cake we 'just' moved here so it's taking a while to find people . Back in Dorset I had something everyday except Thursday when I visited friends. I'll get my feet under the table here, it's just a bit harder with two than it was with one since all classes seem to be geared to either one or the other and I don't want to put L in nursery.
tsc I'm a bit :( at your 'franks is in 12-18', just had Samwise weighed and he's dropped below the 25th having been born above the 75th centile. He feeds a lot though and still 4-5 times over night, what are we doing wrong?
mlic we live in a bit of a dodgy area, not our close roads but as soon as you get off the 'patch' to the local shops it's rough as. If I had dogs I wouldn't leave them outside either, more because the wandering strays would maul them...

Chulita · 20/01/2011 15:31

tsc I didn't think you wanted to ditch him [obviously didn't read tsc's posts properly emoticon]

Chulita · 20/01/2011 15:33

assuming Frankles is about the same age as Samsonian, that puts him squarely between the 91st and the 98th

memphis83 · 20/01/2011 15:37

tsc i love preciouspumpkinsonoflove L is wheredoalltheseshittynappiescomefromson since 8am he had literally filled 9 nappies just changed him and think we will be on nappy number 10 shortly as he is grunting!!! glad everything is better with dp btw!!
needle i think girls do tend to stay more petite, i would dread to see a girl with leg rolls like Lyndon its like the michellin man! he had huge hands and feet and roly poly arms and legs but a lean long body, dh always says look at those muscles!!!! he is very broad! the way he is people will start to think he was swapped at birth we dont have any broad people in our families although i did find out the other day my dad was so fat he couldnt walk til....5 yo!!! he is a very skinny man!!!
spoke to docs today about son of shittyland he says its his teeth give him gripe water to calm tummy ache and feed him baby rice a porridge for a few days, when he wakes at 12.30 dh wants us to leave him to cry it out, i cant do it i lay him on mat the other day as he was flapping around he screamed for so long he was gasping for air and he went blotchy (he does this everytime he cries!!)

I feed on demand but he's just never been that interested in food. The HV isn't any help oddly enough, our decent HV got left behind when we moved

j has started wearing 9-12 month stuff, though I hardly have any - he still fits in 6-9 month stuff too luckily. Things vary so much in size. A friend just passed on a few bits of Gap 6-12 month stuff but he won't fit in those for long. It's crazy really, in his first year he will have had 6 different sets of clothes (newborn, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12 and 12-18). Lucky I know plenty of people to hand stuff down!

Chulita · 20/01/2011 17:18

No, that's why I'm a bit Confused, he's just dropped below the line he fell to. Just got a phone call from the nursery nurse who weighed him today, she called the dietician who said that if there's a dairy intolerance weaning has to be done in a set way so we've been referred but there's a '6' week waiting list so can I hold off weaning til then...same kind of 6 week waiting list that DD's been on for the dermatologist since beginning of October. Right...we'll be weaning in July then at the earliest - I'm danged if I'm waiting that long, he's so keen to chew on things I'm just going to start but avoid obvious allergens I think. Not a happy bunny though cos guaranteed if I start they won't be happy but can I really hold him off for another few months? Especially with the 2 hourly feeds still going...

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 17:21

chulita like S, F was demand-fed but a small eater with bm and solids. He was a titch tho he's now suddenly catching up. I stopped having him weighed in the end as the HVs and the bloody red book used to make me feel physically sick with worry. He was in 9th percentile at birth and then hovered between the very bottom and the 25th thereafter. I took him to the gp instead who basically said that he was obv shiny of coat and nose and bursting with energy that there wasn't anything to worry about, esp as both dh and I were titchy children (tho neither of us are small now).

CakeandRoses · 20/01/2011 17:29

Oh and that's a real pain re wheat too :-(. Hopefully he'll grow out of it but not easy for you now.

I'd def start weaning too if I were you.

keep meaning to say re your walls... Can you leave them white rather than magnolia? It's just easier to do 'a look' with white plus accessories (eg bunting, large wall stickers, one wall painted). Most of our walls are white just cos I really like it. I love painting everything else tho - literally just been painting some old wooden bunting so it'll go in A's new room.

Thanks cake, that really helps. That's the thing, he's so jolly and active that I wasn't at all worried until I realised just how little he was putting on - suddenly I started doubting the quality of my milk/need for weaning/feeling guilty for resenting the 4-5 night feeds. But he's fine, not struggling so that's just the way he is and I need to accept that! And it has to be magnolia unfortunately but hey ho, we're still house-hunting so as and when we get something I'll be painting for sure. I went into a beautiful shop yesterday and thought of you (how odd seeing as I've never met you) it's a Vintage Living shop full of Cath Kidson stuff and that kind of style. Bought a gorgeous apron for L in the sale, blue floral with contrasting red polka dot pocket/ties.
mlic I'd be interested to hear what the dietician says, let me know once you've been! Hope he settles for you!
needle we're still firmly in 3-6 mth stuff and no sign of growing out of it yet. Well done for swimming against the flow in aibu :)

Chulita · 20/01/2011 18:39

Oh, and we need a new thread soon, titles anyone?

WhatSheSaid · 20/01/2011 18:42

Wow, we only started this thread on Boxing Day, got to 900+ messages quickly.

Chulita · 20/01/2011 19:18

mlic I was wetting myself reading the responses to that food processor thread!

memphis83 · 20/01/2011 19:22

12 nappies, feeling very sorry for this little boy!!

DesperateHousewife20 · 20/01/2011 19:22

We've just got back from the golf club where we're having our reception/evening do.
Its sooo lovely. Really rustic with wooden beams, log fire etc.

It also seems they can do the food, wine, champers and DJ for around a grand which is really good.

where's this thread y'all are on about

poor you, memphis!

what a bloody idiot re telegraph tsc. do you really think they didn't know she's a muslim tho? seems a bit of a coincidence.

Grin at you thinking about me in the shop today chulita. I often think of one of you if something connects to you in RL. I was actually thinking earlier we'd probably all have a few surprises if we did meet as we think we all know each other from on here and fb but there must be stuff that you'd only notice in RL such as accents, height etc.

e.g. - i used to be a man so have a slightly gruff voice Wink

seriously, there's not really anything that's surprising about me. I'm distinctly average!

i don't really have an accent . DH's Northern friends think i sound posh but i think a 'non-accent' sounds that way if you have an accent iyswim?

I'm about 5'6ish so not short and not really tall and lovely like dh

Oh and altho I'm usually slim, I'm not tiny as I'm still pretty muscular from years of doing martial arts pre-children.

Hoping one of you has something more interesting....
