sorry all, really want to catch up but feeling bloody awful. Tried to sleep today but woke up worse. this bug has buried itself deep in my chest.

i'm shattered but stuntgirl is hyper. Sad

Hoping to at least lurk after dinner. Or maybe just sleep.

Cosmosis · 01/03/2011 18:20

if she's alert and weeing and pooing and gaining weight that's all good signs she's getting enough. How old is she now Muse? they do have a couple of early growth spurts.

alps I find your views on missing lunches repulsive.

Muser · 01/03/2011 18:29

Two weeks today Cos. She is alert. I have seen her eyes more these past two days then ever before. She does get a bit lazy on the boob at times, but most of the time she's fine. She just never seems to be done.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 01/03/2011 18:35

I find Alp's repulsion of views on sleeping babies repulsive.

Cosmosis · 01/03/2011 18:35

IIRC there is a growth spurt at around 12 to 14 days, so it could be that. If in a couple of days it's the same though, it might be worth having a chat with someone. Are there any bf groups near you? LLL, or there are ones in Surestart centres round here - might be good for some reassurance? ALso good to get feeding in public sorted if you're surrounded by bfing women :)

Cosmosis · 01/03/2011 18:36

Although, feeding a lot at first it completely normal!

Muser · 01/03/2011 18:44

There are breastfeeding cafes dotted around. I need to find one I can get too easily.

On the bright side, my poor cracked nipples are completely healed now.

Cosmosis · 01/03/2011 18:52

that's good :)

SilverSky · 01/03/2011 19:25

Big respect to Pampers Baby Dry for containing the hugest poo this side of the Atlantic. Truly a miracle. Three days of no poo, I knew it was a whopper.

Met HIs friends wife who haz young baby. We obv went to the sane school of parenting and marriage. Has had similar husband ignorancechallenges with raising their sproggo. Fantastic to be able to husband bash compare experiences with someone in RL who ackshallee admits their OH is not fricking Huaband/Father of the year!! Will be having more get togethers with her fo' sho'.

rollerbaby · 01/03/2011 20:33

curly big hair strokes and bars of chocolate for you.

muser wot you is describing is the way it is during these early weeks. I was going bananas with all the feeding, all the time. If it feels too much, it is probably about right. If she's gaining weight you have no worries, particularly if your nips are ok too. If they were sore that might mean poor latch and not enough milk. Sounds like you are doing a cracking job. Especially as you are already out shopping. Took me weeks and weeks before I was ok on my tod for more than 5 minutes. Dont forget, baybees are learning too and before you know it she'll be draining one boob in 10 mins and you'll be like "is that it?".

silverino babydry is a troo miracle. I too witnessed the mutha of all nappies last night and only the wee wee leaked amazingly.

alps I find the lack of chocolate and wine in this house repulsive. Well done to your little'un for first day in creche. It sounds like he had a good day.

cunty are you ok??

SilverSky · 01/03/2011 21:14

alp I find your lack of posting on this 'ere fred repulsive. Grin

CUNextTuesday · 01/03/2011 21:37

I'm ok, thanx for all your concern guys. Am now in bed and shall shortly be asleep Grin

CUNextTuesday · 01/03/2011 21:41

muse just a quickie, if you are getting lots of nappy leaks you may need the next size up. I concur with the others re feeding. Before you know it it will be a minor irksome diversion on your way to the gin cupboard Grin

SilverSky · 01/03/2011 22:35

We had tons of leaky nappies to start with. Every night and every time he woke was cos he was wet, his vest was wet, the sheet was wet and it was a nightmare. Need at least four sheets.

Trubble with bf'ing is that noone tells you how draining it is. Zonk city. Honestly it's knackering. Eat and drink plenty. MB used to also comfort suck and still will if he can get away with it. But when they are so new I don't think they quite know what they want/need so go a bit overboard til they figure it out!9

AlpinePony · 02/03/2011 08:50

silv Am very pleased to hear you've been able to let off steam at someone. :) And I hope you and reginald get to meet up soon. I'm swinging by hers during my trip to the UK, would you be able to make that do you think?

honey I am sooo with you on the repulsive lack of chocolate. He asked me yesterday if he could get me anything, I replied "chocolate". He said I hadn't told him to buy any and therefore he hand't. Wtf? Confused Isn't this in the Man's Handbook or something?

Poor cunty Sounds like she's had quite the start to the morning!

Cosmosis · 02/03/2011 09:02

What surprised me most about feeding was how thirsty you get!!

Agree with the others though, Artie is now less than 10 mins for a full feed. Most annoying actually as I used to enjoy hours of watching shite daytime tv quality dramas.

CluckyKate · 02/03/2011 09:06

We had lots of leaky nappies at the weekend....turned out that MrCluck, in his wisdom, had decided the boy need a bit of air round his balls so he had done the nappies nice and loose [duh]. he realised the error of his ways after the forth outfit change.

Shocking nights sleep last night - think the little fella is getting his first cold [bollocks].

Quick question - have reacted to some eye make-up and am sporting some rather attractive crusty eczema on one half of my face. Any ideas what I can take/use to get rid and soothe this infernal itching???

AlpinePony · 02/03/2011 09:21

Kate Is he trying to stop his nuts getting over-heated and prevent the boy from having fertility problems over the next 4 months? Wink Olive oil for your cheeks.

SilverSky · 02/03/2011 09:45

alps I could try!!!!

costa too right I am not a big fluid fan and struggle but in early days of bf'ing I could gave sunk a PnO Cruise Liner easily!

Child refusing to nap in cot this morning. Fucksticks. So now have him in my arms on our bed. Wide awake to Z city in less than 3mins. Sheesh. So do I sit here for 30mins or try the stealth "lap to cot" move? Could be disastrous!

Right o'wise ones. Turns out new baby group I go has the pox. But this was last week and as you know I gave it a miss this week and MB is ok. Anyone know what the incubation period is etc? Cos also I have preggo friends I need to eat cake catch up with and I know it's v dangerous for babies in tums. Pls to share your knowledge.

rollerbaby · 02/03/2011 11:03

Eek silver I'd steer clear for a good week or so. Maybe call gp and check?

The thirst! I had forgotten that. I would be like the gobi desert almost immediately and screAm at mr moo to bring water. Better now thank god. Also Physio said I was drinking too much hence leaking a little so have to do ladylike sips now instead of downing pints as I am used to. Years of drinking like a fish will do that to you.

Well we are outside swimming with baby asleep in back. Was taking no chances and drove around a bit with him. Turns out okie has her lesson right after me which means unfortunately for her she is going to see me squeezed into a size 12 cozzie. I look like a beanbag wrapped in clingfilm. It's either that or my mat cozzie which my boobs float out of. Fucksake. I need to hurry the fuck up and lose a stone.

Clunky could you try sudocrem?

Alps do we have a date for a mass fesh meet when you're over? Remind me please as I mostly cannot remember what day it is.

I have just had a look in gina after ignoring her for a few months. Turns out we should be doing 4 hourly now. I am going to try and impose my will on Babymoo as getting fed up with snacky feeds and also waking just before 5. Need to get on track me thinks.

SilverSky · 02/03/2011 11:50

moo I was wondering the same about feeding. Surely that means that they effectively drop a feed? Troo?

PollyPoo · 02/03/2011 11:55

Silv google dr says incubation period for chicken pox is 10-20 days. You are infectious from 1-5 days before the rash appears, until 4-5 days after. Grim!

Moo enjoy the swim, I hope babyMoo has a very long sleep afterwards - hopefully all that activity will knacker him out.

Sounds like Bear had a fab time at nursery Alps.

I have managed to get BB to sleep in her cot with the aid of the white noise app! I should be in the kitchen making summat for dinner later but I have no appetite and therefore no inspiration. Maybe I will just curl up with a book instead. Grin

Cunty how did Rastus get on yesterday? Did all the changes and activity mean he slept better last night?

Muse I think when BB was about 9 days old we had a period of about 5 days where she fed every two hours. And each feed would take about an hour. It did my head in as I felt trapped on the sofa unable to do anything or go anywhere. It does get better though, honest.

BTW, now that I am FF, does anyone want a hardly-used Medela Mini breastpump, 4 bottles and two teats? Total cost was £85 in mothercare. Open to offers!

SilverSky · 02/03/2011 12:54

AIBU to not bother changing my top? Even if it's freshly covered in baby wee?

AlpinePony · 02/03/2011 12:54

Help. I'm very confused about car seats. Confused Finally dug my head out of the sand yesterday and realised that Bear is nearly big enough (9kg) for the toddler maxi-cosi which is currently on sale at 99 euros. In my head he was not 9 months/9 kg until waaaaaaay in to the future. Blush At which point of course they would no longer be on sale.

Anyway, flicking through the highway code this morning I saw that until the baybees are 13kg they are supposed to be rear-facing else they could break their necks during a head-on collision. How the flip does that work with the forward facing toddler seat? I was hoping to utilise the new, big seat driving back to the UK because it sits up and reclines and of course he's bursting out of the baby one.

honey I'm planning to be arriving in sarf east lahndan on the 30th (weds) of March. I will be driving down from Wales in the morning.

CUNextTuesday · 02/03/2011 12:58

Oh no poo. He slept worse than ever, despite the cm confidently predicting he would see the 12 hrs through. I did this face Hmm and lo it came to pass.
