Eek it's going so fast!

Well my night out has been cancelled so it's not an urgent rush round the shops but we are going to have z look for some summery clothes anyway.

Spring- you are managing really well then since it's not long since your op!

And I don't think I'm pregnant. I've done a few tests since January & I'd be 4 months now & nothing would fit so I think I'm safe there!

Hello MeRight. I have a dd who was due 30 Oct but was born 5 weeks early. Also have a ds, four.

Tf do you have a sit-in play centre thingie (don't know how else to describe them!)? We've just recently reassembled ds's for her and she's really enjoying it.

tiredfeet · 13/05/2011 14:54

Yes we've got stuff like that. Think we're doing similar things to you lot really I think usually its that we get out of the house every day and we didn't that day and that's why I started to run out of ideas. Plus I think I'm too conscious at the minute that I want to make the most of every last second before I go to work, so feel a bit unsettled about that if that makes sense?

spring sorry about the tragic family news, and I hope it doesn't get too exhausting coping on your own till dh gets back

HarrietJones · 13/05/2011 15:54

Dd3 cried round Asda today. We went in the cafe cos I thought she was hungry. No veggie meals left apart from chips so I got her a kids lynch box (4 bits of fruit & a sandwich) and she gummed /ate the lot Shock.

Sophie has recovered except a very sore bum.
Now I have it and ds :(
Do you want our original names or the ones we are now?

sam12 · 13/05/2011 21:50

sea congrats on the potty training Smile
floozie DD is like that too with the noticing food. She had a massive strop trying to get to DH when he was eating a Mars ice cream. It was very funny but have no idea how she knew that it was something much tastier than the plum she was eating.
Welcome meright
tired I often feel like I don't know what to do with DD, I think she would be happiest if I just left her to eat the TV remote (which seems to be the most popular toy on here!) She really likes bubbles and we have bought her a ball pool which she loves.
Ty I hope that you and DS are feeling better soon.
Spring sorry to here about your family news. Hope that you are managing ok.
Harriet thats intriguing about the wedding (I'm nosey) but sorry you missed out on a night out.
Well the wedding was yesterday I was very relieved to get the best 'man's' speech over and done with. The day went really well and I saw some people that I haven't seen in years which was nice. Was very Sad leaving DD especially has she had been unsettled with her first tooth coming through. DH said to MIL to call us if she was unsettled and she said 'I wouldn't dream of doing that' which made me very Angry and it kind of sums up why she has done my head in since DD was born. Anyway I won't get started. DD was fine and am sure was spoilt rotten by PILs, to be honest I don't think she even noticed we'd left her all day and night and it was probably me and DH who were more worried by it.

RooBear · 14/05/2011 15:59

How are you today Ty?. Is anyone else going through teething at the mo? I think Erin is but I don't know if its just a cold and a lot of drool!
In answer to someones early question about Erins 11 hours on a night definately when she went on formula and solids, when I was feeding her it was every 2-3 hours.

HarrietJones · 14/05/2011 18:01

Glad it went well Sam

Hope you are ok today Ty

No idea on this wedding cancellation thing, just glad we didn't fork out to go abroad for it.

Dd3 has another cold & is dripping drool & snot :( , bit Croaky too but not too unhappy

Don't count on formula being a sleep solution , my worst sleeper( think NO sleep) was the ff one.

MockingbirdsNotForSale · 15/05/2011 14:36

YIPEEE! DD just fell asleep in her own bed, of her own accord, no crying!! She can do this at night, but never for naps...until now! Soooo pleased!

HarrietJones · 15/05/2011 16:02

Apparently a 24 hour cold as completely gone this am Confused

Well done mockings dd

TribbleWithoutACause · 16/05/2011 18:40

Glad you're feeling better Ty.

HarrietJones · 16/05/2011 18:47

Glad you're better Ty

Having a weird week here. All my being over full/massive supply problems seem to be side affects of my meds. Felt like my milk had just come in after the breakfast feed. dd3 has worked hard all day trying to drain me but not any better. GP says to stop meds just to confirm that's the problem .

Spent this afternoon trying to get a hire car(&failing) as dh working tomorrow & im going to a work meeting.

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 16/05/2011 19:38

Thats annoying about your milk supply HJ.

Glad you're all feeling better Ty

We switched to BLW today when DD showed me she could do a very capable job of feeding herself her own porridge at breakfast (pre-loaded spoons) and refused lunch. So for dinner she sat in her Bumbo, on a towel and had sweet potato, courgette, carrot (a bit tricky that one but she gave it a good go), apricot, a massive strawberry, blackberries, watermelon and some bread. She only likes one thing at a time in front of her on her tray so I sat with a plate on the floor in front of her and passed her stuff. There was lots of tray banging and relishment (if thats a word). The dogs had to remain out!

shieldbug · 16/05/2011 19:42

HJ thanks for the new thread. Your poor dd seems to have really been hit hard on the cold front. I remember the very long one she had early on. Hope she's feeling better soon.

Spring sorry to hear you've had bad news. Managing three children on your own sounds challenging- one is difficult enough during the day!

Sam well done with the speech. Glad you had a good time. Lol at your dd trying to get at the icecream The first time we realised ds waqs ready for weaning was when he tried to get dh's magnum. He nearly managed to grab it too.

Ty thank goodness you are all better. Vomiting babies are always worrying.

Welcome Me Right. I like the name! I have a ds (Henry, aka Harry) who was born on the 28th, so he is one of the youngest.

Harry has just thrown a soft cube across his bedroom, which I reckon is pretty good going, especially as he's on his tummy at the moment. He's desperate to crawl and spends ages kicking his legs, kissing the floor and sticking his bum in the air, all to move about 1cm. He makes up for it by rolling really well so manages to cover a good distance that way. I know strictly speaking he should be in bed by now, but since there's no way he would go to sleep before 8pm, I'm not fighting that battle just yet.

Sorry for the long post! Oh yes and welcome back Roo good to hear from you again.

HarrietJones · 16/05/2011 19:55

Anyone else having 6-9 month checks? Dd3 has hers on Wednesday.

OP posts:
shieldbug · 16/05/2011 20:09

HJ ours have been cancelled due to a lack of hvs. Sad

HarrietJones · 16/05/2011 20:18

I'm surprised that we still have them as we only have 2 for the whole town. Maybe we don't have that many babies for them to check?

OP posts:
MockingbirdsNotForSale · 16/05/2011 20:49

I didn't know there was a 6-9 mth check. I haven't seen the HV since January as I can't remember where or when the clinic is!

TribbleWithoutACause · 17/05/2011 09:41

HJ Weird, ours just seem to drift through the clinic when I'm there, no mention at all about a six month check.

Went to baby clinic this week and DS is a whopping 19lbs Shock and has jumped up to the 75th percentile. I personally think he's raiding the fridge at night.

HarrietJones · 17/05/2011 10:32

It's not in the red book mocking, that's why I asked

Hi! All!

Hoping you will remember me. I was on the October 2010 Antenatal thread, but we lost our little one at 18 weeks gestation. Anyway, I just wanted to update you all with my very happy news. I gave birth by elcs on 28 April 2011, to a healthy baby boy, weighing 8lb 12oz, we've named him George. Mummy and daddy are very happy. Hope you and your LO's are doing well. Best wishes for the future. xxx

HarrietJones · 17/05/2011 18:47

Congratulations mummywilliams that's fantastic news! I remember you announcing your pregnancy but didn't realise it was that long ago.

OP posts:
tiredfeet · 17/05/2011 19:05

Congratulations mummywilliams I am so pleased for you!! Hope you are enjoying lots of cuddles with baby george, and thank you for letting us know

Don't know anything about a 6-9 month check here either

Survived my first two half days at work! Ds seems to be settling well at nursery luckily. I was so nervous about it but dh convinced me to just try it and I do think it will be the right thing for our family in the long run. Jobs like this one (part time in my area of law) come up so rarely, and I really didn't want to have to go back full time. Plus they seem really lovely people, and we can work flexi time and from home when we want. I feel really positive about it now, although I think it helps that dh can do some of the childcare in the week.

hj hope they can help you sort out the medication/supply issue

ty I am glad dd is better now

sheild I actually wanted ds to have an 8pm bedtime but he is dead set on going to sleep at 7 every night!

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 17/05/2011 19:59

Mummywilliams-congratulations, such fabulous news for you all :)
