Hello ladies, hope you found your way over here okay!

Our little newborns are newborns no more! :( :)

Hopefully a while yet before teething and weaning starts, but there's definitely a lot of wiggling and squealing going on already :o

Can you please send L over to teach A how to stick up for herself?
Our friends' 18 month old son walked all over her while we were on holiday and she sat there and took it (while screaming for her mom). Little monkey swiped her around the head with a plastic building block and pulled her hair. She needs to toughen up.

FlubbaBubba · 05/09/2011 20:24

Awww - poor thing! :(

Fuzzywood · 05/09/2011 20:52

Thanks, I think he's pretty damn gorgeous Grin He does love swinging. I now have a great mental image of Gallic and Mr Gallic playing catch with a baby Smile.
I'll send Ev around as well if you like to stick up for her Gallic, went round a friends today and he made her 3 year old DD and 1 year old DS cry by pulling their hair then whacking the 1 year old over the head with a wooden brick Blush. He did then get sat on though so alls fair I guess! At least he's still pretty static at the moment so you can run away from him (as you long as you don't mind leaving a few hairs behind)!

LadyBuzz · 06/09/2011 11:44

Naughty babies Grin

Kali definately rules the roost in our house, she is also a hair puller DS1 is lucky as his is too short to get a hold of but poor DS2 has long curly hair which she just loves to grab.

I have noticed she seems to show more interest in toys then the boys ever did - although her favourite things are wires phone/laptop/speakers/baby monitor etc etc Hmm strange child.

gallicgirl · 06/09/2011 12:08

No she's not - A loves the tv remote. I even put out a call on facebook for an old one to stop her chewing ours. Power cables are also fun and she's mesmerised by mobile phones.

She can't make out the landline phone though. MIL called the other week and we put her on speaker to talk to Alys. A grabbed the phone, chewed it a bit and cut off nana.

Grin

Didn't teach her that. Honest.

Fuzzywood · 06/09/2011 14:00

Could be a useful trick that Gallic Grin

Ev has just learnt to play peekaboo today, it's soooooo adorable he's really pleased with himself as well.

On a not so positive note he does appear to be giving up sleeping in the afternoon which means he's a complete grump by about 5pm. Trying to ignore him for a couple of minutes now to see if he drops off. He's currently gnawing on his cot. Can't complain really though as he sleeps at night. Though I haven't had lunch yet and I'm starving!

gallicgirl · 06/09/2011 15:04

Poor you - we had chicken curry. I'll try to remember how to upload a photo so you can see the mess.

FlubbaBubba · 06/09/2011 17:32

Shhhhhhhh fuzzy about night time sleeps Envy but YAY for peekaboo. I love it when they get that (remind me after a few weeks of it when L learns to do it too) :)

Ooh yes gallic to a pic of Alys and chicken curry :) (just typed "fallic" instead of gallic. Laughed to myself anyway! :o )

Blinkin' knackered and unamused by sleep and feed and everyone's advice [grumpy mum emoticon]

DD1 had her meeting with her teacher today - starts next Tues in reception! :)

FlubbaBubba · 06/09/2011 18:06

Added a couple of pics from my hols and one of DD2 eating chile con carne aged 8m, inspired by what I imagine Alys might look like with chicken curry only a lot messier :o

Fuzzywood · 06/09/2011 21:13

Great photos both. Alys' hair is gorgeous Gallic. loving the smile on DD2's face Bubba so proud of herself.

How could I forget about the sleeping curse?!?! .

What's her teacher like Bubba? is she looking forward to it? Can't believe DD starts next year. She's an August baby so will be so little. She however, can't wait as loads of kids from her nursery start school this week.

I take it L is still not playing ball at night then? Racking my brains to think if something to help but sounds like you've probably heard it all. Really hope it gets better soon.

RunningKatie · 06/09/2011 21:30

Ooh, lovely pics, I've uploaded one of DD in her dress, she has 2 months to grow into it! I love that bib Bubba :) and that hair Gallic!

Wedding is Nov 6th, so excited, or I would be if I hadn't given up cake because I'm a bit grrrrr about it especially as DP is eating a cupcake in front of me. Hmm

I think DD is finally dropping a bit of bf during the day, although she still wakes up around 5am for a feed.

gallicgirl · 07/09/2011 12:49

Fabulous photos but oh, aren't our babies growing? sniff

Flubba - I can quite honestly say your DS was much messier that Alys but he looked like he really enjoyed his food.

Fuzzy notice you live just north of me. Should try a meet-up at some point when we're feeling organised maybe. < laughs at prospect of ever being organised >

Just waiting for the HV to arrive to do alys's 7 month check. I should probably give her some milk before she comes so she's not screaming the place down.

FlubbaBubba · 07/09/2011 17:28

Sweet pics of your babies you lot, and yes, second your sniff there gallic - L can also pull himself to standing now too. Far too grown up for my liking (and a very good friend of mine had a baby girl yesterday, sending me all broody again:) )

Whereabouts do you live gallic?

Very exciting about your wedding running - that's only six weeks away! Shock.

FlubbaBubba · 07/09/2011 17:29

Ahem. Apologies about my awful maths. Two months away. Blush

gallicgirl · 07/09/2011 23:41

I'm going to my cousin's wedding at the weekend. The DJ has a website where you can request songs but you're limited to 3 tracks.

I might have made up some names in order to get more requests.

I might be getting a bollocking off my cousin.

On the plus side, if you've ever wanted to meet Elvis and Neil Diamond, I know where they'll be on Saturday.

FlubbaBubba · 08/09/2011 07:55

:o brilliant :o

Fuzzywood · 08/09/2011 20:01

Ha ha, good work Gallic, got to be done to make sure you can have a good boogy!
Whereabouts are you Gallic? I'd be up for a meet up, anyone else?
Running, that dress is so cute on her, bless Smile

FlubbaBubba · 08/09/2011 20:53

I'd be up for a meet if I can fit it around DD's school half-day etc :)

gallicgirl · 08/09/2011 20:56

I'm south Essex. Think Europe's longest pleasure pier.

Hahaha cryptic clues to guess locations.

RunningKatie · 08/09/2011 21:44

Gallic, that just made me snort my tea! :)

DP appears to be trying to put Isobel down to sleep without Mummy feeding her to sleep. Interesting..... When she wakes up in the night I usually feed her and elbow stroke his face to get him to put her back in her cot. Obviously at some point last night he thought I did that, so got up and came to fetch her, I got a full pat down until he realised that my giggling meant she wasn't there but was fast asleep and snoring away in her cot. Grin

FlubbaBubba · 08/09/2011 21:59

running I sympathise with your DH - the other night I fed L at some ungodly hour, and then woke my DH going "he's gone! where's he gone? have I dropped him?" searched on the floor next to our bed, under our bedcovers, all in a groggy stupor of a few seconds. I'd actually fed him, taken him back to his room and gone back to bed, but couldn't remember putting him back down Blush Hmm :o

gallicgirl · 12/09/2011 12:15

Did we all have a good weekend?

I went to my cousin's wedding and it was fabulous. Alys was very well behaved and charmed everyone she met. Admittedly they didn't see her screaming the place off it's foundations later in the night. Poor mite was a bit tired.

Just e-mailed a nursey about reserving a place for when i go back to work - eeeek.

naturalbaby · 12/09/2011 21:00

am glad to see othere babies are still having night feeds. I'm trying to cut them down but then B just spends all night shuffling and snuffling round the cot, and it squeaks, and he's still in our room. I am sooo exhausted, he slept through a few nights when we started weaning but now he's waking up twice a night. how does anyone else cope with older kids?!

apart from that he's proper super cute crawling - on knees and hands rather than just dragging himself across the floor. he gets really excited, his arms do a few moves but then he goes too fast and face plants. must get the video camera out!

think this is our first year without a wedding to go to. there was a family one in poland last week but paying for 4 bums on seats on the plane alone was waaay to expensive Sad

Fuzzywood · 12/09/2011 22:06

Hey, pretty good weekend here thanks apart from the cold we all seem to have caught (Snufflebabe is my friend).
Did you get your tunes played Gallic?
Poor you Natural, is it worth trying putting B into a different room? Realise this is a hugely personal thing but I found I got considerably more sleep when not waking by every little sound.
I'm into work tomorrow to talk to my boss about what I can do work wise when I go back. I want to go from 4 to 3 days, by the sucking of teeth noise when I spoke to him about it on the phone I don't fancy my chances . I'm taking Evan though so maybe the distraction of having him there will bring him around to my way of thinking .
