Great Twinkle . Will check out the times the trains leave from Warrington. At least we know what each other looks like this time (I still have a bump!).
Have a real cryer on my hands this afternoon - think she's just cross and grumpy so not too concerned, though situation not aided by having to collect dd2 from school at midday with ear infection! Mumsnet keeps me sane!
Diege .

twinkle1 · 28/11/2005 19:42

sounds great diege. Not looking forward to tommorow have to phone school early to see if open due to bad weather(snow),if open i will have to take kids and josh as dh is ona course all morning never mind.
Well nothing arrived today due to the weather the midwife, DHL parcel or dh company car!!! this is the only trouble with living in the peak district I hope they all arive tommorow??? when i rang the very(not) helpful man at DHL depot to ask where my parcel is he said "oooo dont know when we will be able to deliver that?? its dangerous up there" God forbid we get the winter we are forecast at this rate we will need a helicopter to get anything done!!!!
Ok sorry rant over.

Bloomin' heck Twinkle, it sounds grim up there! Hope you don't feel too isolated - at least you have the net, though must be frustrating not being able to get anywhere/get deliveries!! Is this your first winter in the Peak District? Good job you have delivered Joshua!!
Oh Lisa,I thought I had it bad with 3 under 5, but I take my hat off to you...Are you able to get any rest in the day, or do you have toddlers at home? It's hard to keep them awake in the day at this age isn't it, particualrly if you get the opportunity to rest. Hold on in there .
Well, time for 'Celebrity' - keeps me awake for the 10 o clock feed, and starting to get into it too (very I know!).

Busyalexsmummy · 28/11/2005 22:45

Very quick, just to say, had little boy 7lb 15oz,
sunday evening(27th) at 6.15pm, named Alfie!
Gas and air and water birth, great experience!
will post more info when i get the chance!

harpsichordcarrier · 29/11/2005 09:32

morning ladies
twinkle - what a nightmare for you. We don't get too much snow round here and I know how luckywe are.
lisalisa no 5 wow I must stop complaining... I am a fifth baby myself, perfect place to be I reckon.
how are we doing this morning? had a nightmare yesterday evening. my first day at home with the two dds and I was waiting for dh to come home so I could have a bath an d glass of wine (it all went fine actually, but still...) and he got stuck in the snow and didn't get home till really late and then was so exhausted went straight to bed. dd2 (Annabel) crying from about 8 till 2am... lordy how glad I am not to be a single parent. Even though dh doesn't normally get home till 8.30pm, what a difference it made knowing her might not come home AT ALL...
first visit from HV this morning so no chance of a quick nap either...

harpsichordcarrier · 29/11/2005 09:33

congrats busyalexmummy - nice work with the G&A, it is fabulous stuff isn't it. could do with a canister of it at 2 am I reckon

harpsiheraldangelssing · 29/11/2005 11:47

flutterbee just read your post about George having a cold
Annabel is suffering too, picked up something in hospital I think.
I have been using abowl of hot water with olbas oil, in the bedroom. Also a damp towel with olbas oil left on a warm radiator. as long as it is not too strong or too near it is fine.
Also lifting up the legs of the moses basket stand with the argos catalogue and next directory... and (sorry) but I have been using a Nuk nasal decongestor before she feeds.HTH

twinkle1 · 29/11/2005 12:29

BEKsmum · 29/11/2005 12:42

Hello all, sorry to be such an infrequent poster, have been reading the thread when i get the chance but by the time I've caught up, Thomas is crying again!

Happy Belated Birthday Londonder, hope you had a lovely time.

Sorry to hear that some of the babies are suffering with colds, hope they are all feeling less stuffy soon.

Twinkle, hope the weather in your neck of the woods improves soon, it must be very difficult to be stuck in with the kids and a new born.

Things with us are fine, Thomas is a very windy baby so spends a lot of the time crying, he is also very loud, he can drown out a ringing telephone !!!
Thankfully today is a quiet day but I think that's because he's spent most of the last two days awake, yelling his little head off.

Ben is still being an absolute star with regards to Thomas and is very affectionate and loving towards him, which is a real relief.

We're making our first long distance journey with the boys on Thursday as off to see dh's family in South Wales, not sure i'm looking forward to packing, night feeding and then a 4hr drive - ho hum, I'm sure i'll survive.

Debating with myself on whether to take Ben to see Father Christmas this afternoon, not feeling very motivated, but we're both getting tetchy being in all day - not sure who's worse me or Ben

Lol at the comments about unhelpful dh/p's, mine in a way is an absolute star but he can be an absolute bugger at night as he can happily play his computer game till 1-3am every night and still get up for work but if i wake him up to help me with Thomas funnily enough he's too tired to get up in the morning. I do try to make him pay for this by waking him more but it just means he goes to work later and then gets home later so I end up punishing myself instead.

Well hope everyone is well and enjoying thier little bundles of joy and getting in as many cuddles as possible. Take care for now BEKs

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 29/11/2005 13:32

Afternoon ladies.

Firstly, big congrats to BAM. Sounds like a great way to deliver & Alfie is a fab name...slightly cheeky but cute at the same time!

Well, things are good with us. Ella is an absolute joy. She feeds like a dream & we're getting used to her little ways. She is quite windy & likes to gulp her feed down. If I don't wind her after the first 10 mins she has a habit of hanging on to it. She doesn't like having a dirty bum so that sometimes disturbs her halfway between feeds, which is a pain, TBH. She was weighed for the first time since her birth today & she's only lost 10gm (think thats only half an ounce-ish) which shows how much milk I'm churning out!!! Can't imagine why women go in for huge breast implants...torture!

DP is coming round to the BFing but I know he's missing out on giving her a bottle. He's being very supportive & we're just so relaxed about it all. I know it's wrong to compare but when I had DS, things were very different. Ex-hubby & I didn't cope terribly well at the time, relationship was crap already, DS was 2 hrly feeder day AND night, I had IBS & was quite unwell, developed PND. You can understand why I was apprehensive this time but this has restored my faith in myself as a mother & I feel closer to DP than ever. I feel blessed. Ooh, getting a bit emotional now....

Well, waiting for Ella to wake up as left milky pillow ready to burst. Aah, the joys of BFing! For the last few months I've been missing cuddling face to face with DP but now I've got Jordan's knockers coming between us so the cuddles have to wait a bit longer.

Anyone know how enthusia is? Has she posted since the birth? Hope everything's ok.

novabrandybutterpowder · 29/11/2005 14:56

afternoon ladies and babies

Natalie has now decided that mummy makes the best bed and refuses to sleep anywhere else during the day. Still going down alright at night in her basket, but found that if she sleeps in with me she can get through the night on one feed instead of two/three. So, torn between getting her to sleep on her own and getting no sleep myself, or co-sleeping and getting some rest - hmmmm...

She's also getting noticably heavier now, finding it hard to carry her for long periods.

Bit of a moment - after BDing last night I asked DH if it felt any different, and his reply was 'it's a bit looser'. Must get to work on that pelvic floor.

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 29/11/2005 15:36

nova, love the festive name! Poor you, no-one wants to be referred as looser. It could be a reflection of the size of his manhood.....

ChaCha · 29/11/2005 16:08

Hi girls,

No way I'm going to get through all your posts and have decided not to go down that road until baby is actually here otherwise I'll just drive myself barmy with a million and one questions/qualms etc. Best to take it all as it comes and ask you to give your advice/tips as I need it. All a bit scary on the other side...eeeeek!!

Anyway, hoping that you are all well and cyberhugs to all those mummies who've been reading my posts on every single little niggle that occurred during my pregnancy from the month of March until now...wow!! What a journey!

Karma - Enthusia is fine. She sounds very well and enjoying motherhood. Unfortunately her internet has been down for a while but she is looking fwd to posting as soon as it's up and running again. She had sent you all her love and misses the threads.

Right, hope to joining you all v.soon. Will waddle off now and see yall later.

Remember to post pics somewhere you lazy lot! I want to see all those lovely babes xx

Thanks for the update Rodeo.

Look forward to lunch with some of you next week.

Boys are very good. 3 hours between feeds at night but 5 hrs between feed during the day - wonder if I can get them to swap this around................

rodeo1 · 29/11/2005 20:53

The list's getting lovely and long now isn't it?! Congratulations Karma! You sound sooooo happy
And big congratulations Busy! Alfie is a cheeky name!!
ANd well done Alicemama and welcome baby Amelia

Loving the Christmassy names Nova and Harps

Been doing a bit of shopping these last few days (last payday til xmas!), have got the children's pressies and got a Christmas outfit for ME today! Got some tuxedo trousers and a waistcoat which is v. flattering and looks fab!!

Jessie only woke once for a feed last night which is a record!!

Nice to see you again Beks! Your post made me think of a baby at the hospital whose cry was SO loud! Like a foghorn. Poor you - makes it a lot harder to ignore. If Jess gets inconsolable she gets put upstairs for 5 minutes and when I go up she's so relieved to be picked up she flakes out, poor thing. Very heartbreaking but sometimes it just has to be done

Must admit to getting into I'm a Celeb too after announcing to my sis on Fri that I wasn't going to watch it, reality TV is sooo crap, can't stand Jenny Frost, etc etc (Really like Jenny TBH!)

Twinkle, Diege - are you meeting up in Jan? I'll try to see if I can make it over if that's alright?

Laylasmum, if you can't make it do you want to meet up in Derby?

Right have to get some tea on, dp just back from work and starving (as usual)!

RodeSnowRodeSnowRodeSnow · 29/11/2005 21:00

How about this name?

RodeHoHoHo · 29/11/2005 21:07

Or this?

RodeHoHoHo · 29/11/2005 21:26

Still no proper smile from the Jessie camp. And she's 7 weeks and 1 day old (and counting)! I know she can do it, she does it in her sleep!! How about Natalie Nova?

beartime · 30/11/2005 00:42

Hi haven't been on for a while due to no TIME. Ds doing well but just threw me thru a loopwith nipple confusion(silly me tried a dummy on him, never again) and a growth spurt. I switched to Gina Ford since baby whisperer too hard with touchy baby. Kept missing 'the window' and him overstimulkated. So I like having exact times to put him down for a nap better - don't have to work out if he's tired or overstimulated or bored anymore! But after grwoth spurt he slept all day and now is keeping me up aaargh - Diege any advice?!

Sorry abt spelling - breastfeeding ad typing Left handed

congrats to everyone whose had babies!!

twinkle1 · 30/11/2005 09:53

twinkle & joshua

Londoner · 30/11/2005 11:53

Good morning everyone! Not a lot of time to post at mo because Elizabeth sleeps so well at night (average 11.30pm-6.30am!) she tends to need feeding/be awake all day....... 'banana-ing' backwards at nappy changes... think she will be turning over soon!
rodehohoho(like the name!), don't worry about the lack of wakeful smiles.... she'll be concentrating on progress in another area instead .
Hi to everyone else too, but I've got to go, will catch up properly soon

ohKARMAallyefaithfulMOTHER · 30/11/2005 13:02

Afternoon all.

Fell a bit giddy today as Ella slept for 5 hours last night. Long may it continue, I say. She seems to have quite long periods of alertness during the day which I'm really surprised at. She doesn't seem to be getting overtired or distressed, she just lies there looking around & listening to our voices. When I feed her in bed, she is mesmorised by the bedhead, its black wrought iron & the walls are white so the contrast of colours is perfect for her. Maybe we have a genius in the making???

Just had a neighbour knock on the door asking me to move my car so their delivery of oil could be dropped off. Ran out in my pyjamas, very baggy & slovenly-looking(nice) moved the car then ran back in. Then it occured to me that my rather large & obvious night-time sanitory towel was evident to all through my clothes. At least I didn't have 2 wet patches on my chest to complete the look.

Well, having a shower then off to Tescos for her inaugaral shopping trip. Must not buy chocolate. Must not buy chocolate. Overdosing on it now, feel a bit sick.
