Bollox SPOT! Hope he is ok what pantsola timing.

Rubena · 01/02/2011 20:00

Oh no Spot Sad why do you suspect fractured collar bone? Did dp report back that? ds has fallen down from the top about 3 times. Quite spectacurlarly. DH always says how it takes a lot for them to break bones, although some can be quite unlucky in the way they fall. Good news is it will heal faster since he a littlun.
No doc said ds just has a cold / cough and is feeling miserable and congested but he may have wonken at first due to me not getting to dd fast as she was shreiking and that worries him, so that wouldn't have helped. he has happily gone to bed now - as has dd.
Poison, no I've had the feeling for awhile now, and I remember I did when ds was about 12 months, however that was mainly due to leaving him for the first time when I went back to work. And this time it's ds again - not dd that I'm still worried about. I think it's just because he pretty much walks everywhere now and I rarely use the swrist strap either. I think I just need to get used to it (him not being strapped into the buggy therefore me feeling less comfortable) but to be honest he's been very good and even in Mothercare I saw him keep checking for me when he wandered off. I think it'll pass as I don't want to end up a crazy paranoid parent.

beans poor dd2. Hope she gets some good sleep in and feels better in the morning.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 20:15

Jam, the funeral sounds heartbreaking. I hope you're ok.

Spot, I'm so sorry for poor T. Hope he's ok. And sorry for my wimping on when you're struggling so much more than me. Big love xxx

Rubena · 01/02/2011 20:21

xed with loads of you. My computer froze and now playing up - just wrote a post and lost it so back later as got to do dinner

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 20:26

Buggeration spot hope it's not broken, fingers crossed. V bad timing. So sorry you are having such a rough time.

rubes glad DS has had the all clear.

Jam that funeral sounds just awful. Your poor friend and family.

Beans Poor little DD2 hope she perks up tomorrow.

Oh I am sorry too for moaning about not getting to go out/DDs feeding etc, when lots of you have so much more on your plates!

(Must remind myself this is just a phase. One day I will have a life again, I will! Even if it's quite a boring one, I will at least be able to go out for a meal, maybe even in Cambridge rather than the local village.)

Rubena · 01/02/2011 20:28

oh and PD - crikey no! I've only lost 2kg very recently, and that's been it for AGES. Most baby weight (except 5 kg) came off awhile back fortunately.
Someone asked about dd's age - she is 6 months now.

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 20:28

Oh Jam still on for 11th if you are ...

Monday, are you meeting in the day or the eve, Rubes and LadyT?? And with or without DC?

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 20:31

Oh Rubes yes to the scary imaginings, I have a thing about car journeys in particular.

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 20:32

Oh my goodness spot poor T! It does take a certain type of fall to break a collar bone but if he's done it what can you do. Poor him and poor you.

Rubs I still get those feelings with both boys, it quite terrifying actually. It doesn't happen as often these days but I still have quite vivid visions of terrible things happening. I just tried to type one out that I had lastnight but couldn't because its too upsetting.

Jam, the picture of the babys brother carrying the coffin just broke my heart. DS1 would have been the same age when DS2 was 28 weeks.

Man, trying to feed, bath & put these two to bed has exhausted me. It's not that they were naughty its just a bit like trying to round up, feed, wash and put a bunch of chimpanzees back into their cage.

Beans is DS2 vomiting?

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 20:39

Oh Rubes I also had an awful dream about DD, DH had to wake me up and I was shouting about it in my sleep.

vag that made me laugh, re the chimpanzees.

I am slowly trying to wean DD, this evening I gave her some pureed apple, DS figured out it was apple and started tantruming that he wanted some (despite the fact he had his own apple that he'd eaten 2/3rds of in front of him). Soooo funny, he was just kicking off big time and DD was just totally pissing herself with laughter, and this was amusing me so much that I had to turn away from DS so he couldn't see me laughing at him him. (I did give him some but he would have hoovered the whole lot if he hadn't given me time to give DD a chance!). Sorry that was probably tedious actually, was just v funny as it seemed like DD could just see straight through his crocodile tears tantrums!

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 20:43

Ah so laughing at men's misfortunes starts young. I guess it is ingrained in our DNA.

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 20:45

DD hardly ever laughs Vaggie either. When she does her hysterical laughter it's only ever at DS too.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 20:50

Vag, no, not vomiting. Just some diarrhoea, but honestly not that much. I felt a bit palmed off by the doctor. And my instinct tells me to give her her milk. I don't know why, but feel like it's a liquid, even though doc said not to unless she is desperate, because bug will feed on it. She's been sleeping all day and went down without a squeak. Poor little thing.
But have been so wrapped up in her it means I haven't fretted about my Dad so much!
But have also forgotten to ask DH about his mum, who had her 2nd scan to find out if the little mass in her gut is anything sinister today. Selfish!!

Rubes, I constantly wake up thinking I have one of the DDs are in bed with us and I've squashed or suffocated them. I pat at the bed to check they're not there, and the other day I managed to pat DH in the balls! Oops.

Just enjoying my 2nd beer. Heaven. Bet it's a long night ahead.

JollyBear · 01/02/2011 21:13

Hello everyone,

We're rapidly running out of space on the thread!

rubes I get those awful thoughts quite often. Usually as I'm trying to get to sleep. Horrible but normal I think.

summer I second rubes suggestion of the nuby cup. DD loved hers. Also it might make all the difference if you weren't there smelling all delicious. Does she reject the bottle from DH?

beans High temps are really scary. Glad DD2 seems better. Poor girl with nappy rash and the sqits. Is her bottom still very sore?

jam So sad about the funeral Sad. Poor family.

Oh no spot poor T. Hope it turns out not to be broken.

vag Maybe building up the creche visits might help. Can he actually see you from where he is or did I read that wrong?

Could I email you to ask your advice on something vag? I asked about breastfeeding at a clinc I went to today - they deal with some kidney transplant patients. Although I was told last time by my own consultants breastfeeding wasn't compatable with my meds, it turns out that it isn't as cut and dried as all that. It is a bit complicated though and I'd really appreciate your advice if you don't mind?

trace How are things now? Hope you felt better sharing things with your friend. Do unload on here if you need to.

Blood pressure still ok so I'm hoping they might cut down my check ups - every day is getting a bit much.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 21:18

JB So glad you're ok - bet you're sick of the sight of hospital!

here's new thread

Hope it's ok and all find it xxx

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 21:21

Glad you are going ok still JB!

Thanks for suggestions, I think I will try the nuby cup and might try getting one of these breastflow or whatever bottles. Don't want to invest in an arsenal of different bottles to have them all rejected but might just try that one to see. And no she won't take it from DH. I locked myself in the garage with the turbotrainer and loud music for an hour the other evening, and she spent most of it screaming! Apparently. I didn't hear. I have tried her twice today and the second time was more successful as she was happily putting it in her mouth and milk was coming out but she wasn't swallowing it. And she wasn't getting wound up. So maybe it will fix itself.

DeidreBarlow · 01/02/2011 21:24

Yikes posting from my new phone so apologies in advance for the typos!

Beans poor dd2. I hope you don't have too rough a night
Spot poor t! Gosh I hope he's ok. They are tough little buggers if it is broke littlies do heal quickly. x
Jam that was tough to read god love that little boy.
JB good to hear the no is still down. I hope it stays that way for a while yet.

Right here goes I'm going to post....I hope it works.

Well done DB, but yer posted on the wrong thread!! Our Beans has made a new one.

spotofcheerfulness · 01/02/2011 21:26

Just heard from DP, it is a fractured clavicle but there's not much they can so as he's so little so I guess it will heal by itself. It's weird i just knew it as soon as I saw him hold his shoulder, I did it when I was a kid and I fell off a horse. Apparently it is rare in such young kids but we do have a lot of stairs Sad.

Rubena · 01/02/2011 21:36

cyclone upgraded to Cat 5 - why is my brother such a fucking IDIOT and not evacuated yet. I cannot believe it

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 21:44
