Chulita Thanks. I guess I've learnt the hard way that woman in AIBU are really quick to use the word bigot. Also that I really shouldn't try and debate with people when I cant give the conversation my full attention, as I make typos and incoherrent sentences.

Urgh, I've had such a rotten day- it started so well too. Gwynnie slept from 10.30 - 8.30 last night, for the first time in months and she woke up in such a lovely mood, so I was really optimistic. Then she basically grizzled all day and I didn't get anything done until about 4, when I went to hang out the wet washing and the sodding clothes horse collapsed. Then I went to get myself a piece of cake, to find that DH had left the door open and the stupid dog had eaten it. That and being on the sharp end of the AIBU harpies has put me in a horrible mood.

TSC- you totally should post that on the Telegraph- it would totally confuse everyone. Although I think DH said that the Telegraph had closed the comments today. Or was that just on the Baronness Warsi thread?

DH I'm so pleased for you! This time last year I was putting the finishing touches on my wedding plans. Dh and I have been married 11 months today :-)

Memphis -Poor Lyndon! How's he doing now? has he gone to bed ok?

Cake I know what you mean about our preconceptions from Mumsnet- can you imagine how weird it would be if we ever did actually meet up? It would probably be totally confusing.

did you imagine us blanking tsc at centre parcs by any chance mlic, cos i'm totally up for that Grin

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 21:14

seriously, what did you imagine (i love stuff like this!)?

Needle · 20/01/2011 21:46

Hurray!!!! DH has finally managed to remove the cages from our windows (upstairs at least) I'm no longer caged into our house! I can finally clean 30 years of stripper filth of the windowsills! (not actually looking forward to that)

WRT meeting up- we're planning a mums and babies opening party for the tea house when we open in April. I'd be chuffed if you could come, although I appreciate it's quite far for some people. I'm currently working with DH to come up with ways to make the place genuinely child and pushchair friendly- we're planning to have chairs grouped around rugs with boxes of toys so that large groups of mothers can chat while children have space to play in the middle. All suggestions gratefully received.

LoL! TSC do you want us to sponsor him?! I suppose if we all help him raise money, it does give you leverage for future rows...

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 22:03

you can't meet without the rest of us, tsc and kk - that's just not cricket.

would london/needle's teahouse opening be a logistical mare for the non-southerners amongst us?

needle that sounds fab. we always say that we need something like that round here - somewhere that's nice (ie not softplay) but where the children can play and parents can chat/drink tea. oh - but i'd call it 'parents and babies' tho - i know a few SAHDs who are marginalised enough already, bless em!

really surprised how tall you are tsc. not what i thought at all.

a posh northern accent? now there's an oxymoron Grin

viksam · 20/01/2011 22:28

Hello u'all,
Needles tee house soinds great, we have a vintage cafe in our town, which is lovely but i wanted to go in the nice bit, decked out like an old fashioned living room but i wasnt allowed with Devon, i was miffed, even thoug i have boba i still wana sit somewhere nice! I really like the idea of all different chairs and tea cups and stuff but non spill cups would probably be a good idea for hot drinks if u can get nice ones. Id love to do something like that.
Cakes Im a ginge if that counts?
Weaning is interesting, Im not altogether sure what im doing, i feel i have lost my way some what. Im doing banana porridge and fruit at about 11ish and then veg at 5.30ish but his milk intake has dropped dramatically already and its only this week i have done two meals, didnt expect it to so soon. Re baby lead leaning, i have given him Banana and rusk but he gags and chokes, is this normal, what if he chokes, im worried! I also think he is a bit backed up, should i give him more fruit do u think??

kkfairybrains · 20/01/2011 22:34

been awol all week again ladies sorry! had a hectic week and it doesn't show signs of slowing down either. off to dublin in the morning for that careers expo i was talking about so early start again.
wrt to mini meet up in manchester i just don't think it's going to be possible Sad. i'm just looking at the itinerary for the trip here and it seems we're just going to have no time for hanging round. it's a bus and boat thing (dreading the travelling bit). the bus gets into old trafford at 14:15 and kick off is 15:00 then back onto bus after the match and to trafford centre for grub and then gone again. i'm really regretting not staying for a night and i was looking on the website there and the 1 night package is sold out. we're going to be exhausted. we leave the house at 4:30 saturday morning and don't get back until 9:00 am sunday Confused. seems such a shame to be in the same area as tsc and not being able to meet!
you're in london needle aren't you? i'd definately be up for even doing a london weekend over to family and meeting all you guys!
stac bet you can't wait to see ds tomorrow!
cakes i definately find the same with clothes they're all so weird fitting. and it seems the more expensive stuff last the least time too. ellie has a tommy hilfiger babygro that she's wore 3 times as it was just gone too small. you'd need to be trying on their clothes on a regular basis to know if they are fitting into them to get the wear out of them!
dh thats so exciting about the wedding! it's all coming together now!
gah i forget all the rest of the conversations now!

kkfairybrains · 20/01/2011 22:42

oh and i'm really surprised at how tall you are too tsc! had imagined you to be a shortarse! can't think of anything about me that would surprise anybody. i suppose maybe the irish accent but it wouldn't actually be a surprise as you all know i'm from ireland! i'm 5'4'' so quite an average height i'd say.

Needle · 20/01/2011 22:42

Right ladies, I seem to have gained some ground over in AIBU, so I'm going to take my small victory and run.

All suggestions WRT teahouse gratefully received. Anyone who wants to take a look at the company blog can do so here

WhatSheSaid · 20/01/2011 22:44

Enjoy the match kk I used to go to Old Trafford quite a lot when I was a kid but haven't been for about 20 years.

Is K Stand still seenas the one where the posh folk go?

I think it was because it was all seater when a lot of the rest of the stadium was standing.

Is it even still called K stand - above the away fans bit?

Woodlands · 20/01/2011 23:03

ooh needle, i'm definitely up for your opening party, count me in!

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 23:04

needle can't access the blog but might be my bb's security settings

I'd try and cater for different dietary reqs if poss - esp soya milk and vegan cake ;-). It might only be one person in a group that's non-dairy (for instance) but they might be the one who influences where the group goes for tea < who me? Emoticon >

My fave local tearooms keep a cake on standby for me!

A loo and a mirror in the baby-change is very desirable too!

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 23:06

Oh and those stay-open doors throughout. Not those tricksy closing newborn squashers that most places have.

Ooh that is posh tsc.Neville Neville still makes me laugh (the name not the man)

I used to sit on the crush barriers in the standing bits cos i was too short to see otherwise.

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 23:12

Have you decided on the decor/who's doing it needle?

< Ignores football talk and stays focused on fave subject of teahouse, trying not to be green with envy>

kkfairybrains · 20/01/2011 23:18

do you go to many matches tsc? i've never been to one so am looking forward to the experience! i'd say our tickets are the usual run of the mill tickets! whats the weather like over there at the minute? don't knw what kind of clothes to wear cos i hate being to warm. it's freezing here so do i dress for that or is it a bit warmer over there?

good woman thanks Smile. it's in the minus here so bit colder. oh god the thoughts of this journey is killing me! i'm debating whether to ring them tomorrow and see could they squeeze 2 more on to the 1 night package. really don't know if i can face all that travelling in 1 day

Stac2011 · 21/01/2011 00:25

evening all

needles the tearooms sound like a great idea, I love the fact your makingit mummy/daddy friendly.

kk I am really looking forward to seeing him. I love a footy match, ds has a season ticket with my uncle for rangers so I get to go every now and again

tsc I didnt imagine you to be so tall either. Hows franks? has the doc signed him off?

viks is it more gagging? think you just have to try different things as he will get used to it.

dh ooh its all go on the wedding front, cant wait to see the pics and hear your planning

I take it everyone saw rivens daughter on the news etc? The power of mumsnet eh Smile

I am glad I stuck to my guns regarding ds as he seems to have come round, dont know if its because he is nearly home or because he is having a good time. I do hope as some of you have said that its built up some confidence for the next trip

Well as you have maybe seen from the fb photos I am 5ft4 and currently sporting the weeble look as I feel as fat as I am tall, I come from Glasgow think I am just basically average.
