Eek it's going so fast!

Well my night out has been cancelled so it's not an urgent rush round the shops but we are going to have z look for some summery clothes anyway.

Seems like I have missed out on some scandal by never having seen Bob the Builder Grin
Congrats Sea the job sounds ideal.
Mock yes we are constantly being pinched and she is also trying out her new teeth so all in all it is quite painful trying to have a cuddle with dd at the minute. My 6yo nephew asked if dd could sit on his knee two minutes later he was crying 'take her off she hurts'.
Glad that DH took the news well Xav
DD has also been weighed this week, 18lb6oz, they are all getting so big aren't they?
I got the stuff to make those falafels Mock so I will add a little more chilli then and see if that helps. Also, DD is nowhere near sleeping through either am sure your parents will be fine- though it is horrible leaving them that first time.
I've been to work for a meeting today and it all made it feel so real that I am going back very soon Sad Am trying not to dwell and enjoy my last couple of weeks with DD

TyNobdieJigz · 09/06/2011 10:55

I havent got an up to date weigh of Sophie, but HV is coming today, hopefully wont cancel, and ill update then. She is so chubby im guessing she will of gone from 5lb 13oz to 20lbs at least Grin

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 09/06/2011 17:59

We went to baby PEEP for the first time today and it was really good. There was even messy play with custard (without sugar so it was just really cold smooth scrambled egg). A baby a month older than Bronwen but teeny tiny (and Bron is pretty small) was a little live wire crawling everywhere and she slipped spectacularly in the custard (totally unfazed). I'm still laughing now. They even take photos and you can print off copies for free to take home!

DD loves courgette and is a picture of concentration at the moment examining the last little bit she has.

Xavielli · 09/06/2011 18:36

Hehe, Finn and I have spent a pleasant afternoon learning to clap and practicing our dr evil laughs! So funny!

He's usually quite content to amuse himself but he's at the stage where he is so close to crawling and is really frustrated.

Nice to hear about all the good baby weigh ins! I haven't weighed Finn since his last set of jabs. He's booked in for his 8 month check on 28th so I'm sure we'll find out how chunky he is then!

HarrietJones · 09/06/2011 18:58

Dd3 tried to run away from her bath tonight. Holding my fingers Grin. chuckling hysterically!

Omg Sophie is only 16lb 8oz she is so chubby

TribbleWithoutACause · 10/06/2011 09:46

HJ Grin

At the last weigh in DS was 19lb 6oz (this was a couple of weeks ago mind you).

HarrietJones · 10/06/2011 10:46

I've not had her weighed since her 6 m check. Might go next week after sports day as I'm in the area. I think she's gone taller as al her leggings are short.

Currently on a baby proofing mission. Fireguard didn't fit & going to have to adapt the play pen to fit & ordered another & wall attachments. Looking St safety gates for our odd shaped doors now as dd3 is v keen to get in the cellar or dds bedroom

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 10/06/2011 14:17

Oh yes, baby proofing. Great fun when you effectively live on a building site with cable and things that can fall on you about. We already have gates on the doors to stop the dogs so thats good. Just need stair ones and one for DD's bedroom.

Just had some worrying news. BIL has a tumour on his spine. Thats all we know for now. He'd been complaining of backache for ages (over a year) and had been fobbed off. Has finally been given an MRI scan and its shown the tumour. He has an appt next week for further investigation. Sad.

busyprocrastinating · 10/06/2011 14:48

Just trying out my new name (it's Sam12)
Sorry to hear about your BIL Mock I hope that they can sort it out for him.
By the way you said that your brakes had seized on your pram. Wasn't it you who has the Spin?
Got a new baby card yesterday, only 8 months late!, with some vouchers for MC so am going to look to see what I can get for DD

HarrietJones · 10/06/2011 17:29

Sorry to hear that mocking

Like the new name procrastinating!

Dd3 full of herself today, finding her all over, Going to baby shop tomorrow with tape measure!

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 10/06/2011 17:48

BP yes I have the spin. They'd seized into the on position, so DH fiddled with it so the wheels could keep moving, but it meant that the brakes stayed in the off position, which obviously wasn't safe. Mothercare says it will take 4 weeks before I get it back. In the mean time I have a rickety MC Xoob.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 10/06/2011 18:03

Just done Nigella's slow roated chicken garlic and lemon. DD has just eaten a roasted lemon quarter and some garlic Smile.

SilverSky · 10/06/2011 19:39

Birdy how awful for your BIL and family obv I mean you too. That's the second incident I've heard of people being fobbed off. My pals hubs was the same. Turns out his lump is cancerous. But it's not spread, it's been removed and now they are waiting for results to see if chemo is needed but we hope all is ok and that will be that as they've just had a baby. It's a cruel world isn't it?

TribbleWithoutACause · 10/06/2011 21:59

Oh Mock, I'm sorry to hear that. Same to you too Silver.

I've got to find two weeks childcare for a course I'm doing. I have a feeling it's going to end up a right mish mash of people doing this. I've already consulted with my childminder and she can't do anymore than our regular slots. Buggery.

tiredfeet · 10/06/2011 22:15

Excellent name procrastinating!

mocking sorry about your bil. same worries here unfortunatley. fil due an operation and then we will know more, such a worry

tribble hope you manage to find someone, maybe a childminder/ nursery where a child is on holiday?

PikaTYchu · 11/06/2011 22:14

Hi its Ty
Should I be worried, dh went awwww at a newborn baby in sainsburys earlier Hmm Grin
It was his idea to have Sophie Grin

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 12/06/2011 06:13

Grin Ty

Mocking I hope they move quickly and diagnose him/act an not muck around. Horrible experience even if it's benign :(

We ae allgood. Dd2 was threatening crawling weeks ago but seems happy with a couple of half steps. She is better at going backwards! Ds1 went to bed with no nappy on last night- arrrgg I'm hoping all is well, not woken yet!!

Why is it so grey and miserable today?! I hope it gets between otherwise I'll have to scrub the kitchen rather than beaching with the dc :)

TribbleWithoutACause · 12/06/2011 18:37

tf I think a friend of ours is going to help us out for one or two days and dh is probably going to have ds for one or two days.

Ds decided that he wanted to write his life story this morning and so in true form went for the laptop. Unfortunately he hasn't quite got the hang of going from sitting to his tummy in a gentle fashion so onstage launched himself and landed face first into the carpet. Well I laughed anyway. Grin

HarrietJones · 12/06/2011 20:32

Fingers crossed tribble!

Tired little girl tonight, been on the go all day, swimming, shopping & chasing big girls. Kept picking toys in tesco, v keen on this pink bike thing

OP posts:
HarrietJones · 13/06/2011 11:38

Latest boxes of baby proofing arrived this am , I've had a look but think some are a two person job & dh will go on & on if I fit something wonky!

OP posts:
HarrietJones · 14/06/2011 18:50

Am I the only one here? :(

has there been a zombie attack or worse

Have you all developed a RL?Shock

OP posts:
PikaTYchu · 14/06/2011 19:30

No worry of a RL HJ Wink
I have no news to report atm, life is going smoothly. Sophie is sitting strongly crawling on her back and rolling like a good un Grin

tiredfeet · 14/06/2011 19:55

Zombie attack here, at least that what my head feels like! In reality its just ds has forgotten how to sleep, brain barely functions, and I have to save those few remaining cells for my days at work now (albeit mainly so I can gossip with my colleagues Grin )
