Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Hiya, - great weekend here too visiting friends who've [sob] moved to Wales. Gorgeous house, huge and beautiful and five minutes' walk from the beach. >>wonders why she lives in a cramped little box in London

Fuzzywood · 13/09/2011 08:20

Thanks Bubba, in all honesty there's no way I can do the job I was doing in 3 days so unless there's a slightly different role I'm screwed. Just hoping he can find me something else.
Whereabouts in Wales have your friends gone? I'm Welsh, brought up by the dad, don't realise how lucky you are until you move away.
Bless your DH, hope your DD has a good day.
Hows it all going JJKM? Still don't know how you do it with 2 Grin.
I got cuddles with a 2 week old yesterday, so sweet, they grow up so so fast.

Fuzzywood · 13/09/2011 08:22

That was supposed to say brought up by the sea, don't know what happened there Hmm

FlubbaBubba · 13/09/2011 11:02

lol, was wondering why you called him The Dad :o :o

Friends live in Penarth. Whereabouts did you grow up?

Fuzzywood · 13/09/2011 12:15

My home town is Barry (mum and the dad Grin still there). My mum used to teach in Penarth, small world.
As suspected it's a no to 3 days a week so I'll be doing 4 days a week from Jan. This is presuming nursery have space for DD on an extra day. Oh well think I'll go back with an open mind and see how it goes.

gallicgirl · 13/09/2011 12:26

Crikey. We spent our holiday in Penarth! Small world indeed.

Would your boss consider job share if you can find someone to share with, fuzzy?

It's not nice making plans to leave baby, is it?

Got some of my tunes played but Neil was out of luck. Alys loved the disco lights.

FlubbaBubba · 13/09/2011 12:56

Ha! Weird! Only the 2nd time in my adult life I've ever been to Wales! Nice place

gallicgirl · 13/09/2011 14:28

Really? Spent a lot of holidays in Wales and love it. Prefer north Wales but enjoy the south too.

FlubbaBubba · 13/09/2011 16:10

We've got family in Scotland so whenever we've stayed UK, that's where we've headed. Last time I went through Wales (en route to Ireland), my DH and I got escorted back into England by the welsh border people on the Severn Bridge!!!! Shock Confused Shock

Fuzzywood · 14/09/2011 19:41

Well we've had an interesting time! Long story short, at half midnight last night i was in the back of an ambulance with DD off to hospital as she'd had a seizure due to a high temp. Looks like a bacterial ear infection was the cause. Stayed in last night but discharged at lunchtime. DD much on the mend, being cheeky so clearly better! It was the most horrible experience though to see your child go through that. Without wanting to give medical advice I will say if any of your little ones have temps make sure you get on it quickly with Calpol and Ibruprofen (doc said to us today to not wait and see).
Anyway we're all knackered so pizza in the oven and an early night here.
Let's hope tomorrow is less eventful.

Oh God fuzzy :( poor you and poor DD :( What was her temperature? Lucky you saw the seizure!

jjkm hats off to you and your DH coping with your girls. Twins on their own is hard enough, let alone having to go through extra care for them that you need to do.

Ooh my arms are aching - been swimming for the first time in ages, and spend most of the day holding up Lachlan, who thinks pulling himself up to standing and then standing holding on to me with one arm while laughing to himself is The Best Thing Ever. Also charging to and from school runs with arms stretched out holding onto the buggy with a buggy board (for when DD2 is dawdling). All of this = achy, achy arms! I'm such a wimp! :o

Fuzzywood · 14/09/2011 21:25

Feeling rather shakey about it now, stupid I know as it's all over with and has done her no harm. I had a fleeting thought at one point when she was fitting that we were going to lose her Sad

Fuzzywood · 14/09/2011 21:29

Her temp was 41 Bubba, apparently anything 40 and above carries the risk of seizures for little ones. Not that you know she was I'll now, always amazes me how quick kids bounce back.
You'll be needing a straw for your Wine then bubba if yoir arms dont work Grin

FlubbaBubba · 14/09/2011 21:56

Oh poor, poor you. Can't imagine how scary that must have been.

I understand the shaky-even-though-it's-over-and-fine-feeling. DD1 once, aged about 15 months, ran off down a drive towards an extremely busy road, and DH and I only just noticed that she'd gone, and when DH ran after her shouting for her to stop (I was 8m pg at the time), she thought it was a game and carried on running, and DH only just got to her in time to scoop her up in his arms before she ran straight into the pathway of stupidly fast vehicles. It still fills me with fear and makes me teary, and it was about 3 years ago. I know it's different to your situation (because it was our fault :() but I understand your feelings.

Yes please to a straw for my Wine. Or preferably four or five straws, cos then it gets in quicker. :o

RunningKatie · 14/09/2011 22:08

Oh Fuzzy that must have been so scary, hope that your DD is getting better now.

I'm starting to get a bit nervous about my hen do, I realise this is a bit ridiculous. I'm still breastfeeding DD to sleep more often than not, and in 4.5 weeks I'm going out at 4.30pm and will roll in sozzled at an undefined time. She will sip at formula, I was really hoping that by now we'd have started to drop some feeds so DP would be able to feed and settle her to sleep.

Must go to bed, little monkey was up at 1am and 5am last night, she's going into her own room this weekend.

FlubbaBubba · 15/09/2011 10:03

Welcome to my world running :( Lachlan is frequently awake for two feeds a night (and gets a 'dream' feed from me (still won't take a bottle) at 10pm). Really don't know where I've gone wrong with this one :( Hmm

RunningKatie · 15/09/2011 16:32

Is that we've not gone wrong but we're doing it so right?! Hmm

Today I have put her in some 6 to 9 month clothes, not trousers as they are still a good few inches too long for her but a skirt which looks fine albeit a little long.

I have acquired another buggy courtesy of fleabay, it's an all-terrain 3 wheeler which apparently I can run with. DP reckons enough is enough now, then I told him if we do have DC2 next year we'll need a double buggy! Grin

FlubbaBubba · 15/09/2011 20:06

Haha, yes, that's a good way of looking at it running :)

LadyBuzz · 16/09/2011 14:40

running pah you can NEVER have enough buggies Grin

fuzzy poor DD glad she has bounced back now, DS1 stopped breathing at 10 days old I still haven't forgotten the fear and panic and that was 5 years ago. I would always prefer to be ill then see my DCs ill.

Kali has been busy this week she is crawling properly, pulling herself up and she has her first tooth Grin clever girl!

We are off to Worcester tomorrow to see my 2 nieces, its the little ones naming day so i am really looking forward to it. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Fuzzywood · 16/09/2011 23:27

Thanks all DD is now being a little madam completely cured and we're returning to normal. She's somewhat unimpressed with me sticking a thermometer in her ear at the slightest hint of her being warm, but she's going to have to put up with it for the next 15 years now after scaring me like that.
What a clever girl you have there LadyB. Ev has progressed to being in crawling position but then rocks back and for a few times then face plants. Still no teeth but lots and lots of gnawing so it may be soon. He does seem to have nearly mastered waving though, very cute.
Having a relaxing weekend at my parents so the kids are getting spoilt rotten!

FlubbaBubba · 18/09/2011 08:43

L is now at the really difficult stage for nappy changing, wriggling, squirming and shouting as soon as I've taken the nappy off, and I end up dangling him by his ankles as he twists away so he doesn't kick his feet in poo and kick poo everywhere! Hmm
He's also so good at pulling himself up (and climbing up steps Shock) that he decides to show off this skill in the middle of the night in his cot, but hasn't quite worked out how to get back down again Confused so shouts so we can go and applaud.

Good job I love him so much :)

RunningKatie · 19/09/2011 17:05

That sounds like hard work Bubba! :)

DD has definitely learnt to bumshuffle, thankfully she hasn't realised this herself so whilst she's moving about it's not planned so there's no mischief making yet.

Wedding dress fitting tomorrow, my mum suggested we go for a snack beforehand Hmm

Fuzzywood · 19/09/2011 18:22

We have a nappy change wriggler here too. Getting dressed and undressed is also a battle! Had a good time with my parents but for some reason DD didn't sleep well there so I'm knackered. Hoping to get a better sleep tonight.
Think we might have the first tooth by morning, you can see it through the gum but it's not quite out yet.
Hope the fitting goes well tomorrow Running, maybe suggest a snack afterwards Smile

FlubbaBubba · 19/09/2011 21:29

It's blinking hard - and if I could get through life with all of my kids being naked, it would save us all a lot of heartache and stress and SO much time!! :o

Ooh, very excited for you and your dress fitting running - I want to get married all over again :) :)

Fuzzy hope the tooth pops through easily and you have a decent night's sleep.
