I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

Oh god, that's a point fans, polly's on the right track, working in the shop you will get to know everyone who's anyone ! Imagine the scenario, local Pony Club commissioner comes in and advertises a horse to be exercised FER FREE - and free jods & shiz for little ones. You need not even put the notice up in the window, just discretely tuck in to your BriefcaseForRealPeople! Wink

My favourite job (possibly ever!) was on the farm raspberry picking, as polly said - I was able to turn my brain off, lost loads of weight - because nobody has breakfast before starting on the fields at 6am, ate loads of fresh fruit, got a beautiful tan.

FannyPriceless · 05/05/2011 10:32

cunty I know this in my thinky brain. I'm just not getting on too well with my thinky brain at the moment. But I can do it - I will reinstate my 100 ml per day policy from today!

Rastus's pattern sounds very much like Clyde's, and I too assume needs all that milk in the night. But he is a porky lad so maybe he'd be fine without?

FannyPriceless · 05/05/2011 10:39

Yes alps! Free pony riding must be a perk. And we'll hear about the perfect house that some old lady needs to sell but doesn't know where to start as she can't stand dealing with estate agents...Wink

CUNextTuesday · 05/05/2011 11:11

Well rastus went from all that milk to zilch so it can be done.

SilverSky · 05/05/2011 11:31

Peoples - I have found a small lump on the back of MBs bonce. Only the one, I checked to see if he had a matching one the other side and then I could convince myself it's supposed to be there. It's the size of a pea and not noticeable. Only found it whilst comforting him last night. Kept waking up. Think it was due to having mittens on and not being able to get to his thumb. He is literally shredding his forehead every night with scratching. I digress, hope the lump is a) normal or b) harmless cyst or summat.

Medee · 05/05/2011 11:49

a couple of afternoons a week in a village shop sounds ace.

Cosmosis · 05/05/2011 13:25

I would love to work in the village shop, what a perfect way to get to know everyone in your new location! go for it.

I also think you should do what CU did for the sleep. have to say, I know artie isn't nearly as good at sleeping as Rastus has magicked himself to be, but he is soooo much happier now he is getting more sleep than he was. And I think, though hard while you're doing it, will really benefit your pnd in the long run, as surely being exhausted will be contributing enormously?

Medee · 05/05/2011 14:55

I am typing with two hands with a baby strapped to me! The Kari-Me arrived (v quick service from Little Possums) and although I am not convinced I have it 100% right, she's snoozing away. THis is in the tummy position, failed entirely at the Cuddly position - Muse, can you help me? Not sure how the pocket is meant to be created.

Medee · 05/05/2011 14:58

actually, this is really lovely. Almost like being pregnant again but with a real baby rather than an abstract one.

Cosmosis · 05/05/2011 15:29

ooh good to hear you are pleased with LP service, I shall tell her :)

Medee · 05/05/2011 15:38

ooh, who is it? And damn, could I have had a discount Wink

Muser · 05/05/2011 15:59

Have looked those positions up Medee as I know them under different names. I only use the tummy position, I have no idea how to do the other one. Casserole may though, she said she'd fed in hers.

Casserole · 05/05/2011 16:03

I haz no idea what those positions are! I do feed in my sling but it's a Close one; I don't know how similar they are... do persevere Muse (if you want to of course!); thought of you this morning - I fed in the park using the sling and was easier, warmer and more dignified generally!! It's great if you're out and there isn't anywhere to sit. My wrists complain if I take her full weight too long...

Muser · 05/05/2011 16:11

I think I'm going to go to a slingmeet tomorrow so I might see if someone there can show me. I find feeding her quite easy now though, but she is a shrimp.

Medee · 05/05/2011 18:03

Thanks Muse and Cass - tummy seems to be acceptable for now, shall just take her out to feed for the time being. No sling meets up here unfortunately, would have loved to go to one.

Casserole · 05/05/2011 19:37

Just to say if you google the Close carrier, the manual is on their website in pdf form - it helped me, might help, I dunno. Not sure how different the basic designs are.

FannyPriceless · 05/05/2011 23:09

Right then - Clyde has been in his cot since 7:30 pm. We had two pick up/put downs early on, and MrP has just given him a bottle and put him back in the cot. Usually at this stage I give him a bottle and he stays in the bed next to me, as I'm convinced he'll wake up if I put him back in the cot. But so far, so good.

No no no, he's stirring! Grrr...

No, false alarm.Smile

(Don't worry - I don't intend to give a live commentary all night.)

On another note, I stuck to my one little 100 ml glass of wine tonight. Thanks cunty for the kick on that front.

SilverSky · 06/05/2011 05:50

Hope Clyde was a good boy fandango!

Have woken up due to engorged boob AGAIN! Think its cos MB was pratting around with not feeding yesterday as there was too much going on and so didn't take enough. Need him to wake up so he can drain the boob.

Went to drs as they had a cancellation and the lump is a gland and the reason it's noticeable is cos his eczema is inflamed. So got yet another prescription.

Again last night he woke up crying at 10pm and took ages to settle but did go off. Wonder what that's all about?

AlpinePony · 06/05/2011 06:47

I am in heaven. Bear slept from 7 til nearly 7 without waking (dream feed at 10). #swoon#

SilverSky · 06/05/2011 07:13

Good boy Bear! Can he have a word with MB?

AlpinePony · 06/05/2011 07:34

I don't know what the "secret" is silv - but on Weds night we had to lower his cot due to leaning/leaping activities Hmm - since then he's slept like a dream. Why didn't I do this months ago??

Just dropped him off at "Baby School" - I really do feel like Tippi Hendron when I go. ConfusedGrin

CluckyKate · 06/05/2011 08:29

Hooray for sleeping babies - makes such a difference.

We are trialling the bedtime routine with BC this week. He's been in bed since 7:30 last night, has had 3 feeds and is still slumbering

Village shop job is great idea FP - love the idea of playing with tills and nattering all day. I worked in Top Shop back in the 80's before it became trendy - think hooded tops, dungarees and trainers with massive tongues. Used to sneak in through the back door so as to not be spotted.

Am enjoying the horse-shite thread - what a load of loons. Liked your retort Alps....wish I had your wit.

SilverSky · 06/05/2011 08:48

Horse shite thread? Pls to explain or linky?

Going to have to keep an eye on MB a bit more cos this morning when I was in the kitchen briefly I came back into the lounge to check on him and he wasn't where I left him, which was under his baby gym, I found him under the radiator! When I asked him what he was doing he just grinned ridiculously!

CurlyCasper · 06/05/2011 08:53

No time to write properly, but Bear and Squeaks must have been tuned in to each other last night. 7-7 here too (with no food and despite muchos coughing!) Thank heavens. Catch you all later.

FannyPriceless · 06/05/2011 08:59

Oh well, Clyde ended up in our bed again. And so did Bonnie.Hmm Obviously not tuned in to the other ESH babies...

silv I am constantly losing Clyde. Finding him half way up the stairs was a bit of a shock.
