OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
yankeedoodledo · 12/07/2011 21:44

Hi! Do you like my new MN name? I'm sure you can guess who I am [hgrin]?

Actually just trying out my name AND the new Harry Potter smileys.

Hope everyone is well. x

omnomnomtom · 13/07/2011 18:09

everything crossed for you belgina sending sticky thoughts your way

DS1 watching Charlie and Lola with the biggest grin on his face- so sweet
DS2 asleep in my arms - should go and make dinner but don't want to wake him Grin

belgina · 14/07/2011 08:28

Yankee, is there a clue in your name? Cos otherwise I don't know. I'm so bad at guessing these name changes.

All well here. Nausea slowly creeping in, frequent loo visits and that twinge of SPD still there. Really need to book myself in with the osteo. No further pink loss so far.

yankeedoodledo · 14/07/2011 21:51

hi Belgina hope you're doing ok. yes, clue in the name [hwink]. have 3dds with youngest having a fab name now stolen by a pointless sleb. boo.
those hints help?

yankeedoodledo · 14/07/2011 21:53

omnomnomtom, what a lovely moment that must have been, sigh. I love those moments. sigh.

belgina · 14/07/2011 21:58

Yankee... I knew it was you Grin. Love the new name. There was something on Newsround on CBBC about where that slebs baby's name came from and I thought "No, you're all wrong. They stole it from yankeedoodle Grin"

All still well here. My holiday is annoyingly just as I'll be 6 weeks, the earliest they can scan, so I hope it'll all stay ok while I'm out in France. I'm slightly dissapointed I wont be able to drink. Hols aren't quite the same without DH and I sharing a bottle of vino while keeping warm by the bbq

yankeedoodledo · 14/07/2011 22:08

Belg, where did they get the name Harper from? They CAN'T be fans of TKAM and Harper lee. That would make them a bit, um, cultured (I suppose). [hshock]

belgina · 14/07/2011 22:30

Apparently the boys chose it. It's the name of a character in a tv show they like (forgot which show though)

yankeedoodledo · 14/07/2011 22:31

sigh, hopefully the excitement about the name will die down now.

belgina · 15/07/2011 07:59

Sure it will. Smile

Woofsaidtheladybird · 15/07/2011 11:00

Didn't 'posh' once admit to never having ever read a book?

Yankee - lovely name!

Belgina - thats great news!! Grin - hope things are coming along nicely.

Flip - woooh not long now! Whens your actual due date?

omnom - M loves Charlie and Lola too. In fact, anything on cbeebies. I really am a crapmummy, I have the telly on too much. She loves Show me Show me, even goes berserk when you have to 'show your groovy moves', and tries to 'freeze' with a really cheesy teethy smile. Bonkers. BUT she's very good at jigsaws, colouring (especially the wall and piano stool) and can count from 1 to 10. Actually, its really 2 to 10, as I always say 1 then she carries on, IYSWIM. She also does like to sit on the potty but only to fart (!!), but she does say when she's done a poo. Other than that, there's no interest, apart freom wearing it as a hat.

Thanks re the sympathies with my Mum. She's still not talking to me. She's been in hospital for a tummy ultrasound and colonoscopy as she's had trouble pooing, and they removed some polyps. She's convinced she's got bowel cancer now, on top of the lump in her breast she had removed earlier on in the year. I am finding it so hard to be nice and sympathetic towards her when she is so downright bloody rude to me. She then goes on to blame her moods on 'everything she is going through' - no Mum, you have been an argumentative, manipulative moo for ages. Sorry. Slap me now.

Have been doing research re birth. I know its AGES away, but my mw is referring me to an obstetrician re ? a c section cos of my gammy hip. I've been paying into BUPA for years because of my hip, and now it seems that if I have a c/s I may be covered for that too. My nearest place to go would be the Portland in London. Do any of you have any experience / know of anyone who has been there? I worked there about 15 years ago, and it seemed very nice, but that was only on the childrens ward. I know all the slebs go there... just doing a bit of digging around.... they've got a good SCBU / NICU there, and my baby would be covered under my insurance if anything went wrong (God forbid). Seeing m/w next week so I guess I'll chat to her about it.... also got M's 2 year check on Monday Hmm - better late than never, I spose.

Can anyone tell I'm sitting in clinic, waiting for my patients who aren't turning up - as per usual??!!

omnomnomtom · 16/07/2011 22:32

lol at 'They CAN'T be fans of TKAM and Harper lee. That would make them a bit, um, cultured' Grin And fwiw Harper is a fab name and you were there first.

Woof J watches too much CBeebies too, he even sings the theme tune (Cbeebies, cbeebies) when he wants the telly on! But he also plays outside a lot and I do make the effort to do painting, reading, jigsaws etc with him too so I don't feel guilty about it. M sounds great doing her 'groovy moves'- very cute.

Rory has started smiling and 'ah-gooing' - beautiful Smile

omnomnomtom · 25/07/2011 10:38

did I kill the thread?

...

Or are you all too busy sunbathing/potty training/ttc/toddler-taming (delete as appropriate)

TheMitfordsMaid · 27/07/2011 15:15

Grin looks like it.

All tumbleweed in these parts!

Woofsaidtheladybird · 28/07/2011 15:42

More like toddler taming with me. M is constantly saying 'NO mummy'. Its bloody knackering.

flippineck · 30/07/2011 12:13

Sorry! Too busy stopping the girls fighting...they seem to be going through a very heavy handed phase Confused. And I can't move very quickly to break it up....5 weeks to go Shock

Woofsaidtheladybird · 01/08/2011 14:59

Five weeks!!!!

Shock
runningmonkey · 04/08/2011 10:54

Hello! Lost you all again

belg hope all ok

flip 5 weeks! Hope it goes quickly. Am v impressed to see on fb you made it to a festival with two dc and a bump

woof my friend had her DD at the Portland and says it was fab. Was a VB though not a CS if that makes a difference.

Hello everyone else.

omnom hows it going? Tiring here as DD has back molars coming through and we are attempting potty training (more later). DS is v cute and giggly but not sleeping well - think it's partly cos he doesn't get enough kip during the day when DD is around and her usual noisy self - she seems to think that DS likes having his name said repeatedly right into his face Hmm. To prove a point, DS has been asleep since 9.30 and DD is at her cm's! DD does sit next to me with her baby doll up her tshirt while I bf DS though which is v cute. She even needs to have a blanket folded under her elbow like I do :)

potty training has started gently here after cm and I talked about it. We have DD in pull ups (found some great washable ones by bright bots) and have been sitting her on the loo at regular intervals through the day and getting some results. She refuses to poo on potty or toilet though and goes to hide somewhere to do it! She has started in the last week telling us she needs a wee but it is usually just too late to get to the loo (currently refusing to use the potty at all). Will keep going with this gentl approach I think at least until we get back from out camping trip in a fortnight.

one piece of exciting news from the monkey household is that DH is applying for a job back in my hometown. We havent talked about it to anyone as he thinks it's a long shot that he will get it and keeps telling me not to get excited but I can't help it. I sooooo want to move back there!

Ah DS stirs, about time to, feel like I'm going to explode!

omnomnomtom · 11/08/2011 14:59

hello all!
running we are lucky here as DS2 is a good sleeper- but we have the same problem with DS1 waking him during the day. We had 2 weeks of general grumpiness due to a cold but he seems to be back to his smiley self now. So cute about your DD bfing her doll, here DS1 is interested but when I tried to explain it to him he said 'NO not milk mummy -not milk' ! He is also constantly trying to feed DS2 things. Yesterday he dropped grapes everywhere and then told me the baby had done it! Fingers crossed your DH gets the job- ever since having kids I have had a longing to move back to Cornwall where I grew up and my family still live but there haven't been any Occupational Therapy jobs advertised down there Sad We have spoken about starting our own business down there instead but I worry that would mean long hours working and I'm not willing to do that as it would take me away from the kids too much so for now we are stuck here

flip how are you? Not long to go!

belgina · 15/08/2011 21:48

Hi everyone.

Looks like this thread might win the slowest moving thread ever award Wink

Bad news from me again here. I misc on the very first day of our hols. There was no mistaking what was happening. It was very dissapointing and unexpected, but on the other hand I saw it as a chance toeat plenty of French unpasturised goats cheese and drink wine.
It's made me happy that I have had my 1st babies relatively early as I'm pretty sure that mine and dh's age (46) are a factor. I'm hoping for 3rd time lucky. EPAC told me that in our area things dont get investigated until I get 4 misc!

woof how are things with you?

flip not long to go now! That's gone so quick!

I'm on the app, so can't remember exactly who wrote what Blush

No potty training yet here. I've got a 5 day stretch of time off coming up and will give it a go then. Not sure whether C's language is developped enough though. She understands everything (in 3 languages!), but barely ever talk more than a few words.

running (I hope it was you anywayBlush). Great news about the move. Hope you find a job soon.

A big wave to everyone else I haven't nc'ed

belgina · 15/08/2011 21:54

Sorry I knew I had it wrong. omnom it's you who's moving. BlushBlushBlush My memory has suffered seriously from baby brain.

flippineck · 16/08/2011 12:26

Hello all!

Belgina, I'm so sorry to hear your news, hope the future brings good things.

All fine here, I'm just feeling tired and enormous. I really need this baby to be on time, DD1 starts school the week after my due date! The girls were both on time, so I'm optimistic this one will be too Grin.

SESthebrave · 17/08/2011 09:03

Belgina - so sorry to hear of your mc :(
Fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky for you.

I still find it strange how different areas have different guidelines for so many health issues. I'm "fortunate" that tests are being done after 3 mc. Having said that, I phoned the EPU to say I'd not heard anything and they said it wasn't up to them to follow up but they'd find out what should be happening. They then phoned back and said I needed a gynae appointment which got me worried in case something is wrong. They said I'm booked in for an appointment on 19th Sept and that a letter would be in the post. That was 10 days ago and I've not had a letter yet!

Flip - FX your new LO understands the instruction "on time please!"

Ommnom - I did laugh at your DS blaming the baby! That will prove more difficult for you in a couple of years when they are both blaming eachother!

Running - hope your move comes off!

Woof - hope all's going well with you? How many weeks are you now?

potty training - I think we're a long way off. DS seems to think having to stop playing to have his nappy changed is a complete waste of time to the extent that if I smell something and ask if he has a dirty nappy he says "No Mummy" and pushes me away from him!

Life otherwise has been pretty busy. We had DH's 40th birthday which involved a trip to the ILs in Ireland and also a surprise party back here that I'd organised for him. I got asked to cover for my boss for 2.5 weeks at work which was good but hectic! I had some days when I thought I was doing ok and some days when I thought I was a complete muppet!

Anyway, that's enough from me for now! Hello to everyone else :)

pikachu999 · 19/08/2011 19:54

belgina - sorry to hear of your mc - when I saw on FB that you had gained weight on your holiday I was hoping things were progressing OK and not just holiday diet.

omnom - I'm sure my DD did the same when DS1 was a baby and like ses says it will continue for many years to come and get harder Wink although with DS1 he doesn't really lie so I can usually take his word for what happened and not DDs Hmm

flip- wow can't believe you are nearly due now. Fingers crossed DC3 makes an appearance on time.

woof- when i was expecting DS1 I think I used to watch "portland babies" or something like that on discovery H&H channel. It looks like a great place to have a baby Envy - the staff were very attentive, rooms were like hotel rooms, you got a special meal with fizz for you and DH after having the baby (although I guess that might have to wait a day or 2 after a cs).

I am just back from a week's holiday and feeling great for it although it has been hard work. My new job is not so bad although it involves travelling to London a day a week (and DH starts a new job soon and will be doing 2 days a week in London) so family life will be a juggling act. My Dad has not been too good but am really hoping his course of radiotherapy will be enough to beat the big C. He has one more week of a 5 week course to go and has been an inpatient this week and will be again next week as he hasn't been too well with the treatment so is back on a drip/monitors.

pikachu999 · 19/08/2011 19:58

ses - I forgot to say I hope your appointment comes through soon and that you get some good luck soon or that the medical profession find a way to help you in the future.
