cakes i have overhang because i'm fat and have had it since ds. Dont think your being precious about leaving A its just easier for us to leave R as she is ff

WhatSheSaid · 07/02/2011 01:47

I didn't say anything to the "big fat tummy" comment as I heard it while lying in bed trying desperately not to spew everywhere. Don't know if dh said anything - he gets as annoyed by them as I do (if not more so)

Also, I may be being a bit over-sensitive as "big fat tummy" is the kind of thing older people say to dc isn't it? Except they didn't really say it in a jokey way.

mlic i'm so with you. i've had it.

A's new 'routine' is to feed 11pm, 2am, 4am, 6am then wake F up so he was up for the day (v early for him) then because he's a horrible teething rat again, I woke her up by roaring at him so she didn't go back down either.

i just stomped to his room, turned the light on and chucked his milk in there and then attempted to get A back to sleep. no luck.

i'm actually feeling guilty now tho as he's played nicely for an hour in there and she's lay in her crib, wide wake but not crying.

right what do you reckon about A - a phase, growth spurt, a phase/spurt turning into habit or just habit?

she is properly feeding each time she's waking and then goes straight back to sleep in her crib.

going to be a great day... Sad

and on to more important matter so who was it that said they tumble dry their underwear? spirael?

every time i hang all ours out, i think 'there has to be a better way than this'

wss yes. older people do make remarks like that but it's usually very obviously it's it's affectionate and jokey. doesn't sound like what FIL said was.

Spirael · 07/02/2011 07:58

[wanders in] I tumble dry laundry because I'm just too lazy to hang up all those socks and pants. Wink

Obviously don't tumble dry bras though, and my underwear is all boring simple cotton, so doesn't care about being tumble dried or suffer particularly for it.

Periods have been back for me since about 4 months, despite BFing. Completely stopped BFing now though, and I think my milk has finally dried up. My body is mine again! Grin [Celebrates with... Lemsip] Hmm

Spirael · 07/02/2011 07:58

*laundry = underwear

Not awake yet. Blush

Stac2011 · 07/02/2011 08:08

i tumble dry underwear, bedding and towels but not bras.

R is another unsleeping baby I actually feel sick with tiredness. Dont understand why she wakes I dont feed her or lift her so have no idea why she wakes.

DesperateHousewife20 · 07/02/2011 08:10

Dylan doesnt have hair, he has very fine peach fluff all over his head but not actual hair

DP has gone to work today even though he doesnt feel well, he doesnt want to let them down. Well you're letting me down by going in when you're ill, making yourself feel worse rendering you useless at home.

Ive got some man coming to do a boiler check at 9. Better get dressed really.

memphis83 · 07/02/2011 08:40

mlic i have one of those drying things too!!
cakes i dont hang out my underwear i dont want neighbours seeing my smalls!! last year dh hung them out and i looked mad whipping them all off the line!! I 1st left L at 6 weeks over night, he goes tomy mums over night once a month ish and for the day once a week

Woodlands · 07/02/2011 09:26

No tumble dryer here which is a pain today, I have about four loads of washing to do. I'm thinking of hanging the sheets and towels out in the garden for the first time in a while since it's dry and mildish today, but that's a hassle as our flat is on the first floor so I'd have to take the washing down then come back up for J, and take a bouncy chair or something down for him to sit in.

No sign of a period here, not surprising as am still BFing every 3-4 hours day and night. Actually we had a pretty good night last night - asleep by 7.15, woke for some reason at 8ish but settled after a quick feed, then fed at 12.30 and again at 4.30, awake for the day at 7.45. Very civilised!

I've only ever left J for a max of 3-4 hours as he won't take milk from anything but me. I'm not too bothered now, it's only a few more months till he'll be BFing less so someone else can give him food and water.

Met up yesterday with my NCT lot including dads. We last all got together two months ago and then the babies were all lying on the floor gurgling - now they are all sitting up and interacting, pinching toys off each other, and some of them are even crawling! It was a bit chaotic!

tsc is £3 cheaper than tumble drying them at home?

bet it'd be double down here as everything is

mlic i've lost track of the things i've bought because of you now!

how does this sound? i'm going to try to make A have 2 hourly feeds in the day until she starts going longer at night again. At the mo, she's quite happy to go 3+ plus in the day, great if she's wasn't waking 2 hourly at night.

CakeandRoses · 07/02/2011 11:07

memphis seriously, please don't let me make you feel like a bad mother! i probably am being precious plus with bf it's also just the logistics which make it trickier.

there's no prizes for being a martyr Smile

Dylthan · 07/02/2011 12:17

Haven't left bethan for more than a couple of hours yet but that's only because I can't find anyone that will have her Wink

I tumble dry everything apart from bethan's nappies.

Periods aren't back yet I had like a small period about a week after the lochia stopped but nothing after that.

ARRRGGH.

Chulita · 07/02/2011 14:21

wws we have issues with ils and food too, mil is a 'feeder' so she buys loads of chocolate/cake and feeds L and DH and fil is obsessed with weight/fitness so is always nagging DH for being unfit - great combo as you can imagine. She also gives L food even if I've just told her she can't have it which goes down well. You have my sincere sympathies! and it's watermelon, what's that going to do to her Hmm as to 'big fat tummy' I hope you said something, if fil says anything to my dc about their weight he'll get an earful.

cake I got my period back when L was 9 months, haven't got it back yet with S.
I tumble DH's vests/boxers cos he can't stand them crispy (big tough soldier that he is) but not anyone else's undies.
My c-sec scar is thinner and whiter than the first one and a bit lower but it must be hard for them to cut exactly on top of the old one

We left L overnight when she was 7 months and left 5 bottles with 7-8oz of ebm but she only had 3 of them. Haven't left S but with his bottle phobia I couldn't anyway!
fwiw S did exactly what A seems to be doing and it lasted about 10 days. He's now going a lot longer between feeds so it was just another spurt I reckon. It will end!

stac I have overhang too, even when I was very fit I had a bit of a roll - just my body shape but now it's huge and ugly but I do need to lose a stone and tone up so I reckon it'll get smaller if I work at it. It's still numbish too.

cake re A's waking I would give her what she needs if she's full on feeding. S was full on feeding every 2 hours at night and 3 during the day, exactly the same. It was just over 10 days iirc and I was shattered but he obviously needed it.

tsc at least teenagers can wipe their own arses

memphis83 · 07/02/2011 15:14

chulita my mil would be a feeder too, she knows i am so against mcdonalds and she said when L is bigger she will take him and tell him not to tell me!!! i told her she wont ever be given the chance, I sectretly wish she does do something like that so i can cut the fruitloop from my life!!
cake i know it would be harder for me to leave L if i breastfed, i dont mind leaving him over night as i get a break and a sleep but hate it in the day as by the time i get home he is grumpy and tired, we are talking about opening another shop in the next year but that would mean me working for 5 days a weeks and him in nursery!! not sure i could tbh!!
mlic i wouldnt walk my dog in this weather!! that would be dh's job to walk the dog in the cold nights Grin think we will get one in spring but still not 100% sure yet.
is anyone doing anything for valentines we dont normally but dh is away next week so sunday is taking me to nottingham ice skating and then said somewhere for food and ive said Hooters, i think he was thinking somewhere classy!!! ive been gap and bought him some love heart boxers will wrap them then he will have to open them in front of workmates on monday!!! Grin
