Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Is that just the 7 month check done some point between 7 and 9 months?

I think we're done until 2 now apart from vaccination. Confused

Natural, I so want to do a cheesy Christmas outfit too. DD has such chubby cheeks, she's destined to be a Christmas pudding I think. Grin

I feel everyone's pain at the bumps and knocks as our little ones get moving. DD has really come on this week. She can now stand confidently holding onto something, cruises around the furniture and can get anywhere she wants to (ie, everywhere) by using a rather effective mix of bum shuffle and bunny hop. She's just learning to wave hello and high five but we need to work on those.

I saw some waterproofs for toddlers recently and I've forgotten where :(
Try M&Co, John Lewis or Debenhams.

Ladybuzz is K eating ok? Or maybe she's teething?

Fuzzywood · 18/10/2011 03:36

Sorry! If it helps we go home tomorrow so DH in a really foul mood. I still have a little rum punch though Grin Natural you have to do Barbados it's fab.
Evan is just crawling and pulling himself up, all very scary on a tiled floor!

gallicgirl · 18/10/2011 10:28

Don't worry, we have laminate everywhere and I've lost count of the number of times DD has fallen over backwards and bumped her head. She seems ok.

She made it out of the living room and into the hallway yesterday. Slightly worried about the bare floorboards with nails poking up out there. Might have to get a safety gate. :(

LadyBuzz · 18/10/2011 11:14

gallic thats the one yes, they do it up here between 8 months and 1 year.
flubba I think they send for you??? but i'm not 100%, my friends DD had hers last week and she is 10 weeks older then K.

She seems to be eating fine, she has a mixture of mushed up spoon fed stuff and is finally getting to grips with the finger food too.

I know both DSs lost weight when they started to move about more but they were older and much much bigger then DD.
I'm not worried really she is healthy and fairly stocky just very very small, but I am little too. I'm just expecting an ear bashing off the HV.

9 months old today Grin how did that happen!

gallicgirl · 18/10/2011 11:35

My HV contacted me to arrange the check at 7 months. I suppose it might be better to do it a bit later but they seem to have a chart of expected parameters so I guess they can fit the right skills into the right age bracket. For example, DD managed a pincer grip and at 7 months only 10% of babies can do this but I guess as they get older more babies can do it, so if your baby can't do something then they're more likely to spot a potential problem rather than a skill that hasn't yet developed IYSWIM.

9 months is just scary. DD looks more and more like a little girl rather than a baby as each day passes.

Flubba · 18/10/2011 13:45

you'd think that, being my third, I'd know what I'm supposed to be doing and when! Sadly very much not the case :o Blush :o

naturalbaby · 19/10/2011 14:15

B has his hv check up in a couple of week. i got him some knee pads off ebay the other day for our hard carpet and laminate. he seems to have toughened up already and just gets up and carries on after falling and bumping his head.

have found some hippychick waterprood dungarees on amazon. everything else is £40 and he's got lots of warm tops so i don't think i need a full suit. saw a good one on the next website for £20 i think so might go instore and see if it looks good. we had an M&co snowsuit for newborn that was a funny fit and no stores nearby with baby sections. we have a big discount outdoors warehouse nearby but they only had £40 suits.

am thinking he can be a christmas elf this year!

Fuzzywood · 19/10/2011 19:45

Hey, back in the UK so cold and jet lagged.
Peter Storm do all in one waterproofs not lined so fleeces needed underneath, think they're about £12. Millets have them.

Flubba · 23/10/2011 20:47

quick bookmark as you'd fallen off my list

hope all well and happy? :)

RunningKatie · 27/10/2011 09:55

Helloooooooo - anyone around? I've not checked in for what seems like ages!

DD has yet another cold, she's burning up at night but seems happier today, I can at least sit on the sofa whilst she plays which was an impossibility yesterday.

DP has had bad news (yet again) on the job front, looks like his job will be redundant at Christmas, so he's frantically applying for new jobs. Thankfully I'd not resigned so the option of me going back to work in January is still there dammit.

We've not had the 8 month check though, I'm expecting it to come through whilst we're away on our honeymoon!

Flubba · 30/10/2011 10:55

Sorry, been awol sewing madly for Christmas craft fair and getting addicted to pinterest looking after my Loved Ones Wink Blush - check my arty farty pics on my profile - shamelessly nicked the idea.

Wow, a year already!! :) Happy Birthday jjkm's LOs.

Oooh running your wedding day is looming!! :) :) Make sure you post some pics!! :) Sorry about your DH's job, that's crap.

ILs still here but staying at a travellodge nearby, but turned up at 8:10 this morning!! Shock WTF?! Hmm

Fuzzywood · 30/10/2011 20:55

Oh wow, 1 already, happy happy birthday girls.
What date is the wedding Running? sorry to hear about DP's job, hope he finds something soon.
The IL sound like fun Bubba Grin

RunningKatie · 31/10/2011 20:13

Happy birthday to the girls jjkm :)

Wedding is on Sunday The weather forecast is looking reasonable so that's great. My Dad and his wife have pulled out, so it's a bit sad but also a relief as she's such a cowbag challenge that she'd have caused tension on the day. I'm alternating between being excited and fretting that I look massive in my dress as I'm still BF'ing, plus wondering whether DD will go more than 2 hours without requiring the removal of said dress so she can be fed. I didn't think when I bought the dress that we'd be in this situation!

8.10? 8.10? Flubba What the chuff were they thinking?

Fuzzywood · 31/10/2011 20:50

Ooo Running that's exciting. You'll look wonderful, I have no doubt. Sorry about your dad, but if it means things won't be tense that's got to be a good thing.
Have had fun here dressing up the kids for Halloween, got 3 wears out of the costumes too. DD was a witch and Ev a skeleton, the absolute cutest skeleton Grin

Flubba · 01/11/2011 10:51

Sooo exciting!! I want to get married all over again!! :)

LadyBuzz · 02/11/2011 14:06

running all the best for Sunday I hope you both have a fantastic day.

I have no children today Grin DS1 at school, DS2 wanted to 'help' Granda in the garden and my niece has pinched DD to take her into town for a couple of hours - Oh the bliss of a quiet house.

We have SIL living with us at the moment aswell and she is at work, I think i've gone deaf Grin

DS2 is 3 tomorrow so i should be sorting party bags out not sat here MN'ing!

bubba 8:10 seriously???

Fuzzywood · 02/11/2011 14:26

Put your feet up for a while LadyB. Happy birthday to your DS. Have a look at a thread currently running in Classics about things you've read on here that are still making you laugh years later. Loads of links to some hysterical threads.
Went to Jo Jingles today and Ev spent pretty much the entire time crawling over to Jo and trying to eat him and if that didn't work he tried to eat kiss the other babies who are all younger than him so can't get away Grin

Flubba · 02/11/2011 18:06

I'm glad others are Shock and Hmm at 8:10. My idiot of a DH didn't bat an eyelid. I was upstairs in my underwear having just got out of the shower, the rest of the family were still in PJs. I was Not Amused but DH's response made me think I was being odd!! :o :o

Oooh, very, very Envy of your nobody-in-the-house situation LadyB - I reckon I might have that again in about four years' time! I think I may be shouting "just let me wee in peace!!" a few more times before then :o

Fuzzy Lachlan eats and gouges kisses other babies all the time. It's awful! I spend my whole time dragging him away from crying children and apologising Blush

(talking of which - apologies for over-use of !!!!s, but can't be arsed to delete them now :o)

Flubba · 02/11/2011 18:07

That should read Fuzzy - Lachlan... (not fuzzy Lachlan, although his hair is a bit tufty :))

gallicgirl · 02/11/2011 23:54

Hello everyone.

Hope you're all well, even fuzzy who has no right to post from the Bahamas or wherever it was! very [jealous]

Running I hope you have a lovely wedding and all goes well. I'm sure you'll look fabulous.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one suffering from an newly-active baby! It's a bit of a shock in a way. We went to stay with the PILs last week and they have carpet which was brilliant to get up a bit of speed in the crawling stakes. Alys also had plenty of practice at climbing up legs. We left her with the grandparents one afternoon while DP and I went house hunting to visit friends. It was a bit weird but all went well. She was so pleased to see me when I got back though and I even had to take her to the loo with me. It's kind of difficult to concentrate on the task in hand when a little face is grinning at you over your knees.

If anyone wants a cute Christmas outfit then Sainsburys have 25% off clothing until Monday. We got Alys an elf outfit, complete with stripey hat which she will hate.

Do I need to point out that the outfits are for children, not you?

Oh jjkm that sounds tough. What do the "professionals" suggest? Or is it just a case of more physio and practice etc and a whole lot of patience?

Fuzzywood · 03/11/2011 10:42

if it makes it any better going away completely ruined any semblance of routine we had and he's now a nightmare to get down for a nap. Needs to be cuddled to sleep and he's heavy! I don't mind really though as I'm sure it won't be long until I'm complaining he doesn't like to be cuddled anymore.

I like the idea of a fuzzy Lachlan! Evan is a bit more fluffy than fuzzy.

Oh his majesty is awake, will be back later Smile
