Dylan woke at 3, then 4:15 Hmm then 6:30 and didnt really go back to sleep after that.

Ive got nothing to do today. I need to hoover but that wont take long. Ill prob go out again, maybe down the beach to walk Dylan and get some sea air into him to make him sleep tonight

mlic Dylan was sick aswell, on my side of the bed, lovely! I fed him lying down so he took in loads of air, when DP picked him up he did a huge burp!

I gave him chicken last night but he was so tired he didnt seem very interested in it.

memphis83 · 05/01/2011 09:02

tsc it wasnt really sick, more like all the milk Id just fed him as he had alot of wind and that pushed it all back up withing 5 mins of drinking it.

mlic all I said was he doesnt sleep through the night, he sleeps in my bed and she went off on a bit of a tangent. Saying I shouldn't co-sleep I should do CC (although she didnt call it that, just explained what it is)
I didnt pay any attention, I just said 'yeah' in the right places.
DP doesnt want to do CC anyway so Im not doing it, only in a few months time if things get really bad and even then I dont know if thats the best option.

Found a patch of reception in cottage if I do the downward dog in an exact spot of the bedroom :-)

Dh - as others have said your hv should not be telling you that (do these freaks get any training at all?)

It's your choice whether to co-sleep or cc - and unless you have a angel baby it'll usually be one or the other.

If you're happy co-sleeping for now then just carry on.

tsc is right re bf babies being a bit harder but in saying that both of mine went down fine in the evenings after a bedtime routine (felix was older probably 4 to 5 months whereas A was from about 7 weeks). A normally sleeps well on her own and if she wakes up it'll be due to wind or reflux or wanting her dummy rather than for bf. So they're all different!

Will post later if I can as F is asleep and dh is out with A so going to have a nap myself!

Stac2011 · 05/01/2011 11:12

i have tried a bit of cc but only when as you say mlic when i know she isnt genuinely upset. My mil feels you should let a baby cry as it strengthens their lungs (probs an old wives tale)

memphis aw thats cute it sounds like mama not so good as your left feeling guilty. Was L unsettled when dh went back to work, R has been a bit funny today.

Its a dull wet day here, may wait till after school to go to the shops. Anyone doing anything today?

Stac2011 · 05/01/2011 11:13

hope your enjoying your hols cakes

wonderstuff · 05/01/2011 11:30

Hello all. I know I haven't posted in ages - having a bit of a love/hate relationship with my puter atm.

DS is challenging atm - 24 weeks old, he can roll to tummy - then gets stuck and cross. He has decided he doesn't like sleeping on his own and that 5am is a good wake up time - just as well hes so cute! He has one tooth and I think he is teething again, I have tried twice this morning to put him down for his nap, both times he woke within a minute and we are on feed number 5 this morning I think. Was going to put off weaning until 26 weeks, but am tempted to get started sooner??

And that is why you can't buy medised for under 6's!
I personally co-sleep (well ds is suposed to be in bedside cot but always ends up next to me) and don't expect ds to sleep thrpugh - if he does 6 hours straight thats fab!
DH's GP (who he went to for a bad back) told dh that dd at 4mo needed a bit of discipline, let her cry! I had to pursuade dh that actually GP's aren't always childcare experts!

memphis83 · 05/01/2011 11:47

haha i was sitting here thinking surelyits easier to say nearly 4yo than 198 weeks!!
dh im shocked she said cc as thats more about choice of the parent, my hv wouldnt bat an eyelid at that, but i do feel like a criminal whenever i go docs or hv trying to make me agree that i co sleep, as they are dead against it here due to a local baby dying when co sleeping but i have never done it and think they are shocked i dont do it, i said to doc the other week the closest i get to it is propping him up in bed while i watch half hour of daybreak Grin i think they just like to tell new mums off!! My friend is fron the US and there they push co sleeping she has 4 in a bed and has never owned a cot!!
stac he is quite unsettled since dh went back doesnt help that he hear dh's van pull off every morning! hes parking it at end of road from tonight, was going into town today but its raining and i hate taking pushchair in the shop with a raincover on so i may just stay in house all day L had been asleep for 2 hours!! got clutter clearing to do but cant be bothered!

WinterChillita · 05/01/2011 11:52

dh some hv's just say the first thing that comes into their head. I'm always quite happy to ignore them if I don't agree with them Grin
I just let S cry for 20 mins til he went quiet. He's been up for 3.5 hours cos we had some errands to run so he was overtired and not settling. I'm not doing cc at this age but if he doesn't want feeding then he gets left I'm afraid!
I'm hoping to get both down for a nap at the same time so I can get Shredded, it's hit and miss though. I don't think I can do it with L up, she'll just get in the way!
welcome back wonder
got to go, destructive 2 year old is on the rampage!

i think the 17 week guideline was there for so long that professionals are having a hard time getting their heads round it. HV I saw with dd, 2.5 years ago confidently told me that WHO guidlines were for African babies and UK babes were the same size at 17 weeks that African babies were at 26!! Scary thing is at the time I believed her Shock
