It was getting desperate and since MrsMCJnr suggestion came in last and I was being lazy I just went for that - hope that is ok.

Hurrah! Won tickets for Lollibop this weekend :) :) :) I heart MN! Although our best friends are going to be a bit cross with us, as we can only go on Sunday, which is the same day as their ds' 3rd birthday party.....we will still go, but probably quite late - as much as Tamara loves their ds she will definitely love seeing Waybuloos, Zingzillas and Charlie & Lola on stage so much more Grin! Haven't told the dcs yet...

Actually doing quite well on the competition front - got half a box of wine about 6 months ago and me/Ari got chosen to get the entire Year 2 set of Pearson books to check out (about 24 in the pack this time, with promises of 3-4 more packs during the year....) which he totally loved getting and sped through in a scarily short space of time.

Slightly drunk as I type this...its our 10th wedding anniversary today and DH actually took the day off work Shock and we had a properly luvverly day out....ummm....DH beckons....excuse me....WinkGrinGrin

We all good here thanks. Just about surviving the summer hols. Finding Martha the easiest Lily and Harry just constantly fighting. Not going away so trying to keep kids busy with days out. Think i may have won a weekend at a festival next week though. It's called wilderness at cornbury park in oxfordshire.
Filly congrats on your win looks fab.

latrucha · 06/08/2011 19:34

HI Filly! Hi Lily!

Very good to see you both. SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

Happy anniversary Filly. Glad you had a good day.

We're having a good summer holiday, which is surprising. I was dreading it. Sabela seems thoroughly tired out by the end of the day. I thought I wouldn't be enough for her. It does help that dH has taken some holiday Shock after being away for nearly two weeks.

I bought Sabela a big pink pram set today, just because I felt like it, and she is over the moon. It's this one. I'm a bit worried about gender stereotyping, but I knew she was going to flip out over it and she has. Oh well. Politics out of the window. That'll come later. Anyone else have a thoroughly pink toddler girl? Sabela has swallowed the whole thing hook line and sinker. She has even started not playing with some toys because they're for boys, which I dislike more than the pink thing. I don't mind her liking pink so much, but if it excludes other things I'm not happy.

simpson · 06/08/2011 19:46

yep M totally into pink

J totally the opposite and won't eat off the pink plate etc Hmm

M would wear pink, glittery crap tat constantly if I let her Blush

She too has a bright pink pram although as she has an older brother she is not adverse to playing with his power ranger toys, although of course her favourite is the pink one!!! Grin Grin

Fillybuster · 11/08/2011 15:40

I love the pink pram set....T would too, but my mum bought her a highchair/buggy/cradle set for xmas, and we got her a pram, so that's probably enough for a while Grin....all very pink, of course!

T is madly pink, glittery and princessy but thankfully has full access to dinosaurs, trains, cars, trucks, transformers etc so still enjoys playdates with the boys from her class too. And although she loves wearing skirts/dresses she is still willing to wear jeans & trousers without arguing the days I put the out for her.....for my part, I'm trying not to get too girly-girly with hair & clothes with her, even though sometimes I really want to :) :)

School hols are challenging here, but mainly due to nightmare-screaming-limpet baby. the other 2 dcs are both being fab at the moment, thank god.

off to devon for a week this weekend, absolutely cannot wait!!

simpson · 11/08/2011 19:46

enjoy Devon Smile

Have had a day from Hell with M...

Took J & M to a circus workshop at the library which J really got in to but M kicked off because her balloon was too bobbly Hmm Then she kicked off again when they were spinning plates as she wanted a pink one

By kicking off I mean full on screaming on the floor, it went on for 45mins Blush

I was soooo wound up I could have throttled her Blush

Was planning to take DC to Mcdonalds afterwards for a treat but ended up getting a takeaway and M missed out (she did have a warning this would happen if she did not stop)

JustKeepSwimming · 11/08/2011 20:41

Oh SImps - that doesn't sound fun at all :(

Filly - we are in Devon too :) Staying at my parents in Plymouth until Sat, where are you going? We've had some lovely time out on Dartmoor, today was DVD + soft play + DVD + KFC though Hmm

H being amazing given how he has been with strangers/strange places, really growing in confidence. Nursery rhymes & singing seem to be fave activities at the mo :)
Think both boys are missing school though.

M is lovely, though last few nights she's been up loads which is weird, so i'm knackered.

latrucha · 11/08/2011 22:12

I'm really not keeping up here but will be back. DH away again.

latrucha · 14/08/2011 19:40

Hello all,

Dh was away to pick up in-laws from Spain. They are finally here for a visit after 12 years! It did leave me to prepare the whole house for their visit though. I've been working like a dog. Got it all done though, but it went to the wire! Before he left, we'd been painting the house so there was no time for anything.

It's been nice so far... I'll keep you posted.

Oh, S just told me I can go away, she doesnt want me anymore, she wants to live with he grandmother. I know she's just enjoying the fuss and I'm the big bad wolf who imposes limits on it like bedtime, but a small childish part of me is gutted. It's the first time she's said anything like that. Sad Usually I'm fretting about how slavishly she adores me. It's good to have other people around for her to fall in love with, I guess.

latrucha · 15/08/2011 14:57

Well, we got to the bottom of the problem. In-laws are here and D was getting too much attention from FIL. Hopefully it'll settle down now we've mentioned it to him.

Lilyloo · 16/08/2011 11:31

How was lollibop Filly ? We just back from wilderness , had a great time , lots of pics on facebook.
Filly just seen you have won another comp , lucky you Smile

Fillybuster · 16/08/2011 15:52

We're near Dartmouth, JKS, in a small cottage on a converted farm. Totally lovely (bar the tummy bug I woke up with this morning...blurrgh....) :) :( I think its the bug DH and DS had last week - thankfully Mia had a long sleep this morning while dh took the kids exploring, and now he's taken all 3 down to the beach. I am under orders to drink lots of water and drive down to collect them all in an hour or so.

I really felt for you when I read your last update LaT, but you mustnt take it to heart...you know that S absolutely adores you, so just enjoy her getting attached to the gps now they are finally visiting, and let it take some of the pressure off you for a change.

Lollibop was fun Lily - thanks for asking - but I was Shock that people would spend £25/ticket on it....it bucketed down for much of the afternoon, and I spent quite a bit of that time grateful that we hadn't paid £100 to cram into some very busy activity tents away from the rain. Having said that, it was amazingly well run, with fantastic activities for the dcs, and I've never been anywhere where everything, including facepainting, bouncy castle, craft activities, were all included in the price before. It did mean some big queues (Charlie & Lola play had over 300 people lining up over an hour before it opened) but the rain did encourage lots of people to leave early and we only had to wait 5 mins for the kids to get their faces painted at 4pm (in a huge tent, with 30 face painters all sitting in rows...amazing!), unlike our friends who waited over an hour.

I can't believe I've now won the blebo trial....ShockGrin....I've never won anything in my life before and have suddenly had such a streak with MN! Maybe because lots of people are away, so less are entering? Hmm Anyway, its ds's birthday tomorrow (eek...he's going to be 6!!!), and i'm delighted because we've been trying to avoid getting a Nintendo/Playstation/Wii/whatever but I know how much he wants something electronicy to play with, especially when his friends come over. There's probably an AIBU thread in this somewhere - all of his friends seem to have these things and I do feel for him because DH and I are a bit stick-in-the-mud about computer games and suchlike. Probably not helped by my having spent nearly 20 years studying/working in comp sci/telecoms, hanging out with gamers. Anyway, this would be something a bit 'different' he can invite his mates over to play with, without me giving in....hurrah!

Simpson - how you doing with M?

Where's Gingeme? Did you sort out getting the bigger ds's down for their visit in the end?

latrucha · 18/08/2011 21:04

Congratulations on the wins Filly. I think Gingeme has left us, I'm sorry to say. If you're looking Gingeme, how are you?

Ugh well that blip with Sabela took some working out. FIL just made far too much of Daniel and it hit Sabela hard. She's coped pretty well wtih having Daniel around but it was beyond her to cope with that! I was very glad when she showed real gumption the next morning. She got up and her first words were 'Where's Lolo? (FIL) and spent the day making him hers forcibly. Good for her. I feel like I havent really seen the DC for days as I've been cooking, cleaning and tidying for Britain, or at least for two adults more than usual, plus I've not been very well. They seem fine!

JKSLtd · 18/08/2011 21:15

LaT - well done on sorting that out, well done to S too, a girl with gumption :)

Has G left MN??

I have been reminded by all your wins to enter the competitions, i must remember to do more. WE still have some Jordans cereal to eat from my win on that comp!

All gong well here, M slept through last night, nearly 12 hours Shock 2nd jabs today so that'll throw it our of whack i guess, ho hum.

Off to the farm tomorrow to meet friends, after we've got boys feet measured/new shoes bought.

latrucha · 18/08/2011 21:49

I think G just left this thread. Haven't seen her about on here though.

Lilyloo · 18/08/2011 22:54

G on facebook will give her a nudge.
JKS there is a school uniform comp going , may be worth entering comps now with as Filly says it's quiet at the min.
LaT bless S making FIL her own Grin she obv knows what she wants !!

simpson · 19/08/2011 12:04

Signing out for 2wks as am off to IOW tomorrow Smile

Trying to pack right now and DC not helping as they are killing each other in the way

Lilyloo · 19/08/2011 14:32

Have a lovely time Simps Smile

Lilyloo · 19/08/2011 22:11

MM you are really an inspiration helping others

latrucha · 24/08/2011 20:43

What's she been up to now? Wink

We're having another 'no' phase here at the moment. It's a real shame as she's lovely otherwise. She just seems biologically programmed to contradict everything I say. It is really like it's automatic, eg:

LaT: Would you like a drink?
S: no. (cross) Juice (in the same tone of voice)
LaT: Can you remember how to ask properly?
S: May I have some juice please mummy? (totally normal voice)

It's quite funny for the first six hours. Grin

latrucha · 24/08/2011 20:45

OH, that and the endless repeating of the same thing. We went to the harbour today, which she was very excited about as there are lots of enormous muddy puddles. Cue: 'Shall we go to the harbour' repeated all the way walking to the harbour and while we were actually at the harbour. Again, quite funny until it's just really not.

Lilyloo · 24/08/2011 20:48

Lol LaT do you remember my concern at M not talking for ages, she sure makes up for it now , the repetitive thing is very wearing i agree Grin
