beadit your dress looks lovely but it is at least 10 sizes to small for me!

Mammy - sorry you're having such a shit time atm. It's awful when things get on top of you so much that you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have no words of wisdom for you but just know that we are all here any time you want to have a moan!

Grace has decided that she doesn't want to go to bed tonight, it would be on a night when i could really do with a major sleep. Oh well!!!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/01/2011 20:45

Sorry not a very cheerful post or baby related! Luke is his usual happy little self and if he'd only sleep a bit better at night would be the perfect baby. He is now getting right up onto one side but not quite rolling and as someone else said (sorry forgot who and the thread has gone onto a new page so can't check) he goes around in a circle using his legs.

Chelle1986 · 26/01/2011 21:03

I've just put my CV on to some job websites and now I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY grumpy! Sad Angry

cinnamon its a hard transition but it will even out. I taught juniors and yes they are all knackered til at least the mid term. Most moms let them nap when they get home or put them to bed much earlier. Im told it just takes time then they get used to it and its fine. DS1 is starting this september too and I think he will find it an awful shock to his system but we have already started with identifying why he is so stroppy/moody/grumpy and he is starting to acknowledge now that its because he is tired. so last week after a strop he just said that he was cross cause he was tired. I asked him what he wanted to do to fix that and he took his favourite book off the couch and I gave DS2 another toy while DS1 chilled.
Thats another twist in the tale too as DS1 will be starting back to school with me so we will both be knackered and I will be stressed to boot. Shit!!!!

JessemyParkson · 26/01/2011 21:25

That was me cinnamon :)

Talking about work that's why I'd like to be a doula. I worked through most of DS's early years. Scratch that, I was around for his first 10 months, and now for the last year. I regret not being there for him so much, I don't want to repeat that with Mary.

JodeyLea · 26/01/2011 22:53

patio Harlyn is also a fat rather large for his age baby and although he loves to stand and bounce in
his doorway bouncer, he is showing no signs of wanting to roll and doesn't like being on his front for too long. mammy what is that wedge called? Sounds ace. Also know how u feel about going back to work! Teaching is a very demanding job! I rarely leave school before 5:30 with all our rehearsals and after school clubs. Things will have to change when I gp back though. I'm planning to go back full time in
June for the last half term and then 3.5 days from Sep. Not looking forward to it at all but we need all the money we can get as looking to move house asap.

JessemyParkson · 27/01/2011 09:18

Are any bf mums giving their babies water?

Mary's a little bit, er, bunged up in her bottom, so I'm stopping the broccoli & cauliflower, but I'm thinking she'll need extra fluids to help her get going again.

Debs75 · 27/01/2011 11:40

Lucy had her 3rd set of injections today so a very anxious mummy is watching for signs. she has already done a disgusting liquidy poo and had 2 naps since 10am. On the + side after the last lot she did sleep through that night so I might get a good nights sleep tonight.

If I go back to work then I would like to doula or train as a midwife. I am training to be a breastfeeding counsellor soon and by time Lucy is at school I want to be training for a specific job. i have to be finished training and in a job before ds leaves school (2018) as we will be caring for him 24/7 so I need dp to get used to househusbanding before that happens.

bananastew · 27/01/2011 11:41

On the work subject, I'm looking forward to going back. I love love love being at home with my babies but couldn't do it indefinately. I've worked really hard to get a career & don't want to let it lapse. A friends dh told my dh that he should let me stay at home & I shouldn't have to go back to work! That really pissed me off! It's entirely my own choice & would seriously kill dh if he stopped me going back! That said, come september, when I go back, I'll wish I had longer! But then I'm never happy!

Had a very funny day yesterday & would like you all to learn from this! I saw with my own eyes the mess an 18mth & a tub of sudocrem can make! Walls, baby gate, clothes, door, bed, bedding, carpet! everything!

Ollys gone back to feeding twice in the night!!! I'm putting it down to him being poorly. He's not taking as much milk as usual. I'm going to wait till he's back on form then let the weaning fun begin!!!

Olly 21weeks

Dixiebell · 27/01/2011 14:25

So chuffed with myself as Arlo has had 3 naps in his cot today so far with only minimal crying when I put him down and no crying at all the last time. Long may this last. He's been asleep for an hour and a half now. I've managed to eat lunch, tidy kitchen and finish watching a film I've had on the go for about a week!

jessemy, I'm BFing and not given any water, but I haven't started on solids yet.

Arlo 16 + 3

JessemyParkson · 27/01/2011 15:43

All ok now, I gave her some water, and she had a nice big dirty nappy 10 mins later!

bananastew · 27/01/2011 17:00

Right I need an idiots guide to purees please. I never could get the right consistancy for toby & have just tried for olly & its gone in the bin! I did carrot. mashed it with a fork (I haven't got a hand blender, just a mini blender & its crap!) added some milk & it looked like something you'd find in a doorway on a saturday night in town! I want to do a mixture of blw & purees but can already sense its going to be a re run of the nightmare I had with toby. I want to avoid jars! Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 27/01/2011 17:29

I don't add milk to my fruit and veg just blend with a bit of cooking water bananastew. I'd just try him, start with it thick and then you can add more water/milk if he finds it too tricky.

I think working is so personal and imo it's totally up to each mum if they want to work but it's sad for those who want to stay at home and can't. I get so fed up with older generations who say they gave up work and they scraped by without all the luxuries. I cannot scrape by if I don't work I cannot pay the bills! We got our mortgage based on both salaries and can't just loose one of them.

Got an appointment for ds1's speech on 18th Feb, I'm impressed with the speed so far!

Put Luke in his door bouncer today and he loved it Grin

Chelle1986 · 27/01/2011 18:36

banana - I've just been adding literally half an ounce of formula to my veg - Olly seems to like it a bit thicker though. We had sweet potato today! Also I didnt have a hand blender - but got a tesco value one for £4.13 and its ace! direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-2793.aspx

I officially have the noisiest child in the world! He has been shouting all day!

chelle LOVE LOVE LOVE the card! You really didn't have to!
I think The J-Dizzle could have given The Ollmeister a run for his money today! Although not all day! More like 3 hours of yodelling Grin
Your lil man def has a cheeky glint! Grin Wondering how L'Hotel MyHouse might suit if the DH is away for a weekend??? Leeds in the day could be a lot of fun with the meisterdizzle boys! Hmm

Gave Jack avocado today mixed with about 1/2 oz of formula. He was pulling a sprout face but it went and stayed down and he's settled tonight with no problem so might get back onto the veg at the weekend. Fingers crossed for no more veggie windy days! Blush

Went to see my friend today and her lil one has thrush like sassy's boy had. WHERE is she???? I think we ought to start a thread called "get* sassy back on line Grin

beaditAli · 27/01/2011 19:21

mammyg seen the film but have a memory like THE most knackered sieve...... what is a Gruffalo voice like? Confused

bananastew · 27/01/2011 19:51

But Cinnamon I can't get it smooth! its horrible and lumpy! I have just bought a blender off ebay so hopefully I'll have a a bit more luck when it arrives!

Sassy said she'd be off for a while while they move house.

MammyG · 27/01/2011 19:54

beadit havent managed to see the film myself. I love stories and get totally carried away so I have a deep growly gruffalo voice and voices for all the other characters - The fox is definately british!
banana Use the water and blend away. Olly should be managing mashed in just a couple of weeks (24-26weeks) so wouldnt get too caught up in it. Am buying the Superfoods book - great ideas and they go right up to 4 and family meals. Suits me!
Phoebe had rice this evening. She took to the spoon like a natural - not nearly as messy as the boys were. I had my dinner on the counter next to her and she just got such a kick out of the two of us eating together. Lets see if eating sorts out the 5am hunger call! Although I think she is waking up with a mixture of hunger and wind - she is having messy full outfit change poos around 6am these days.
Also today had the funniest faces from her when we were looking in the mirror. She was just so puzzled as I was in front of her in the mirror then she would check was I still beside her. Love it!

Chelle1986 · 27/01/2011 19:57

beadit - L'hotel My House would prob suit too - we have the spare room and a travel cot and everythign J-dizz would need. Chester is a fab day out - and we have the Zoo too. Just timings really?

Yeah cinammon can you text sassy and see how she is getting on??

I've popped Olly down in his travel cot tonight...fingers crossed he chattered himself off to sleep about 20 mins ago. Going to check on him in a min. Thought best to let him sleep in it for a couple of nights here as he will be staying at Nanny's in it on Sat night.... hehe can't wait!! Night off and out and a good sleep!

Am am getting my hair cut on Sat! Haven't had it cut since before he was born! [slacker emoticon]
