GotArt · 22/04/2011 02:14

Ok... I just sent one out because I couldn't figure out how to forward the initial thread, but I also responded on the second message from Tree.

DD has discovered a penchant for whining. Just friggin lovely.

GotArt · 22/04/2011 02:16

OH ya... and I've started a thread here to find some boutiques in London for a designer a friend of mine works for is looking to stock her new baby and children's clothing in. Hope you can help. Thanks.

tinkloveseastereggs · 22/04/2011 12:08

hi ladies

so warm again today [grin[

treedelivery · 22/04/2011 13:36

Cold here, been foggy and chilly all week Sad

GotArt can't help with your mission as I live in the backwater provinces and there are no boutiques for 50 miles. I am not exaggerating. My mum says if she sat down and thought of the ideal place for me to live, my town would be the exact opposite in every single way ShockGrin It's a funny old life.

Right, card business.

GotArt - got your message so the messaging working. I think the FB messenging service should work well for getting the messages in one central place so nothing and noone gets forgotten or goes astray.

I thought if we used the FB group then we offer the chance to sign the card to posters Edgar may remember from her time here. Even if they don't post now. That seemed the best way looking at it from Edgar's point of view so I hope you all don't mind me initiating that?
As 120 has produced this marvellous painting I'm feeling really motivated to get it to Edgar. In her funeral thread Edgar talks about how her boy loved balloons. The whole story at the end of Pooh where Christopher Robin says they will be friends forever even if Christopher has to leave is so poignant I'm not actually sure I'll ever read it again without crying for Edgar.

If someone wants a private message then I guess message someone like me [or whoever does the final transeferring of message to painting] privately via fb or mn?

Once we have a message from everyone who wishes to contribute we can organise who and how we are putting them in the card or on the back of the painting. 120 I'm sure you'll know if the painting is better as it is or placed in a card or whatever you suggest?
Anyway, I'll do whatever I can to help but if anyone knows a better way or has some ideas please do shout out Smile

Right, back to study. Yawn.

treedelivery · 22/04/2011 13:37

Where'd your thread go GotArt?

hackneyzoo · 22/04/2011 14:37

Tree I will message you a message for Edgar, I didn't get anything through FB though.

Will catch up properly next week, all busy here, have found lovely house in Newcastle so trying to sort out a mortgage so we can make an offer. Am about to ead to suffolk for a few days so DH can have some peace and get a chunk of his dissertation done and so I can see me ol Pa.
Have a good bank holiday everyone

treedelivery · 22/04/2011 14:45

Ok HKZ. How strange you aren't getting the messages though [econfused]

Hope your pa is doing good. Have a good jaunt.

treedelivery · 22/04/2011 14:47

Oh [bconfused]

treedelivery · 22/04/2011 14:47

Oh ffs [buconfused]

GotArt · 22/04/2011 19:03

I don't know what happened to it. Weird. Anyhow, I started another one here

fly by... only 6% battery left on laptop. lol Will be back.

moosemama · 22/04/2011 19:40

GA, I think the thread got pulled because it was asking for information for someone who has a commercial interest. Same thing happened to my sister when she asked for information about what childrens groups people would be interested in attending in a certain area, as she was thinking of starting one. The thread was just pulled with no notification. She was mightily p'd off and hasn't been on MN since.

I have been trying to think of what to say in my message to Edgar, but am really struggling through my brain fog. I had it all in my head at the time, but can't seem to get the words right now. I should've written it down at the time.

tinkloveseastereggs · 22/04/2011 21:34

Teaandcakeplease · 22/04/2011 22:12

Tree we flew up to Scotland. DS was ghastly on the flight.

It's April and I've had to put a fan in the DCs bedroom as they're both hot. The room is reading 24 degrees which isn't massively hot but I guess being the 3rd floor, the heat is rising from the flats below. They've both got anywayup cups with water in as they're thirsty too. I really hope they sleep better, they should both be tired, they both woke at 6am and neither had a nap today. Gah!

GotArt · 22/04/2011 22:14

Moose Ya. I figured as much. I re-worded it. [bugrin] I too am struggling with what to say to Edgar. Has she been around much on MN lately?

Tink Nice to have DH home.

DH took the car to work today because it is a holiday and he doesn't have to pay for street parking, which is good, because he is costing us a small fortune in parking tickets. We just paid out another $200 deductible for a hit and run... astounding the work cost $1800+; glad we didn't have to pay that mind you but still. Bills get paid with no problem but we just can't get ahead because of pissy things like this. DH has about $1000 worth of dental work coming up too. ARGH! Our anticipated income tax return went from $700 to nil due to an adjustment but they didn't adjust for my education and tuition amounts because, as I was advised by the person on the phone at the tax office, I need to get an accountant to do it, the government doesn't do that part of adjusting. Hmm I'm a little stressed to with the upcoming in-law visit right after baby comes. Can't seem to get it confirmed that they will NOT be staying with us. I just can't do it... too many variables involved with why I don't want them to stay here. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but really, I don't want to sleep on DD's floor on a foamy with DH and NB while niece is on couch and SIL and MIL in our bed. I'm feeling a wee bit bitchy these last few days... perhaps thats why DD is being a moody cow too. We've had earthquake tremors the last couple of nights too. Lovely.

Sorry to be such a downer.

Have a fab Easter weekend Ladies. [bugrin]

treedelivery · 23/04/2011 00:34

Evening all

Hi Tink, one person has sent a message to me so if you want to send them to me I can cut and paste them onto a word document, and then we'll suss out how to unite pic and messages adn get it all to Edgar.
Someone has her addy [HKZ?] or maybe mn would message her for us and be a go between. We'll sort that bit out, there is a mn blanket being sent to her so there are certainly ways and means.
But listen nobody rush, these things take time and the right message will come probably when you least expect it . The wheel is turning so that's the main thing. Especially you Moose, wait until your fog clears. Hope it is real soon for you, take it easy x

GotArt - I can't personally imagine anything worse than bodies all over the house when you have a small baby and a toddler. Good grief. Bummer big style about the tax [busad]

Tea - sorry to hear about the flight being horrid, at least it can't have too long I guess? Did you enjoy the break at all? Well done on going anyway, you have my admiration. Are you ok though?

Off to bye byes, just watched Inception with dh. Girls are back tomorrwow from their holiday at mums. They really haven't got dressed all week, have camped in woods, slept in various locations including caravans, tents, trees, floors, dog beds and same beds. DD2 spends most of her time feeding the chickens and shooing them in and out of the house, dd1 is apprently semi feral and mostly gone bush in the woods or lazing in a hammock with mums labrador.

Not entirely sure how they will react to uniforms, school runs, meal times, bunk beds, hair brushing and so on. Christ it's going to be murder isn't it [bushock]

GotArt · 23/04/2011 01:32

What did you think of Inception... I really liked it. What an interesting theory.

moosemama · 23/04/2011 10:23

Tree, we watched Inception last night as well. How weird is that! I couldn't believe it when I looked in threads I'm on this morning and the first thing I saw was GA asking "What did you think of Inception?". I was thinking - how on earth did she know we watched Inception last night - I'm sure I didn't tell anyone? [buconfused]

We were going to watch a dvd SIL gave us called Life or Something Like It, but we switched it off after about 5 minutes because it wa so dreadful. Then we looked on the deals/offers on Virgin movie and decided to watch Inception. (Dh was up for a Zombie dvd, but I vetoed that from the off .[bugrin])

I have to admit, it hurt my head whey they started going into dreams within dreams and one person's projections could appear in another person's dreams. I did start thinking something about alternative realities - have been reading some stuff about this and Atlantis etc recently (I love a good paranormal mystery me [buwink]) - all very interesting but not to be taken too seriously methinks.

Right am off to ebay to hunt down either bunting or fabric to make bunting for the camper ready for our festy in May. Have a good day all. [busmile]

treedelivery · 23/04/2011 11:04

Oh bunting and a camper and have some of these [buenvy][buenvy][buenvy]

Are you feeling better Moose?
Yes I liked it, if only for a healthy smatering of good looking boys in nice suits. Enjoyed the story and the idea of t too, and the special effects. Nice to see a film where pretty girls kept their clothes on as well.
Felt a bit sad at all the men in the basement hooked up and spending their lives in dreams. Reminded me of the old opium dens

Girls back this afternoon, and I have sooooooo much work to do. Haven't got as much done as I wanted this week. Totally boring waste of 2 weeks in so many ways. Pah.

moosemama · 23/04/2011 11:52

I am feeling a bit better today thanks - not sure why, just woke up a little brighter, less achey etc. Really surprised, as I had such a bad stomach just before I went to bed last night that I was expecting to feel worse today.

We are stuck. Dh wants bright and black mexican day of the dead type fabric and I want Cath Kidston cowboy fabric and bright hippy flowers. Have noticed its stupid money to buy, so we are going to attempt making it ourselves - nothing fancy, just some pinking shears to cut out the pennants and stitch onto bias binding. We both like this idea as an alternative though, so might just run with that instead and snaffle as many remnants as we can from friends and family. That way it would be practically free.

I feel the same about the holidays, can't believe the two weeks are up and I've achieved so little. I had such good intentions and we were going to do lots of nice things together. So much for that idea. Hmm We have two weeks of being messed around with bank holidays, royal weddings and polling days now as well. I hate it when they have messed up weeks at school and am dreading ds1's reaction to it all.

treedelivery · 23/04/2011 13:39

Well, I think you should get your way as you will be making it [bugrin]

Have nothing sensible to say about the lack of routine and ds1. Except maybe approach the days at home like school with the same times and patterns?

I saw a realy interesting parents workshop on social skills etc at an autism centre in Leeds. I'd love to go as whilst dd1 isn't autistic she has some low grade similar struggles that an autistic child might have. It's just a bit of a hike, plus trying to get time off work blah blah [it's a saturday] Then I thought me and you could go Moose. Then it might be fun [bugrin]

tinkloveseastereggs · 23/04/2011 17:05

moosemama · 23/04/2011 21:08

Hi Tink sounds like you are having a lovely Easter weekend.

Been busy on the laptop ordering fabric today. We have decided to go for the rag-tag bunting idea - becaue its just a bit different - plus make a Mexican Day of the Dead Fiesta pennant flag. We are such sappy campers, we also have a selection of solar powered fairy lights for the awning!

Have also ordered yards and yards of net/tulle and ribbon to make dd a rainbow spectrum tutu (well ya gotta do it for a festy haven't you [buwink]) and a little crystal hair comb tiara as the theme for Sunday this year is lords and ladies - although we all still have to wear beards! [buconfused] Can't believe how easy it is to make a tutu - you don't even have to sew anything! [bushock] I can't wait to get started now.

Also watched a couple of instructional vids for making pillowcase dresses - they are ridiculously easy. I'm definitely going to give them a go for dd to wear this summer. Just two rectangles of fabric, a length of ribbon and couple of hems et voila!

GotArt · 23/04/2011 21:09

Easter baking here today... and chocolate chip cookies... yum

Hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend full of chocolate and family fun. [bugrin]

GotArt · 23/04/2011 21:11

Moose Please pass on the pillowcase dresses videos... would love to check that out. I'm a hand sewer.

GotArt · 23/04/2011 21:13

DD is trying to pick out all the chips and walnuts from the cookies...lol
