Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

I know what you mean about routine fuzzy.

A week away and a cold have totally screwed our routine. It's a nightmare getting Alys to go for 2 naps a day at appropriate times (she likes to nap at lunchtime and teatime) and she's been sharing our bed far too many nights.

fuzzy I'm being thick - how do you find 'classic' threads on here?

Fuzzywood · 03/11/2011 22:20

Bubba link for you
very amusing

To find it go to topics, Mumsnet Stuff then Mumsnet Classics. Don't read them when the kids are in bed, I laughed so hard last night I had to hide in the toilet until I retained my dignity Grin

Flubba · 04/11/2011 07:49

Genius ~ thank you. And I agree, the naked woman shouting hob nobs made me laugh so much :o :o

Fuzzywood · 04/11/2011 13:27

If you haven't done so already read the British Gas one, I was literally in tears Grin
Wish this rain would go away, the kids are driving me crazy! Already been out in it once and got soaked without wearing them out. Off to a friends soon though so they can cause chaos around there instead!

gallicgirl · 04/11/2011 13:59

Pom bear, pom bear, pom bear Biscuit

The one about the food processor attachments was pretty funny if it got saved.

DD has forgotten how to sleep and is driving me nuts! I was up for ages in the night with her then had to fight to get her to have a half hour nap. I don't know where she gets her energy from because she's eating feck all.

Flubba · 04/11/2011 14:43

Oh gallic sounds tough. The Boy has pretty much stopped sleeping during the day - has a 15 minute nap on the way to school first thing in the morning, then again at midday and that's it! I'm cream crackered.

Four?! Oh my, yes I should think that would make her miserable! Did you get hold of teething powders, by the way?

Well we've been for a walk to the shops and DD fell asleep on the way back so is now nicely snoozing in her cot. I have a cup of tea and a jam doughnut waiting so I feel a lot better too. :)

I'm hoping this is just a phase while her little brain gets to grips with all the new things she's learning.

RunningKatie · 04/11/2011 21:00

Four teeth? Wow, jjkm, that's impressive. DD still is a toothless wonder!

We don't seem to have a routine, but she has gone to sleep tonight on formula tonight, not being fed by me. Wuhoo! Grin

If I don't check in again before the wedding I will see you all in the fortnight, and will post a pic or two up - unless any of you are on FB and want to stalk me to see the pics earlier! Wink

Hey Running enjoy tomorrow - have a fab day! :) And I was about to give the same advice as Fuzzy and take some time for yourselves in the day. :) :) (I'm not on FB, so am expecting a few pics on here when you're back from your honeymoon please :))

L has the full 8 teeth already, so hope we're in for a bit of a breatk now for a while.

Fuzzy playtime at friend's sounds fun Hmm! Did the girl's mother not step in?

Fuzzywood · 05/11/2011 07:49

Well she kind of stepped in...if you count offering chocolate biscuits stepping in Hmm. I'm not claiming DD is an angel but this was just a nightmare. Admittedly there is a bit of a back story with lots of moving around involved which would unsettle anyone let alone a 3 year old but still. Anyway, normally when we meet up there are more than just 2 of us so they'll be safety in numbers next time Smile
DD is funny today, she was terrified of the fireworks last year but really wants to go to the village display tonight (I suspect mostly because it means she can stay up late) so she's flitting between really excited and very apprehensive. Lots of questions about how loud they'll be. I keep reassuring her it'll be quieter than when her and her friends are running around screaming Smile
Is everyone else doing fireworks?

Flubba · 05/11/2011 08:32

Shock at the 'stepping in'

We're off to an impromptu fireworks at my sister's house (they have a huuuuuuuge garden) tonight, then a big school-hosted one next week. DD2 has not just turned three (which would cost us an extra £4). Hmm

Fuzzywood · 05/11/2011 08:44

You need to get her trained like my DD. When asked how old she is she'll tell you 3, but 2 at Legoland Grin. Works really well unless someone at Legoland asks her Grin

Flubba · 05/11/2011 09:30

:o Am trying that, but DDs both keeps saying "but I'm/she's 3!! We had a big party!" blinkin' annoying honesty - didn't get it from me

gallicgirl · 05/11/2011 12:06

Hahaha I remember my dad trying that on the trains and trying to ignore me whining "but daddy I'm 5, can't you count?"

We're not doing fireworks but we live opposite the Thames so we get a great view of fireworks over to Kent. Just hope DD gets to sleep ok. I went out last night and she wouldn't sleep for DP. She spent an hour playing in the living room and I see evidence of chip consumption. DP should learn to tidy up after his crimes! Actually he should just learn to tidy up - it only takes a minute.

ooops - brief pause while I take ibuprofin off the baby! (she's playing with my handbag Blush )

Flubba · 05/11/2011 15:46

My elder sister always used to do it with me when I was 6 or 7; my mum would give her bus money to take me into town with her, and she would pocket it and tell me to tell the bus driver I was 4 Hmm :o

Isn't that...you know...exercise???

Only exercise allowed is 5m dash, baby wrestling and baby luggage weight-lifting.

Flubba · 10/11/2011 06:42

no

not exercise

lying down and having a quick kip while the teacher's not looking

:o

Trying to 'knit' my stomach muscles back together! :o Blush :o

LadyBuzz · 10/11/2011 09:52

ooooh flubba Grin Grin

After my initial enthusiasm I have given up Grin

DD took her first lone step last night Shock just a tentative one but she did it three times so will probably be galloping around with the boys in a couple of weeks - I don't think i'm ready for this Grin
