Happy Birthday Catherine :o

Well, if we're having a competition about who goes back to work latest, my projected return to work will be in about 4 years time :o If it makes you feel better, to go to work would be far less stressful than juggling a 2 year old and a 4 month old 24 hours a day....

AmazingBouncingJesus · 17/12/2011 18:11

It's the only reason I do work LifeOfKate, gives me a nice break from the 5 year old and 2 year old! Grin

Blatherskite · 17/12/2011 20:17

Thank you everyone. She had a lovely time at her party so it's been a lovely birthday :)

I'm not likely to go back to work until Catherine goes to School so another 3 years-ish. I have been off for almost 5 years already though Shock I go through phases of loving it and phases of wishing I could go out to work for a break (and some extra cash!) Some days it's lovely and some days it is definitely not!

LifeOfKate · 18/12/2011 21:12

That's exactly how I feel, Blathers :) I am already planning what I am going to do with my 15 hours a week when Rosa is at pre-school in 3 years time Blush

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 19/12/2011 21:43

Here's this year's attempt at a Christmas name change.

Wishing I'd just registered as TheChristmasEasterWitch to make it easier :)

MistletoePoirot · 19/12/2011 22:19

I like it Blathers! Glad Catherine had such a lovely party - loved the pics on fb.

This is my christmas name change...! I think, for the first time ever in my whole life I am completely organised well before christmas. Nice feeling it has to be said. When I say completely organised I mean except actually posting presents to people we won't be seeing - one of them is in australis so she won't get hers in time (but seeing as I am also posting last years xmas and birthday present I am sure it will be fine!!!), the others we are going to pay extra for next day delivery to ease our guilt.

Imogen is so excited - she spends all journeys in the car screeching about christmas trees, lights, santas or snowmans and the demanding "more mummy!". We have left some of her presents under the tree so she learns not to open them and she has been very good and is very excited.

She has suddenly worked out she can get out of her bed herself and open her door which is quite funny. She did is yesterday after her nap, then this morning when she woke up, but then she did it after going to bed tonight. I heard her so walked up the stairs and said "no Imogen it is bed time, get back in bed please" in my firm teacher voice. She just turned and ran really quickly back into bed and then got upset like she does if she thinks she is in trouble for something so then I had to say it was Ok, but she had to stay in bed at bedtime until the morning!!!

LifeOfKate · 20/12/2011 13:40

Happy Birthday Elizabeth :)

Catherine's cake looked fab!

Hercule: this is my least organised year!! I haven't even managed to send out christmas cards and I still have a couple of presents to get, I have never left it this late before Confused Although to be fair, the couple I have to get still are for family memebers who I wasn't expecting to see on Boxing Day, we don't normally exchange gifts, but I will have bought for the ones who I knew I would be seeing, so would feel guilty if I didn't get the others something too!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahahah Grin

Oh how I wish my house was immaculate! I struggle with tidy most days.

I think the parties are easier because I had a MN thread helping me and they're for a limited time scale so I can spend a few weeks listening to my inner child and planning the party and then it's over for another year whereas the cleaning and tidying just goes on and on and on and on and never stops so I get bored and frustrated with it all. I would love to be a clean freak but I really don't have it in me - much to the disgust of my PIL who seem to think living in some sort of show home is easy, although I guess it is when you have 2 people in a massive self built 4 bed house with plenty of storage and no kids to mess things up constantly. I'm guessing their house is tidier since DH moved out too Hmm

I've not even finished writing my christmas cards yet, let alone posting them. They will be late this year Sad

MistletoePoirot · 20/12/2011 20:13

I would just like to say that usually I am VERY chaotic hence my excitement this year! I've lost quite a bit if weight (3 stone - still about the same to go though) and I think as a result I feel like I have more energy. I have no doubt it will run out very soon...

Happy birthday Elizabeth! Is it today? Who else still has birthdays to come? Andrew?

LifeOfKate · 20/12/2011 21:11

Just had a look, Andrew's birthday is 29th :)

I'm blaming my lack of organisation this year on (until recently) two children under 2 :o

Catherine loves being 2! She is now a "big girl" I'm told Wink

LifeOfKate · 23/12/2011 11:28

Aww, how cute, Blathers!

Noah seems to have done a 'kevin the teenager' and has become more of a handful literally overnight Hmm
His latest is not going to bed. He gets out and runs around. For an hour or so at bedtime. I had nearly given up on naps totally as by the time he'd get to sleep, he'd have to get up again so we could continue with our plans, but he has gone for one today, although I think it's because he has a cold that I have had the last few days too and feel exhausted because of it, so can't see it continuing once the cold is gone :(

Anyway, sorry to have a moan! Hope we're all ok and looking forward to christmas :) I am beyond excited about seeing Noah open his presents :o

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow, Happy Christmas :)

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 24/12/2011 21:44

Happy Christmas everyone. Catherine is definitely excited. Ever since her birthday she's been desperate to open every present she sees and we have a big pile waiting for her in the morning Xmas Grin

MistletoePoirot · 25/12/2011 08:58

Merry Christmas everyone! We did a'santa trail' for immy last night where she followed 6 photos of places in the house and at each one there was something (carrot, mini bottle, mince pie, stocking etc) and left them out with her Christmas card. She has loved her stocking and kitchen and has a massive pile of presents still!

BlatherskitesInFairyLights · 29/12/2011 13:45

Happy Birthday Andrew!

I just got a positive pregnancy test! Only due today so very early and I am very nervous but obvs can't tell anyone apart from on MN!

LifeOfKate · 30/12/2011 08:37

Oh Hercule, congratulations, so happy for you, what a lovely Christmas present Grin

Lee - Noah was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing too, it's a lot to get their heads around! He is liking his toys though, we got him the mini kitchen from elc and he got lots of accessories from other people Smile
Hope everyone else is ok, I'm looking forward to getting back to normal after new year!
