Ses - Another one with similar iron tablet experiences. This was during my pregnancy with ds. I vowed to try and avoid them ever since and failed miserably Hmm Though Spatone worked a little, but obviously not enough. Good idea to have some time with just you and DH. Must be hard to just go back to work like that though.

Woof - I keep thinking the same. In fact our plans in terms of the house were all planned with me going on mat leave soon and now we're having a slight problem with C being as tall as she is, we can't see the cot lasting her all that long anymore, but there's nowhere else for her to go until we stop having an au pair and that wont happen until I go on mat leave Confused

Odd affair your db's wedding. But I suppose it's what they wanted and as long as they had a nice time that's all that counts. Sounds like a nice trip you've got planned too. Hope it'll be nice and relaxing for you.

Flip (nearly called your other name Blush) Glad you had a nice, if exhausting, time with your parents.

The good news here is that this week AF finally returned properly. My goodness has the recovery from my misc been a very long haul. Hopefully we can start TTC properly now.

Just need to share some funny words C has come up with:

The ouch = hairbrush
A bleurgh (including disgusted face) = nappy
A sssssss = a fly

Especially the 1st one made me giggle when I first heard her use it. She never actually complains when I brush her hair, but it seems that it must hurt her, because it's an ouch Grin

belgina · 12/06/2011 23:06

Loooky what I can do: MN from the new MN app! Sooo much easier on my phone now. You never know, I might actually keep up a bit more now Grin

hotcrossSES · 14/06/2011 21:47

Blotted - thank you for your post. It is rubbish but unfortunately part of ttc for far too many couples.

I meant to ask whether anyone has experience of Karyotyping? Because this was my 3rd mc, they're going to do some tests. It may take 3-4 weeks for the results to come through though.

I'm just hanging on now for a BFN so we can then start to think about ttc again. It will entail a huge risk of further mc but I really want DS to have a sibling or two and as I'm now 38, we can't really hang around.

Belgina - I'm pleased your AF has returned. I can't imagine the frustration of how long it's taken but great it's here and you can focus on ttc again soon.
Oh sorry to see your news on FB about your grandmother too. I hope you can draw comfort from the fact that she passed away peacefully in her sleep.

I must investigate the new MN app!

belgina · 15/06/2011 10:53

ses no experience with karyotyping. But I think it's useful to investigate recurrent misc as sometimes there's a good reason and things can be done to improve your chances with future pregnancies. I meet quite a few mums who finally acheived a FT pregnancy after being started on treatment as investigations discovered a condition of some sort. I hope you get your BFN soon. The wait is horrendous, isn't it?

I had a USS yesterday. My ovaries and womb look in perfect condition, so hoping for a BFP in the near future Grin

Thanks for all the messages re my gm. It came as a shock as she was pretty healthy despite her age. It's not been a good year for my family in this respect really and we fear that this might have contributed to my gm's death. In the space of 3 months she lost her son, her best friend in the care home and then last week her niece (who's funeral is today Sad)
So now tomorrow I'm going back home for yet another funeral. May it be the last one for a while now or I wont have any family left...

TheMitfordsMaid · 21/06/2011 12:32

Hello.

Hellooooo.

Helloooooooooooo.

Blottedcopybook · 21/06/2011 14:22

Did somebody say something?

momino · 21/06/2011 20:40

Heyyyy! It's awfully quiet in here.
I'm sorry I've not been on here for awhile. Ses how are you? Been thinking of you and hope you're well.
Belgina, so sorry for all your loss in the family. x
Everyone else, how are you???

OP posts:
flippineck · 22/06/2011 08:13

Hello! Is everyone ok?

Sorry, not been around - am generally shattered. Fine, but tired. Mammoth hospital day last week, was a long day but everything was fine, GTT all clear, bloods all fine, iron good, MW appt all ok.

A is turning into a noisy chatty little thing, some days she does not stop talking. Absolutely no idea what she's talking about mostly but she is quite cute! Sleep is better again, but the girls are both up for the day at around 6, bit too early really.

Anyone up to anything interesting?

flippineck · 22/06/2011 08:16

Ses - no experience of tests ('only' had two MCs), but hope that the future brings good things for you all.

Belgina - glad the USS was all clear, and good luck with the TTC.

Woofsaidtheladybird · 22/06/2011 18:42

Hi Ses - I don't have any experiences in karyotyping on the ante-natal front, only in newborns. Have they said that they could there be anything they are looking for in particular? I just thought that mc's often are linked to chromosomal 'abnormalities' (please excuse the crude medical term) rather than the sex - thats what the Drs told me back in February, anyway - although I have come across in my practice XO (Turners), XXY (Klinefelters), and very rarely XXXY - once this starts happening its a type of 'disorder of sexual differentiation' - DSD - or Intersex as it used to be known. Email me if you want to chat some more about it.

Belgina - great news on your USS Smile

We came back from our swanky mini break in Hong Kong yesterday. Loved, loved, loved it but missed M terribly. What a wimp. Back to work tomorrow, bleh. Am also 12 weeks tomorrow. Met the MW today, which was mostly form filling in and all that. Scan and bloods on Monday. Please all cross your fingers for me. Am terrified...

Oh and M has been invited to a '2 year check roadshow' - in July!

flippineck · 23/06/2011 10:14

Woof, your break sounds lovely! Bleurgh to work indeed. Hope everything goes ok on Monday, thinking of you.

smokeybacon · 23/06/2011 14:38

Oooh. Trying out the mn app. Maybe this will mean I can be a bit better at catching up!

ses what a time of it you've had. Sad

woof v jealous of your swanky HK break. It's somewhere I would love to visit. It looks so vibrant! Tbh though even a two hour flight without kids would seem like a holiday to me!

All well here. Can you believe the twins are nearly 8 months now?? No , me either. They are so so good. They eat, sleep and smile beautifully! Rufus is still a joy but is prone to the odd almighty strop. He is an early riser too. 5.30am on average. Consequently I am knackered despite 5 to 6 hrs sleep a night.

I have to do a proper catch up I think before posting next. But good to be back!!Grin

runningmonkey · 25/06/2011 12:29

Hellooo, just bookmarking as I lost you all. V tired Shock (that's a yawn btw] but all good here.

Hope all are ok x

TheMitfordsMaid · 03/07/2011 21:49

BOO!

Blottedcopybook · 04/07/2011 11:29

Whhhyyyyy did I boast that Greer was the easiest baby/toddler ever?! Over the last week, she hasn't been in bed before midnight and has decided that she has to be RIGHT BESIDE ME at all times. It's terribly endearing and very cute but I need some sleep!

Woofsaidtheladybird · 04/07/2011 17:52

Tis the law of sod, innit, blotted!!

So my 12 week scan went ok - they re-dated me to 13+3, so I'm now actually 14+3. Nuchal fold thingy small, nasal bone present etc. All my bloods have gone off to Oxford to calculate my Downs risk and I should hear this week. Fingers crossed, though, things are looking ok so far. Still, my new EDD is 30 Dec, and I may be having an elective CS because of my gamy hip, which would probably happen a week or so before? So that's Christmas, which I think is lovely, but my MOTHER is being a complete moo to me right now. When I told her that, she said 'trust you to ruin everyone's christmas' to which I replied 'no-one need be bothered, really, do they' and she then had a go at ME for my rude attitude! We had M's christening yesterday which was lovely, but mum ruined it for me. We had a little party back at ours, and mum made a VERY clear point in ignoring my ILs (just as she did at our wedding) and even told one of my best friends - also godmother to M - that she looked like a hussy, because she was walking around the garden with a bottle of wine - to offer more drinks to people!! We're supposed to be staying at theirs in a few weekends time as we're going to a wedding in Devon and they were going to look after M. DH now refuses to go there, and says we'll take M with us and find a hotel. I am agreeing with him. DH is furious and I am ridiculously upset and can't stop blubbing about it. My brothers just tell me to relax, it's just 'my turn' - she is always in a strop with one of us. I just think she needs to bloody grow up. Ggggrrrrrr.

There. Rant over. Soz. Blush

flippineck · 05/07/2011 12:11

Woof, I'm so glad that everything seems to be ok with the pg, fingers crossed that the next few months go smoothly. But wtf at your mother? Blimey! Easy to say, hard to do, I know, but ignore her.

Blotted, you know what I'm going to say, don't you ....it's a phase Wink. Draining, however long it lasts.

All fine here, nothing to report really. 31 weeks now! That's not long to go. Planning home birth, and trying to work out the logisitcs of the girls. DD1 starts school in September, I can't believe it. She's excited and nervous; I'm proud and worried. She looks so grown up in her uniform!

omnomnomtom · 05/07/2011 16:44

Hello all!

Woof glad your scan was ok and Shock at your mum I can't believe she has told you off for ruining Xmas!
Blotted Jake can be a night owl too- he doesnt stay up with us but we can still hear him chatting away to himself until late in the evening.
Belgina the ouch- how cute! Jake does the 'bleurgh' too but he says it when his hands are mucky. His favourite word at the mo is copkamama (helicopter)!
flippin 31 weeks, that has gone fast! Hope you are feeling fab and blooming Grin
ses hope the tests provide you with some answers that can help with future pg

He is doing really well and starting to lose his baby features and look more like a proper little boy. He is mostly ok around his little brother but occasionally a bit rough with him. Rory is a very relaxed baby though and doesn't seem too fazed by it!
Am thinking that I should be starting potty training but he doesnt seem ready. He has also decided to go back to mostly eating with his hands after eating with a fork for ages- no idea why but we are just letting him get on with it!
Rory is now nearly 5 weeks and I feel very lucky to have such a laid back baby- he looks exactly like Jake did at the same age. All going well so far although there has been one horrendous trip to the supermarket where both of them wailed all the way round and I ended up bfing Rory whilst pushing the trolley up and down the aisles (just to be clear he wasn't in the trolley at that point! Grin ).

momino · 07/07/2011 21:49

hi all.
Good to see you all, I'm terrible at keeping up on MN. Tend to scan more at FB and Twitter. I hate most of MN anyway that has become so pretentious and showy and false except really miss our cozy thread.

Woof, glad all is well and may the rest of your pg be happy and healthy! echoing the WTF at your mother!
flippin, I can't believe you're 31 weeks! That's how long it's been between posting here!
Ses how are you? I hope you're doing ok.
Hi also to Blotted, Belgina, omnom, running, mitford, smokey... Everyone!

All ok here but H has learnt to whinge and tantrum quite impressively. She had been such a placid baby but now showing her moods, opinion, etc. she's also a bit constipated (bless) so her grumbling has been mainly around her crampy tummy. I hope this phase passes quickly!

pottytraining, H constantly tellsme when she's filled/wee'd her nappy and showing other signs of being ready to potty train. I thought I'd wait till dd1's school finishes and try then. Not sure I have the patience though.

still working around the children, mostly at night so off I'd better go so I can get some sleep tonight. Smokey, laughing at your 'despite 5-6 hours of sleep...' I need at least 8 (!) but alas usually get only 6 mainly because I'm up late working. I need to be more disciplined so will now logoff and hope everyone is well!
x

Hi everyone,

Looks like everyone is as good at keeping up as one another. Grin

woof your break sounded amazing! Shock at the speed of your pregnancy, but so glad it's all going ok at the moment Smile. Hmm at your mum's behaviour. How dare you get pg at such an inconsiderate time! My dd1 was due on xmas day. She came on the 27th and that year I had one of the most enjoyable xmasses ever. Everyone just waited on me Grin

momi I completely understand where you are coming from when you talked about what kind of place MN has become. A lot of threads often spiral down into ugly confrontations and I spend my time in a cosy little slingy forum nowadays :)

omnom cant believe your newest lo is 5 weeks already! He sounds like a dream baby :)

flip 31 weeks already! Amazing! Glad it's all going well.

Some news here too: I had a BFP today. I had a very short, light af: 1.5 days. Just like last pg, that ended in a misc, although that af was 3 days. I had a distinct feeling it might mean I was pg, but on fri I had 3bfns. Today I tried again and it's a bfp. I'm just a little worried now that that light period means that things are going to go the same way, so I'm not celebrating yet.

Hope everyone else I haven't nc'ed is ok too :)

momino · 10/07/2011 21:43

aw BElg TAke care! I'm o happy for your BFP. baby glue to you right away, x

belgina - sending sticky vibes your way. i was thinking of you when woof posted her scan photo last night andso it'd great to see your news.

momino -no potty training plans here- still not cracked it with ds1 age 4 so no rush although sometimes do think i should try and get it over with! s likes to sit on the petty but not for long and hasnt done anything yet.

apologies for bad typing as on phone.
woof- i think i got a toned downreaction from my mum when dd was due 20 Dec and i said i wasn't travellig. Dh and i stayed put and had a lovely relaxing time and like belgina dd was born on 27 December. but i am sure they will get you in early for your elms so you will be very busy [Grin]

flippineck · 11/07/2011 14:07

Belgina - very quiet congratulations. Keeping everything crossed for you and sending lots of sticky vibes!

Potty stuff - we hadn't planned to do anything after the long drawn out (ok, ongoing!) saga of DD1, but A is increasingly showing signs of maybe wanting to go for it - asking to use the toilet and delivering, enjoying nappy off time etc. We might try properly in a few weeks, I don't know if I've got the energy though [hblush].

belgina · 11/07/2011 14:45

Thanks everyone. I keep getting the od bit of pink tinged mucous, but do have a cervical erosion. I do feel more positive than last pg. With that one I just knew it wouldn't last the minute I found out, I didn't even feel the need to book in with the mw etc... This time around I do feel more positive. Hopefully it's a good sign. Also found a lovely thread about pink discharge and looks like pink ends more than often well and brown not...

belgina · 11/07/2011 14:46

Odd has got 2 d's of course, not one Blush
