viks GO and get thee to a pharmacy. We want to know even if you're too scared Grin

tsc hahahahahahaha! Clara's 'twump' truly made me larf.

Woodlands · 06/05/2011 10:55

oh wow viksam, that's amazing news after your history! Good luck trying to get your head round it, I can imagine it's a massive surprise.

Poor you having to get the MAP TSC, that will be embarrassing... I forgot to take my pill a couple of days ago and DTD last night, but am assuming all will be well. I'm sure it should be. I'm BFing enough still, after all.

J was awake and grumpy from 6.15am. He wasn't satisfied with sitting next to me in bed and playing with his toys, he had to climb on me and pull my hair repeatedly. I texted DH (who had left at 6.10am, bet that's what woke him) that I was going to shave my head because I couldn't cope with the hair pulling. grr. It will be better once I have it cut next week (for the first time in months and months) as it won't be so knotted and split-ended. I tried pulling the duvet over my head but then he kept tipping forward and crying till I picked him up again. Breakfast TV distracted him for a while, then I remembered how my phone can buy me quite some time in the morning, so actually I didn't have to get up till 7.30!

Just been to buggy bootcamp in the sunshine, then eventually got J off to sleep afterwards and he has stayed asleep in the buggy. I have had a shower and coffee and feel much more human. Hopefully J will be happier for the rest of the day!

CakeandRoses · 06/05/2011 11:46

Wow vik!!! Amazing news! iirc usually the ones with 2 windows and 2 lines are positive but we NEED confirmation so go get another one now!

I sniggered at clara's 'twump' too tsc! Your day is getting better and better.

How are you feeling stac?

It's not that unusual for false alarms with the angelcare trudy, we had a couple with F. I think it's a combo of the mattress, base, where the pad is and perhaps if they're breathing more softly. One of the ones with F happened just as I woke up and looked at the monitor and waited and waited for the light to flicker and then the alarm went off. He was totally fine but it was heart-stopping for me.

CakeandRoses · 06/05/2011 12:02

hope everything goes more smoothly from now with your little nephew chul

trudy that's interesting re milk intake there - how much are you supposed to be giving them in ounces now then? are you still bf?

there's no 'should' re walker but they do seem to adore the disgusting noisy plasticky things. F got loads of use out of his once i'd finally relented and bought him one (from ebay) once he'd obsessed over his little friend's one for months. the one we have is this vtech one which babies seem to get on well with. i just wish it collapsed more easily for quick hiding storage.

i would LOVE to be pg now actually but having just done the usual morning routine of feeding, toileting, cleaning and tidying up after, washing and dressing, laundry washing and sorting, and then FINALLY putting two children both down for naps - i really don't fancy adding another one to do all that for.

wonder of wonders tho... after breakfast, F asked to go and play in his playroom, he ended up listening to nursery rhymes and playing his instruments for half an hour all on his own - on a totally different floor of the house to me and A! Felt like it was a real milestone of him becoming a big boy Sad

hoping to have a quick nap myself now then lunch and then meeting friends at playbarn - it has a great outside area with play equipment, grass and adult table and chairs so is good for sunny days too Smile

i would write a note re the tree. are they coming back?

OP posts:
memphis83 · 06/05/2011 12:53

oh how things move so quickly, after my trip to the docs for my routine nutter check with dr fitty i have been told i am 2 weeks late for my depo injection... we havent had sex for 3 months but in the past 2 fucking weeks we have!!!! but congrats vik go and get a test WE need to know for sure!!!

I dont have to go docs for a month as he is pleased with my progress, he also said not to worry about L not drinking as being constipated when he eats so much fruit shows he has sluggish bowels which a lot of babies do, and fruit is 90% water.
cheers for advice on nappies mlic finally got a pack this morning, one of the biggest tescos in leicestershire and they had 1 pack of size 4's so its good to know aldi's are good too, he has nappy rash after 2 pampers nappies!!
tsc Grin at brides nightie!! and at twumped
stac hope all is ok today
chulita i would just take the tree as they werent nice neighbours! Grin

Chulita · 06/05/2011 13:12

I wrote a note, not sure if they're coming back, the garden's full of rubbish/bin bags so they might come back to tidy up (or they've left that for the housing people). It was bone dry though so I'm glad I got it even if they still want it, at least it'll be alive!

memphis bloody typical re depo jab, how would you feel about a second? or is it too soon to be thinking about that? :)

cake maybe one day you'll have wee sessions as interesting as mine, something to aspire to perhaps Grin

memphis83 · 06/05/2011 13:15

chulita they thought of putting my fanjo through that anytime soon is soul destroying, they cant do it before next wednesday either!!
we have a small downstairs toilet and thismorning i had L with his walker and the pup with a huge teddy in his mouth in there with me, i now remember why i go upstairs, L cries his heart out when dh goes in the toilet!!!

kkfairybrains · 06/05/2011 14:31

Am Grin at all these possible pregnancies! any word since vik?
chul you done the right thing in taking the tree
stac it's a bit sore but not too bad
right i'm starting to worry a little about how to keep E entertained on the flight. It's 4 and half hours but her naptime is during this. Obviously we can't bring too much on the plane and don't want to bring anything too noisy so any tips??

Chulita · 06/05/2011 16:09

A couple of drinking straws and some packets of biscuits that have crinkly wrappers. The biscuits will buy you about 15-20 mins and the wrapper maybe another 5 mins. Both of mine have loved poking around with drinking straws too for some reason. S loves matchbox cars and ripping up magazines. Plastic spoons that she can bash the table with.

memphis when the dc go and watch DH he gets really irritated and I just hear him saying 'stop looking at me, go away' etc. He says L just stares at his bits and it puts him off Grin

memphis83 · 06/05/2011 16:31

chulita Grin i suppose to a little girl who hasnt got boy bits its a bit different! dh always sneaks off and gets the toilet door shut before L realises, hes such a daddies boy he cries whenever he leaves the room!

kkfairybrains · 06/05/2011 16:44

Sounds good chul thanks. Won't take up any room either! was thinkimg a bag of crisps too as she'l be able to crunch and shake them and stuff and then i can eat them. It's just going to be hard to get her to stay put cos she loves crawling and standing against stuff! hopefully she'll sleep for a good chunk of it.
Dp hates when ellir goes to the loo with him to! He does be telling her stop staring at it!!

kk I flew UK - NZ with dd1 when she was 9 months (23 hours on my own - hardcore emoticon!) and I think it wasn't too bad...I had a few bits and pieces from $2 shop (like Poundland), just cheap toys that rattled or made a noise or whatever, didn't bring them all out at once, brought next one out when she was getting bored. Hopefully she'll sleep some of it.

Vik done another test yet?

Day 2 of being on my own with the kids and it actually feels easier than when dh is here. Weird! Maybe cos I didn't bother with evening meal, so once they were in bed I could just slob in front of the TV and watch exactly what I wanted and no fucking Top Gear repeats

DesperateHousewife21 · 06/05/2011 20:50

vik Im sitting in suspense here! Do a test asap! Grin how exciting!

Trudyla · 06/05/2011 21:10

Cake thanks for the link. I do hate those toys that clutter the flat but I think I will buy one for her. DP thinks she will love it and she is so frustrated these days cos she can't do much but she wants to. So hopefully one of those will help her.

They recommend to introduce one meal at a time from six month and once they eat a full meal (one is veggies, meat, potato, oil mush, one is cereal with fruit mush, one is cereal made with formula or breast milk and fruit mush) to drop one milk feed per month until at 9 months they have only one milk feed (8 oz) left plus the milk (5 oz) in the cereal. It's all quite exact numbers and of course everybody knows that all babies eat differently and drink differently (my friend is still fully breastfeeding her daughter at 9 months cos she just doesn't want to eat) but I found it quite useful. I have zero instinct with these things so have to somehow guide myself with guidelines and numbers.

I know the advice in the UK is different (even though I'm not sure what it actually says) but my midwife here, who helped me with the weaning recommended this so I stuck with it and am quite happy.

I have stopped breastfeeding around two weeks ago and replaced it with formula. M absolutely loves her bottle. Makes me feel a bit Hmm cos she never looked so happy on my breast as she does when she has her bottle.

Chulita dtd! dtd! dtd! Grin

viksam Are you seriously not gonna update us? But, but, but.... we NEED to know.

WSS I'm fainting at the idea of that.

I'm glad you are finding your time alone easier than expected. Will think of you on Sunday. It's Mother's Day here, too.

Chul How is your nephew?

Night all. (we're one hour ahead here, before you call me a lightweight). I know, I know, it's still too early but at least it's dark out.

viksam · 06/05/2011 21:31

Hi people,
Thank you for all ur thoughts, i didnt make it to the supermarket was too busy having lunch with my friend and desperatly trying to not think about it!
I showed the test to DH earlier and cried a bit, he was stunned but strangly really happy, he does know that everything could change on a dime though. I will go shopping tomorrow and get one that tells u how long and if thats positive i guess its pretty much a dead cert. Then i will begin the journey of getting my head round it, untill then im in denial!!
wws jesus, i can't believe u did that on your own, im worried about just over two hours to spain.
trulyla my hv said they should be having around 16oz a day, gina ford says 12oz and conversley Annabell Karmel says 20oz and if their not having that they need suppliments! Rubbish!
Anyway im off to bury my head under the duvet and make everything go away!!!

malibustac · 06/05/2011 21:39

Evening all

Wow we are going to have the july 2010 + new baby thread

Viks where are you? Chemical pregnancies only occur when on fertility drugs (I think)

Tsc was boots ok with you?

Trudy don't blame you going to bed at this time, pregnancy is tiring

Thanks all for asking how I am. Was such a lovely service. Mrs B wasn't religious but her son (dps friend) is being married in the chapel on 20th may so the priest conducted the service. Was lovely and personal, but now the adele song make you feel my love will always be hers. Anyway thanks all for listening to me whinge recently.

Mlic did W settle?

kk you'll probs be surprised by ellie during the flight, do you have a portable dvd player? She could watch something. As wss says just buy crappy toys, that's what I did with j

Ladies with girls is it normal for R to be grabbing her bits?

I know I have missed loads so going to go read more

malibustac · 06/05/2011 21:43

X post viks, you wee love sending hugs and a kick up the bum to get to the supermarket early tomorrow Grin

kkfairybrains · 06/05/2011 22:14

Stac i love that song! don't have a dvd player
wss oh my god! go you!! can't believe you braved that by yourself. Good idea not taking them all out at once. Feeling a bit calmer after hearing about your flight!
trudy thats interesting about the milk. I can't imagine ellie cutting out any soon as she loves her bottles! wish someone had have told me in that black and white what to feed them! felt like i wasn't doing it right half the time but it's all a learning process!
Nearly packed now! few last minute vits to throw in. Working tomorrow and won't be home til late tomorrow night and going to amsterdam sunday night/monday morning so not much time left now!! wish amsterdam was another time so i could concentrate on holidays!
tsc did you get sorted today?

CakeandRoses · 06/05/2011 23:07

yo all,

just been to a (gastro) pub with my family for my sister's bday - which i only remembered about (the meal not her bday which is actually on sunday) about an hour before i needed to leave to travel there so had a full on mad rush to get children sorted and in bed. thankfully i'd already bought her main present so just dashed to waitrose to buy flowers and choc to go with it. had a really good meal and a lovely chilled family evening.

My father had painted a portrait of my sister as a present - twas amazing.

Vik - can not wait to hear your news tomo Smile

trudy 1 milk feeds sounds so little altho i'm sure it's actually plenty.

stac sounds like a lovely service and a very moving choice of song. will be hard to hear it again the first few times at least, i guess.

re R grabbing her bits - yy, girls certainly do, just as boys do. A wouldn't have anything left down there if i didn't stop her, the way she attacks hers Hmm

how's your evening been mlic?

sounds like you're doing well wss. i hate hate hate dh going away. he's in leeds next weekend and i've arrange to go to my mothers with the children so i get some help even tho she does my bloody head in.

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 06/05/2011 23:18

aw that's a lovely present cake. he must be quite the artist!
forgot to say stac yes E is always grabbing her bits! and always seems to get right in there when she has a good messy poo!
wss happy mothers day for tomorrow/tomorrow night! not sure exactly how it falls but i know you're ahead! might not get posting tomorrow

malibustac · 07/05/2011 00:03

Should have said earlier the family themselves did her proud too.

Cakes that is an amazing present and your night sounds lovely

Wss wow a 23 hour flight, I couldn't do that myself let alone with R. Dp goes on a stag do next weekend but I've cheated as having a girly night so kids away.

Kk when you away to amsterdam? Did you get a dress?

Shattered but r has just woke up due to the neighbours having a party Angry. Feel free if your up to chat

CakeandRoses · 07/05/2011 00:11

ah yes, good point about time difference kk - Happy mothers day wss, hope you get a mo to read your trashy mags Smile

i KNOW re present! I'm hoping I showed enough enthusiasm so that he does one of me or F and A for my birthday Grin My father is one of those annoyingly blessed people who is good at bloody everything. He's super intelligent and his background is in maths/science but his also has a strong arty/musical side. If that wasn't enough, he was also very attractive when he was younger - all my friends fancied him Hmm . Gross!
