We're near Dartmouth, JKS, in a small cottage on a converted farm. Totally lovely (bar the tummy bug I woke up with this morning...blurrgh....) :) :( I think its the bug DH and DS had last week - thankfully Mia had a long sleep this morning while dh took the kids exploring, and now he's taken all 3 down to the beach. I am under orders to drink lots of water and drive down to collect them all in an hour or so.
I really felt for you when I read your last update LaT, but you mustnt take it to heart...you know that S absolutely adores you, so just enjoy her getting attached to the gps now they are finally visiting, and let it take some of the pressure off you for a change.
Lollibop was fun Lily - thanks for asking - but I was
that people would spend £25/ticket on it....it bucketed down for much of the afternoon, and I spent quite a bit of that time grateful that we hadn't paid £100 to cram into some very busy activity tents away from the rain. Having said that, it was amazingly well run, with fantastic activities for the dcs, and I've never been anywhere where everything, including facepainting, bouncy castle, craft activities, were all included in the price before. It did mean some big queues (Charlie & Lola play had over 300 people lining up over an hour before it opened) but the rain did encourage lots of people to leave early and we only had to wait 5 mins for the kids to get their faces painted at 4pm (in a huge tent, with 30 face painters all sitting in rows...amazing!), unlike our friends who waited over an hour.
I can't believe I've now won the blebo trial....
....I've never won anything in my life before and have suddenly had such a streak with MN! Maybe because lots of people are away, so less are entering?
Anyway, its ds's birthday tomorrow (eek...he's going to be 6!!!), and i'm delighted because we've been trying to avoid getting a Nintendo/Playstation/Wii/whatever but I know how much he wants something electronicy to play with, especially when his friends come over. There's probably an AIBU thread in this somewhere - all of his friends seem to have these things and I do feel for him because DH and I are a bit stick-in-the-mud about computer games and suchlike. Probably not helped by my having spent nearly 20 years studying/working in comp sci/telecoms, hanging out with gamers. Anyway, this would be something a bit 'different' he can invite his mates over to play with, without me giving in....hurrah!
Simpson - how you doing with M?
Where's Gingeme? Did you sort out getting the bigger ds's down for their visit in the end?
