I liked the CRESH acronym more than FESH so have used it. Welcome all ESH to your final stop on the journey. Rest your aching lady bits, try one of the many gin based cocktails, and try to molest the gorgeous waiting staff.

Note to all first-timers, please start TTC before your PFB turns in to a demonic "toddler". Hmm I may change his surname to O'Kazi. :( He's bloody mental. All he does is cause TERROR and HORROR! The US are developing a battalion of 10 month olds that they will drop on to Libya to sort the situation out once and for all.

I can only assume fanny/boxer/kate had forgotten what they were like at this age.

Head-banging, sofa-diving mentalists! Shock

I need a holiday. From my child.

kate Your husband clearly deserves a kicking for i) losing your phone and ii) not giving you windows, how the fuck are you supposed to find a job when it's difficult to edit a CV and receive phonecalls? Hmm

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2011 08:54

medee sorry, I've only just seen this. Lots of love from Family Casper. x

Backinthebox · 26/04/2011 09:04

Alp at 10 months I went back to work and a life of staying in 5 star hotels in exotic locations was resumed. 4-6 nights a month child-free sleep gives me a renewed vigour for dealing with tantrums! When they get to about 18 months old they get better sufficiently different that you feel you could cope with another one. By 2 TT was lovely about me having another baby, and by the time he was born TT was potty trained, sleeping all night and feeding herself reliably. She would even help me out with housework like pairing up socks and emptying the dishwasher. I know you have a reason for TTC straight away - but I still think you are nuts!

Cosmosis · 26/04/2011 10:08

meds lots of love to you and Mr Meds and EA.

Life is shit here. That is all.

Cosmosis · 26/04/2011 10:16

Sorry that was all very melodramatic wasn?t it.

Artie is being a clingy wingebag atm, and it is wearing me out. So I feel relieved that I?m having a break from it now I?m back at work, and then guilty that I?m relieved. We decided to move him in to his own room last night which resulted in no sleep for anyone so I am shattered and TGO and I are not speaking.

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 10:34

And on that note cossie, how's TTC going? Wink "I hate you but we're having another child together whether we like it or not."

Sleep? ha. I'm the woman hanging around outside the creche at 7:55 banging on the door in vain. I don't know what's in his pants right now.

Cosmosis · 26/04/2011 11:03

TGO made some reference to "getting on with it" ref Artie Mark 2 the other day and I just looked at him in disbelief! Wink

Backinthebox · 26/04/2011 11:04

8 months = peak of clinginess, Cos. Then they learn to crawl and you wish they wanted to keep in your sight still.

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2011 11:24

well, I'm one step closer to TTC in that we finally did the deed at the weekend. It only took 10 months Blush

alps we've come out the other end of the evil child month and now have a little smiley giggler back. She even slept through last night. Thank the wee man. But she has been clingy - resulting in much bodily ache from carrying her. She even chased me around ILs house on hearing my voice yesterday. And cried every time her nan tried to get a cuddle. Sad

Sorry he's stressing you out cos. You will get through it, sorry I can't help.

box you inspired me to get the sling out the other day and I managed an Easter Egg hunt with her in the Moby (facing outward).

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 11:32

Oh he still smiles curly, like an evil Bond villain or something! Wink I think it's more as box suggests, he's discovering his independence and now wants to be in everything. And there are not enough high shelves/soft landing mats in the world.

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 11:34

It used to be that if I were really tired I could lie on the couch and he'd lie in his chair next to me. Now he wants to be off exploring - I can't close my eyes on duty any more.

It also occurred to me last night that I miss not being able to just go out for an evening dog walk with JB because Bear's long since in bed.

Cosmosis · 26/04/2011 11:45

can teething cause a bit of a temp?

Artie is still warm apparently but seems happy enough.

How long does 8mo clingy last please say a week Wink

SilverSky · 26/04/2011 11:46

box sounds awesome! Love the river crossings and the jumps. Me 'orse not so keen on the steep downhills. There are some mega gallops esp round the back of the football stadium non?

clucks what a div!!! Severe punishment due for that fuck up. Hoss is fat and out. Not got back in saddle yet. Sharer due to have her days shortly so need to decide to give him longer off or let her do the assessment. Errr let me think about that for ooooh a nano second. No chance!

Our weekend was good in some parts and hideous in others.

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 11:51

cossie I think "officially" they say no, but reality (and parents) say yes! (To teeth I mean, not clingy)

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2011 11:57

oh god yes, alps you need eyes in the back of your head now. There is no such thing as relaxing unless they are caged in their cots. And even then I frequently hear the monitor camera getting tugged by little fingers.

cos parents say yes, but when I took Squeaks to doc with fever she made it very clear that they do not get that miserable and that hot with teething. If he's ok in himself, should be fine. The heat of the past few days really got to Squeaks. Two two-hour car journeys that she slept through and a three-and-a-half hour nap on Friday. Unheard of!

Backinthebox · 26/04/2011 12:12

Funny you should mention round the back of the stadium, Silv - there must have been a few horses down there that have been there before because everything was going a bit loopy there! Fab gallop though.

Cos yes. I have been so busy feeling for the next bottom tooth coming through I completely missed the top tooth poking out - till he bit me! Ouch.

CUNextTuesday · 26/04/2011 14:09

If i have to say 'mummy says no!' one more time i think i'll stove my own head in with a brick.

Cosmosis · 26/04/2011 14:23

he has drunk 3oz milk from the CM, the first milk he has drunk there since he started. Result.

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 14:52

cunty He's in his 40s you know, let him figure it out himself. How are you anyway petal? You've been very quiet of late. Drunken stupor or gritted teeth?

CUNextTuesday · 26/04/2011 15:05

Nothing valuable to contribute. Been away too. Rastus slept through for the last first time ever last night. I danced a jig this morning, but counting chickens i am not.

AlpinePony · 26/04/2011 15:08

If we were looking for value it'd be pretty fucking quiet around here.

A baybee which sleeps allllll the way through is the Holy Grail and information such as that needs to be shares so that we might all start creeping around and muttering "my pretty". Or something like that.

Right, I need to go and fetch my baybee. Because I'm had 8 hours to relax. Ha.

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2011 15:20

I should add that by slept through I meant through the hours I was in bed. Not from 7pm to 6am!

My child has had stolen pub food, ice cream and chocolate this weekend. I am not proud, nor ashamed. It's just the way things happened. She fell asleep in the car yesterday and we left her there, in the pub car park, with the windows open and sat on an outdoor table a few metres away and ate and drank in the sunshine.

cunty I think she hears "no" more than the dog these days. Sometimes she stops what she's doing, but more often she pretends she hasn't heard and continues on her journey of mischief with a bigger grin on her face.

FannyPriceless · 26/04/2011 15:33

I can confirm the 10 month old nightmare. He is adorable and grins like a loon all day long, but I am constantly chasing him to prevent disaster.

Yesterday I found him half way up the stairs. I'm not making this up. He just taught himself to climb the stairs overnight.Shock He can't stand up or walk, but he can do stairs?

It may or may not be related to the fact that yesterday morning I removed half a coffee bean from his mouth. Yes, half.

They are both currently asleep, which is a godsend as I was just getting to the point of sobbing with exhaustion.

Yay for Mark Todd. I nearly wept. He was, of course, my childhood hero. I even have Charisma's signature.

Muser · 26/04/2011 15:40

Hooray for sleeping through babies!

I am feeling sorry for myself today. We've been staying at the in-laws for Easter and it's been lovely seeing how besotted they are with BobKate. Ask if anyone can hold the baby while I go do something and there are arms outstretched everywhere. Then I see how her cousins get so much interaction because they live so close. So there's always visiting and fun going on.

Meanwhile they ask me if my mum is really excited and has been visiting lots. She's been twice since the baby was born. She was very helpful when she came. But twice. Both in the first month. She lives in the commuter belt so it is very easy to get to London. She never does much on the weekends. She's always saying what a proud grandma she is. And when I ask her when she might visit she says she's not sure.

I'm feeling very sad that this might continue. I wish we could move up North to be closer to the in-laws and my brother and family who are near here. Then BobKate would be surrounded by loving family. Instead it's just me, her and TBG.

God, that was long and dull. Sorry. Nothing like first world problems.
