Hurrah! Willy Milk Grin

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 21:33

It made it into the title. Wonder if we'll get grief from wider MN!

EffiePerine · 01/02/2011 21:38

I love the farty boos Grin

Rubes: I get the worries about the DSs as well. Terrifying thoughts about car crashes and all sorts. I used to annoy DH by prodding him when he was fast asleep to check if he was still breathing so I guess I'm just A Worrier. Though DS2 is trying to send me to an early grave - he got hold of a bottle of mouthwash yesterday and then today tried to squeeze through the railings at the top of the stairs.

Jolly: great to hear from you :)

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 21:56

Sure JB, I may not be able to answer you questions but I can point you in the right direction of someone who can. My email is [email protected]

Oh poor ickle T. Did they give him something decent for the pain. I meant to say earlier, Avo is right the omeprazole is the bomb, but the Domperidone and ranitidine are a step in the right direction. Your GP is basically working upwards with his meds towards the omeprazole, it is prudent to start low, but I did think gavisvon was a bit too low. The domperidone increased gut motility, so milk will move out of her tummy a bit quicker, the less time its in there the less she can lose, and the ranitidine is a hardcore antacid. It's what I wanted from that bloody GP at the end of DS2's pregnancy. It's good, they use it for ulcer sufferers too. He won't mess around though if these don't work he should up it. Though the domperidone does take a few days to start working. How are you and DP getting on with all this?

Beans I think that is the best title so far!

I've forgotten most of the posts I just read. Oh and I'm weak I don't think I'll bother with the creche, generally DH is home and if he is away I can go on the weekend. This week is just unusual as I am away this weekend, but I can go Friday morning before we leave and I can do another core session at home on Thursday. I'm going to be doing a lot of cycling tomorrow so that will help. Next week DH is home so I could maybe slip in an extra session then to make up.

spotofcheerfulness · 01/02/2011 22:01

Vag they gave him 5ml of paracetamol! He's just back, very overtired and I have no idea how we'll stop him falling over on it but hoping he heals fast.

Interesting about the Domperidone taking a few days, so the fact that the doc wants to see him tomorrow morning is probably a bit previous.

Then appt with T in the fracture clinic on Thurs.

waitinggirl · 01/02/2011 22:06

hello hello. i am still here. all is fine here. 37 weeks today. went to a vbac birth practitioner today for a session - v useful, but a bit scary.

jam - so sad

spot - poor little T

beans - poor little ds2

and lots to say to others, but, my, i'm tired. night night.

Avocadoes · 01/02/2011 22:35

JB - i am sure our Veg will be able to help with your BF questions, but also look here toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT it's a database of info about drugs and breastfeeding. I was pointed towards it when I was on my 900th antibiotic for mastitis and drs said I couldn't continue feeding. A friend knew of this database and said it often showed you could feed on drugs that are thought to be contraindicated. Great news that your BP has been stable for a while. Long may it continue.

Spot - so sorry to hear about T's clavicle. It never rains but it pours. I hope you all get some sleep. You are being amazingly calm and strong.

Beans - my DDs often get fevers of 40+. the doctors always say not to worry if ibuprofen will reduce it below 40 and they aren't acting too ill. I hope Pru feels better soon. Maybe her and Whizz have the same bug.

Hi WG! Lovely to hear from you.

Deids - what's your new phone? It looks good for posting.

I just watched last night's One Born. Did anyone else see it? That opera singing woman was possibly the most annoying thing that I have EVER seen.

I am ovulating today and it always makes my broody. I shouldn't have watched those ickle babies on One Born. Basic error there.

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 22:44

Beans the usual advice for gastro bugs and kids is give them what they want, except citrus fruits and tomatoes,as a bit acidic. Bless him with his feeding the bug, the bug is in her bowels, there is more than enough to feed it in there anyway. The dioralyte is fine, but its really hard to get kids to drink. Even when we have kids squiting and spewing we still give them milk if that's what they ask for. Kids will ask for what the crave (generally) so just keep doing what youve been doing. It will take a little time for the squits to settle by the ,way, and as Avo said as long as the temp settles with calpol it fine. I would avoid neurofen if you can because its a bit hard on the gastric system if its already a bit battle worn but you have to to get the temp down give it.

Right really must go to bed.

JB I've emailed you, but that website looks good too. I think its the combo bit that's tricky.

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 22:45

Hi WG.

LadyThompson · 01/02/2011 23:04

Top of the evening to you, ladies.

Crikey on a bikey, Spot, you really are having the most devilish time at the moment. You must be ready to jump down the stairs yourself. Poor little T. Please, please let the next few weeks be easier for you.

Effie, when I have some energy tomorrow I am going to leaf through my two London for Children guides and come up with some possibilities for Monday. (Sorry Rubes, I am very keen about it but I am have been chasing my tail all day). Hey, very much hope your brother is ok. Keep us posted.

Beans, I hope DD2 is tons better tomorrow.

SL, we usually use Avent bottles but I also have some Tommee Tippee ones which have different shaped teats, sort of flatter. I can send you one if you like, to try, to save you buying that one.

JB, going for a check EVERY day is such a pain. Glad things seem to be calming a bit, though.

Loads more to say but I HAVE to go to bed. To tell you the truth I am in a frustrated and irritable mood. Not with DP, who is being good, or the kids of course, but with myself and various others. Chimney is being done tomorrow, that's good at least.

Right, hoping for a good night's sleep so I can wake up in my normal frame of mind!

LadyThompson · 01/02/2011 23:07

Can one of us please win the lottery or summat and then we can all have a nice treaty weekend somewhere, with a big fat creche. That'd be nice, right? My needs are modest - a spa and a bar Grin

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 23:08

Oh dear, it seems we've joined the hot team here, DS1 has a temp of 38.5 and climbing. Poor thing is shivering away. He's complaining of a headache which I'm hoping is just a bit of dehydration.

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 23:10

Spa and bar definitely Lady!

Beans33 · 02/02/2011 07:34

Oh Vag, how is DS1 this morning? DD2 better than yesterday, but gone back to bed after only half an hour up. DD1 will just have to be late for nursery this morning.

I have a sore throat meantime. Bugger.

Lady, are you ok this morning? x

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 02/02/2011 08:14

Spot: poor DS1 :(. It's been such a difficult time for you all, you must be sick of doctors and hospitals. Hope the GP is useful again today. Things must be due to look up soon. How are you feeling in yourself? Healing ok? Are you still taking turns with DP to get some sleep?

Lady: a spa break is an excellent plan. Any more news re your Egypt break? Sounds like things are moving along, so the sit may be very different.

Rubes: hope your brother is ok. I too would be heading out of there at a brisk run.

Vag: how is DS1? And Beans' poorly bean too.

Mine aren't unwell, just unsettled. Mainly the change in routine I think. DS1 is getting very angry at the tiniest things and lashing out. I'm trying to keep them occupied but it isn't easy when it's cold and wet. Roll on spring!

DeidreBarlow · 02/02/2011 08:24

spot Poor T. Can't believe the only gave him 5ml of Calpol - can't they have up to 10 ml at this ageConfused. You have such a shitty time of late, things will get better.

beans Great thread titleGrin. Hopefully that bug is working its way out of DD2 now.

vag How's DS1 this morning? Forgot to say yesterday that it was a shame DS2 didn't like the gym creche - so could he see you through glass doors? Maybe that was worse than not seeing you at all iyswim. I went for a run last night. I could feel my knee pulling the whole time. But surprisingly this morning its a little stiff but not sore. I guess its just getting used to my weight bearing down through it againGrin

avo My new phone is a HTC desire. Its so far removed from my old one. I spent most of last night trying to get used to the touchscreen. But I seemed to be able to post okay so thats goodGrin

ladyt How's the mood this morning? I find February so depressing. Its just always dark and damp (well it is here anyway). And Saturday is a year since MIL diedSad. Roll on the spring! If I ever win the lotto I'll buy a house and we can keep it as a little sanctuary where we can all go and rest (and eat cake and be cheerfulWink). Like a secret club where only we have the keys ...well I can dream.

Right school run and work...happy Wednesday lovely ladies.

DeidreBarlow · 02/02/2011 08:27

Rubes your poor brother and the cyclone! Vag you too I expect you both have lots of family & friends that will be affected. So scary for them all.

Beans33 · 02/02/2011 08:30

Deids - with you on trying to work out touchscreens. I spent ages when I first got my iphone not being able to call anyone. Didn't realise that you had to touch the number on the screen to dial them! Was looking for the green button on a keypad that didn't exist!

DD2 ok - v sleepy today. Am about to go and get her up for a bit and try to get some diarolyte down her. She slept from 10-5.30, then did a poo, which stung her bottom, so changed her and she went back to sleep til 6.45, which is great. DD1 up at 6.30, though and I had been lying awake thinking about Dad again from 5.30. Bugger!! But DD1 at nursery today, so will get some sleep this pm.

Spa break - genius. I would recommend Danesfield House. Although no creche. Bugger.

Spot - how's T this morning?

OP posts:
Rubena · 02/02/2011 08:57

Thanks all. They have taped up windows and are going to bunk down in his basement. I just fear that floods could come as far in has his house. He just text and said it's getting quite scary now. He called briefly last night and I unknowingly insulted two of his staff members since they were in the car and he had me on speaker phone. he said "Rubena I have 15 Japanese staff members to find shelter for first" (and I was annoyed as some of his staff are total muppets) and I said "Fuck the J's get yourselves out of town!!" Then he said, "erm, Rubena, X & Y are in the car" nice. Oh well his fault for not saying they were. he knew I was angry!

Glad dd is slightly better beans.

And ds2 also Vagola. Hope he feels better soon without a trip to the docs.
I'd really like to call you Moeder off Yordan from now on though Grin

DS has eaten a big bowl of porridge with banana. he still has a shocking cough.
I've put him back on the Olive leaf extract but at least he's eating now so hopefully on the mend.

Jam. I should still be ok for the 11th (if ds ok then) but if SummerL or others can't come should we make it a day that more can? Not that I don't want to see you Jam (I def do in fact I actually said that to Lady last time we met up!) just about 1.5 hours drive for me, but I don't mind at all if it's going ahead with a few of us?

Rubena · 02/02/2011 08:58

Oh and Spa and Bar - genius. lady we have pretty much the same requirments Grin Actually dh bought me a spa voucher near my house and they DO have a creche and a bar!! Its quite £££ though! Not sure how the creche works though. I wonder if it is for in house guests only. Must find out.

vagolaJahooli · 02/02/2011 09:25

Morning. It's actually DS1 that is unwell. He had temps up to 39.1 overnight but responded to calpol. He has a headache and was dry reaching whenever his temp was going up. He slept til nearly 9. When he first woke he was fine but I did give him his maximum of calpol at 5.30am. He is starting to shiver again now and has gone a bit quiet so I think his temp might be going up again. He's quite sad because he will have to miss his violin class, and because DH is away DS2 will have to miss his little music class this morning too, and we were going to pop into a friends for tea this afternoon so thats all cancelled now and It's dvds on the couch. Poor DS2 has to be stuck indoors because DS1 is sick, its not fair for him, and don't really want him watching TV all day, but what can you do.

DB I've got the HTC desire too, it took some getting used to but I love it now. How is DH feeling about Saturday?

Beans33 · 02/02/2011 09:29

Oh Vag - your poor little DS1. I'm so sorry he's feeling so rotten. Give him a virtual hug from us all. He's such a good little boy. xx

OP posts:
vagolaJahooli · 02/02/2011 10:37

Thanks Beans, he liked his hug. He's gone up to 39.4 again and literally can't move his head because of the pain so I've managed to get him an appointment at 2.20 with the GP. I'm sure he's fine but when kids have a temp a sore neck and headache its better to be safe than sorry.

Beans33 · 02/02/2011 13:17

Oh gosh, well done getting appointment. Let us know how he is. Fingers crossed all ok and just flu.

xx

OP posts:
JollyBear · 02/02/2011 13:23

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much for your email vag, I'll get an email off to them now. Thanks avo too, I've looked up the rest of my meds on there. It is very confusing though as I don't feel at all qualified to calculate the risk Confused. Hopefully the people I'm about to email will be able to help.

avo I watched One Born! She was certainly a bit different. I felt for the girl who's boyfriend was hungover and uncontactable. She was very forgiving, I think even the most mild mannered of people would have been Angry.

vag Hope DS1 gets on ok at the GP. Could it be a migrane?

spot How are things today? You really have been through the mill recently. Could your mum come up to give you another pair of hands? You must be exhausted.

rubes That sounds really scary, especially the flooding risk.

WG Great to hear from you. Glad you are still ticking along nicely. Any signs things might be getting started?

beans How is your dad? Has he started his treatment now?

ladyT Hurray for progress on the house.

30 weeks today Smile. BP ok, protein still high but stable, have a growth scan tomorrow so we can see if all is still growing well.
