeek to camping with a baby! we keep thinking about it but i think our nearly 2yr old would be up all night playing with the zips. there's a kids farm nearby where you can camp in the field so i'm thinking something local would be good to try.
i gave B a weaning spoon to play with a couple of weeks ago in case i want to try some baby porridge soon. ds1 took ages to take food off a spoon properly so i keep pretending to feed baby to get him used to it. meanwhile blw-ed ds2 was scoffing noodles with his hand, fork held high in the other hand!

FlubbaBubba · 17/06/2011 22:08

We went camping with L when he was 4m old naturalbaby (also have a 2.5yr old and a 4yr old) - they loved it and were fab! We were all snuggled into one big pod spread across two double airmattresses and piled with blankets and rugs etc. Would def. recommend it :)

Right, off to bed to wait for his Lordship's calls Wink

FlubbaBubba · 18/06/2011 06:22

L slept from half seven to half three :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Fuzzywood · 18/06/2011 09:05

Evan slept from midnight until 6.45 Grin Grin

FlubbaBubba · 18/06/2011 09:09

:o

LadyBuzz · 18/06/2011 09:34

Oh well done Evan and L long may it continue

Ooooh just read that back

Kali is trying her very best to sit up now, she can just about manage in the pram as she is supported at the sides, I have tried her with creamy porridge and she wasn't interested, but DS2 gave her a lick of his mini magnum and she seemed a lot more impressed - she obviously takes after me Smile so I will definately be waiting another couple of weeks, DS1 was 12 weeks or so but he was a very different baby, DS2 went straight into BLW at about 25 weeks.

gallic In the birth to Five book it says they still need around 500-600 ml of milk a day. Of course this may well have changed!
Hope you had a good holiday.

gallicgirl · 18/06/2011 14:26

We had a fab holiday, thank you. Took DP to North Wales and for once he hadn't been there before. We had amazing weather and the place we stayed in was lovely. There was even a hot tub and sauna to be used and a lovely lady came and gave me a facial. Only downside was Alys waking up at 5 every morning as the sunlight streamed through the flimsy curtains.

Thanks for the info LadyBuzz. I'm going to make a concerted effort to give Alys lots of tummy time and try to get her sitting up so we can start weaning. I want to get it well established before I go back to work.

Did anyone get Olympic tickets? We live within walking distance of one of the venues and we're pretty pissed off that we didn't get any. I strongly suspect however that the in-laws did get tickets so they will be invading next year and we'll be stuck at home. :( We might apply for hockey tickets perhaps in the second round.

Oh, and I went to pick up DP father's day gift this morning. I took DD to a craft centre and we painted her hand and footprint onto a mug for daddy. It looks so sweet.

Envy to those lucky mummies getting a good long stretch of sleep! B is waking up 2am, 4am, having a good giggle at me then co-sleeping till 7am.

dh applied for loads of olympic tickets. they took loads of money a few weeks ago but he's not said anything so not sure yet.

we're going away end of july and i'm wondering about getting travel blackout blinds. we have them in our bedrooms and it seems to make a big difference, doesn't get our older boys to go to bed when they should though!

B is desperately trying to sit up all the time but we have a booster chair at the table suitable from 3months and he can only manage a few minutes before he's had enough, then he complains and shouts from his bouncy chair on the floor! i ordered a bumbo style seat so wonder if that will make any difference. ds1 used to sit up on the worktop next to me washing dishes so he could watch the world go by out the window.

Fuzzywood · 18/06/2011 22:39

Like your work LadyB with Evan and L Grin
Gallic where in N Wales were you? My brother lives in Llanberis, love it up there.

Are you still tube feeding for every feed JJKM? We half wake Evan between 10.30 and midnight to feed him, as it now seems to be working to make him sleep longer I'm going to keep doing it .

We got no Olympic tickets, boo! Very Envy of those who have, will probably try again later this week.

Ev is desperately trying to sit up too Natural, he lasts about 30 seconds gets excited then wobbles over, it's very sweet and is improving my reaction times in catching him Smile

gallicgirl · 18/06/2011 23:25

Alys threw up in the car park at Llanberis.

She threw up on lots of carparks Grin

We stayed at a farm a few miles north of Pwllheli. http://www.farmspa.co.uk/. I used to go on holioday around tehre as a kid so it was lovely to take my family there. :)

I don't have to wake Alys for a feed at night - I'm lucky if she goes to sleep at all between 7 and 10 o'clock feeds. We had a lovely little routine going but it seems to have flown out of the window. Will have to get it back on track next week.

Buggery Bollocks. Knew I shouldn't even have whispered it :(

Hey ho - the kiddies' rooms are looking fantastic. Now I need to work out how to keep them that way - I think I need Stepford children!

Gosh jjkm that must have been worrying for you - hope everything's okay.

:o LadyB Evan and L :o (he does live up to that name sometimes! especially at 1am this morning Grrrrrrrr). Warrior of the Lochs my arse! :o

Routines can really get messed up if you change it once or twice, which is why DH and I decided to stay in last night, instead of going out with L asleep in the pram, incase it jinxed his previous night's sleep. So glad we didn't Hmm Hmm :(

Fuzzywood · 19/06/2011 08:59

Seconds the buggery bollocks, projectile vomitting baby at 3.30 here. Poor little guy, seems ok now though.

JJKM that does sound scary, we all don't know how easy we have it Smile

It is just beautiful up there Gallic glad you had good weather, last time we were there we didn't even get a glimpse of the top of Snowdon the cloud was so low!

Glad you've got all the rooms sorted Bubba when we put DD into her junior bed for the first time she looked so tiny. Guess we'll be lowering cot sides soon once our little ones can sit up.

Right off to clean up more vomit, keep finding it, must have been more projectile than I first thought Hmm

FlubbaBubba · 19/06/2011 09:31

oh poor wee man, hope he's okay.

gallicgirl · 19/06/2011 12:13

It was the day it snowed on top of Snowdon Fuzzy. It was very weird as weather was quite good lower down.

Think Alys might be getting a cold. We had a poor night as she woke several times screaming with acid. Poor thing slept in bed with me all night.

Hope all the poorly babies feel better today.

naturalbaby · 20/06/2011 22:51

B is now like a coiled spring - put him down and he flips right over then gets stuck on one arm. He has bit of a bruised nose from when i desperately needed the loo and he chose that moment to get stuck - by the time i returned his whole lower body was up in the air somehow trying to flip himself back again!
I was very naughty and gave him a rice cake last night (he's 20weeks). ds2 started blw by eating one at 5 1/2months and B was sitting at the table with us so i passed it over and he went mad for it. straight in his mouth and very cross when he dropped it. evidence in the nappy this morning so he managed to swallow some of it!! there are a few teeny newborns at the toddler group we go to and i can't believe my baby is rapidly approaching 1/2 year old.

gallicgirl · 20/06/2011 22:58

Shocking how the time flies, isn't it?
My friend mentioned today, and I noticed at the weekend that DD looks more like a little girl than a baby IYSWIM. It's like the shape of her face has changed slightly or her hair grown or something has changed her appearance slightly.

Not starting BLW as not sitting up. I don't know if she's a bit lazy, not ready yet or if I don't give her opportunity to roll around and wriggle enough.

LadyBuzz · 21/06/2011 08:14

My Baby Girl

Very scary indeed Kali is 22 weeks today and is no longer where i left her if she on the floor she just rolls and rolls until she gets where she wants to be!

First night in her own room last night as the light mornings have been waking her at 5:30 and she was great AND slept until 6:30 so it worked!!

She was sat in DS2s highchair on Sunday and pulled herself into a sitting position with no support Shock now she just needs to steady herself at the sides - Where has my baby gone?

fuzzy hope Evan is ok now, and gallic that Alys doesn't get a cold.

FlubbaBubba · 21/06/2011 08:43

Oh my God LadyB she is simply gorgeous!!! You clever lady, you! :)

Hope Evan's okay fuzzy?

in a rush, will post more later

RunningKatie · 21/06/2011 16:23

Back from holibobs in Norfolk, so much to read back on, thankfully DD is asleep in her buggy so I can :)

RunningKatie · 21/06/2011 16:40

LadyB - she's beautiful, I love her hair. :)

Wowsers, you're all getting v organised with the weaning stuff, DD is 20 weeks on Saturday so I'm hoping to start weaning the first weekend in August. I can't wait! I need to get organised with a highchair and things don't I?

How's Evan Fuzzy?

JJKM - the girls sound like they are doing well weight wise, how's Bridget after the feeding tube scare?

DP is away this week, so I've taken DD to the hospital to be checked over today, her BP is still raised and we're off to see the cardiologist next fri - however the Dr said that the BP has come down a bit, and with luck it'll be something she grows out of. She had to have bloods taken and she was so brave, I was a jibbering wreck of course Blush

ooooooh, and I bought a wedding dress before we went away, it was rather mortifying standing in the shop with my wibbly mummy tummy but I have 19 weeks to knock myself into a shape that isn't jelly-like.

travispickles · 21/06/2011 19:34

Hi all! Well don't want to speak too soon but... Saskia is asleep at 7pm!! So that is excellent news and I am sat here eating icecream enjoying the peace. I find I am sooo tired in the evenings, also getting weird palpitations when I rest. Is that normal? Ladybuzz - what a gorgeous picture of Kali, she is beautiful! Where does that gorgeous hair colour come from - your or DP or not sure? It is very striking.
God luck with hospital Running, the cardiologist - am sure it will be fine but you know where we are.
Will put a pic of Saskia on in a bit to show another one shooting up.

LadyBuzz · 21/06/2011 19:58

Awww thanks we think she is pretty fab!
travis both my grandad and DHs were red and DS1 is red too. i'm blonde and DH is dark so we were quite surprised when DS1 arrived.
hope Saskia stays asleep for you.

running good luck at the hospital. your wedding will be here before you know it - how exciting!

FlubbaBubba · 21/06/2011 20:03

Noooooooooo travis don't jinx it!! Shock Have you not learned from mine and fuzzy's mistakes of premature smugness?!

Welcome back running - hope hospital appt goes well, and v. envious of you getting married, I want to do it all over again! (possibly even with the same man, though not sure! Wink)

Got some of DD1's school uniform today - going to post a pic up. Sooooooo sweet and looking sooooo grown up (to us!) :) / :(
