Aw mlic :( really feel for you. It'd be a lot easier for dh to go and speak to them at that time so maybe ask him and see will he? you take on everything else!
E had a bad night too. She has woken up in cinvulsions screaming. Didn't want either of us. So have just calpoled and fed her. Don't know what was wrong with her. Maybe a really bad dream?! she's currrntly standing up in the bed tryin to pull everything off the ledge so she's happier anyway.

Horrible night here too, I couldnt get to sleep for ages as I was so hot, then Dylan decided to wake up every hour or so, prob the heat. He only had a nappy on but because our flat is modern and well insulated the heat can be unbearable.
We cant open the windows in our bedroom either as we're on a roundabout linked to a duel carriageway so its V loud.

Whats everyone upto today? Cant decide what to do, DP is watching the boring F1 so he'll want to be in for 3 hours whilst thats on.

Liking the meal plan info, mlic, it's giving me different ideas for food. I am so unimaginative when cooking.

Dh is back from Fiji and brought me a huge bottle of Bombay Sapphire Grin and some smellies. He is now asleep on the sofa at 8.30 pm Hmm

memphis83 · 08/05/2011 09:45

mlic your meal plan sounds delish, my dh just wouldnt be full up unless it had mounds of potatoes or meat in it, i did that curry the other day and had to put chicken in his, on monday and tuesday he would need potato, on friday he would want it full of veg and chicken and on saturday if i gave him pizza he would want garlic bread and loads of wedges, he isnt a fatty he has a 30 inch waist, so how does he eat so much, i jusy presumed thats what men ate reading your menu i realise hes just a guts!

on the subject of dropping a bottle i thought about that but have been worried about it being less fluid for him, he clamps his mouth after a couple of mouthfuls of anything i give him, but he eats everything my mum and dh gives him!!!
he cried through the night for my mum and i gave her strict instructions of no bottle before 5.30 as we have been letting him cry as i know he doesnt need it but she gave him a bloody bottle and with dh away this week i know im in for a shitty week with no sleep now!

morning all

you're v welcome re the survey Grin

kk hope you have an amazing time on hols. I'm sure all your planning will pay off and E will be great.

Pleased your dh is back bearing gifts wss Smile

your meal plan sounds right up my street mlic, can i come and eat at yours this week pretty please? Have you made many of those recipes before?

re your dh and weekends - what would he say if you suggested a family day trip/walk/picnic/go to the cinema/lunch etc? Sorry that i'm going on, I just can't get my head round why someone would have a lovely family and then not want to have fun with them at weekends Confused

i reckon mlic's right re milk at this age memph. as i said yday, i missed A's usual 4pm milk feed and she slept better than in ages (which was obv partly due to her tooth finally breaking all the way thru, the girl's got tombstone front teeth like i have), only waking up briefly twice (for her dummy) between 11.30pm and 7.45am Smile

talking of dummies - whose babe still has one? what's your plan for getting rid of it?

mlic does w settle as quickly now without a dummy? that's what is putting me off getting rid of A's as she goes down literally the moment i give it to her.

Relaxing day here. Just been breakfasting, reading sunday papers and playing scrabble (not all at once) whilst A & F poodled round (F mainly in his playroom playing/listening to music again, A mainly watching the washing machine avidly Smile), just putting them down for naps. Later we'll go for a walk, get some shopping and do a veggie roast and maybe some baking.

what's everyone else doing today?

malibustac · 08/05/2011 11:43

Mlic is the tomato and balsamic your own recipe? Sorry about your night

Memphis I agree with mlic I think 5.30 is ok for a bottle as they haven't ate all night iyswim. How's your mouth?

Kk were did you get your dress from? Mine is orange from asos

Wss did dh have a good time? Fiji looks amazing

Night was shit again so round 2 tonight. Dp is taking her to his mums so sleep for me. Dh your night sounds like mine

mlic dropped his bottle this morning so hoping he will eat bether today, L loves pate too, I may look at my library for some cookbooks as I had a vegatarian bible (not the same one) and it was rubbish out of 50 meals I fancied one!

stac mouth is so bloody sore all the swelling has gone but this had made the stitches loose so my gums are raging! and after going out on bike last nightthe helmet putting pressure on face didnt help!!
cakes L still has his dummy, he only has it in the day when he is having a nap or bangs his head and hurts himself, I dont know how im getting rid of it, I said it was going at 6 months, that passed, then I said at 9 months it stayed in his cot, thats passed, I fear he will have it at 5!! he doesnt suck it much he bites it and pulls when his teeth hurt mostly! my friends ds is 18 months and sobs for his and talks with it in his mouth, I dont want L to be like that!
today we have been to see sil and dh has took dog and L out for a walk now and im going to clean out my car, Ive just booked myself for a months Flabelos I need to shift the back fat and muffin top, last time i did it i lost 6 inches in 30 days so im doing 3 months to wobble myself to a size 8-10!!!

mlic its that wobble plate you stand on we used to have one when I lived with my mum but when you buy one on the shopping channel the girls with the whiter than white teeth dont tell you the vibration makes your feet go numb for the next hour, the newest ones in the gyms burn 300 cals in 15 mins, its 2 mins from my house and im alowed to take L with me so im going for it, when he is asleep i can push him around there and its in private booths so wont offend anyone else!! it literally wobbles the fat off ive done it before and didnt maintain it but now this new place has opened i can go as i walk to the cake shop Grin

CakeandRoses · 08/05/2011 19:29

sounds a plan re docs mlic but NOT a healthy diet re your tea and buttons for lunch! tut tut

i hate dummies too mlic which is why i can't quite believe i haven't binned A's yet. i def am working up to it tho and it stays in her bed all day now as she only has it for sleep. i kinda wish she was more annoying with it at night as that would force me to take it away. my priority was getting rid of the night feeds first and now i'm waiting for a break between teething to do it.

my cousin's ds had his dummy whenever he wanted til gone 3 and has speech problems - not certain it was connected tho.

the flabulos sounds fab memph! i would def be strict about L using the dummy for sleeps only if you don't want it to be too much of a battle to take it away.

we sloped off to pizza express for lunch so too full for a roast, just as well as poor F has a raging temperature - not sure if teething or illness yet.

oh and next door's just been round, no offers on their house yet Grin despite 15 viewings in 3 weeks. everyone says its too expensive and/or needs too much work doing to it.

she's so hinting for us to make her an offer below the asking price but with the estimated £150k's worth of renovation costs we'd have to make an impossibly low offer to be able to manage the mortgage AND the renovation.

chul and mlic any change with your houses?

OP posts:
memphis83 · 08/05/2011 19:46

cakes offer her a silly low offer, you never know they may accept it, if i held a property close to my heart i would prefer someone who was going to love it and make it into a proper home, thats maybe what they want even if it means taking less money!
on the dummy i am strict with it i take it of him a lot, my friends 18mo calls it a me me and talks with it in his chops makes me cringe!
L has been a grumpy little monkey all day winge winge winge, I think its as he knows hes dropped a bottle, i tried him with warm squah and he didnt want it so i left him too it but he ate LOADS at tea, a bowl of slop followed by peach and pear mixed with baby rice then a yoghurt then when we ate he had some pasta with pesto and ate that....MY BOY ATE PASTA!!!! proper pasta not tiny baby pasta!!!! then he had a bath straight after, we put nappy on and we heard a weird popping sound it was runny poo, left nappy on for few mins while he carried on and it was full of pure watery poo, not nice, had bottle and is now in bed!!! his poor bottom has open sores on it because of the 2 days he had pampers on, makes me wonder if there is something in them that doesnt agree with his skin!?

Trudyla · 08/05/2011 19:48

Evening all

had a lovely day (Mother's Day here). I got treated to some brilliant pressies and we were outside a lot, in the park, in cafes, then had friend's round for the footy. It was really nice. M's mood seems to be getting better, long may it continue.

Unfortunately her cold seems to be back, so after a few days off, we've now had blocked noses and coughs for 5 weeks. It's unbelievable and I feel so sorry for her always having to deal with a blocked and snotty nose. No wonder she's sometimes bad tempered.

We have the dummy here still. When I was pregnant I was convinced that I wouldn't be using a dummy at all. I now have it as a complete crutch, always thinking that I'll try and tackle it after this virus, after teething, after she is not so whiney anymore. Well, so far that hasn't happened. I'm getting really worried that it will influence her jaws cos she doesn't only have it at bed time but a lot during the day as well. She cries so much, if I didn't have the dummy, I wouldn't know what to do. So even though I have big worries about it, I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. Another thing to feel guilty about.

mlic I can't believe that you manage to cook all those amazing things while taking care of two children. I struggle quickly cooking M's meals cos I can't leave her alone for one second and she is not happy playing on the floor in the kitchen, or in the highchair, or anywhere without me being 20cm away at the most. I know, I could leave her to cry, but that would effect her mood for the whole day and I can't deal with that. So, we're on to much, much simpler meals. I like your plan though. I love lists. Lists rock and make life so much more organised and easier.

On that note, I bid you all good night. I'm not going to bed yet though, don't worry.

Woodlands · 08/05/2011 20:08

trudyla that must be hard never being able to leave her alone - am not looking forward to that stage. We never eat our evening meal before about 8pm at the earliest, so we cook after J is in bed (and he has leftovers the next day).

Today we hired a Rug Doctor and cleaned our carpets - I wanted to do it before J got crawling! I really like doing it too, I find it strangely satisfying. Then J and I went to a pub near Leighton Buzzard to meet my group of friends from another forum - we've all been friends for 4-5 years now and know each other really well, and it's always nice to see each other in person. We gave J some lunch before we left at about 12ish and then he had quite a lot of my lunch at 2ish, greedy thing! Then he ate a huge tea at 6pm. If only it would make him sleep through...
