CurlyCasper · 27/03/2011 21:33

well, good to hear it drom. Your absence has been noticed, and your presence is definitely a sign of improvement. Smile

I think they all hate tummy time at first - but once they start to like it there is no stopping them.

Squeaks slept on her tummy for the first time I am aware of last night. Was very cute - as if she'd got up to crawl around the cot and just conked out. That is very rare; normally once she's on all fours she's off until I go in and force her back onto her back.

Right, off to make milk and start the long road to bedtime.

rollerbaby · 27/03/2011 22:05

hello hello. tummy time is not too bad in this house, although different matter in the bed when he wails. Fortuantely not happened at night yet - just first thing this morning! I was expected a bloody lie in, but he woke up at 6am/7am (new time) which was a bit of a surprise, but can't complain really I suppose. God how quickly your expectations change eh.

Massive congrats to Medee whose mini me is gorgeous... lovely pics.

Drom, you are sounding v relaxed and like you are getting on really well which is lovely to hear. About the hour long sessions, if I think babymoo is taking his time (once he's slowed right down) I tend to pull away, as though I'm going to take the nipple out but I don't, and then he clamps down and speeds up if you see what I mean.

Curly, good luck for nursery tomorrow... no clue on transition. I've still got the bottle issue to deal with. Sleep is main priority and I'm saving that one for later...

FannyPriceless · 27/03/2011 22:48

Well done to medee!! Brilliant news.Grin

curls We also send whatever she needs for going outside to play. At this time of year that means warm hat and coat as well as sun hat and sun cream. Hope it goes well!

Have just filled in census. For Clyde's answer to 'what is your main language?' I was a bit stumped.Confused Is 'Baby' a recognised language?

CUNextTuesday · 27/03/2011 22:50

casp i can't get rastus to drink out of anything but a bottle, and because i'm a lazy kind parent i've never forced the issue. We also have every conceivable cup in the house. Total waste of money for the most part.

Ref nursery. Advise more than one change of clothes, bottle of choice and toothbrush or mouth cleaner scrubby thing. Rastus never drunk A Thing till i took his bottle to the cm, we were all quite worried for a while.

Thanx to okes for stepping in re FESH meet. I am suitably chastened, but not put off from any future hosting. Just finished writing presentation for interview on tues. What a load of cods it is Grin

rollerbaby · 27/03/2011 23:00

Good luck cunty

CurlyCasper · 28/03/2011 07:40

well, it's looking like a nursery no-go. squeaks is not so squeaky but very sore-throaty, hoarse and crying every ti,me she clears her throat. not the best time to ditch her. And I don't think they'll want her.

Thansk for tips. Good luck with iview Cunty.

Backinthebox · 28/03/2011 08:12

Hello and back from hollibobs! Will try and catch up when Mr Resistor lets me! Yes, we have 2 tempers in the house now. Hmm

CurlyCasper · 28/03/2011 10:51

welcome back box. Bet you need a restful holiday now.

Well, I'm not sure it's her throat at all. She's all rattly in the chest and every so often starts crying with really harsh sounds on inward breaths but no cough as such. She gets very distressed with it. But after each episode ebbs away she's back to being hyperactive and her usual self. One minute I'm laughing t her and the next I'm considering phoning 999.babies, eh, who'd have them?

SilverSky · 28/03/2011 12:39

Good luck rubytues!!!

Welcome back boxy! Look forward to hearing about the thrills and spills of skiing avec bombadini's AKA small people.

Tonight is the night laydee's. MB is going in his own room. Let's all pray for an easy transition. Typical MIL is coming over so I may have to postpone til tmw as don't need the aggro helpful comments.

CurlyCasper · 28/03/2011 14:58

Great, I now suspect croup. Off to the doctor this afternoon. Looks like we might be missing out on tomorrow's FESH meet. Sad

Good luck with the room move silv. He'll be fine. Even more so if you send MIL to sleep in the shed. Wink

FannyPriceless · 28/03/2011 15:11

Sad for curlygirl. Hope the doctor is some help.

curls Just after I sent you that text about tomorrow Clyde did a supersonic mahoosive vomit all over him, me, the sofa, the carpet and all the toys on the floor in front of us. Have only just got us both changed (found he also had runny poo up front and backShock) and he is now zonked out asleep. This was the fourth change of clothes today so I think I can no longer deny he is actually sick.

So alps if you are out there we are also looking a bit dodgy for tomorrow's rendezvous.Sad We're a sorry lot, aren't we?

CurlyCasper · 28/03/2011 15:30

i have texted alps but suspect she's busy driving. Will message again after doc.
Sorry about the vom fanny

Cosmosis · 28/03/2011 16:31

muse yeah she will get more efficient, Artie takes about 5 mins now and I miss all the sitting down and tv watching!!

He is currently at CMs again, but I got a call to go to him as he wouldn't settle. He still wouldn't settle when I got there, but we finally concluded it was teef, rubbed his gums and administered calpol and that sorted him. Poor mite he is not happy.

I won't be around much any more. Off to my dad's till Friday and then back at work next week. :(

CurlyCasper · 28/03/2011 17:26

don't go cossie!

well, I'm glad I followed my instincts By the time I got to doc's squeaker's temp was sky high so she's an antibiotics now.. Doc said it sounded like croup too.

So that's me out for tomorrow. gutted, but this virus should not be shared.

Okiecokie · 28/03/2011 21:26

Sorry to hear about all these poorly children, tis pants.

Cos how are you feeling about going back? I think once you know Artie is more settled with the CM it will be a bit easier.

Welcome back box. How was the holiday?

Backinthebox · 28/03/2011 23:03

Right. Finally got a few minutes on the old laptop to myself!

Firstly, congrats to Medee. And I will get back through the thread to read what everyone else has been up to. It seems lots of babies are poorly, and people going back to work - eek!

The holiday was nice. Ish. I bloody hate self catering, even if it is in my own house. I hate getting to my own house which has been used by other people (has to pay for itself somehow!) only to find various bits of it have been trashed, although it was OK to find someone had left a brand new pair of salopettes behind in my size. I would love to know who fucked up the door lock though, I really would. I'd have a few choice words to say to them! And where did all those beer mugs and shot glasses come from? Confused

Anyway - TT was hilarious on the slopes. She refused to take part in the Snow Garden sessions I enrolled her in, even with my mum shuffling along behind her. So we took her out of them and tried to teach her ourselves. She loved 'scooter skiing' which entailed having only one ski on. She wouldn't put both skis on at once, but gave them both a go on each foot before changing and putting the other one on. Weird. Then, on the last day, she put both skis on and we had to drag her off the nursery slope hours later crying with rage that we were spoiling her fun. I think she will be OK in classes next year Grin

LG was a big fat pain in the bottom. After being so smug about how much easier he was than TT to start with it turns out he just has other issues. Last week he got his first tooth. He also really started to tuck into his food - and what goes in has been going in way faster than it has been coming out. He is very bunged up atm, and this is causing him to be even grumpier than normal. He is also currently very frustrated he cannot crawl yet. He flips over and then lays there flapping his arms and legs and yelling in rage. He has to grab everything. The laptop is a favourite object of obsession and he throws himself at it whenever he sees it, hence why I cannot get on much atm. I reckon I am going to spend much of the next few years saying 'don't touch. DON'T touch, ffs!' On the plus side he has stopped the nighttime snacking, and is STILL charming all the girls. On the other downside, he has developed a formidable resistance to sleeping during the day, even when he is wailing with exhaustion. He is terrified he misses something!

So there we go. My kids - a 24hr work-creating tag team.

CurlyCasper · 29/03/2011 07:24

god that sounds like a challenge - LG sounds like Squeaker but at least I have only one to deal with.

Has anyone heard from alps? i've been texting and FBing and not heard back. i hope she and Bear are ok and they don't end up alone in a restaurant in the arse end on nowhere at noon.

We had a rough night. Put SFF in spare room so Squeaker could come in with me. by bedtime she was refusing both Calpol and milk. She had an episode of croup every hour or so, and couldn't stand to be touched wile crying and barking. But thankfully each time she calmed down she snuggled in beside me. It reminded me so much of when I had whooping cough. (was 11 so remember wll).

Anyway, I'm going to try to get us back to sleep for a bit.

FannyPriceless · 29/03/2011 10:47

curls I have checked all communication devices and have no word from alps either. I am stuck at home with washing machine on over time washing sicky clothes and bedding, Clyde on his third change of vommy clothes already today, and Bonnie tearing around the house in a blue fairy costume on hyper drive. (But it has now gone quiet upstairs so I expect to find something dreadful when I check on her. Last time it was a metanium spreading spree.Hmm) I am ignoring for 5 mins while I MN.

I would much rather be doing a FESH meet up.Sad So sorry alps. Second time I have stood you up now. Will we ever get to meet?

Hope Squeaks gets better soon too.

Welcome back boxer.

cossie Surely being back at work means more opportunity to MN?Wink

CurlyCasper · 29/03/2011 12:05

Thanks Fan and Sad to the sickness.

I feel so bad about today, but would hate to be responsible for passing this directly to Bear and indirectly to all the London Esh babies.

FannyPriceless · 29/03/2011 12:39

curls yes, crap about today. Have you received any confused texts from alps yet along the lines of 'where the fecking hell are you?'.

When are you likely to be able to try Squeaks at nursery again?

When I finally checked on what Bonnie was doing earlier she was sitting quietly on the bathroom floor reading a book of nursery rhymes.Shock She said 'No Mummy, leave Bonnie alone' so I did. Currently eating a huge lunch of chicken and leek risotto and grapes. I luffs my children.

CurlyCasper · 29/03/2011 13:18

not a word fan. i keep worrying that something might be up at her end too. Either that or alps is just mightiliy peeved.

That's cute of Bonnie! i'm feeling pretty grotty myself now and can't seem to get warm, so in bed with book and phone, while Squeaks is in her cot.she's due to do another half day on Tuesday 5th, when I am at work. Bit gutted that I won't be doing the lunchtime pick up TBH.

FannyPriceless · 29/03/2011 13:34

curls She's going to send us a list of how we need to make it up to her. I'm thinking a £500 Joules voucher, a pink horse rug, and a dozen bottles of Tanqueray.

Okiecokie · 29/03/2011 19:26

no word from alps here either and our meet is still supposed to be on tomorrow.

CurlyCasper · 29/03/2011 19:39

I am actually getting a bit worried. She hasn't updated FB or anything and I've triple checked the number she gave me. Hope nothing happened while she was on her way over to Britain. alps even if you are annoyed about today, please let us know you are ok.

Squeaker situation improved late afternoon. She had stopped eating and was drinking v little. Six hours with no wet nappy. But after lots of sleep and medication, and a luke warm shower to try to wash away the grogginess, she has been taking milk over the last couple of hours. and even a bit of plain pasta. Temp still high, but lower than yesterday. Croup eased but she now has a very wet cough and streaming nose. Guess that's the infection leaving her wee body. I'm exhausted, but I guess this is what we've signed up for for the next 18 years+.

Sorry that was probably quite boring, but worrying about my daughter and Alps is pretty much all I've done today. (and watched CBeebies and read a book)

PollyPoo · 29/03/2011 20:23

Hope Alps is ok, that is rather worrying that no-one has heard from her.

Casp I'm glad that Squeaker is a little better. It is so worrying when they are that poorly.
