Chulita · 31/01/2011 20:29

next question: is there any point going to bed tonight? I feel a bit despondent at the thought of it tbh

CakeandRoses · 31/01/2011 20:29

slapped cheeks disease:
Rash
Typically, the rash looks like a bright red scald on one or both cheeks. It looks as if the cheek(s) have been slapped. Sometimes there is just a blotchy redness on the face. The rash is painless.

Sometimes a more widespread faint rash appears on the body, arms, and legs. Occasionally, the rash on the face and body keeps fading and returning several times for up to four weeks. However, it is more common for the rash to come and go completely within a few days.

tsc's right about the post-viral rash too - that can look v bad but not be anything really

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 31/01/2011 20:30

chulita that's how i feel sometimes (not that A is even as bad as S and some of the others). I end up reading or Mnetting to a silly time when I could have been asleep

Yeah that was sam who's had it for 5 days. Ellie only has it since today. My gut feeling is telling me its nothing serious but then i dont want to be too relaxed about it either. Dp still not back with her so haven't seen her but if its still the same or worse in the morn i'll go to chemist.
Chulita was meant to say about slimming world earlier i find it brilliant. You should even get the books and get it explained to you. Even go and join a group and you get all your books on first night so you have everything you need then and there's loads of good forums and stuff online if you get stuck. And yes yiu should go to bed!"you may be surprised!
Tsc....yoga?!?!?! nuts and seeds?!?! he is really into this! has your sonoflove had solids in between this feeding marathon? i really take my hat of to those who are bf i dont know how you do it.
Mlic yeah it definately doesnt seem like an intolerance then. Hopefully the normal formula goes ok. What way are you giving him the cheese? really struggling to be inventive with ellies meals and want to vary it as much as possible.

tsc if you were married you could prob get a divorce referencing irreconcilable differences based on the seeds alone Grin

ok, we've been too quiet, must be time for a cake mini-survey (have put my answers in too)...

Baby age (eg closest to 6m, 6.5 months or 7m)
6m

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
no. She usually has something like: 7.30am, 10.00am, 1pm, 4.00pm, 5.30pm, 7pm, 11.30pm, and lately 3am Sad

Eating much:
She's having 2-3 BLW 'meals' a day but hardly swallowing anything which is fine as it's only week 2. She does manage well with spoon-feeding herself stuff and also eats most of a breadstick/rice cake but only manages to take small nibbles from fruit and veg etc. She's mad keen on the idea of eating tho.

Sleeping thru the night (hah!), ok, sleeping more than 5 hours:
Nope, it's not really got back to the heady days (nights) before the 4m sleep regression. She can sleep 5 hours or so from her bedtime 7.30pm feed but as i wake her for a dreamfeed that rarely happens.

In her own room:
Not yet but in the next week or so

Rolling both ways:
Yep

Sitting unaided:
Yep but still could be a bit sturdier. i wouldn't leave her without cushions around her yet

Crawling:
Not even close

Who does she recognise (other than you):
She adores dh, stares at him non-stop if he's nearby. She barely took her eyes off him thru dinner yday which looked v funny as she was sitting next to him so had to turn towards him the whole time. She also loves Felix and he's brill at cheering her up. She seems very keen on one of my friends who she's met 1-2 a week from newborn too.

Specialist skill/s:
Shows happiness/pleasure at someone talking to her by opening mouth as wide as it will go, like a silent laugh Grin Cue everyone asking 'Does she likes this or not?'

Farting in a most unladylike manner Shock

Celeb she is most like:
Any Seth Rogen stoner character: likes sleeping, eating, laughing and farting

OP posts:
CakeandRoses · 31/01/2011 22:21

just snorted at 'tuck in son'

nice recipe idea for kk that, mlic Grin

OP posts:
kkfairybrains · 31/01/2011 22:22

Does he just eat his pasta like pasta shells and stuff? ellie just gags if there's any lumpy bit she cant chew or dont dissolve in her mouth. I gave her the spagetti and meatballs that we had the other day but pureed it and it was a little spicy and the faces she was pulling was hilarious! would like to give her pasta and stuff like that but just dont know what way to give it to her!

kkfairybrains · 31/01/2011 22:23

I had a snort at that too cakes!

kkfairybrains · 31/01/2011 22:45

2 - 3 meals a day and eats loads! doesn
't turn her nose up to much..like dp..and me i suppose
Sleeps through the night with maybe a few dummy runs and i'll say no more after that as i want to be liked Grin.
In her own room since 5 months but its right next door to us so no big deal
rolls both ways and has got to the stage where she rolls very quick to get to where she wants to be
Can sit unaided but still dont leave her without s mound of cushions as she does topple over sometimes
not crawling but i've a feeling she's not too far off!
She loves men in general! you may get out of that fairly lively daughter!! she loves having loads of people to look at and already has the cute act(dropping the head to the side snd smiling, always smiling and laughing) to have everybody wrapped!
Specialist skills include posing for a picture! its hilarious! i've actually never seen another baby doing it. She does a big smile when you put the camera up! she loves remotes and phones!smiles at everyone.she can get her whole fist down to her wrist in her mouth, her whole rattle in her mouth, the whole fat part of the remote.....i hope you're not thinking my beloved child has a seriously big mouth ;-)! She is also a seriously talented farter!
Celeb she is most like???i'm just gonna go with and model as she loves having her picture taken and i cant thing of anything else!

WhatSheSaid · 31/01/2011 22:47

Baby age (eg closest to 6m, 6.5 months or 7m)
6.5m

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
umm, has 4 or 5 during the day so probably has dropped one or maybe two? Has one nightime one at 3am as well.

Eating much:
Loooooads, has a puree (fruit with babyrice and water) at every meal so I know she's def got something in her but also having a go at loads of finger foods e.g. toast, cucumber sticks, watermelon, noodles, anything she can hold really.

Sleeping thru the night Goes from about 7pm ish to about 3, quick feed then straight back to sleep (should really offer water then I suppose but cba at mo)

In her own room:
Yep, since about 4 months and has slept much much better since.

Rolling both ways:
Yep

Sitting unaided:
Yep but still a bit wobbly. Sits up then rolls herself over sideways into crawling position

Crawling:
Desperately trying to but not there yet.

Who does she recognise (other than you):
Huge grins for dh and dd1 and grins at other babies, sometimes cries if other adults hold her

Specialist skill/s:
Umm, just generally being happy and not waking me five times a night like she used to. That's enough to make me happy!

Doing yoga type positions as she tries to crawl (see Fb group photo)

Celeb she is most like:
Oh I dunno, maybe a rugby player cos of her magnificent thighs.

has 4 feeds a day but only takes 4oz at breakfast but 7oz before bed.

Eating much:
Not a big fan of lunch but loves breakfast and tea. having veg & chicken purees and some toast, finger foods.
Sleeping thru the night: Goes from about 7pm to 7am then sings for 20 minutes and sometimes goes back to sleep til 8am
In her own room:
Nope, cot still in with me
Rolling both ways:
Been rolling to the right for weeks but never bothers rolling left altho i think she's gonna be left handed oddly enough
Sitting unaided:
Yep but needs cushions surrounding
Crawling:
she wishes, getting frustrated with trying
Who does she recognise (other than you): she know she's got grandma wrapped round her finger
She loves my best mate and adores her 3yo boy she puts her hand on his face while open slobbering on his face! gonna have to watch those two!
Specialist skill/s:
Singing. She's always got a tune on the go and practising the high notes with a big smile on her face. Fake coughing for attention.

Celeb she is most like:
mariah carey cos she can hit the high notes but she's a terrible actress

Woodlands · 31/01/2011 23:10

Baby age
6.5 months

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
No way - normally feeds at about the following: 7am, 9.30am, 12.30pm, 3.30pm, 6.30pm, 10.30pm, 1.30am, 4.30am

Eating much:
Mixture of mashed stuff and finger foods - very keen on food but not really taking a huge amount in, he gets bored or tired.

Sleeping thru the night (hah!), ok, sleeping more than 5 hours:
No way - he has suddenly (touch wood) got quite good at self-settling but still wakes every 3 hours for feeds. Currently considering doing some sleep training to get him to sleep for at least one longer stretch.

In her own room:
No, his room is also DH's office and he works a lot from home in the evenings so don't know how that will work. Plus the room is right down the hall and I am lazy and CBA to keep trekking down there every three hours. ATM he's in a bedside cot so don't have to get out of bed to pick him up and feed him. He'll probably stay there till c. 1 year old.

Rolling both ways:
No, not even rolling one way yet (is he backward?!)

Sitting unaided:
Yes but not at home, only out at baby groups etc when there's something interesting to look at. Can't do it very reliably.

Crawling:
No way, still cries after a minute or so on his tummy

Who does she recognise (other than you):
I never know whether he recognises people or just smiles if he gets a smile from someone. He loves DH, saves his best smiles for when he gets home from work.

Specialist skill/s:
Blowing elaborate raspberries, thwacking both feet on the ground when he's happy, turning head from side to side when he wants to communicate.

Celeb he is most like:
er dunno!

Stac2011 · 01/02/2011 07:37

baby age: 7mths

Dropped any milk feeds yet? Yes down to 4/5 8oz bottles.

Eating much? She has breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper (mainly pureed) with finger foods as extra. Shes a bit lazy but can get the spoon to her mouth

Sleeping through the night? Goes down about 10 various dummy runs wakes at 6 for bottle then asleep to half 8. (well for the past 2 nights)

In own room? She doesn't have one Sad we are waiting for a bigger house. She's too unsettled to go into ds's room and tbh theres no room

Rolling both ways: she can do but still doesn't like her tummy much

Sitting unaided: yes but needs pillows as throws herself over to get stuff

Crawling: nope and dont think she will, think we have a bum shuffler

Who does she recognise: adores dh ane both ds's, great with family members and friends she see's regularly. Can look very serious to others sort of like she is sizing them to give them a smile

Special skills: shout and screaming like having a conversation. Taken to panting like the dog Confused eating both feet at once, can walk in her walkie, if she is standing likes to bounce on the surface she is standing on

Celeb: dont have a clue, someone who likes the sound of their own voice and knows what she wants. Alan sugar maybe lol

Dylthan · 01/02/2011 08:34

Baby age (eg closest to 6m, 6.5 months or 7m)
6m

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
She's better than every half hour like she was in the first couple of weeks but not by much. To be honest I don't take note of when she feeds or for how long. With Dylan I had a little notebook and it would stress me out so much if he went less than 4 hours Blush it's what all the books and my family told me he should be doing. With bethan I feed her when she wants it and although that means I feed her more I don't feel so much a prisoner to her that I did to Dylan. I think it's because I don't feel like it's a constant battle between us.

Eating much:
She loves her food I think she would eat all day if she could. I was hopeing to do only blw this time but she gets so hungry. So we give her some of our meals on her highchair while we eat (she does eat a suprising amount of it herself) and then when we're done we'll feed her some purée. She seems happiest with this system.

Sleeping thru the night (hah!), ok, sleeping more than 5
Not even close she's still every two hours some nights. She will very occasionally go 5-6 hours but the majority of the time she's every 3 hours. She has never slept more than this Sad

In her own room:
We were planning on putting her in her own room as soon as she hit 6m like we did with Dylan but to be honest I don't even think it's close to happening. She sleeps better when someone else is in the room with her and with her still getting up constantly in the night I really don't want to constantly be traipsing across the hall.

Rolling both ways:
No she can roll from her tummy to her back, but only from her back to her side.

Sitting unaided:
She can but all of a sudden something she wants will catch her eye and she'll fling herself backwards or forwards. She prefers being on her back as she can reach more. I think she just dosen't see the point of sitting Confused

Crawling:
No. But she is very sturdy on her feet and has been since about 4 months. She can now stand holding on to a table or chair all by her self for several seconds.

Who does she recognise (other than you):
Dh although not when he shaves his stuble that really upsets and confusses her. Dylan only has to walk into the room for her to dissolve into fits of giggles, they love each other so much which is amazing to watch.

Chulita · 01/02/2011 08:35

mlic no sign of an appt yet but I'm still waiting for a dermo appt for L, since Oct so I'm not holding my breath re S. We're with Bupa so I'm off to the doc's on Friday and just going to ask them to do it privately.

kkfairy DH wants to lose a stone too so it'd be worth trying I think, plus it teaches you healthy habits which I have seriously lost!

tsc they say opposites attract, I'd say definitely in your case Grin

stac tbh your DS is probs a bit old to share with such a little person. My sister had 3 in a one bed flat though before they got a council house so it can be done but wow it was a squeeze!

I did go to bed at half 9 after folding the washing and S fed every 1.5-2 hours all night. long drive to the parents later so that's going to be fun...

CakeandRoses · 01/02/2011 08:42

really nice to read how are babies are getting on.

chulita is magic goo still magicking? hope your drive goes well.

am with you on the bleary front. A's struggling with something since the night before last, she's doing a cry/grumble and is not sleeping well although you can tell she's trying to - not sure if it's teeth, wind, intolerance to something or full of poo (she has done one but not much considering how much she's fed lately). she's even been crying during the day which is very unlike her.

not sure we'll make her sensory class this morning as if she sleeps, I'm definitely sleeping.

Baby age: closest to 7m.

Dropped any milk feeds yet: yes, strange as hes not even eating that much solids. Maybe Ive always fed him too much!

Eating much: hit and miss with a spoon, depends if hes tired too. He likes finger foods of any variety, esp bread/rolls/french stick.

Sleeping through the night: he was, well waking up once which is great but in the last few nights has been a complete shit head and I dont even care that Im saying that.

In his own room: not even in his own bed.

Rolling both ways: yes.

Sitting unaided: yes.

Crawling: so close, really he is. He just needs to work out how to put his head AND bum in the air at the same time.

Who does he recognise besides me: his dad, and the grandparents.

DesperateHousewife20 · 01/02/2011 09:17

I missed special skills as I was copying dylthans headings and she didnt do them!

Special skills: blowing loud, long raspberries, making this god awful grunting/shouty noise. Kind of like a bear roaring.

Celeb: ummm...James Mcavoy! (I have no idea but I have a little crush on him)

Baby age:
Less than a week to 7 months.

Dropped any milk feeds yet:
Yep, she used to want milk constantly (especially during the afternoon) but now we're down to about 5 feeds per day between meals.

Eating much:
Anything and everything! No problem with lumpy food, loves gumming her way through macaroni in particular. She also likes semi-spicy food like Tikka Masala!

Sleeping thru the night (hah!), ok, sleeping more than 5 hours:
Yep, she's pretty reliable at sleeping 7:30pm-7:30am. We're working on naps morning and afternoon...

In her own room:
Yes, she got turfed out into the nursery when she was a few months old.

Rolling both ways:
She's mastered back to front, and can sometimes do front to back. Though more often she gets stuck on her front and cries for a rescue!

Sitting unaided:
Almost... She can do it, but gets distracted by shiny things and overbalances when turning towards or reaching for them.

Crawling:
No, though she does a very amusing breast stroke.

Who does she recognise (other than you):
She knows her Daddy, she even grins when he calls me at lunchtime and can hear his voice! She also recognises my parents, because we Skype a lot, and some of my friends who come over regularly.

Specialist skill/s:
She is a bottomless pit! She eats loads, but remains tall and skinny (like her Daddy Envy). She's also incredibly laid back, doesn't get upset easily but is also hard work to get to smile or laugh.

Celeb she is most like:
I have no idea...
