2010 - the best year of my life, for half of it I was pregnant and for the other half had my baybee. Grin

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

okie We went out to dinner last week for MrP's birthday. Local childminder babysat. Both children kicked off and at 10.30 we had a desperate call saying neither of them had been to sleep yet, they were getting hysterical, and could we come home please.

By the time we got home they were both asleep.Blush Babysitter rushed out the door only stopping to ask if we had ever left them alone before, with a look of thunder on her face. Was not great.

But we were SO GLAD we had our night out. We really needed it. (Just need to supress the image of my distressed children.Confused)

cossie It's not like you to be a nasty bitch, whoops, I mean speak in a straightforward manner.Wink What did you say?

box We also have biting. I have teeth marks. But no blood - that I have dreaded! I do as described and now I think he only does it when he forgets himself.

Just to add to the moving confusion I am now having a nursery crisis for Bonnie. And MrP is going away for three days right after we move.Angry La, la, la, la.

rollerbaby · 27/01/2011 10:47

okie do not drive!! It's only around the corner so you can always hop in a mini cab if the worst happens... That posh restaurant you are going to has a VERY nice wine list as I'm sure you know. MMMMM.

fanny surely that's what babysitters are paid for?! Not to sit and watch the bleeding telly. Silly cow. At least you had a nice evening. A bit of screaming can't hurt can it?

We're off out next Monday 7th for the first time... all the way to the O2 for a bit of Roxy Music. We love a bit of 80s we do. Even if there was a massive emergency I'm not sure you can get home that quickly from there. My mother will be armed with formula, breastmilk, the works. If he's that hungry he'll eat it I'm guessing. Hopefully though, he'll stay fast asleep.

We also had a good night. Fed him at 10 and he woke up at 2.30 and then we had to wake him at 7.15!!! Ahhhhhh. SIL over today for lunch and hypnobirthing lecture (she's now in her 3rd trimester) and then whole family for my dad's birthday. Have ordered beef wellington from the butcher.YUM. Plus homemade (not in this home) icecream for pudding.

Not so good is Mr Moo heading off to the Dam for the night and then to San Fran for the WHOLE of next week. Er what am I meant to do with dog, baby, 2 hospital apps on Monday, 1 tongue tie app on tues, swimming on weds and jabs on friday??????? ARRRRGHGHGHGHGH. Think I may need to stock up the wine rack.

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 12:01

FP I dared to suggest she had one of those babies who just sleep when they're tired. I was accused of making assumptions and then she followed me on to another thread and told me off for contradicting what I'd said on a different thread (I hadn't gone into huge details as it was someone who is on another sleep thread so who knows the backstory to my answer) and she said I had a chip on my shoulder because she had come on to my turf. wtf??

Night out sounds like a good night with a bad end. Ah well, at least it was good while it lasted :) It is for this reason we have not braved a night out yet! Still, it won't have done them any damage and you had a meal out with no washing up!

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 12:03

would you overlook a slight smell of smoke in a CMs house if she was great in every other way? I'm not sure I can. It's a toss up between 2, I think it will be the other one although she is slightly dearer and has no garden. She has a yard with sandpit etc and there are 2 great parks with playgrounds etc v close (one literally round the corner 2 mins walk).

rollerbaby · 27/01/2011 12:33

No I definitely wouldn't. Lots of evidence to show second hand smoke is damaging to children of all ages (even just from clothes if they have been outside to smoke) and I just wouldn't risk it. Bloody annoying though by the sounds of it... I am a bit of a pedant about this and I'm an ex smoker of over 15 years!!!! Confused

That woman on thread sounds like a nutter who needs to get a life. Don't let it wind you up.

Well SIL and prob brother not coming now so have giant beef wellington for 5 now for 3. GGGRRRR. Mind you I'd rather they stay away with nasty coughs etc.

Roofer still here fixing our leaks. Not allowed out until he's gone. Starving and no food in house. Dog is pissing me off but at least Babymoo is asleep.

Turns out our dog has hated his food for the last year. We bought a years supply when we got him and he has always been a bit so so with it. I just thought he had a small appetite. Anyway it ran out and the new stuff from the vets he LOVES. He has now taken to sitting in the kitchen with his nose in the bowl. Very funny, feel bad though!

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 12:35

yes my instinct is no and i think it's v important when choosing cm. don't worry am too chilled to get wound up :)

I'll come round for the beef!!!

FannyPriceless · 27/01/2011 12:45

cos I am have having similar issues finding a nursery for Bonnie. I think you have to trust your instincts on this sort of thing. It's so important you feel confident that Artie will have excellent care there. For so many reasons - his and yours.

FannyPriceless · 27/01/2011 12:47

Oh yes, and I am coming over for the beef too!Smile

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 12:49

Why do they always do a poo when you have just changed their nappy??????

SilverSky · 27/01/2011 13:13

Or in my case - in middle of nappy change so clean bum and as I administer Sudocrem to posterior cue shit fountain! Nice.

moo what time do you want us??? Grin

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 13:15

nice silv!

rollerbaby · 27/01/2011 15:14

ha ha. I quite like it when he does it as I'm changing his nappy... means I don't have to do it again later!

Back from HV. He's now 17 lbs 4. Growing by the bloody minute. Bizarrely I'm not feeling all that different despite sleep which apparently is down to the fact he's feeding so much and I am still knackered. Hmmm. I seem to just have a constant headache and feel a bit nauseous and anxious. I mean, I'm fine but I just feel a bit on edge alot. I don't know if it's lack of sleep or just needing to get used to my new life but it is wearing. I sat in a cafe earlier and couldn't relax enough to eat my lunch and read a paper... worrying if he would wake up. I seriously need a massage or to chill the fuck out.

FannyPriceless · 27/01/2011 15:37

honey If alpie were around I'm sure she'd be able to supply you with some Class B that would sort you nicely!Grin

Or just do it the BESH way and have a gin cocktail or two three. (3:30pm is a totally respectable time for this, btw.)

CurlyCasper · 27/01/2011 15:59

Ptttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhllllllllluuuuuuuu

Just thought I'd share one of the wet raspberries that abound in this house at present.

cossie Sounds like she's always right and everyone else is wrong. Just ignore and hope her judgeypants give her a serious wedgey.

And, yes, lets's all have gin cocktails. Thanks fanny.

SilverSky · 27/01/2011 18:06

I haz dilemma: do I wake and feed at 11ish and hope pray he sleeps til 7 or let sleep thru til 1/2ish and then feed put back down and poss sleep til 5, 6 or 7? It's all such a frigging lottery!

Dawg has the hump as has been in the back garden all afternoon as had small people visiting.

MB is now wearing a bib due to immense amount of dribbling!

Oh and I'll take your two gins ! Thanks !

OkieCokie · 27/01/2011 18:19

Moo Headaches? Feeling sick? Are you diffed?

CUNextTuesday · 27/01/2011 18:25

casp I'll see your Pttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhllllllllluuuu and raise you one with a mouth full of dinner. I look like I have pox.

rollerbaby · 27/01/2011 19:01

I could do with a nice spliff definitely.

Silver I'd do the late feed at 11 it's working for us...

Preggers? Hahaha

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 19:32

Honey, might you be anaemic?

FannyPriceless · 27/01/2011 19:35

silv Either option sounds like bliss to me.Envy

Cosmosis · 27/01/2011 20:01

anyone care to join me in some wine? The boy is in bed, the man is still at work (training). Peace and quiet.

SilverSky · 27/01/2011 20:19

Go on then cos just the one bottle glass.

Well the little fella decided to wake up. I knew he'd settled too quickly and he didn't have a decent feed. Typical that I was in the bath and HI is not here. So am sat with towel on feeding child. Tis glam life non?

Backinthebox · 27/01/2011 21:07

Hurray! I have spoken to my manager today and she has confirmed I will go back to work, be full time for 4 months and then straight back to my previous cushy sanity-preserving shift pattern. :o I won't have to fill out all the application forms all over again to get my part time. My job is great when you get it organised to your liking, but my company hasn't always been this enlightened!

LG had his third lot of jabs today, a few weeks late due to general lurgy. Why on earth do they have to make it 3 sticks of the needle? Poor babies, really get jabbed at that visit. Still, I imagine it was a darn sight easier than getting a needle into TT later on this year for her pre school jabs!

PS Is there's any of the beef Wellington left?

Backinthebox · 27/01/2011 21:09

Ooh, I've just realised there is wine on the go too! Top my glass up then :o Should wipe out all my feelings of virtuosity about going to a Pilates class tonight.

FannyPriceless · 27/01/2011 21:21

I'm going to meet Caspy!
I'm going to meet Caspy!

box There is no Wellington left. There never was any Wellington. Nothing to see here.
