It's been a while and I just had to read about 5 pages to catch up from my last read-only session, so apologies to anyone upthread who really needed an answer/hug etc..
IC Happy birthday to Rosie - hope you all have a lovely day.
Scones so sorry for your friend (and you therefore, obviously) but glad that she seems to be doing well at the moment.
Happy belated birthday Stan and very pleased you got lovely presents.
BG seems a bit silly to wish you good luck for an interview you've had today but I hope it went well and you got it if you wanted it!! If it's any comfort, work with two DS is actually going much more smoothly than I had dared hope. Admittedly, I do have to get up at 6:15 a.m. to leave with both in tow at 8:20, but I'm hoping this will improve! I would recommend lots of practising getting out early - but I think you might be doing this for school anyway, unlike me, as DS1 is only 2!
There are some benefits: you would get to go to the loo in peace, eat lunch without getting food spat/hurled at you etc.. You might even make some money if you haven't got two in childcare like we have - I'm paying £1000 a month at the mo till April (when DS1 will receive nursery grant) just to send the two boys to childcare for 3 days a week. I get to contribute towards about half our monthly Sainsburys bill on top of that for all my efforts at work and before and after each day!! I do also feel like I've done half a day's work by the time I've got there and why does DS2 seem to think 8:15a.m. is a great time for a poo?!! (And why do the boys lie in on weekdays and wake at 6a.m at the weekend?!!)
I haven't mentioned sleep in a while as it doesn't really bother me half as much as it did with DS1- we're usually up between 1 and 5 times a night between the two of them and average about 2-3 short wakings. DS1 has a cough at the mo so we were up on Sunday night for the day from 3a.m. which wasn't a great start to my working week (anyone know of a good concealer as I am seriously struggling to look professional?!! And that's before I get DS2's snot on my trousers!) I learnt last time to try not to focus on it too much and realised in the end that they will sleep through eventually. I hope those of you really struggling at the mo won't think I'm making light of it though as I'm really not- I've had my fair share of my 'crying tired' days - it was just helpful to try and remember that sleepless phases do generally pass and somehow we get through. Hugs to you all in the meantime.
Anyway, even I'm starting to lose the will to live with my ramblings!! Happy birthday to any of the LOs that I might miss before I get to type again.
(and do come pack PA - we miss you)
