Kiwi, the FO advice is still that Sharm is safe, so, hopefully she will be fine. As long as that is the advice, no refunds and no insurance will pay out either, so we are stuffed. I know for a fact that my Mum will be giving us massive earache about it all (she won't want me or the girls anywhere near the place). Sigh. I don't want to lose the money - neither of us have the cash for another holiday - but I don't want to do anything silly either. We will take a view the week before we go I guess, it's three weeks away. Glad the tantrums have abated! That is amusing about paying Grin Isn't it a funny age? DD1 found a novel use for the gloopy snot all over her face. She found a few squares of paper from the recycling and pressed one to her chin and said "A beard! Like a pirate!"

DB and Trace, I meant to say, that is amazing your DDs were dry at night at this stage. Crikey! Oh and Trace, I am glad for you that you've got the telling the folks bit out of the way.

Spot, I am very glad to hear you finally got to see an ENT consultant about T. At least the ball is rolling now. Sorry you feel trapped. I felt just like that with DD2 for about 6 weeks or more but that was because I couldn't lift with the dodgy cs wound and therefore couldn't manage much. I promise things will get better. The fact of it being freezing and winter doesn't help.

I think her interest in the potty is calming down so that's a big relief and hopefully we can take things more slowly...

Beans33 · 31/01/2011 19:07

Poor little Pru. Temperature and did a squitty poo in the bath. Third night in a row. Hurts my heart a bit.

JamInMyWellies · 31/01/2011 19:49

Am back had a lovely time. Grin Totally loved being away and although I missed the boys it did not hamper us having a fab time. Although DH losing his wallet 5 mins after checking in did. But onwards and upwards tis only money and I had my cash cards with me.

Going to try catch up before I collapse in bed. 2hrs sleep on the plane then full on day with the boys does not make for a rested person. WIll be back tom prob. Also have friends babies funeral tom. Sad

JB did I see you are in hospital. Cross your legs lovey. xx

LADY are you still going to Sharm? worried.

Loads more to say but it will have to wait too cream crackered.

Rubena · 31/01/2011 19:51

Right really quick as I have to catch up with dh.

Lady, we're on for Monday. let me know what time you can meet me, and we'll lunch. If you are sure sure sure dp is fine to sign the forms I will get dh to sign them tonight (both parents have to and I hadn't remembered yesterday) and send them to you so he can do them whenever is convenient this week then you could just bring them if that's ok? I'm driving to mil's and dropping them so no hurry as I'll prob be mid/late morning... Can anyone else meet?

Beans - sorry to hear about dd2 not being good still Sad What's her temperature? Is dd1 ok?

back later...

Rubena · 31/01/2011 19:52

Hello jam!! Lovely FB photo's!! [waves]

vagolaJahooli · 31/01/2011 20:11

Evening all...

Kiwi that is so funny, however, not as funny as Beans farty boo. I laughed so hard I had a coughing fit. I'm putting the boys to bed while catching up and I woke DS2 who was very nearly asleep.

ZJ, your DH should be grateful, mine is MrVag! Not sure he is aware of that.

Lady, I'm sorry things are so up in the air. I have to say if it was me, I'd feel perfectly fine about going. It's not like they are protesting against tourists. In a way I think it kind of undermines what the protesters are doing by stopping tourism. However, I guess it might urge Mubarak to leave if it costs the economy in tourists pulling out.

Spot, sorry for your poor little man's pain, but good news someone is finally listening to you on T, shame it has to go so far. Ear & respiratory anatomy is a bit dodge in kids its all so little, not much space, so if anything is a little bigger than it should be it messes it all up. It could be that its congenitally big or all these infections caused chronic inflammation. Either way your kids aren't defective.

Rubes did I say something nice to you?

DH is in Belgium, but have had a nice day with DS2 and both boys have been brilliant tonight, really well behaved and playing nicely together. I've got DS2 booked into the gym creche tomorrow and have been trying to make it seem a really exciting event, DS1 has been getting in on it and talking about how great creche is. I hope were not talking it up too much. Oh well will see how it goes.

vagolaJahooli · 31/01/2011 20:12

Oh and Rubes DH can probably download anything you want and I can send it to you on a dvd. It's the least I can do after the frames thing.

vagolaJahooli · 31/01/2011 20:26

Hey Jam, glad you had a goodtime, get a some sleep.

Rubena · 31/01/2011 21:19

Yes Vaggie you did say something nice - (quite shocking huh!Wink) You said you weren't dissing my soup, just that I was doing it. How was it anyway? I made another bathc as dh has been eating it too fast!!Shock and the next one I added spinach and used leek instead of onions and it was even better Grin but still haven't managed to follow it to the letter. I will weigh tomorrow as I forgot to today, and see if I have lost more than that kilo I said, hopefully! then from tomorrow I will do it a bit more seriously. (well today started again but I did have salmon for tea (granted not so calorific)but still... you can't deviate.

Did you get the frames Vagola? Should have been there by today I thought? Thanks re the downloads - will check what dh has rustled up and let you know if I need anything but I think we are fine.

lady dd1 really makes me laugh! Love her. You must bring her over so she can teach ds a thing or two! That is some seriously good vocab for her age! And there you were worried about her not walking! She was sitting there eavesdropping on all the adult converstaions! Smart girl you have there.

LadyThompson · 31/01/2011 21:34

Fantastic, see you next Mon, Rubes. I will figure out which train I might get and let you know but I imagine one to get me in for lunchtime. DP says totally fine for the forms. I guess no need to send them to me Special Delivery? (I may not be around on Wed to sign for them y'see as chimney is being done). ANy other ladies up for Monday 7th lunch?

DD1 is such a worrier, though, which makes ME worry. If she thinks she's done the slightest thing wrong she panics and cries.

Am about to take a leaf out of your book and have Skinny Soup (it's a brand, and not that skinny) for supper. But I have already had two Quorn sausages so it doesn't count (only 82 cals each though).

Welcome back Jam! Look forward to hearing all the details!

MrVag Grin I suppose that is a little unfortunate. But we mean it in a good way.

vagolaJahooli · 31/01/2011 22:04

Rubs, it usually takes about a week for parcels to get from here to there. I would expect it to take a bit longer coming back this way as they are a bit crap and slow over here. I would expect it to be here by Thursday. Dont worry. I still haven't sorted my paypal, must get onto it. The soup is lovely there is so much of it though. I've put heaps of it in the freezer. I actually didn't have it for dinner as I fancied some egg and salad. But will have some tomorrow for my dinner. If DS2 at the gym creche doesn't work out I might have it for lunch and something else for dinner.

Avo have you recovered from your clubbing. How was little Gym. DS2 is going to a little Gym party in a few weeks for one of his little friends.

vagolaJahooli · 01/02/2011 08:03

First morning in, like, forever the boys both slept through until 7.53! But we have to be at school by 8.30, amazingly we were out of the house by 8.22 and I rode fast and took the short cut and we made it with a couple of minutes to spare.

Some white creche settling vibes would helpful this morning.

EffiePerine · 01/02/2011 08:27

Message to MiniVag2: Crèche is fun - play nicely and Mummy will see you soon!

Lady: where are you meeting in Lunnon? I might be able to make lunch / early afternoon with the boys.

Avocadoes · 01/02/2011 08:37

Good morning,

Rubes/LadyT - I am afraid the Shangri-La of a Westfield softplay crèche dies not exist. What I was referring to on Sunday was a birthday party at a place called Little Gym in Westfield. Little Gym is a soft play/gymnasium where children sign up to classes. DD1's little friend had payed to have a party there & that was the only reason we cld leave the kids unattended. Sorry! I wish I cld join you on Monday but work prevents.

Spot - I am so sorry that DS2 is suffering so. Before you see the GP why not search MN for reflux threads so you are armed with information about what works and can insist on the best? The drug I have been rabbiting on about, which is spelt something like Omeprazole, is v expensive for the NHS so I think you sometimes have to fight for it.

Jam - I'm so glad you had a good break. Can't wait to hear the details.

Where is WG? I hope her last trimester is progressing well.

I am loving the stories of funny things the toddlers are saying. DD1, inspired by the film Madagascar, has taught DD2 to strip down to her underwear and run round the room wiggling her butt and singing "I like to Move It, Move It". They do it together then collapse in a heap of laughter. So cute. Also DD2 likes to clasp my head and rub her nose against mine while gabbing on about "Eskimo kisses". Just when I think she is being really sweet she then shouts "I not an Eskimo, I just DD2 putting snot on you!" she then laughs herself silly and usually has to lie down to recover.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 09:02

Avo - HILARIOUS! That is class! I love the snot! I was being posh in Waitrose yesterday (as I may have already told you all - hee hee!) and DD1 was eating a "baa biccie" (gingerbread sheep) as a special treat. It has black food colouring in for the head of the sheep and she had it all over her face in a beard and tash shape. I gave her a quick wipe and as I pulled away the wipe, she shouted "Bogies!" at the top of her voice. Ahem. Of course, I didn't teach her that.

Gutted that there isn't a free softplay bit at Westfield, Avo - was getting excited about a shopping trip sans babies.

Where will you all be meeting on Monday? In case I get blown out by my friend I'm meeting up with for the day!

x

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 09:10

Ooh, ooh - one last quickie... I am today wearing my favourite jeans for when I'm thin - I haven't worn them since 2007!!!

I'm in them, but admittedly, my muffin top isn't. But heyho, that's what long jumpers are for! I haven't been able to even pull them up my legs fully until now. YEEHAH!

I don't know what this is meant to be for, but I like it: Bear

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 09:32

PS Only 2 pages til we run out of space again - please can I vote that we have something about Willy Milk in the next title? Or will we be vetoed by the powers that be?

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 09:32

4 strikes and I'm out!

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 10:05

No I'm not. DD2 has high temperature. Taking her to doctor at 12. Bugger bugger.

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 10:07

Hurrah for thin jeans beans!

DH and I have had a pukey bug (though somehow I managed to not actually puke just feel shit) - bloody hell looking after toddlers is exhausting when you are feeling shit isn't it?

DD doing her 2 hrly waking again, not interested in solid food (though admittedly have not tried the last couple of days as really did not appeal when I was incapable of eating myself), and now refusing to take a bottle. Joy. Which means I can't even go out in an evening as she feeds all evening. Oh well, maybe it will help me lose weight!

Like all the funny toddler stories! I am also finding this stage very cute, DS also very good yesterday as he got hardly any attention and lots of cbeebies and didn't get too grumpy.

Where are you guys going next Monday?

jb thinking of you and thinking stay in there vibes to your little one.

trace hope you are managing to relax and have some time to yourself

gotta go for now as dd going nuts.

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 10:08

bugger beans, how high? Hope she is ok.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 10:27

JB - I, too, am thinking sticky (or should it be sticking??) thoughts to your little nipper... Let us know how you're doing if you can.

SL - I don't know how high as only have a Peppa Pig forehead thermometer, which says if it's over 38 and high, or over 39 and v high. Luckily, it's only on the 38+ bit, not the 39, which is good. Not sure if it's because of her nappy rash or something else...

I'm so sorry your DD doing the regular waking thing. It's so exhausting. Especially with 2. God knows how I ever thought looking after one was hard work. Am just glad that today is DD1's nursery day. Along with tomorrow. Phew. Means I can concentrate on DD2.

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 10:35

Lady - just watching This Morning and apparently Red Sea resorts are still v safe and not to worry about any holidays booked there...

SummerLightning · 01/02/2011 10:36

Yes nursery day for me too thank god. Giving myself a break rather than running round like a total loony like usual trying to tidy house.

You made me laugh about Waitrose and "Bogeys!". We last went to waitrose on New Years Eve, and it was really busy but with old people going really slowly and gossiping and giving us disapproving looks with our two snotty offspring.

The time before it was lovely and empty with no queues, just great. We went to the cafe and got accosted by some highly irritating couple with a 15 month or so old toddler who regaled us at great length about his legendary achievements (walking at 10 months, earlier than all NCT friends, etc), DH and I were pissing ourselves.

I am very flattered that you think DS's Willy Milk comment is worthy of going in a thread title. THough it does sound rather rude when taken out of context. The poonami offense brigade might be upset...

Beans33 · 01/02/2011 10:43

Hee hee! All the more reason to use it! Yes, sounds a bit like it might mean a man's white wee...

Have decided against doctor for DD2 as really, what can they do for her/ tell me more than I'm doing already? Best to keep her inside and cosy and get liquids down her.

God, I can't wait for summer.
