I was in bed!!! I'd been out with work on thurs so was knackered.

I haven't had my hair cut since Olly was born! I'm having my feet nibbled this week. I bought a voucher dor dh for his birthday but he won't go on his own!

We've had a very eventful morning this morning. There was a lot of banging so dh went to find out what was going on. Olly was in the spare room & the mirror thats propped up behind the door had slipped down. It fit perfectly in the space between the door & wall. Dh had to force the door off its hinges to get in. I was just on the verge of calling 999. Poor Olly was screaming. I bet he was thinking "why don't you just come in here & get me!" Sad

mapletrees · 02/07/2011 10:25

Oh banana, that's the stuff recurring nightmares are made of Grin (though for me it's getting locked out while he's still in the house) Hope you're all recovered now..

It's now over a year since I had my hair cut Blush. Was another one of those things I was going to do on my maternity leave...

sassy have you tried setting Isobel and Jacob up to play peekaboo with each other... Better make sure you have a video camera handy, just in case it works Grin Might just keep them occupied for long enough for you to find that strapless bra...

saoirse86 · 02/07/2011 11:01

It's only been the last couple of weeks that I've actually started to feel myself again. I've been floating about the place in summer dresses which I've spent far too much money on considering I now earn £200 a month and sandals. I've come to terms with the extra stone I've still got from pregnancy and feeling better for it! I was given vouchers for the fishy foot thing at christmas but haven't done it because I hate feet and I really hate fish! Hmm

Orlaith's started stepping between things but only if it's one step, she won't let go for longer than that. But she keeps getting so excited and trying to cruise so fast she's falling over more (which I didn't think was possible).

I was trying to teach her to wave but now she just puts one or both arms straight up in the air for no reason. Everyone finds it cute so she thinks that's what she was supposed to be doing. Oh well! Grin

bananacurry · 02/07/2011 21:17

Evening all! opinions please! Is this dress too ott for a wedding??

Dixiebell · 02/07/2011 21:24

banana, not at all, it's fab!

mapletrees · 02/07/2011 23:12

I agree with Dixie.

saoirse I'm loving the image of Orlaith sticking her arms in the arm then looking around for a reaction Grin

mapletrees · 02/07/2011 23:13

Arms in the air, even - 'arms in the arm' sounds a bit painful Grin. Must go to bed.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/07/2011 03:31

I think it's lovely too bananacurry.

Well out evening out turned into a disaster, first we had to get husbands to go and move cars as we parked in one lady's neighbours drive as they are away and then it turned out they were coming back. Then we went to get the car at the end of the evening and it was locked in the car park!! £50 taxi and possible £70 fine for parking over hours and it's my fault as I suggested parking in that car park :(. Now can't sleep and I have to drive back tomorrow to take the lady to get her car back. Had a lovely time before we realised the car was stuck though and had a round of drink bought for is (first time for me but that's what happens when you go out with a group of attractive women I guess). Just want to cry now and go to sleep which I can't as I feel so crappy :( :( :(

newmum001 · 03/07/2011 08:48

Aww cinnamon I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously the money is a shitter but I'm sure no one blames you for that and I doubt any of them think it was your fault, you didn't force them to park there. I'm glad you had a good night before that though!

newmum001 · 03/07/2011 08:48

bananacurry · 03/07/2011 08:50

Thanks! I've ordered it, will see when it gets here!

Cinnamon gutted your night was ruined. Hope you managed to get to sleep. Never had a round bought for us either Sad guess we're not attractive enough!

We had a lovely day yesterday. Went to a birthday/housewarming party. I took the boys on my own cos dh was at work. I had to leave after 2 hours tho cos it was spread over the front & back of the house. I was getting far too stressed trying to keep olly happy & ds1 in sight cos the drive was open to the road! 2 children are just too much sometimes, How you with more manage I'll never know!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/07/2011 12:56

No parking ticket, yay!!! I got to sleep sometime before 4 and Luke was up at 6.30, so feeling great today and that was without drinking!!!!

SeaChelles · 03/07/2011 19:22

Cinammon - is conjunctivitis something you would still look after kids with or not? Olly has it (docs tomorrow) and am wondering whether I will have to get DP to take Tues, Weds, Thurs off with him as I really can't take what will only be my 2nd week in work off....Sad He is ok in himself - just ridiculously gunky eyes. I know its contagious if you use the same towels. flannels etc - but not sure what the childminder will say?

Olly climbed all 13 stairs by himself this afternoon (with me behind him obviously!) Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 03/07/2011 19:49

It used to be that you have to exclude until they've had the antibiotics for 24hrs but the recommendation now is not to exclude BUT each Childminder is running their own business so it's down to them, you should have a copy of all policies and their policy on sickness should include what they will and won't accept.

You will of course have to pay but you can get chloramphenicol drops from the chemist without bothering with docs, you'll have to lie and say it's for dp as pharmacists are funny about stuff for babies but they are exactly the same as those the dr with prescribe without the hassle!

SeaChelles · 03/07/2011 19:52

Thanks cinammon Grin

comixminx · 03/07/2011 22:11

Hey cinnamon, glad you didn't have a parking ticket! Shame the evening ended on a bit of a down note but great to have some time out, eh?

Aphra is doing really well on moving around - very strong on her pins and takes steps when held by both hands and encouraged by us.

I win on the "lax on personal grooming" stakes but I really don't care! I never was much on depilating anyway, it's a trap of the patriarchy (TM). I can fit into my pre-pregnancy trousers though some of them are a bit tighter than they might be, at least it saves me buying new clothes.

This coming week I start on 4 days a week proper! In June I've been doing a soft start of 2.5 days a week - officially 4 days but using up some holiday so as to actually go in only 2.5 days. Luxury! I think 4 days a week will be ok though as I've got back into the swing of it now. Dunno how laundry is going to get done but apart from that it's all good.

Debs75 · 04/07/2011 08:42

Hi all Lucy is now standing and can even manage it by herself for a couple of seconds. Her favourite game is to stand at the settee between my legs and wobble about. Yesterday she was trying to bend down and pick up one of her ducks. It took her ages but she was really happy when she did it.

Banana I am taking them to a house party on Saturday and its another one which will be open from front to back. Luckily we are not taking DS as he would be escaping or trying out all the beds but it will still be me and the 3 girls.

bananacurry · 04/07/2011 19:47

Cinnamon glad you didn't get a ticket!

debs how old are your other dc?? I loose track!

Olly seems to have developed an aversion to his cot. I had to take him for a walk last night to settle him. Everytime I go anywhere near his room he screams. take him away & he's fine. Its only at bedtime. He screams as if he's being murdered. Controlled crying won't work cos everytime I go in he's stood up. If I go in when he's calmed down a bit it sets him off again. I've just sat through 10 mins of earpiercing screaming. The neighbours must think I'm awful. I think I'm awful. I can't take him for a walk this week cos dh is working till 10.30 so i'm on my own. I don't know what else I can do! I don't have children who don't settle/sleep.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/07/2011 19:55

I kind of agree with you comixminx but I feel uncomfortable when I'm hairy and dh is happy either way so it for me really. Hope all goes well when you're back to work 4 days, things get done I managed it when I went back to work after ds1 and I was out of the hour 11hrs 5 days a week and unless you ahve unlimited money you can't get away without washing clothes Wink

Go Lucy! Luke is making amazingly fast progress with standing and cruising Debs75, he's got the hang of bending down and picking things up but is still very pleased when he does!

Luke woke up at 4.20 and was awake and very unhappy for most of the next 2 hrs :(. No idea what was wrong at one point he fell asleep him my arms and I had fallen asleep too and he just woke up crying really hard. He cried less hard for a bit and I fed him again and he finally went back to sleep. Poor little thing no idea what was wrong with him, maybe it's the chicken pox on its way?

cinnamongreyhound · 04/07/2011 20:04

Sorry x-posts bananacurry. One of minded children had a fear of his room for a while, he started piling toys into his bed so there was no room for him. His mum bought him one of those lavendar/wheat heat up teddies, a nightlight and she sat with him to help settle and then decreased the time she sat with him but he was about 22 months so older and he understood a lot more than Olly would. It is just his room or the cot? Had he got something trapped/hurt himself recently? Worse case I guess you can rock him in his pushchair in the garden.

saoirse86 · 04/07/2011 20:51

banana FSR this computer won't show me links sometimes but I'm sure the dress is gorgeous! Grin

Orlaith and Imara have been so difficult to settle recently, in the day and night. I can't work out what it is, heat maybe? Confused Today Orlaith's only slept for a total of 25 minutes!!! Shock She had better sleep tonight or there'll be trouble!

cinnamon I'm glad you had a good night before the car park issues. As you probably all know I work in a pub, well did until about a 11 months ago and will again in the next few weeks, so used to get lots of drinks bought for me. Moreso before I had a big pregnant belly. Hmm That's actually how I met DP, he was a drunken customer, I was a barmaid, how romantic. Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 04/07/2011 21:07

I was recommended this book by an American friend but haven't looked at it. I don't have problems with settling Luke but he wakes in the night a couple of times a week, sometimes he'll feed and go back to sleep but other times he is so upset but not hungry. She recommended this but from what she said it's a lot about making sure they have enough daytime sleep, watching for signs that they are tired before they get too tired and a good bedtime routine which I don't think is my issue but may help you saoirse86, will have to look at an exerpt.

mapletrees · 04/07/2011 22:12

banana it's sounds just like what Louis did a while back - one night he just started screaming at bedtime. Basically he cried inconsolably for an hour at bedtime, every night for a week, and then stopped again just as quickly as he started. It seemed to be linked to his cot as well. We spoke to a hv who specialised in sleep issues at the time and she recommended playing with him in there during the day so that he would be comfortable. We did this for a few days, and he did stop, but I can't be sure if it was just co-incidence. Might be worth a try though? Good luck, I remember well how horrible it was, especially as it was so out of character Sad

Debs75 · 05/07/2011 09:31

Banana DD's are 15, almost 3 and almost 1 and DS is 12. I lose track sometimes as wellConfused

Lucy's sleep is up in the air as well. Friday and Saturday went great with her falling asleep downstairs and I was able to take her upto bed without her waking up. I even cleared out her cot so I could try and put her to sleep in there finally. Sunday and Monday she was a little monkey and fed on me for ages then woke up as I got her upstairs so she ended up feeding in bed with me to get back to sleep.

Even more annoying is the fact I am waking up with her at 5-5.30 and then not being able to get back to sleep. By 3pm I am slumped on the settee snoring away

patito · 05/07/2011 21:47

HI guys

How are you all. Not had time to catch up, will try to do some day soon. Been a bit hectic over here. First went into hospital for (planned) biopsy on ear (long story will explain another day), then Dad and his partner came over to visit for a week so was busy doing tourist things. When they left we moved sticks for summer, we´re housing sitting and has taken a while to settle in. Also they have an Apple and its first time I´ve used one, its taken me three nights just to find the on button Blush.

Maia is fine, she´s all over the place it. Should have been a Kyptron factor round to change a nappy of a 10 mth old baby!

Hope everyone is well, love to ya all. xx
